*Never leave till tomorrow what you can do today.
*Take a stock of your personal time to see what you do with it.
*Receive grace to spend your currency of time wisely.
*David, a man after God’s own heart brought down Goliath cheaply and gallantly.
*Whatever Goliath that thinks he will continue to harass you forever, I have good news for someone here, your time of triumph is here.
*As you commit your time in advancing God’s Kingdom in prayers and soul winning.
Father in the name of Jesus Christ, we thank You for this brand-new day. Thank You for the gift of life and thank You for the privilege to stand before You in prayers, accept our thanksgiving. Thank You for answered prayers today. Thank You for these amazing testimonies, we decree that these amazing testimonies shall be permanent, no reversal in the name of Jesus Christ. Anyone tapping into any of these testimonies, establish their own too. This Morning again, our hearts are open, speak to us again, visit us again, change our story and let your name be glorified. In Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
All through this week in our Covenant Hour of Prayer, our subject of concentration has been:
WE CANNOT HAVE A HEART FOR GOD AND NOT HAVE TIME FOR HIM
Say after me, “we cannot have a heart for God and not have time for Him.”
We can say, “while it is day time…”
Listen very carefully and this is very important; that is the fact that whatsoever you do with your time is a pointer to where your heart is! So you want to know where your heart is, take a look at the summary of what you do with what your time. We must understand very clearly especially this week much more than ever before, that there is a battle over your time.
Say with me, “there is a battle over my time.”
Why is this so? Among others, this is so because life is governed by time. You must have heard it said over and over, ‘lifetime’. So life is governed by time. In other words, the main currency that God has given to every human being is the currency of time. Time is the currency of life and it is the currency that you and I trade with on a daily basis and very interestingly God has made it so: every one of us has equal amount of time, 24 hours every day. No one is poorer or richer with time than another. Everyone has 24 hours, but the interesting thing is that you and I can only spend this currency of life only once; once it is lost, it cannot be regained.
-From this moment forward, grace to spend this currency wisely than ever before, may it become our portion in Jesus name.
We’ve seen the example of Abraham, Job and Nehemiah. This morning we are looking at the example of David.
1 Samuel 13:14
The Bible refers to David as a man after God’s own heart, but how did he get there, how did he become a man after his heart?
David said, “Evening and at morning and at noon will I pray”
How did he become a man after God’s heart: he was praying 3 times a day and not only that, in Psalm chapter 119 verse 46, he talks about, “I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings and will not be ashamed.” He was praying 3 times, asides of that he was speaking of God’s testimonies before kings and look at this:
Psalm 119:164 – Seven times a day do I (not will I, this is what I do) praise
He was praying 3 times, he was speaking of God’s testimonies before kings and he was praising God 7 times. That’s minimum 11 times. Assuming he was taking time only once to speak of God’s testimonies and he was a king. How did he get a time to do all these? It’s a demonstration of the fact of where his heart was.
You and I, let’s take a stock of our time:
We come here for Covenant Hour of Prayer, if you partake of this. When you do, now the Operation is on, when you come on here: Morning prayer, Evening prayer: making it 3 times.
Now your own personal time, what do you do with it? Take a stock of it.
You and I, do we have spend as much time in the things of the Kingdom as David the king did?
We want to become men and women after God’s own heart, therefore, let’s take a stock of our time and see what we do with it.
-From this day forward, grace to make time more impactful in advancing the Kingdom of God, may it be our portion in Jesus name.
We need a heart for God to make the most of our lives. We see it in the life of David.
1 Samuel 17:32
Remember the story of how God used David to kill Goliath. Look at the word, ‘thy servant’
1 Samuel 17:37 – the rest is history. We remember how that David cheaply, gallantly, triumphantly conquered Goliath. Every Goliath becomes minced meat when our times are invested in the hands of God.
-I don’t know which Goliath might be harassing your life and destiny right now, as you put your time into the hands of God, advancing His Kingdom, that Goliath is coming down.
Remember the testimony we heard this morning: Marital breakthrough by advancing the Kingdom of God, spending time to pray Kingdom Advancement prayers. Marital breakthrough became a cheap thing.
Favour in workplace became a reality even when all hope was lost (documented testimony).
-I don’t know your situation this morning, I don’t know that Goliath facing you, challenging you, harassing you, making life difficult and making you think that he will continue to harass you forever, I have good news for someone here, your time of triumph is here.
God who did it for David, is the same God you and I are serving. Let’s keep advancing His Kingdom.
Now the Operation is on: more time in prayers, more time in going for outreaches and the fact is that if you have ever taken note, when the time for prayers are on and you don’t partake of it, more often than not, by the time the prayer time has ended, ask yourself, “what have you done with your own time that is more valuable?”
More often than not, you find out that nothing tangible has been done. Church Gist. Have you ever taken note of that? You just find out that you’ve just been wandering, moving from one place to another, doing some things that are unnecessary. At the end of the day, you ask yourself, “so what have I done now?” Those who have gone for the prayers, they are back, they are refreshed, they have made investments, now I’m here moving up and down, no mission accomplished.
-From Today, no more wasted labour.
-From Today, no more wasting of time.
One cannot have time for God without remarkable marks on the earth.
-David made remarkable marks on the earth, you are the next person.
2 Samuel 18:3 – “…thou art worth ten thousand of us…”
One man, worth10,000 people.
-You are next in line! And your testimony shall be stronger.
-From this day therefore, receive grace to maximize time as you keep advancing the Kingdom of God, making remarkable marks on the earth in Jesus name.
In closing, in the words of Benjamin Franklin, “Never leave till tomorrow that which you can do today.”
Never leave till tomorrow what you can do today.
Can you pray more today?
Can you talk to somebody about Jesus more today?
Can you be at the Morning Prayer Raid today?
Can you raid as you go to work today?
Can you raid as you come back from today?
Say after me, “Heavenly Father, I receive grace, much more than ever before to spend more time in advancing your Kingdom. So help me God.”
Receive that grace right now in your own words. Speak to the Lord
