- Going Higher Part 5 at RCCG Special Sunday Service with Pastor E.A. Adeboye.
1 Kings 17:1
The first time l read this passage, l was arrested by the phrase ‘But according to my word’. Elijah the Tishbite called the heaven, he didn’t say he will pray, he just said there will be no rain or dew until l Elijah calls for it.
I have discovered that prayers are in categories.
- Thanksgiving, Psalm 100:4
- Praise, Psalm 100:4, Psalm 107:8
- Worship, Psalm 18:1-2
- Supplication, 1 Kings 8:46-50
- Intercession, Genesis 18:17-33
I pray that you learn the heart of intercession. - Prayer of demand, Isaiah 43:26, Matthew 6:9-11
- The decree (the highest form of prayer) that is the prayer Elijah prayed.
Can you issue decrees like that?
Isaiah 45:11
Job 22:21-28
Decree is what l call a senior brother of demand. One thing you need to know is that every decree must be rooted on what God has said before. You can’t decree anything that is not based on what God has said before.
The decree of Elijah is based on Deuteronomy 28:15, 23, 24. The Almighty God said if you will disobey me l will close the Heavens, there won’t be a single drop of rain. Ahab and Jezebel had broken every rule of God.
I remember one young man in Europe that said the Nigerian pastors who think l am wrong let them ask God to kill me. Someone said why don’t you ask God to kill him? I said God didn’t send me to kill him, He sent me to save souls.
Every decree must be based on what God said.
- Daniel 3:16-17
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego said the God that we serve will deliver us, based on Isaiah 43:2. - When Elijah got to the house of the Widow of Zarephath in 1 Kings 17:8-16, he said feed me first and there will be food here for as long as it is necessary. How was he so sure? Proverbs 3:9-10
- 2 Kings 4:1-7, a widow went to Elisha and said l have nothing left just a pot of oil and he told her to go home and get more pots and continue to pour the oil she had and see what will happen. How come? The widow believed, 2 Chronicles 20:20.
‘According to My Word’
Your future to a large extent is going to be determined by your word.
Proverbs 18:21
Numbers 14:26-30
Proverbs 12:13
What comes out of your mouth can trap you. You can decree your greatness. You can decree wisdom into your life based on James 1:5. If you are ever going to get higher, you need a large dose of wisdom this is based on Proverbs 13:20.
You can decree long life for yourself based on Psalm 91. You can decree that you will not die young according to Psalm 118:17.
Some people laughed when they heard me say don’t worry yourself to celebrate any birthday for me now, wait till l am 90, then we will celebrate for a whole month. Unless the Lord returns before then, at the age of 90, l will celebrate for the whole month. After the celebration l can begin to get ready to go. That l will die soon is a lie.
You can decree abundance Psalm 68:19. Begin to announce it that l will not lack, Psalm 34:10. If anything is good, it is not going to be lacking in my life. If there is anyone jealous of you now, say it loud and clear that you haven’t even started.
Decree that you will be shining brighter and brighter,
Matthew 5:14-16.
You are going to shine, nobody can put out your light. They will laugh at you but keep on saying it.
They laughed at me when l said God told me He will give me a city when l was in a room in Mushin. They laughed when l said presidents will come and worship with us. We built a presidential lodge: when presidents refused to come, the elders had a meeting and said l should move in l am the president. l said no, presidents will come. They have started coming by the grace of God, they will still come.
When l told my children in London that one day, the Royalties will come and worship with us, they laughed. A church of immigrants and Royalties will come and worship with you, a Pentecostal Church? When the heir apparent wanted to celebrate his 60th birthday, he came.
Decree your future, tell your friends l will shine more and more.
Proverbs 4:18.
Daniel 12:3
Psalm 23:4-6
Tell them God has promised you overflowing anointing until your cup runs over. He has promised you divine security, surely, goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days of your life.
Decree your way to the top, Deuteronomy 28:30. Tell them in any gathering of greats, l will be the greatest, Daniel 6:1-3. Tell all who cares to hear, you are going to excel. Decree based on Daniel 2:20-21, that seasons will favour you, the new normal will favour you.
Joshua 10:12-14, every season will favour you.
I decree they will favour you.
Romans 10:10, believe in your heart. God is alive this is the foundation of your faith. Your faith can grow. Say it with your mouth that your tomorrow will be alright. Believe in your heart, say it out with your mouth that your tomorrow will be alright.
In Romans 10:9, the Bible made it clear that salvation comes when you believe and you are willing to say it out.
If you are listening to me now and somehow you know that Jesus must be alive and you are willing to declare it that you know He is alive by making a decision to surrender to Him, you will be saved if you will surrender to Him today and ask him to please save your soul and forgive your sins and give you a new beginning, He will do so.
I decree today concerning all Your children all over the world, that their tomorrow will be alright.
Spend quality time today to decree into your future, find any promise of God in the Bible, claim it for yourself and begin to pronounce it to all those who care to hear.
