When a mechanic does not know what to do, it can take him five hours and he will still be sweating and struggling without progress. In those days when I was driving my executive Volkswagen Beetle, we had one person in town that was very good at it. Everybody lines up for their turn because he is a master of Volkswagen Beetle. When he hears the sound, he knows the problem. Church Gist. He knows everything. Somebody else is out there, he is free but there is nobody around him. Knowledge is powerful.

UNVEILING THE FUNDAMENTALS OF SUCCESS.

Let me repeat that outstanding success, never heard of success is not about your ambition, it is your birthright. You are redeemed as the light of the world, the salt of the earth, a city set upon a hill that cannot be hidden. It is not that you are very ambitious. You are not ambitious at all, it is your birthright. Redemption is ordained to position you and I on top of the world. Light of the world, a trailblazer, a pathfinder, a city set upon a hill that cannot be hidden, but not everyone can receive this because they have allowed their present circumstance to cloud their holy mind. ‘What is a man looking for? Just to eat and drink and send children to school. That’s enough’. Church Gist. Satan says that’s enough, more than enough. He negotiates you out of your inheritance. You saw how Satan through Pharaoh was negotiating the freedom of the children of Israel. He is still negotiating people out of their inheritance today. Some people think that their salary is their prosperity that is why they become poor. The covenant is the platform for your prosperity. His blessing is what makes rich, not salary, not income. Success is not your ambition, it is your birthright and if you allow yourself you can sell your birthright for a morsel of meat.

Psalm 11:3
We need to be conscious of the foundation of every provision of scriptures so we don’t miss out. We need to secure God’s foundation, we must locate the Word foundation for any provision of the kingdom that we are interested in. 1 Corinthians 3:11. Foundation is vital, you don’t renovate the foundation. One of the fundamentals of success is THE FORCE OF DILIGENCE. Its naked name is hard work. It has no software. Church Gist. No software Christians. Hard work means working hard. Covenant is yet to develop that software. If you work soft, you fail flat. The U.S. is the global headquarters of softwares and they are yet to find that. Work soft, fail flat. Even though you are the light of the world ordained to shine with global relevance, yet you will stink without hard work. Ecclesiastes 10:18. That is how fundamental it is. Slothfulness is a destroyer of destiny, nothing works without somebody at work. The earth was without form and void and God had to work it out to fulfill His picture of a new world and God finished His work. To give shape to your life – WORK!, to give shape to your family – WORK!

Genesis 2:1-3
Work is not a curse, is God under a curse? You won’t work? Your life can’t have shape. It will be void, darkness will fill the whole place, there will be no reverence. Don’t mistake title for work oh. If you don’t run, no vision will see the light of day. Habakkuk 2:2. Church Gist. God can speak to you in Jamaica or India, if you don’t run no vision will see the light of day. Even if angels appear to you, God the Father, God the Son are all talking to you and patting you on the back, It won’t work. You don’t work, it won’t work.

John 4:31-34
God the Father – work, God the Son – work, so where are you coming from? Your Saviour work was like food to him. We have some folks who they call workaholics, those are people who just must work or get fired. There is another group of people called workaphilis these are people who take delight in the pursuit of the assignment. They are not being coerced, they are not being forced. They are not trying to impress anybody to get a promotion. Church Gist. There are too many idle people in the body of Christ today. They call themselves full-time ministers but they are full-time players. Children are full-time players, the only ministry they have apart from when they are in school is to play. They are in a hurry to leave school so they can play. You find believers doing nothing and saying “I am believing God”. God is just there laughing. 1 Timothy 5:8, 2 Thessalonians 3:10.

One young man in Liberia said he read from my little diary on diligence – “living without working is dying without knowing”. You are looking for a job in an Oil Company, okay but do the one that you see now first. Ecclesiastes 9:10. This Global Minister (Bishop Oyedepo) has taught in primary school before by choice. No downtime for me. I am now teaching the entire world from one spot. Wake up. People just do very funny things. Church Gist. “I want a job in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs” go and start one since they don’t have vacancies and that is where you must work. For the next ten years, they don’t have a vacancy until you are not qualified for an interview anymore. People are just hiding under nonsense and they call it faith. Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith, Jesus said I must work(John 9:4, 5:17). Where is your own faith coming from?

I am jealously guarding these fundamentals in my life that is why it is working. Somebody said take it easy, I said if I take it easy will you be here. Do you want to start 75 new nations by taking it easy? Or you just think the thing will start by an angel coming to open the place. Strategic planning, strategic programming, strategic working. All those plans will equal zero if you don’t work. I want your taste for work to come alive. Proverbs 22:29. I got that gift in 1982. Church Gist. This short hand has been privileged to shake all kinds of hands in the world – demonic hands, business leaders, political leaders, Presidents of nations. When we were ten I would prepare the same way I am preparing now with zeal and zest and no sleep till when you have heard enough from God. Now that telephone has come, people have lost their work ethics. People waste time on the phone during working hours. If you subtract business calls from calls of compliment, the ratio is 10:90. People are just so relaxed on the phone. When I call team members I just go straight, not hello. He has picked it. That is hello.

Life in the kingdom operates on the covenant platform of seedtime and harvest. You never get out of life more than you are committed to invest in it. Genesis 8:22. Position does not connote relevance. Otherwise, all these positions that people have in the Public and Private Sector, why has it not enhanced their relevance. It is not your position, it is your contribution. There are many founders of churches and ministries who are suffering and members are putting to work what they teach and they are triumphing. Church Gist. They don’t think the teaching affects them, it is for the people. No! You are part of the people. Jesus is the one teaching. Let’s wake up and take responsibility. Nothing works without somebody at work. There is nothing in doing nothing. Proverbs 20:4.

2 Corinthians 9:6
You sow sparingly you reap sparingly, people think it applies only to giving. It applies also to your investment of your time and energy. Only hard workers emerge as highflyers in the race of life. There is a young man by the name Isaac Newton, he was so busy in his laboratory at home that the wife set the food and called him. “I will be there in a moment”. He got so busy, he forgot. He came in to eat and saw that they have cleared the food to keep it warm, He said “oh! I forgot I have eaten”. People are so lazy today that food is uppermost. They sit down around food today as if it is their enthronement. I remember one of my birthdays like that, I was already crossing Makurdi and writing a note in my diary when I realized that day was my birthday. Church Gist. So I called my wife that she didn’t remind me that today was my birthday and she also forgot. People have told me their birthday more than twenty times, but I can’t know all of that. It’s limited. You say ‘How can you forget my birthday’ I say I forgot my own so what is your problem? Love your neighbour as yourself, if I can forget my own. I can forget your own. For lack of time, I can only do birthdays once in ten years. Any other one you are doing is your own. Since you are going to be alive don’t be in a hurry, when I am 70 come but don’t come again till when I am 80.

Now watch, Jesus the hard worker, The Holy Ghost is an eternal worker. He shall abide with you forever. He is a forever worker. God the Father – a creative worker, God the Son – a tireless worker, God the Holy Ghost – A forever worker and they live in you so where did you get your own from. Faith is no substitute for hard work. Faith is to believe God for the grace required to stay on duty and productively too. Church Gist. The Legacy Publications which is in all kinds of languages of the world, the Holy Ghost didn’t write one line there. He only inspired me and left me to either write or sleep. Nobody can read what you won’t write. Hard work is fundamental to accomplishing one’s mission on the earth.

All our covenant fathers were hard workers. Abraham was a hard worker. He didn’t have any luggage to pack when he left but all of a sudden, He has lots of cattle, in silver and gold. This man was called at 75 yet he had to work that agenda out by working. Genesis 13:2. In Chapter 14, he had 318 servants in his house who were also security personnel. Father Jacob who became Israel a great worker, creatively worked himself out of the imprisonment of Laban. Isaac inherited all of his father’s substance yet he dug and they filled it, he dug again and they filled it, he dug them tired and sowed in the land and reaped a hundredfold. His wealth was not by his inheritance but by his labour. We brethren are children of promise like Isaac, if you won’t work nothing will work. Therefore, wake out of your sleep.

Isaiah 51:1-3
You follow the steps of Abraham to experience the blessings of Abraham. John 8:39. Do the work. You won’t find any success story without a doing. Joshua 1:8, Proverbs 14:23. “I confess, I possess” is not the way to make progress. I engage and I confess. Confession is watering the work you have done. Watering the unplanted field is a waste of time, you are just causing erosion. You have to engage before confession can work. It is in the doing not just in the saying, talk is cheap they say. Labour is a covenant requirement to see a glorious destiny fulfilled. Proverbs 12:24. Only workers today get enthroned tomorrow, not idlers, not the slothful. Proverbs 13:4. No one’s desire will ever see the light of day without engaging practically in the pursuit of any of the provisions of the kingdom. It is a demand on our lives. Those who place pleasure before labour live perpetually under pressure. It is labour before pleasure. Proverbs 24:27. You prepare your work first in the field, you make it fit for thyself and then you can build your house. Labour first and pleasure after or you live perpetually under pressure. I have never confessed “I build, I build” I have never. I work and work and work. We better know the arrangements. The alphabets begin with A, don’t start with Z.

Proverbs 21:17
Don’t take it easy, take it hard or you miss your place. Let’s wake up and work while it is day. All these fast ways of looking for money can lead to a waterloo where you spend all your remaining life in prison. Doing one’s best is hard work, going beyond one’s best is sacrifice. Every star is an offspring of sacrifice. There is no star without a scar and the scar of every star is sacrifice. There are those who have not even done their best, talk less of going beyond their best. Work is a gift, not a curse. You know how Satan got the man Adam, “dress this garden and keep it”. There was no day that we were told that he went to dress it. He was an idle man. They were not looking for him, he was around that tree idle. Billy Graham once said, “some temptation comes to all men but all temptations come to idle men”. The English man said “an idle man is the devil’s workshop”. He is his partner so they are working together. Ephesians 4:28. You have the temptation of stealing when you are not working. Labour enhances human dignity, it creates a colourful future.
We are redeemed for global impact- the light of the world. No world-changer runs a normal schedule. No world-changer possesses a normal habit. Mark 3:20-21. They said Jesus was mad because He had no time to eat. See the impact of that madness up till now. No world changer has a normal lifestyle. That is how to possess the reality of your glorious destiny. Subscribe to the fundamental requirement of diligence and you will be listed among high fliers in no time. Engage yourself maximally in what is in your hand now.
