In 1985, Archbishop Benson Idahosa held the
Crusade of the Century (One Million Man Crusade) in Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos Nigeria. Despite the then Major General M Buhari led Federal Military Government ban on preaching in public places, it was recorded that the Crusade was the largest single religious gathering in Africa up to that point.

Ministers like Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, Bishop Mike Okonkwo, Evangelist Bola Aare and more were present at the gathering.
