We give you praise and glory, we exalt your majesty, we give you all of the honour in Jesus’ name we have prayed.
Before you sit down we are going to thank God exactly today 41 years ago, the mandate was handed over to Bishop Oyedepo to establish the Living Faith Church, he specifically told me when we spoke on phone, he said: David help me to thank God, we are going to thank God on his behalf and on behalf of the Church that the 41 years mandate is still speaking and it will speak for many years, God will keep him strong and healthy, for the purpose of God in his life to be seen in full. But we are going to thank God that God has made him see 41 years in the Church will make him see many more years. As a Church can we lift up our voice and tell God thank you. In Jesus’ name we have prayed.
Give Jesus a big hand and you may be seated. Praise the Lord!
I want to welcome everyone, the theme is “PRAYER’S FOR POSSIBILITIES” before we hear God’s Word hear this, we are in a season of revival, a revival is a season of massive salvation of souls, ingathering of souls into his Kingdom, the Church is in an era of multitudes. Acts 5:14. Matthew 20:29. Great multitude followed Jesus. John 6:2. ChurchGist. Everywhere he went multitudes followed him. Luke 12:1. That time the crowd was so much that the usher could not count and Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. The purpose for his Church is crowd, multitudes. So, crowd is not against scripture, in fact where there is no crowd it’s against what Jesus is saying.
Jesus the head of the Church expects you and I to know that wherever he is there will be a crowd and it will happen in the name of Jesus. ChurchGist. But revival is made to happen, it does not come on its own. Men are instruments used by God for revival. Psalm 85:6. Say with me: use me Lord. You remember vision Zechariah 9:12? Now, if you remember that vision then you must do something about the vision. Zechariah 9:10. God expects us to multiply and I said between now and June we shall double, how many of you sincerely before God went for a soul? So, ask your neighbour are you part of the vision to bring a soul? So, tomorrow go out for that soul. Because tomorrow is also a public holiday. So come with that soul. Shout Hallelujah!
Long ago a pastor came to me and said sir, just pastor a small Church, io told him: not me and you, he was very serious, I told him anywhere Jesus went multitude gathered and so I don’t believe that Jesus the Head of the Church should be with small people and another one came to me and said you know what the reason why they don’t come to their Church is because they preach holiness, I laughed. I told him that Deeper Life wouldn’t have been so big, I told him your pastor does not preach holiness more than Pastor Kumuyi, so it is just a failure. ChurchGist. You know when you’re not succeeding, you’ll give excuses, you have plenty of excuses when you’re failing.
I said Deeper Life is big and the man preaches holiness, is your pastor preaching another kind, I told him to go away. I don’t believe in that kind of philosophy, multitude is of God, so, tomorrow come with somebody and everyone who brought a soul God bless you, keep winning, don’t be discouraged, in case one person told you no, go ahead for another one and they are too many if one person tells you no, another man is available and God will reward everyone, but make sure your soul abides before June ending.
Well, the message now, Prayer for Possibilities. Prayer is communicating with God on the basis of his Word and your relationship with him. Prayer is visiting your Father God, you know the way somebody gets up and says I want to visit my father and that’s prayer. How many want to visit God? It’s through prayer that you’re going to visit God. ChurchGist. The greatest weapon to effect any change on earth is prayer. Matthew 18:18. Heaven does not determine the affairs on the earth, the earth determines how Heaven will intervene on the affairs of the earth.
So, the greatest weapon to effect any change on earth is prayer. If I tell you something you’ll be shocked: What Prayer will do, Politics can’t do it. What prayer can do; ideology can’t do it; Philosophy can’t do it. It’s the strongest weapon to effect changes on earth yet believers don’t use it. Ironically people believe that you learn how to pray by praying, that is not true. ChurchGist. There are many people who will say is it not prayer, why will I come for a special teaching on prayer; prayer is just to pray, that’s not true. Prayer is taught, every religion prays, even the one that has no answer they pray, but we don’t waste our time in prayer, we know what to pray about, that is why in Luke 11:1, they said teach us to pray, do you know why they said so? They have been praying and they know that anytime Jesus prayed he got results.
They said master, there must be something you know about prayer which we don’t know about, teach us the way John taught his disciples, because we are not getting results like you. So, Prayer is taught. You don’t pray by praying, you have to be taught how to pray and if the purpose of anything you’re doing is not known you may be casual about it. ChurchGist. So, it’s important to know why you should pray. If I say pray and you say, why do I have to pray. I was talking to a pastor in the United States of America and he said I want you to talk to your Grandson, I asked what is the problem? He said he does not want to go to school, he said he wants to do business, I smiled (a small boy). I asked him, is that what you want to do? He Said I am the cause of it, if you speak to him, he will hear you. I said why don’t you want to go to school, he doesn’t know the purpose of school, because during Coro he did a Job where they were paying him some stipends.
So, he got so much money and felt that going to school was a waste of time, he doesn’t know the purpose, have you not seen some boys who do not go to school and they sell goods in the market? You ask them why don’t you want to go to school? ChurchGist. They will say no need, all I need is money. He doesn’t know the purpose of school, even the business he is doing there is a level he will get to that he would not be able to calculate again. But because he does not know the purpose, he feels it is a waste of time.
Many don’t know why to pray, so they say why should I pray, prayer is just prayer. No! it’s beyond that. Jesus was always communicating with the Father God through prayer, he built his relationship with his Father through prayer. Matthew 26: 39-44. Jesus was communicating with the Father, He knew how to build a relationship with God in prayer, Glory to God! Every time he finishes, he will go back and pray to the father. ChurchGist. So, today being the first day of the Spiritual week of empowerment, we will be laying the foundation, some reasons why you should pray, because if you know these reasons, you’ll be prayerful. I’m not going to take all, there are too many but I will give you some of them, why you should pray.
Why should I pray in the first place? can’t I just do without prayers but if you pray you will know that these reasons are important.
WHY SHOULD I PRAY
- GOD COMMANDED IT AND COMMANDMENTS ARE TO BE OBEYED.
Luke 18:1. God expects us to pray daily, not occasionally. Do you know prayerlessness is a sin? God sees it as a sin when you don’t pray. 1st Samuel 12:23. So, when you don’t pray, you’re committing sin. Say with me: from today, I will be prayerful. Because it is a command from God. - YOU SECURE GOD’S HELP WHEN YOU PRAY.
Oh God help me, it’s in prayer that he will help you. Hebrews 4:16. Where do you get help from? Through prayer, oh God help me, you have to pray not by shouting. Anytime you want help what do you do? Pray. Psalm 60:11-12,56:9, 121:1. That you will lift up your eyes does not mean you will keep looking up, no! it means you will pray, I will look up to God and pray in times when I need him. May God give you help, you will be helpless without God’s help. Prayer is a major tool for securing the help of God. Say with me: Lord, from today I ask that you help me at every point of my need. ChurchGist. Paul speaking made a statement in Acts 26:22, I obtained help as I kept praying God was helping me, may God help someone. Say with me: As I pray, I know God will help me.
- PRAYER GENERATES POWER FOR ACCOMPLISHMENT.
Acts 4:29-31, they generated power through prayers, all these vegetable Christianity is because you don’t pray. When you pray you generate power, you say to the devil, shut up you devil, they threatened them, a witch threatened you and you’re crying. You know why you’re running from a witch, no prayer. ChurchGist. Pastor pray for me, No! Get up and pray. How can a wizard in your compound make you run away? a Lion running away from a Dog, that is when you will pray in the closet, this man is threatening me. I give you 7 days you’re gone; you generate power in the place of prayer and you say I decree 7 days; you generate power in the prayer room.
It’s inside the prayer room you generate power, how many want to generate power? Won’t you like that when somebody threaten you and you smile and tell them wait for me, I am coming, I’ll think you threaten me, you go and pray and pray and you come back and tell him listen I give you 3 days, just 3 days you’re gone and on the third day he’s gone. ChurchGist. Prayer generates power. May the grace to pray be released upon you right now, I was speaking when we were flying to Abuja to someone on the aircraft and I said listen, when this Church started don’t think we got the power cheaply, I prayed nonstop for two years, nonstop, Monday to Sunday, my wife is a witness, I prayed every midnight, there was no midnight I did not pray, I will wake up 12 midnight and pray till 2, Monday to Sunday. You will just eat pounded yam and be saying power, power. Hmm, power, you can do that when you’re at your convenience, you’re a Christian go and generate power, it’s in the prayer room you generate power.
4) YOU ENCOUNTER GOD’S GLORY THROUGH PRAYER.
Luke 9:28-32. Tomorrow you will pray alone. I studied that in all the places where Jesus got results nobody went with him to pray. The one he took people they slept off, stop waiting for people to pray for you, real result is you. Everywhere Jesus prayed and he got result he didn’t take Peter, James and John, he prayed alone. Don’t say you’re waiting for people it’s a lie, the one he took people, look at them they slept. Outstanding result is not collective prayers, it’s your own, group prayer is acceptable, but when you want an outstanding result that is undeniable it’s you alone, all this I am waiting for people to join me, it’s a lie. ChurchGist. Some people prayed with me when we came newly to Port Harcourt about our property, the more they prayed the more the problem increased. Stop waiting for people, tomorrow I will tell you details of that.
Some people will come and tell me: Man of God, I know that when you pray things will happen, God has called you, they are sleeping. It’s from the prayer room that glory is generated, how many of us want to see God’s glory? Are you going to see God’s glory? When you carry God’s glory people can’t stop you, glory is so powerful that when they stop others, they will just tell you to pass. You generate it in the prayer room, you’ll enter your office, your table becomes the table of God, you go for business, they don’t sign people’s deals until they have signed yours. May you begin to generate such glory. ChurchGist. Your level of command changes automatically, you just take authority at a new level. You that use to eat in the dream, before it happens, you’ll say Satan get out, you know that level has changed, may your level change, before this month is over your level will change, you can’t be at a diapers level, some of you are already 50 years in Christianity and yet you’re still wearing diapers, are you hearing me now? You’re still using a feeding bottle at an old age. Generate power in the prayer room.
5) PRAYER GIVES YOU AUTHORITY OVER SATAN.
Satan does not respect phonetics, in fact it angers him, it if you come to Satan, saying Praise God, I’m telling you, he will be very angry, is it me you’re talking to, you’re twisting your tongue to talk to me.
A young man said he wants to start ministry in Akwa Ibom, I said where do you want to go to, he said God is sending him to Akwa Ibom, I said you, Akwa Ibom, I said calm down, don’t go yet, he said sir, God told me to go to Akwa Ibom, I said wait, a true life story, I said you’re not strong, I didn’t say God did not call you but calm down, he went to Akwa Ibom, it didn’t take two weeks by the time he called me his mouth was bent. I said you should calm down; you’re telling me God called you. ChurchGist. They don’t use English, Satan respects only those who pray, your own mouth will not bend, we prayed for him for the mouth to be straight again, after that he listened to me. Acts 12: before Peter was arrested, they had killed James, Herod killed James and now they have captured Peter to kill him. Look, negotiation couldn’t have brought Peter out, dialogue wouldn’t have brought him out either. It was to be killed but it was prayer, that was the only thing Satan got scared of. Acts 12:5-17. Peter was kept in prison but prayer was made without ceasing of the Church unto God for him, they call it chain prayer.
They prayed without ceasing, they said Satan get your hands off Peter, you have killed James, you can’t kill Peter. If they did not pray Peter would have been killed. ChurchGist. Life story, they picked somebody in this Church by kidnapping and I was studying in my office, this happened long ago, I told the Pastors to pray, they prayed and prayed and then I had a quickening to get up, they are about to kill him. So, I stood up from my sit I said every one of you, now enter all the likes of Pastor Abiye and Pastor Samson were all here, I said none of you are going home today, lock the gate, let’s go and pray, I said if this man does not come out you won’t go home, tell your wives that you’re not coming home and I was with them, not that I told them and I left and we prayed it was when we were praying physically the thing that the man was tied with loosed and got said to him.
Look, now, go away. Before him they were pricing his parts, he was hearing the man pricing to sell it for such an amount, he’s a medical doctor, how much are you paying? All these ritual killings must of them is kidnapping, he heard the man pricing him and then all his chains got loosed and he untied himself and he worked out before he told me all the story. ChurchGist. That happened when we prayed, he would have been dead by now. Listen, under this unction anyone tied down by the enemy I command your losing right now and anybody that wants to kill will be dead instantly in the name of Jesus. The Church prayed for Peter, it’s one major weapon that Satan is afraid of.
They told me of a story of a lawyer who something happened to of recent, that something came and hit him on the chest, instead of running to Church for prayers, he ran to the hospital, something suddenly hit you; you should know that they stabbed him demonically, they finished him in the spirit realm before he was physically finished. ChurchGist. Doctors will call stuff like that a heart failure or panic attack because that what they will see, they stab the person from the spirit realm, you know election is close. So that’s how they finish them to win the election.
They pierced the person’s heart, but today whoever wants to kill you dies now, but if he was a prayerful person immediately, he will know that this was an attack, but people don’t pray, he didn’t even know where he ought to go. How can you have something that looks like a physical hit? you’re supposed to come to Church and after prayers you’ll go to the hospital, but he is a prayerless person. But today marks the end of any attack on your life. ChurchGist. Cases like Peter you have been tied for slaughter, you’re free right now. Why you should pray is because that’s the only language Satan respects. Satan does not respect power, ask me why? James was operating in power when he killed him, he was casting out demons, the only thing Satan fears is prayers. So, he will prefer you to be speaking English than pray, if you observe today, the Church has left prayer. If the Church goes back to prayer nobody will insult us, Christians don’t pray again. We now talk like Politicians we have a tool stronger than negotiation. If we don’t want any government, we’ll just pray them out, prayer is powerful.
Long ago I wasn’t powerful, I didn’t even know my left from my right, two men who were born again, I wasn’t born again then, I don’t even know what Born again is, they used to call me bro Ibiye, they said Ibiye join us, I don’t know what they were doing but I learnt something from that thing forever, they wrote out everything they wanted on a piece of paper, they said Babangida step aside, A new Christian come, they wrote the whole thing, we were living in Ogba in Lagos then. ChurchGist. The two of them fasted, I was just following them as observant, they wrote everything on a piece of paper and at the end of the day in the evening they began to call one another, the country was tense the country was tensed, the exact words they used was Babangida step aside, everything they prayed about that was what happened, two people, I can’t call myself number 3, it says if two of you shall agree, it’s not in group it’s in agreement and I learnt something they were just two people) Shonekan came the only mistake they made was that they did not pray that Shonekan should stay, they didn’t pray for him to stay, they just prayed that a Christian should come.
So, I learnt that it’s not in the crowd, if you don’t want a government today, two people can pray it, you don’t need to be a pastor, in fact pastors should not even pray it, because pastors may support different people, we may not agree. Just imagine if I am supporting one Governor, the other pastor can be supporting another Governor. So, it’s better for two brothers who agree, it’s not anointed men that determine answers to prayers, most times we make mistakes, if two heavy men of God two of them their heart might not be agreeing. ChurchGist. The first one might say that my heart is going for candidate A while the other’s heart is going for candidate B and two of you are shouting father in the name of Jesus, the prayer won’t receive an answer, it will keep contradicting each other. Shout Hallelujah!
Let the church go back to prayer.
6) YOU OBTAIN MERCY WHEN YOU PRAY.
Hebrews 4:16. So, if you want mercy, where do you go? In prayer, Oh God have mercy on me and today God’s mercy will answer you. 2nd Samuel 24:14b. Lamentations 3:22. If I want mercy what do I do? I should pray. ChurchGist. God’s mercy will answer to someone in the name of Jesus.
- PRAYER’S GUARANTEE DELIVERANCE FROM AFFLICTION/ TROUBLES.
James 5:13a. Pray, stop going to people for negotiation, are you in trouble what do you do? Pray before God. Are you going through challenges? Pray. Are you going through some challenges in life? What do you do? Stop going to tell people your problem, they can’t solve them, pray your problems before God. Is anything giving you concern? Pray it out.
8) PRAYERS CHANGE DESTINY.
2nd Chronicles 7:14. If you don’t like the way your life is going, pray it and change it, a woman had a child, she called his name Jabez. Jabez means I bore him in sorrow. If you’re from this part of the world, parent will look at event surrounding the birth of the child and they name him after that, may be they won a case when they gave birth to him, they might name him justice, if they gave birth to you when the Governor general of Britain came to Nigeria, they might name you Governor, if they gave birth to you inside the Church, you’ll be named mission, they name you according to the good ones or bad ones and if it’s a bad one they will also name you accordingly. ChurchGist. I had a relation who was named in this potter, they named him Ibinemka (meaning he does not know good thing) he called him to change it to Ibinemi (meaning you know something good) They may think they are giving you a good name based in the surrounding event, they named somebody in my village Ikgwe which means poverty and that was the man’s name, I met him blind as an old man, he was poor till he died.
Have you not seen cases when a man will call his son strong head? He will never pass in school, anything he does he will end up with the last position, your brain will be like a stone. So, this boy’s mother called him Jabez because I bore you out of sorrow, The boy refused to take the name. He changed his destiny through prayer. ChurchGist. You’re there looking and you’re been called patience and for 14 years no husband is showing forth, pray. You’re so patient, anything you want you just have to be patient before you can have it. Please pray, your mother named you patience because she was patient before she married your father. A man called his son’s name Endurance. I said change this boy’s name. If you endure to get a job, must this boy endure to get anything too, I told him to change it. I have. A boy who works with me, his name was Fortitude, I called him. I said I know your father gave you this name when he lost somebody, go and find out from him, fortitude to bear the loss, I said ask your father how your name came. I strongly believe that someone died. I told him to change it to fortune, fortitude is not good.
So, this young man was called Jabez, see what he did in 1st Chronicles 4:9-10. If you want destiny to change, pray. Oh God this is not your purpose for my life, I can’t be like this begging from hand to mouth, change my story. I prayed my family (before my own family) into the limelight when I became born again. Nothing was working, I can still remember the way I prayed, I got up around 2am and I said God this is not your purpose. My father worked close to 40 years in a shell and there was nothing to show for it. I prayed that everyone that I am connected to must be blessed and chains were broken and people began to rise. ChurchGist. Today any family I am connected to people rises, don’t watch what you don’t want. Stop complaining to people, in the whole of our family nobody has money, pray you should have money. Jabez said no! This is not God’s purpose for my life.
Jacob did the same thing, Genesis 32:24-28. At the end of this service, I will leave you for some 5 minutes. Check everybody who changed their lives they were alone, Jacob alone, Hannah alone, Jesus alone, Elijah alone, all these group prayers are good but when it comes to heavy weight transformation it’s you alone. ChurchGist. You will stand alone and say oh God of Heaven this is not how it should be, for 5 years, for what? Hand to mouth, one room, for 5 years. I come out of this struggle I must move to where I ought to be. You want to change your destiny? Pray! Say with me: I will pray for my destiny to change.
9) IT IS WITH PRAYERS THAT YOUR NEEDS ARE MET, DOORS ARE OPENED AND RESISTANCE IS CLEARED.
Matthew 7:7-8. Ask because it’s available, seek because it’s hiding, knock because there is a resistance.
10) PROPHECIES ARE FULFILLED.
No matter what God said here (the Bible) it will never be fulfilled without prayers. Prophecies is not somebody standing before you, many of you think prophecy is when someone stands before you with dada, Rastafarian hair, the sure word of prophecy is every word of God. Is that clear? For instance, God’s Word said you shall be the head and not the tail, that’s prophecy, whatsoever you lay your hands upon shall prosper, say to the righteous it shall be well with him, anything written in God’s Word is prophecy. 2nd Peter 1:19-21. Prophecy is every Word of God that concerns you, claiming prophecy without prayer is trying to pluck a star with your bare hands. ChurchGist. God said your Church will be big does not mean you will just be doing nothing and your Church will be big. No! You say I’ll be the head and not the tail. No! You don’t claim prophecies like that. 1st Timothy 1:18. You must war out every scripture before you rule. You will fight out the Word in prayers. God has said you will marry this year, you don’t sit down to just say that I will marry this year, it’s not a lie, God said so but you’ll war it out. Deuteronomy 2:24. It’s yours but only the violent in prayers will take what belongs to them by force, no contention no possession.
Everything God has said to you; you have to contend for it in prayers, that’s where Christian miss it, God said you will be the Governor, you won’t just fold your hand, you will contend for it in prayers. God said you’ll be a multi-billionaire you shall lend to Nations, don’t sit, while you’re paying your tithe and offering, you’ll contend in prayers.
11) PRAYERS MAKE YOU LIVE A CONSECRATED LIFE.
Matthew 15:19-20, 26:41. You can’t live a holy life if you don’t pray, because somethings will fight you, No! This thing can destroy me, No! This habit can’t kill me, in the name of Jesus I cast it out.
12) PRAYERS HELP YOU TO LOCATE DIRECTION.
Jeremiah 33:3. It was in prayer that I knew God was sending me to Port Harcourt, there is no Port Harcourt in the Bible, have you seen it anywhere? Hello! It was in prayers that God told me to go to Port Harcourt. Listen, when I became born again, I didn’t know what to do, so, I prayed in my little way. I said God now you’ve called I don’t even know how to preach, I was coming from the other side and God called me and I said God I don’t know anything, He said go to Bible School and he called Papa Oyedepo’s name, I have never met him before in my life, He said I should go, that he will train me there for 1 year and when I went, they said they were going to start Bible School for the first time. So, God saw it in the beginning and I prayed, if I didn’t pray there is a school in Victoria Island, someone was telling me to go to that school, proximity does not mean connectivity. ChurchGist. The school was nearby but if I had gone to that school, I wouldn’t have been in ministry. They said that one is very close, why do you have to go to Victoria Island to Iyana Ipaja, I said God told me to go to Iyana Ipaja, not this one close to me, that a Church is close to you does not mean that’s your Church. Some people will say the Church is close to me that’s why I am attending, you’re not revived, you’re not doing anything you’re still going there. Thank you o.
You go there and go back and you get angry, when you’re in a Church and you’re getting angry, you don’t know that the Church is not your place, why are you going there to criticize the pastor? That shows you’re bigger than the place, you enter there and you’re saying the man doesn’t know what to preach, anytime he’s preaching I am vexing. Yet you’re still there. ChurchGist. I left for Iyana Ipaja a distance so far, because that’s where I am going to be revived, say I hear, if I didn’t pray, I wouldn’t have known where God would have sent me. Some of you, all your problems now, you’ve not prayed, you’re busy telling everybody I don’t know where to locate this business whether to locate it in Area A, Area B or Area C, pray and let God guide you. You’ve not prayed but you’re busy telling everybody, I don’t know whether I will go to America, Canada or Mexico, all of them are not in America, so which one do I go to? Pray to God: oh God, which country do you want me to go to? Because not every door is God’s door. Yet you’re asking; can you tell me the philosophy of Canada? What do you think, looking at Canada, Italy and America, where do you think I should go?
A man should tell you where, yet you’ve not prayed to God. I think if you go to Canada, it’s very good. ChurchGist. You know it’s very quiet, British, French. But in America everywhere is noisy, but they may be the place God wants you to go, but pray, you’ve not prayed but you’re busy telling people. If I asked for anybody’s opinion, I wouldn’t have come to Port Harcourt, you know why? They would have told me don’t go to Port Harcourt; they don’t go to Church. But God told me to go to Port Harcourt, see as the place is flourishing? Pray!
13) PRAYERS SILENCE YOUR ENEMIES.
Stop crying to your enemies, go and pray about your enemies, no weapon formed against me shall prosper. Isaiah 54:17. So, you’ll pray, don’t just use English. Isaiah 54:14-15. So, people gathering against you is not anything to worry about. If they are not gathering against you then you’re not making progress. Everyone gathering against us will scatter. Every door, whether in writing. ChurchGist. I will tell you something that happened long ago, when they wrote about me in social media, one man carried in his head to carry the fake news because he was very popular. So, I just took his paper and cursed him in the name of Jesus, he has not come out of his problem till today, they have locked him, he is in different kinds of trouble. Since he has decided to carry fake news, his own will be very real that he’s not going to come out, I didn’t go to complain, you’re a Christian, stop going to fight people anyhow; I went to my strength, I said since you said you want to fight me, I will fight you with my own strength. I said I curse you in the name of Jesus and you will never come out of your crisis till Jesus comes, till today he’s not out.
That is the weapon we have, somebody wants to be your enemy, stop going to prophets all around, sit down and fight him in prayers, No weapon and tongues (both mouth and in writing). So, you go in prayer. ChurchGist. A man tried this Church and I said be poor in one year, that man is broke, he was one of the richest in this country, he is broke today. I saw it in the bible, Revelation 17:17. “in one hour so shall thy poverty come” that was the scripture I used. I said now be poor since you want to worry me. You give the man who wants to fight you a one-hour timeline, you fast till you pray, I command you to be broke in 1 hour, since you want to use your money to fight me. If Christians know the power of prayer, they won’t be doing what they are doing.
When your enemy gang up against you; you go inside because the weapon you have, they don’t have it. Isaiah 8:9-10. Every gang up against me you’re cursed, that’s how you pray. Anyhow you want to pray it, you pray. That’s how powerful prayer is.
- YOU ENJOY LASTING LEAVE THROUGH PRAYER.
Philippians 4:6-7. You want to enjoy peace? Let me tell all married people, the only way to enjoy peace in your marriage is through prayers. Because Satan hates a successful marriage, you know why? God said if two of you shall agree as touching anything. ChurchGist. So, he knows the husband and wife are so powerful. So, he brings discord of all kinds, so if you’re prayerful he has no access and Christians don’t pray, so Satan attacks the marriage, no peace. You’re seeing your house, confusion everywhere, your children are fighting you, you’re fighting your children, God is not the author of confusion. So, wherever there is confusion, Satan is involved and then the only thing that you can use to cast him out is prayer. When you see confusion everywhere, prayer is weak, problems everywhere, do you know that many Christians don’t pray, they wake up in the morning and they are on calls, no prayers. Pray before you start calling. A Yoruba man had an uncle whose name was Also, so when phones were not popular, everywhere he went he was hearing: Hello! Hello! So, he called his brother, Alao must be very rich, he said everywhere I go it’s always Hello! Hello! He thought they were saying Also! He didn’t know they were saying Hello!
Are you blessed today? In anything the first thing you should do is what? Pray before you go to tell people? Pray.
But I will teach you within these three days how to pray. Because many times we don’t even know what to pray and how to pray, I am going to teach you how to pray, prayer is taught.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DON’T PRAY?
1) YOU WOULD NOT GET RESULTS.
Satanic force will resist you without prayers and confession of God’s Word, anywhere you lack results, prayer is not there. James 4:7. So, Satan will resist you and make sure you don’t get results when there is no prayer, if it’s a Church, the Church will never grow, if it’s business, the business won’t grow, your life will be without results, are you hearing me? When there are no prayers there will be no results and where there are no results there will be insults, because a man without results everybody will insult you. ChurchGist. Today, people don’t like prayer, if you say let’s pray, they will be negligent, they want money instead. You will never result if you don’t pray.
This Church prays oh, hope you know we pray? We have 12 o’ clock prayers every day except Saturday and Sunday. Hope you know? Some of you have never attended before, this Church prays oh, in fact before you become a pastor you will go through prayer. ChurchGist. Some of them when they saw prayer they ran away. When we employed them, they thought they were just coming to wear coats, I said on your mark, get set, pray. Some of them said sir, this is not what I applied for, you applied only to wear a suit and stand here, common, pray. If you’re not ready for prayers you won’t be a pastor here. Many of the pastor you’re seeing today they were actually much when they started, but like the parable of the seed Sower, some fell by the way side and left, when they saw prayer they said sir, I thought they said you gave cars and the rest, that’s why I came, I said thank you oh, before the car, stand here you will pray. If your Christianity is without prayer you won’t last, I can tell, any Christian who does not pray is very dangerous, you will never get results.
2) YOU’LL BE VERY CARNAL.
It is a strong prayer life that destroys the flesh. In the presence of the Holy Spirit the carnal nature died. Luke 22:40. So, when you’re not prayerful you will be so carnal
In the morning when you wake up, you will not think of God first, the first thing you’re thinking about is nonsense, your mind will never coordinate with the things of God, your reasoning will be totally carnal.
3) YOU WILL GIVE ROOM FOR SATANIC ATTACK
When you don’t pray you give room for Satanic attacks. 1st Peter 5:8. The devil goes about to and fro looking for who is not praying, he knocks, when he hears prayer, he will leave that door, he goes about looking for whom he may devour, those who are not praying. So, he can make them craze. He just goes about, that’s his work, he will say this one is weak, he doesn’t pray, let me show him. He won’t show you. 2nd Corinthians 2:11. You know his device? He won’t allow you to pray, this kind of meeting, he will say what are you coming to do, you don’t really have a problem, do you have any problem? You’re very okay. After all they just promoted you in your office, you have money, people praying are poor. ChurchGist. A man at the pinnacle of the political system in Nigeria came to me and he walked with some people into my office, he said pastor we would have been coming to church but we really don’t have any problem, I said we don’t worship God because we have problem, we worship God because God is meant to be served.
Not too long from that time he had cancer, they called me from where he was in overseas, then God reminded me of the statement he made. I still prayed for him and God in his mercy healed him but now he can’t make that kind of statement, he knows that “khaki no be leather”. ChurchGist. When the cancer hit him and his life was in danger, he knew that his money couldn’t solve it then I say after me: Lord Jesus, come into my life, right there in the phone. With cancer, if he didn’t say it what concerns me, he accepted Jesus immediately, there is no point of me reminding him if what he said that time. Now, father with this confess let the cancer go and God in his mercy, he knows how he answers. Please, don’t wait for attack before you start praying it’s very dangerous.
Most times the person may not survive the attack, that will not be our portion, so pray as to avert evil. When you’re very prayerful, when evil wants to come you will see the sign, you will see the sign that your prayers have averted the evil. Anytime there is a major evil occurrence there is no prayer. The prayer of Jesus did not save John the Baptist who was his brother. ChurchGist. They cut John the Baptist’s head; he was Jesus’ cousin. Hope you know, some of you will say my brother is a pastor. It’s a big lie, they killed James, yet he was close to John and close to Peter. James 5:13. Please stop having the attitude of I have somebody praying for me, she is my sister, she is a prayer warrior, you too be a prayer warrior.
