THERE IS NO STORM THAT CAN SINK THE BOAT IN WHICH THE PRINCE OF PEACE IS SITTING DOWN. IF JESUS IS IN THE BOAT OF YOUR LIFE, IT CANNOT SINK.
THE ADVANTAGE WE CHRISTIANS HAVE OVER THOSE WHO ARE NOT IS THAT WE HAVE A HEAVENLY BODYGUARD, SO WE CAN SLEEP IN THE MIDST OF ANY STORM.
DON’T KILL YOURSELF WHILE TRYING TO PROTECT YOURSELF BY YOURSELF. THE ONLY TRUE PROTECTION IS FROM GOD. SAFETY IS OF THE LORD.
EVEN THE BEST OF HUMAN BODYGUARDS CANNOT SECURE YOU FROM SPIRITUAL INVADERS.

Almighty God, the Lord of hosts himself. We just want to say thank you because we know if you are on our side we are more than conquerors. Thank you for the victories you have given us in the past, we want to thank you in advance for greater victories ahead. Please accept our thanks in Jesus name. Father speak to us today and draw us closer to yourself in Jesus name.
We continue with our series GOING HIGHER and now we come to part 46. Our text will be 1 Kings 19:4-8.
This part of the story has quite a bit of humour in it, the man who was running from Jezebel because Jezebel said she will kill him, is now asking God to kill him. One would have said “Sir, if you wanted to die why didn’t you wait for Jezebel. There is already someone who volunteered to do the job for you. Now you are asking God to be a murderer”. After He said that one, He just laid down and slept. Sir, I thought you are running away from trouble, what if that fellow you are running away from is chasing you and they find you sleeping?”. Elijah was sleeping in a storm, and he is giving us a lesson on how to handle storms. How can you be sleeping when you are in a storm? Let me start by praying for anyone who might be going through a storm now: the Almighty God will see you through. He slept because Psalm 127:2 says “God gives His beloved sleep”. Church Gist. You don’t know you are sleeping until they wake you up. I am sure he didn’t know that he was sleeping. God saw that he was tired and said “okay! You want me to kill you? Sleep first and then we’ll talk. He slept because he was tired, he has been running from Mount Carmel to Jezreel and Isaiah 40:30 says even young men get tired. It doesn’t matter how strong you are, you will get tired. Why should I sleep when I am in a storm? don’t forget you have a heavenly bodyguard. Psalm 121-1-4. There is someone watching over you, sleep.
In 1 Samuel 26:1-25, we see the great advantage those of us who are Christians have over those who are not. King Saul was surrounded by royal guards, mighty men of valour but they all slept. David came, took away the sword of the king, took his drinking water bottle and left. When he got away he then cried out to the Head of the Security, we thought you are mighty looking after the king, look at what happened. That’s why I always smile when I see people who surround themselves with bodyguards. Church Gist. If you think these people can take care of you, you are dead. How much are you going to pay a bodyguard who is carrying a little revolver when he comes against those who are carrying AK-47, how much are you going to pay me that I will sacrifice my life for you. Thank God there is someone who neither sleeps nor slumbers, He is the bodyguard of all Christians.
In Acts 12:5-11, there is this story that tells you that the best of bodyguards cannot protect you against spiritual invaders. Even when your doors were well locked, Peter was in maximum security prison and an angel walked through, the people who were there were dead asleep, the doors open on their own accord. So you think you are secure because your house has a mighty wall around it and barbed wire, electric wires etc. can all those stop witches and wizards from coming in?
So you ask “how dare you sleep in a storm?”. I am sure you might want to ask Elijah when you see him in heaven. There is an important lesson to learn there for every child of God: Don’t kill yourself, trying to protect yourself. The only protection is from God. David said in Psalm 4:8 “I sleep in peace because only God makes me dwell in safety”. Safety is of the Lord.
Psalm 119:165, Philippians 4:2-7 tells that there is a peace of God that passes all understanding. Why are you worrying because you don’t know what will happen tomorrow? Isaiah 3:10 makes it clear “Say ye to the righteous, it shall be well with him”. If you are a child of God your tomorrow will be alright. Philippians 1:6 says He that started the good works in you will complete the job. Stop worrying, oh there is bad news everywhere. Church Gist. Anytime you put on the television, you hear bad news that will frighten you. In the olden days when there is any problem in town, people run to the army barracks to be saved. Now the army barracks itself needs protection. Who ever heard of robbers or thieves going to the palace? It was an abomination. Now, they don’t only go to the palace to steal, they go to kidnap the one who is supposed to be second in command to the idol. When you are a child of God, safety is of the Lord. Relax.
Hebrews 9:27
It is appointed of man to die only once, until that time comes nobody can kill you. David said in Psalm 31:15 “my times are in your hands oh Lord”. Put your time in His hand and relax. Follow Jesus’ example in Mark 4:35-41, there was a storm and what did he do? He slept. He is our commander in chief, he is our leader. He slept. Why did he sleep? Because he knows the end from the beginning. Church Gist. Revelation 1:8 says he is the Alpha and Omega. He knows the end from the beginning, whether you believe it or not, God knows how you are going to end. Hebrews 13:8 God says I will never leave you nor forsake you.
I know you will say “maybe you are saying this because you have never experienced a storm”. I have, physical and spiritual, all manner of storms. I have told you the story of my first cruise, some of my children said they wanted me to rest so they bought a ticket to go on a cruise. The best place to holiday is on a cruise, they rejoice in over feeding you. In the ship, I think there were about 24 restaurants and you don’t need a pass to enter. Once you are on the boat, you can eat in all 24 restaurants in one day if you want to. They even have a special buffet for midnight. I enjoyed myself and I ate until a storm came. The storm took that massive boat and tossed it two stories high and dropped it and everything was scattered all over the place. Things got so bad, the captain called us and said “don’t worry there are twelve categories of storms beginning from category 1, don’t worry we are only in category 10. Go to your cabin and relax”. Church Gist. I got to my cabin and said God what am I doing here, what can I do now? God said to me “when I was in the world and there was a storm what did I do? I said you slept. He said “Sleep!”. I jumped on my bed and within two minutes I slept off. By the time I woke up, we were already by land. I didn’t know when the storm ended. Relax my brother, relax my sister God is in control. There is no storm that can sink the boat in which the Prince of Peace is sitting down. If Jesus is in the boat of your life, it cannot sink.
Elijah had been in a storm before and that is probably one of the reasons he slept. In 1 Kings 18:7-18 he came face to face with Ahab who said “Hey! I have found you. You are the one that has been troubling Israel, I have been looking for you”. He knew God was on his side, so he looked at the king and said “I am not the one troubling Israel, you are the one troubling Israel ”. The King couldn’t touch him. When you know that God has stilled storms before either for you or for some you know, you can relax. For example, in 2 Kings 5:1-14, He cleansed Namaan a leper and that is why in Matthew 8:1-3, when the leper came to him, he said “I know you have done it before and you can do it”. Church Gist. Another fellow that we found sleeping in a storm is our friend Peter in Acts 12:5-11, he knew they were going to kill him the following morning yet he slept and an angel came and set him free. How could Peter be sleeping in the midst of a storm? Because in Acts 5:16-29, he had been imprisoned before and an angel had come to set him free. The God who did it before will do it again. If Jesus is in your boat, your boat cannot sink. Because I have been in a storm before and I know that He doesn’t change. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. After that first storm there had been others but I wasn’t moved.
I was going to London, somebody bought me ticket in First Class as we were just settling down in the air, they had just served us food and the pilot came and said “Ladies and gentlemen, the weather boys tell us that by the time we get to London there is going to be a big storm but don’t worry we all are going to manage to land. The fellow who was sitting next to me froze. I just smiled, he couldn’t touch his food. I finished my food and I turned to him and said “Sir, you are not eating?”. He was surprised, he thought I don’t understand English. He said “you heard what the pilot said?” I said Yes. I turned to him again and said “you are not eating?” He said “no”. I was young then and hungry, the food they give you in economy is not enough for a hungry young man. Church Gist. Can I help you? He said Yes. I gave him my empty tray and he gave me his tray. I finished his food and went to sleep. We got to London and the pilot said “we are very sorry the weather boys deceived us, the storm is going to be in Scotland not in London”. I looked at my neighbour, he looked at me and we both began to laugh. He couldn’t get his food back, we were laughing out of relief. If there is any storm in your life remember God has stilled storms before, He will do it again.
John 16:33 Jesus didn’t say sailing through life is going to be storm free, what he said is “I will be there with you”. When you are passing through waters, I will make sure the river doesn’t overflow you. When you are passing through fire, that fire will not burn you. That is the promise of God, but that promise is only for His children. If you are not a child of God, the storm that is going to sweep you off your feet might just be around the corner. But if you give your life to Jesus Christ now then the devil will have lost the battle forever. If you want to give your life to Jesus Christ, bow your head and cry to Him to save you, ask Him to come into the boat of your life so that from now on you can weather any storm safely.
My Father and my God, I want to thank you for your word. Thank you Prince of peace that you are able to still any storm. As for us who are your children who might be going through one kind of storm or the other now in the mighty name of Jesus Christ I decree “peace be still” in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

Thank You Father for this morning, blessed be Your name for Your word. Thank You for the things we have seen this morning, we worship and honour You, in Jesus precious name.
Habakkuk 2:1 I speak very quickly on the subject: POSTURE (POSITIONING) FOR DIVINE DIRECTION. Our objective is; understanding the right posture or positioning for divine direction. It has been made abundantly clear that divine direction is a vital necessity, not just for the Christian life but for existence as a whole. Church Gist. That is, God leading a person, guiding a person – very important and I want you to know the following reasons: 1). Life itself is at the mercy of direction from God. That is, people can die before their time because of something they didn’t hear from God.
2). People can be victims of the wrong and disastrous relationships for lack of direction from God. Talk of friendship relationships, business relationships, marital relationships, because there was something God was trying to say, they couldn’t hear; that this man is not a friend, this person can’t be your husband, this person can’t be your wife, but they never heard.
3). People become victims of massive losses in investment and other areas, for failing to hear from God. Church Gist. There are people who have lost millions and billions because God was saying something they never heard, either God was saying, “don’t put money here or remove this money from here now!” They didn’t hear.
4). Many are victims of chronic stagnation and delay for failing to hear God. That is, life on the same spot because until you know what to do, you don’t leave where you are.
5). Many are victims of labour without reward and labour in frustration because of labouring in the wrong endeavour; pouring their energy in areas that don’t need their energy at all.
It is very important to know what do I do to hear God. What is the right posture, how do I position my life, mind to hear God? 1). Be desperate to know the mind of God. Church Gist. Be desperate to know the will of God per time (Hosea 6:3). If we persist in knowing, we will know (Habakkuk 2:1).
I have said many times, you can’t have insight until you have interest; you can’t have insight where you don’t have interest. I have observed from my own experience and the experience of others that desperation is key to direction and God will not bother you with what does not bother you. If it doesn’t bother you to know the mind of God for various areas of your life, God will not bother you with what does not bother you. Church Gist. As a growing young man on fire for God, thirty something years ago, one of the things I feared the most was to miss God; miss God either in getting married, getting into ministry; there was such a level of desperation; “Lord, I can’t miss you.” It pushed me into three days fasting dry, seven days fasting without food – all manner, at various junctions and by the mercy of God, He helped at various junctions to step into what was His will.
I prophesy upon somebody here today, you will not miss God in your life and destiny!
2). Possess the quality of meekness (Psalm 24:9). The meek is the only one qualified for guidance, not the proud, not the arrogant. The meek is the only one qualified to be taught the way of God.
When we talk about meekness, what are talking about?
i). Ability to be taught – teachability ii). Ability to be corrected iii). Ability to make a U-turn when you realize you have made the wrong turn and God sees the meek and He knows.
The reason why there is so much frustration in this world is because meek people are scarce. Nobody saw God like Moses, nobody heard God like Moses. God said if there was any prophet I spoke to in parables, in visions but my servant Moses is not like that. I spoke to him, face to face. Church Gist. What qualified Moses for that level of hearing God? Numbers 12:3 gave us an answer. He was Meeker than anyone in his generation and he heard God more than anyone in his generation. He saw God more than anyone in his generation.
Meekness means, this move I made is a wrong move, so I’m back. He said, no matter how far you have gone in the wrong direction, make a U-turn when you know that you are wrong. There are people who packed their loads out of this Country, arrived in UK and by the first day of their arrival, everything inside them said, “you are in the wrong place.” Peace is lost, joy is lost, everything is just like Sahara Desert but who are they to make U-turn: “what will people say if I go home? They will say I am confused, is it not America that people are succeeding? I will remain here.” Church Gist. They would rather die with the wrong step than to make a change. That is where there is a bankruptcy of meekness. They would remain there for 15 years, suffer for those 15 years and then said, “alright, let me just go back home.” That is 15 years wasted forever, 15 years that could have been applied in another direction more profitable; wasted forever because meekness was lacking.
There are people who are in relationship, after one week of interacting with this man or this woman, it is clear to them that they have missed it. This can’t be your wife or husband. Every single day of their lives remind them that they are with the wrong person. “But I’ve wasted too much time, I’ve been single for long. Let me just marry and even if it doesn’t work, at least let them say she got married before.” Wedding card is out, what is wedding card compared to destiny and to the fulfilment of your life’s assignment?
There was a time our Church in Area One, the Church – Dunamis Church worldwide was one only branch in Area One and they said, some people are coming from Nyanya, Mararaba and they were unable to cope, so let’s assist them with a branch there. At that time, God never spoke to us about branch. So, according to the leading of the people, not the leading of God, we took a branch to them in Nyanya. Church Gist. That branch lasted for only about five weeks. When the Lord showed to me that He was not involved and that He didn’t give us any direction to start a branch; I told the pastor that time, “return back to base on the spot.” He said, “what do I do with the equipment?” I said, “dash them to any church that is nearby.” What about the people? “Anyone who cannot come from there, they should find nearby churches there. So, we returned back to base and continued until the marching order came to now step into the City. Now there are over a hundred Churches scattered here and there, some running four, five services. We went when it was commanded and He became committed. But when you do the things that God has not commanded, it requires your commitment to make it work. This is very important; don’t ever be to proud to say “I am wrong.” As prophetic as Samuel was, he was wrong.
I listened to God’s servant, Bishop Oyedepo and from the testimonies I heard from him, I think he made more wrong steps than right steps except that he received corrections and then made a U-turn immediately. For example, when he was commissioned to Ministry, the address of the Headquarters of the Ministry was Jos. That was when they commissioned him in 1983, September by Pastor E. A Adeboye, laid hands on him and commissioned him. “Everybody, Jos is ready, people have been in Jos for one full year, they have secured an office, ready to move to Jos; “we release this servant of the Lord to go to Jos” and as the commissioning was over and he was praying, God said, “you are going to know Jos.” He said what? God said, “it was not me you heard. You heard your heart. Church Gist. Do you remember in 1974, when you were playing table tennis around the Jenta Area of Jos? At that time, you told yourself, ‘If I have the choice of where to live in the future, Jos will be the place.’ It is that choice you heard, not me. As for you, I will have you to remain here, at Ilorin there.” From there, what do we do from Jos? All of you return back. All the people who saw me, praying for me to go to Jos, when I tell them, I’m not going to Jos.” What will they say, won’t they say I am confused?” It is immaterial, we don’t move by sentiment, we move by His voice.
When you are married to your mistakes you continue to deliver regrets. There are people who want to remain married to the mistake and because of what will people say, they just remain with what is wrong and they continue to deliver regrets for life.
That will never be your portion!
I have so many things I could say on this point; you are about to go on a wrong journey at the motor pack, you have paid the transport fare and you realized that you are not to take the trip and you said, give me back my money and they said, we can’t give you back your money because you took another person’s space. Church Gist. You said, okay, let me just go on the journey. For where? Make a U-turn. You don’t know what is ahead of you, it’s better to lose the transport fare, than to lose your life before time.
Every time there is a mistake, where possible, there can be a retake. If you miss the take, repeat the take. Only few areas where you have married the wrong person – very difficult. That one is like a fixed deposit.
3). Commit your steps to the Lord: “I am about to do this; Lord, I commit it to you.” (Proverbs 3:5-6), don’t trust your brain to give you direction (Psalm 37:5). Don’t take important steps or make important moves, major business decisions, marriage decisions, career, relocation decisions without checking it out with the Lord.
I heard from Kenneth Hagin that a businessman under his ministry once came to him and said, he had never made a transaction that he lost. He has never put his money in the wrong business before and Kenneth Hagin said, that cannot be possible. How can that be possible? The man said, it is very easy. I have a pent house in my house that is like my Holy of holies. If I have a business, I go before the Lord and I present it before the Lord; I commit it to the Lord. If I have the green light, I go ahead. If I have red light, that is no go area at all. If I have yellow light, I wait. For that purpose, I have never put my money in anything that is not of God, that God did not approve of.
We live in a world today where people are in a hurry, things must happen very fast. We want to do things in our own way and bring it to God to stamp it. God said, “I don’t operate like that”. But hear this: Not every good idea is a God idea; there are good ideas that are traps in disguise. Church Gist. The idea looks good but it is not God and it is better to be slow and sure than to be fast and fail. Committing things into the hands of the Lord may appear slow but it is sure. Doing things our own way may appear fast but it fails.
You will not fail another time!
Sometimes ago, I got bothered about marital failure. Why is that we have so much marital failure in our generation? And as I enquired, I realized first of all that, not many marriages have any root in God. That is, people made their decisions without God involved. Secondly, most marriages today have foundations that are not clean, people have met with each other severally before officially coming to the altar to say, they are going to get married. Church Gist. Thirdly, many other marriages, there is no foundation of the Word. So, the things are just failing here and there. But it is very important to commit your steps to the Lord. If God knows that you don’t do anything until you hand it over to Him, He will guide you into the right things
4). Possess the attitude of enquiry, that is the capacity to ask questions (Jeremiah 6:16, Matthew 7:7-8). Answers are the products of questions; until questions are asked, answers are never accessed, especially the right questions. Don’t be afraid to ask questions because God is looking for who to answer. At the place of prayer, Abraham asked questions; Lord if you find so many righteous men in Sodom, will You still destroy it?” God said, no! David asked several questions: “Should I pursue this troop?”
Divine direction is the backbone of spiritual conquerors. Do you know the reason why David lost no battle? He was always asking God questions.
You will miss it another time!
God’s servant, Bishop Oyedepo said, after they have been given the certificate for the opening of the University, Covenant University, while everyone was happy, he was still not happy. He held the certificate and he said; “Oh Lord, are you in this thing or we just want to open something? If you are not in it, I will tear it now” and God said, “I am the One, go ahead.” He said, at a point, they needed about two billion in the course of the construction and they brought some bank people to assist them and give them loan and he heard the voice of God said to him, (he was not going to take it anyway because he said, if God cannot build it, who can run it and then, God built it under seven months; facilities for people to come to the hostel, within seven months and he held the certificate and he told God, now we are dedicating, what do we do?) God said, “lie down on the bare floor, at the gate of the University and hand it over” and he laid down at the bare floor. He said, the heat from the ground entered his body as he laid down there. That was the last heat he ever felt regarding running that school – the school is moving smoothly because of hearing and asking.
What does asking questions do? i). God loves to be asked. The way a father enjoys questions from children, God loves to be asked (Psalm 2:8, Matthew 7:7).
ii). Asking is proof of human helplessness and dependence on God. You are showing that you are helpless and God will never abandon the helpless.
iii). Asking opens up the mind and heart to answers (Proverbs 20:5).
What kind of question are you asking? a). Lord, is there something You are saying and I am not hearing? Please say it in a language I can understand. b) Lord, is there something I am doing that I am not meant to be doing? Please let me see, let know. c). Lord, what is the mystery behind this struggle? Show me. Church Gist. d) Lord, what do I do for this Church to move to the next level? What do I do to move my life and you are not asking in anger because there are people who are asking like they are quarreling with God. God is not your age mate so He can’t be threatened.
You ask revelation expectation questions. You ask with the mentality; I am going to hear something. He is going to say something. Even if He doesn’t say it now, in the course of studying the Word, soon I will hear something.
I prophesy to somebody here, in the name of Jesus, before the next one week is over, every question you are going to ask God, the answers shall be released to you!
Lift up your right hand and say, “Father, I’m going to be asking You questions and I will receive answers. You won’t waste my time. I will ask You questions and I will receive answers. Thank You Lord, in the name of Jesus.”
There are times to be patient with God. God’s servant, Bishop Oyedepo said he asked God one question about the current construction going on, money is ready, everything was ready to start construction and he said to God, “What about this construction?” God said, “Don’t ask me about it again until I tell you about it” and he abandoned the subject completely. When it was time for me to think of marriage, God spoke to me and said, “I want you now to pray to me to show you who will be your partner, your associate in life and in ministry” and then, I separated myself. So, there are things that God will draw your attention to as you have the attitude and the posture of enquiry, He will draw your attention at the appropriate time and if your time is up and you are not yet hearing, I declare from today, your ear is opened and you shall not miss God another time!
5). Be charged with the Word of God (Ephesians 5:26, Psalm 29:3). The Word of God is the Companion of the voice of God. The voice of God is the container of the Word of God. Church Gist. Every time you are in church with the Word, you are potentially in touch with the voice. Whenever you are in touch with the Word, you are in touch with the voice.
When you know somebody and someone said, so and so person said this, you will be able to say yes, he can say such a thing. This is what the Word of God does for you: i). The Word of God familiarizes a person with the voice of God. It helps you to recognize the voice of your Maker and different it from the voice of a stranger.
ii). The Word of God connects you to the Person of God (John 1:1, 1 Corinthians 14:10). I’ve told you my testimony before, when I was growing up as a Christian, almost everybody around me could see vision, prophesy and do things but I could see nothing. Church Gist. So, I felt maybe something was wrong with me. So, I made the decision to dive into the Word and then, out of the Word began to come His voice. The things I heard from the Word that I spoke, came with accuracy, force and power. From that Word of God, everything exploded. One day I was studying the scripture and I was studying 2 Timothy and in-between, I blinked a little bit, suddenly, I was seeing something. I have forgotten the realm where people were operating in. I decided to dive into the Word and from that Word, the voice of God came strong and loud.
I speak to somebody here today, in the name that is above every name, in this season, the voice of God shall come strong for you!
Pray abundantly in the Spirit. Praying in the spirit primes or stirs the activity of the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 1:6) and one major activity of the Holy Spirit is to give directions (Romans 8:14). Church Gist. When you pray abundantly in the spirit, you are stirred up and the leading of the Spirit can easily come.
When God said, “it’s time for Him to show me who to marry,” I stirred the spirit, praying abundantly in the spirit and as I would pray, one segment of my wife to be then, sister Becky showed up. The next day, another segment. All of a sudden, it came together. That was how it happened to me. The manner of the leading was very sweet. So, most times God will show you things one step at a time. It came together because I have seen her fervency in the Lord, preaching in buses, front of hostels, for one reason or the other, it never crossed my wildest imagination that she will be my wife. I was only wishing her well in her future and to wish her that a wrong man shouldn’t marry such a fire brand and I think God answered my prayers for her because I am not a bad husband. Church Gist. That is what praying in the Holy Spirit does for you.
When I was at a junction of my life; “am I to go to the United Kingdom because we had openings, my wife and I? Am I to do somethings in Nigeria here, my interest is in the surgery area? Am I to go somewhere in the middle East where they said they would be paying doctors five thousand dollars in a month, twenty something years ago? These were three openings, Lord where should I go? So I stepped into the bush, to the mountain and prayed in the spirit. The whole of the first day, twenty-four hours, nothing was heard. The next day, morning till evening, about the evening of the second day, around 36 hours, then, “what I told you about ten years ago concerning my assignment for your life, this is the time.” I thought I would practice medicine and then preach by the side. Still praying in the spirit, where is it? “Abuja City, Nigeria.” I don’t know anybody there. If I go there now, I don’t know where to sleep.” But it was coming and coming – detailed. The challenge of people is, if they start praying now and they don’t hear anything from morning till night, then God is not talking. It’s a enough.
I announce to somebody, before this week is out, clarity shall come for somebody!
i). Praying in the Spirit sharpens our spiritual sensitivity, your ability to pick signals.
ii). Praying in the Spirit helps you to tap into the frequency of mysteries and mysteries are hidden secrets (1 Corinthians 14:2). They include things about your future, your martial destiny, career, assignment – you are tapping into that realm as you pray abundantly in the spirit.
iii). Praying in the Spirit irrigates the spirit of man with information and understanding. Oral Roberts said, it was by praying in tongues and understanding what he was praying that he realized that he was to build Oral Roberts University (1 Corinthians 14:15). Church Gist. The prophetic realm especially prophesying directly began to operate in my life many years ago from the closet. I prayed so much in the closet until I now began to speak things in English that I didn’t mediate on that was coming like tongues. So, you pray in the spirit and then you pray in the understanding and then, you hit the road running.
Someone, get set because you will not miss it another time!
Go ahead and appreciate God, worship Him, honour Him, adore Him.
A major way into the realm of unbelievable wealth is divine direction. That is, money that will shock you and shock your world (Isaiah 45:1-3). Hidden riches are not found carelessly. Church Gist. There are treasures inside darkness; under the cover of darkness, there are things there and God is revealing and unveiling them to us right now.
PRAYERS:
Father, I am ready, I am available. Led me, give me access to the treasures of darkness. I am ready to be led, guided and directed in my life and in my destiny. I surrender my life to You; lead me Lord, guide me Lord, direct me Lord, in the name of Jesus.
Father, I put my hands into Your Hands oh Lord, lead me by Your hand into the treasures of darkness and into the hidden riches of secret places; I receive Your leading now.
Zachariah 1:17 God empowers His people who will spread His Kingdom with wealth; buy evangelism Airbus like you are buying a bus. We just got a rural evangelism truck, trailer house. That is, if we get to a village where there is no decent place to sleep, we came with a house that we can sleep in – room, toilet, things inside – acquired for rural mission work. Building churches like water everywhere; “Lord, see me, I am available.” It begins with tithing. You can’t do such a thing if you are struggling with paying ten percent. Church Gist. All these things are anchored on the law of sowing and reaping. I cannot remember that I have been in marriage for 27 years and for one month, we forgot to tithe. Neither can I remember forgetting about tithing since the year of 1986, which is like 36 years now. I was not a pastor, I was not planning to be one. I was just a Christian but I knew that a tenth of what enters my hand belongs to God because I saw it from scripture and I practiced it and it worked. From pocket money of N 30 in the higher institution that I was given by my father then.
There are those who they are consistent today, disappear tomorrow and then they start again. We’re talking about record of no break. As far as I am concerned, it’s better I sleep hungry than not to pay my tithe. Lift your hands and ask for grace for consistency in the practice of the covenant. Grace for consistency in doing the right thing; I receive that grace now.

Thou shall seek Me and find Me when thou shall search for Me with all your heart – Jeremiah 29:13 Please don’t let this season pass without your personal encounter with God. Church Gist. It will be mere religious punishment. Who is this that engaged his heart to seek unto Me? I will turn His story around: That is what God is saying – Jeremiah 30:21 No doubt, many of us must have had some definite encounters. I have had several!!! I have never had a time with God in all my life as I have had this first week and I know He has more in stock for me: Instructions, directions, vivid answers to prayers, to questions. He is no respecter of persons; what He says to one, He says to all. Please don’t toy with this, it is for your advancement. You pray now and He answers: the next 3 minutes. While you have finished your prayer: the next 1 hour, the next 2 hours, the next 2 days, you need to be sensitive. This God is real. Church Gist. We are not faking it here. No.
Don’t look at your size. Compare your size with God, what do you weigh? Next to zero. If the whole world is like a drop of water from a bucket in His sight, how much is your weight in that context? This is one platform that God ordained for us in this Commission that has been changing our story from one level to another. -You are on board this, it must show in your life, in the name of Jesus.
Prayers: Heavenly Father, I ask for a definite encounter for each one in this Service that will keep our lives in continuous advancement in the name of Jesus Christ, so shall it be, in Jesus name.

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH PRAYING FOR YOURSELF. HOWEVER, WHEN IT IS WELL WITH YOU SPIRITUALLY, IT IS WELL WITH YOU ‘EVERWHERE-LY’.

GOD’S PLAN FOR OUR LIVES IS IN HIS BOOK His visions are the unveiling of His plan and purpose as it relates to us – Isaiah 29:11-12 It is only unto us who are born again that the Book is opened, when we are willing to learn. Anybody can understand God if he is willing to learn. My grandmother was illiterate and I asked her, “What is this Church that you carry to Church every Sunday morning when old people go for Communion?” Because in the Anglican (Church), old people go for Communion early morning before Service because that is what they will be eating when they get to Heaven. She said, “that is God’s portion that makes the remainder meaningful”: simple, smart definition of tithing. God’s portion that makes the remainder meaningful. Anybody. The vision for all. My plan and purpose for all of you is in My Book. You are not born again, you can’t access it. Mark 4:11 To us who are saved is given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of God, not “That I didn’t go to school.” You won’t learn, it won’t open.
Very quickly, this morning: WHAT IS GOD’S PLAN FOR COMMANDING US TO FAST? It is a commandment: “When ye fast”, not if ye fast, shut thy door and your Father who sees you in secret will reward you openly – Matthew 6:17-18 “When thou fastest” – Matthew 6:17 “When thou prayest, shut your door” – Matthew 6:6 So the prayer behind the scene is far more powerful than the public prayer. Church Gist. Behind the scene is where prayer has the greatest impact. Behind the scene prayer. I went to the mountain one time, December 1982/ January 1983 with one prayer point, “Lord, disconnect me from those who are going backwards. Connect only to those who are going forward. Hear me Lord.” He heard me. Psalm 1:1-3 I don’t have one single unbeliever as a friend. I can’t cope. There is no way we can cope. I don’t have one friend that has no passion for God and I will never have. It was an all-night prayer: me and God. Behind the scene prayer has far more impact. Demonstrates someone praying aloud in the Church, but prayer empty behind: that won’t work.
For instance, without your delight in the things of God, you can’t win His delight – Psalm 37:4-5 You don’t delight in the things of God, He has no delight in you. Period! When they announce ‘Vision (2022)’ and you say, “we have started again”, He won’t hear one thing you are saying Psalm 102:13-14 You know what fasting does, among other things, it stirs your delight in the Lord. Job 22:26 People without a heart for God have a long way to go, if they ever get there. They are going nowhere Sir. They will be working their own work, pushing and pushing and there is nothing to show. Can’t you see that plan? You want to win His delight, delight in His affairs. They give you ‘Vision 2022’, if they give you, because it is online now, you can toss it around and throw it away. They give you “Kingdom Advancement Prayer”: I don’t need that. Then keep your needs. You don’t seek My Kingdom, I am not committed to your advancement. Nobody promotes himself in an organization. No! It is God that advanced Moses – 1 Samuel 12:6 I can’t promote anybody here and no one here can promote me, but God told me this week, “I am only committed to advance those who are dedicated in advancing My Kingdom!” That is what brought your Church here. From Day 1 till now, “O God, give us money”; “O God, this project”: it is not on our prayer list. “O God, heal the sick, rescue them from being destroyed; save the souls, establish them in the faith; let the outreach endeavours go well and let the unsaved get saved”: That is what we have been doing, 41 years about and He has been changing our level from time to time. I have 33 prayer projects for this season. Apart from, “Lord, just help me to please You, to be in the centre of Your will”, there is nothing personal there. It is not first time, it is not second time, it is not third time, it is not fifth time. There is nothing wrong with it, but when it is well with you spiritually, it is well with you ‘everwhere-ly’. Romans 8:6 -It shall be well with your spirit. Get excited when Kingdom advancement matters are instructed: connect to show that you are delighted in it.
When Coro noisome pestilence hit the world, I said to Jesus, “souls are still there, their problem is not Coro. Their problem is salvation, what way do I go?” And He showed me which way to go. Sir, we had 66,000 that year. When advanced Coro came, I think they call it Coro what? (Whispers in the background: De, the current is Omi*). I can’t understand you. I said, “Jesus, we are set for You, give us 140 (thousand) souls this year.” Yemi, my son, is here: We got 148,000 souls and by our last record, 40,000 of them stepped into this Church. Sir, I am not doing that because I am a Pastor, I have been in it longest time. I was writing something here this week, “my bright cloud days before I was called to Ministry”: My diverse Word encounters and what I was privileged to make out of it. I was holding crusades in 1976, open air crusades. No pay, no offering, no nothing. You would find me in rice market, motor mechanic workshop, tipper workshop. There are few men in this nation that carry my name when it comes to global recognition. Church Gist. Please wake up!!! Get delighted in the Lord. We can even stop here. Just pray, “God, help me to maintain a delight in You and the affairs of Your Kingdom.” One of my prayers, I said, “Lord, help me to maintain Matthew 6:33 as my lifestyle all the days of my life”, not he did it yesterday, he is not doing it today. -In the name of Jesus, the level you cannot imagine, the favour you cannot imagine will begin to rush at you.
There is no plan of God that depends on man for delivery. Man is only called to take advantage of it. “If these ones keep quiet, even stones will rise” – Luke 19:40 No plan of God depends on man for delivery. “If I were in need, would I have called you? No” – Psalm 50:12 You are not qualified, I am not qualified, we are not qualified. All of us are not qualified to be asked to help God solve His problem. Whatever He speaks with His mouth, His hand fulfills it – 1 Kings 8:15 You can’t beat Him, you can’t stop Him and we can’t stop Him. -As the Lord liveth, no one shall be an onlooker this year, but a bona fide partaker of the enviable open rewards that attend to those who delight themselves in the Lord. Isaiah 58:14
I’ve said severally, “you may read all the books that I have been privileged to write and listen to all the tapes on faith, power, anointing; until you discover my heartbeat for God, you have not found my secret” – 1 Corinthians 2:9 -May the love for God have a priority place in your heart so you can leave the realm of struggles and enter into realm of the supernatural, enviable realm of life. You are getting there!! -This is a season of divine opportunities for every member of this family.
WHEN GRACE AND GLORY MERGES, IT IS GOODNESS THAT EMERGES.
YOU CAN’T DOUBT GOD AND SEE HIS GOODNESS.

Psalm 84:11 The Lord bless His Word in Jesus’ name.
Tonight, we shall be looking at: THE GOODNESS OF THE LORD, which is also our intercessory focus because our year of Overflowing Grace and Glory will translate into our year of Overflowing Goodness from the Lord. Because when grace and glory merges, it is goodness that emerges. Church Gist. That was the scripture says in Psalm 84:11. So, when the grace and the glory are together, good things flow effortlessly “…no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.”
When we talk about the goodness of the Lord, what are talking about? 1). It is the goodwill of the Lord. That is, God wishing you well. God is saying, it is well with you. The goodness of the Lord is a department of the blessing of the Lord, God wishing you well and we have said that goodwill is stronger than witchcraft. Church Gist. If God wishes you well, no man, woman or devil can wish you evil and it will succeed.
2). It is the generosity or magnanimity of the Lord.
3). It is the kindness, the charitableness of God. How kind God is, how charitable He is. We are talking about the God who will not see you suffer and allow you to remain in suffering.
You look through scripture, you see people who experienced this goodness of God.
Abraham – he was stranded and grounded until God brought him to a point where He showed the world what He could do to the person who was called a nonentity. Church Gist. In Genesis 12:1-5, we saw how God transformed the life of Abraham and in chapter 13:2.
2). Ruth – A widow, barren, stranger in a strange land. God showed her goodness and kindness until the goodness of the Lord deleted every memory of evil she ever had in her life (Ruth 4:1-end).
3). Solomon. He was a product of a wrong relationship between David and the wife of Uriah, the Hittite by the name Bathsheba, yet God overlooked all of that in His mercy and compassion, probably because of how much Solomon would have been hated and gave Solomon His goodness and wealth that was non-comparable in the then world (1 Kings 10:23-24). He exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom.
The goodness of the Lord, the kindness of the Lord, the generosity of the Lord. When we talk about the goodness of the Lord, it is beyond material things, beyond money. The goodness of the Lord gave Ruth a husband when it was impossible to think of getting married.
The goodness of the Lord gave Abraham a child when it was impossible to think of having a child, that is beyond financial and material explosion.
In this season, I prophesy the goodness of the Lord is coming for somebody, is coming for a family, a community; is happening for a destiny!
WHAT ARE THE THINGS THAT TRIGGER THE GOODNESS OF THE LORD? 1). Faith or belief in God (Psalm 27:13). It is those who believe that see the goodness of the Lord. You can’t doubt God and see His goodness. Church Gist. Abraham was called the father of faith, “…I had fainted, except I believed to see the goodness of the Lord…” To believe is to see. When you believe, you see.
2). The fear of God (Psalm 31:19). Those who fear God have the goodness of the Lord laid up for them. The fear of God is talking about the reverence for God that flows into submission, into worship and adoration.
Upright living (Psalm 84:11). Not crooked living, there are those who are so crooked, nothing is straight about them, nothing is true about them; they are just so crooked. Church Gist. You need to be upright in life, that is, you say what is true. What we see is what is real, not something else. Upright living attracts the goodness of the Lord.
Today, you will experience His goodness like never before!
PRAYER:
Lamentations 3:22-23 Father, thank You for Your goodness and mercies. Thank You Lord for Your help so far in this week of the fast. To You alone be all the praise in the name of Jesus.
Psalm 150:1-2 Father, we thank You for the miracles, signs, wonders and testimonies of the fast so far. Thank You Lord for more testimonies today. To You alone be all the praise in the name of Jesus.
Psalm 84:11, Isaiah 61:9 Father, in this year of Overflowing Grace and Glory, I make demands on Your overflowing goodness in every dimension. Church Gist. I trust that Your goodness shall be visible in every department of my life this year, oh Lord in the name of Jesus.
Psalm 91:10 Father, in this year of Overflowing Grace and Glory, I decree that no evil shall befall me and my family and no plague shall come near our dwelling, oh Lord in the name of Jesus.
Mark 2:1-2 Father, we ask that You manifest Yourself mightily in the third service of Grace and Glory tomorrow. Let the news, let the noise and fragrance of Your presence drag the multitudes unto salvation and discipleship and let not one person return back the same way they came, oh Lord in the name of Jesus.
Lamentations 3:37 Father, we ask that You frustrate the decrees, devices and program of the wicked against our Nation, Nigeria, against our lives. Let only Your decrees and Your design for Nigeria, for our Country, for our lives stand, oh Lord in the name of Jesus.
In Jesus precious name!

I prophesy to everyone here today and every family connected, related, associated; there shall be no loss!
Every spirit of death looking for you, your loved ones and your family; the death is arrested in Jesus precious name!
We decree judgement on killers, terrorists, bandits, kidnappers and on every supporter, every sponsor, every informant, everyone supplying them ammunition and equipment in the land. The Lord judge them with death and destruction in the name of Jesus!
Everything belonging to you, anywhere they have kept your marriage certificate, healing result, property documents or degree certificate; I declare they are released now in the name of Jesus!
The Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord cause His face to shine upon you and the Lord be gracious unto you from this day and ever more in Jesus’ name.

Every testimony is a pointer to our own inheritage, our own portion with Christ. -No one will go through this season of fasting and prayer with any trace of disease remaining in his or her body. He said, “then shall your health spring forth speedily” – Isaiah 58:8 Prayer and fasting is a platform for the springing forth of our health: speedy spring forth of our health. She went for her test: bone marrow cancer gone (documented testimony). Church Gist. So how will headache survive? How will back ache survive? Psalm 119:111 So it is a pointer to our heritage in Christ, it is a signal to what is available to us on demand. Isaiah 58:8 – She received strength under that condition to engage in a fast and her health sprang forth speedily (documented testimony). Jesus is here right now, to deliver your own testimony into your hand, in the name of Jesus Christ and so shall it be.
Prayers: Thank God for what He has reserved for you in this prayer and fasting season. The springing forth of your health, supernatural breakthrough in your endeavours, turning your stories to testimonies, turning your struggles to miracles, bringing you to the realm of financial rest, stopping your tears, turning your mourning into dancing. In Jesus precious name, we have prayed. Will you be specific? She was specific and Jesus stepped in (documented testimony of healing of bone marrow cancer). Ambiguity don’t fly on the altar of prayer, only specifics do. Whatever you engage with your heart specifically on shall be delivered.
KINGDOM ADVANCEMENT PRAYER IS EVERY BELIEVER’S RESPONSIBILITY It has been our line of thought in our exhortation in the Covenant Hour of Prayer for the week. It is every believer’s responsibility with benefits: unmatchable benefits, unimaginable benefits. Church Gist. It is not responsibility that is with a burden. No, responsibility with blessings attached. Amazing blessings attached. Without medication, somebody walked out of bone marrow cancer by appearing before the Lord, the God of all flesh (documented testimony). With You, nothing shall be impossible – Jeremiah 32:27 God of all flesh – Jeremiah 32:27 Everybody has a part in Him. -Your part and my part, another man will not take.
The subject of prayer is not optional for a believer. It is a spiritual obligation with unimaginable range of benefits. “When ye pray”, not if ye pray – Matthew 6:6 “…Thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward you openly”: That is testimony. “When ye fast” – Matthew 6:17 “…Thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly”- Matthew 6:18 But thou WHEN thou fastest, not IF thou fastest – Matthew 6:17 So it is a divine schedule for believers to pray and fast and that without ceasing. We did 21 days in 2021: results came out. We did it in 2020: results came out. We did it in 2019: results came out. Why are we doing it all the time? As long as we want results, we want blessings, we will keep doing it. Church Gist. Open blessings that cannot be hidden, He will reward thee openly. What are we praying? Matthew 6:9-10
Worship Him first: No murmuring, no complaining. “Thank You, where I am is by grace. Without You, I will not be here. Without You, I will not even have my breath. I worship You Lord.” 🎶🎶I worship You, Almighty God. There is none like You. I worship You O Prince of peace, there is none I have come to do, I give You praise for You are my righteousness. I worship You, Almighty God, there is none like You🎶🎶 Worship Him first, it is the only access to the throne of grace. Psalm 100:4 – entrance: access Matthew 6:10 “Thy Kingdom come” – first prayer. He wants all men saved, that is His will and come to the knowledge of the truth in Church. He wants all men saved and gathered into Church – 1 Timothy 2:4 He doesn’t want anyone to perish, but He wants all to come to repentance. All men – 2 Peter 3:9 That is His capital will on the earth. I won’t come until it is done. The job has to be done; the task has to be accomplished. That is His capital will. Engage with it. He ended up in that chapter 6 of Matthew (verse 33): Seek ye first. There are many things that your life demand, I know that you need them, but seek you first the Kingdom of God and I promise you, I vow, I swear, I will add all those other things to you. – Matthew 6:33
That is what makes prayer and fasting a lifelong adventure for the believer. As long as there are unsaved (people) on the streets, ‘thy kingdom come’ prayers continue and not for the fun of it. Church Gist. It attracts open rewards, it adds all other things to you, so it is not a labour in vanity, it is a labour in profiting. Prayer and fasting is every believer’s lifelong adventure. Not public prayer only: Yes we pray together, but the prayer behind your closed doors guarantees open rewards. Your fasting behind closed doors guarantees open rewards. So you carry them in your heart, carry this prayer in your heart to behind the doors. What have you come to Church then? To collect fire from the altar. Take fire from the altar. To ‘en-fire’ your prayer life in the secret. Yes, we have together prayer that commands blessings: it is good for brethren to dwell together in unity; they were in one accord, they prayed, power came down – Acts 1:14 So we are praying on the altar that you will take to your private prayer altar at home, the open reward erupts and explodes. -My prayer for you as I pray for myself is for my prayer life to be ‘en-fired’ to another level that will keep on the prayer altar for my lifetime. That shall be everyone’s portion in the name of Jesus.
Among other things what we draw from the altar of prayer and fasting is supernatural strength. Jesus was praying and the Bible says, there appeared to Him an Angel, strengthening Him – Luke 22:43 It was fervent, Kingdom target prayer. An Angel showed up, He prayed till the sweat from His brows were like droplets of blood – Luke 22:44 Moses was a prayer and fasting giant. At 120, his natural force was not abated – Deuteronomy 34:7 Paul was a prayer and fasting addict. He said, “in fastings often” – 2 Corinthians 11:27 But he left here as Paul the Aged – Philemon 1:9 He continued till the day of his departure and he saw the crown of righteousness laid before him. Paul the Aged. Paul the fasting machine, “in fastings often” – 2 Corinthians 6:5, 2 Corinthians 11:27 Strengthened with might in the inner man because longevity is a function of strength. He said, “threescore”: That is what David saw, “the number of my days”, that is what he saw. “Only threescore and ten.” He said that was for man. That is not for man, for man is 120. You know that in Genesis chapter 6 verse 3 Genesis 6:3 – That is God speaking directly and one of the places to tap into strength is the altar of prayer and fasting that keeps a man strong, a woman strong to enjoy a good old age and see his children to the third and fourth generation. You can’t buy that with money. -Therefore, be strengthened with might in your inner man, by the Spirit of God on this altar of prayer and fasting. -Every form of weakness and weariness in your system comes under a curse today.
