Day Three
Lift up your two hands and let’s appreciate Him.
Father we give You the praise, we give You the honour, we give You the adoration for this morning. Blessed be Your name, honour to Your name, adoration to Your name. We ask that You will breath upon this service this morning. That not one person will leave here the same here they have come. We look up to You and we know that You will hear us. Be glorified Lord, in Jesus precious name.
Take your seat in the presence of the Lord.
I welcome everyone here today to the Presence of God. Church Gist. I believe that not one person will leave here the same way they have come, in Jesus precious name.
Psalm 89:20-21
Speaking briefly on the subject:
“MINISTERING WITH THE OIL”
We want to understand what happens when a person ministers with the oil, not without. We also want to understand what it takes to minister with the oil. People who minister are many but people who minister with the Oil are few. There are musicians that are Christians but there are very few ministers of song. There are some who start with the Oil and later on end without it, so you begin to wonder; I used to listen to this person, I used to hear this person. In those days if he spoke, it impacted you, in those days, if he sang, the whole place just stirs up. What changed?
I have had time to discuss with my wife and I said, what happened? Did this person reduce, did something drop? There was someone I used to listen to, many, many years ago, maybe 25-26 years ago. Very heated praise and musician. About a year ago, he gave me a CD to listen to it and I could not go pass the first track. Church Gist. It was full of dryness and noise. So there are those who start with the Oil. At the beginning, you knew that the hand of God was on them but suddenly, you don’t know what happened anymore. This applies to ministers of the Word and ministers in songs.
I knew a man in those days, if he began to speak, it was as if he was a lion – that is physically. Church Gist. His faces changes on the spot. Sometimes later, I heard him and I was so shocked. What was coming from his mouth was less in impact than classroom lecture – less.
What happens when a person ministers with the Oil?
- Ministering with the Oil is ministering under the influence of the Spirit and not in the energy of the flesh ( 1 Samuel 16:13). What we do in the flesh only produces temporal results.
- Ministering with the Oil is ministering with heavy impact and outcome (Acts 10:38).
- Ministering with the Oil is ministering under the guidance and direction of the Spirit (1 John 2:20). When you minister with the Oil, you are ministering under the guidance and direction of the Spirit – the right song to sing per time, the right theme to approach per time, what is appropriate for the moment.
- Ministering with the Oil is ministering with freshness. Church Gist. Every time people encounter you, there is something fresh, something fresh about what you have to offer (Psalm 92:10). There is something fresh about what you do, there is something fresh about your ministering of the Word, there is something fresh about your ministering in songs, there is something fresh about you. There are those who began fresh but become very, very outdated.
- Ministering with the Oil is ministering to remove burdens and destroy yokes from the lives of the people (Isaiah 10:27). That is, you are not just talking; yokes are breaking. You are not just singing, burdens are lifted. You are not just ministering, things are happening.
- Ministering with the Oil is ministering with full potentials release. The man of the Oil, the man who carries the Oil has potentials that can’t be caged (1 Samuel 10:1, 6-11). When you minister in the energy of the flesh, your potentials are limited. When you minister without the anointing, your potentials are limited. There are times when you yourself will know that you can fly higher than what you are doing now. You know that you can move higher than how you are moving now but something seems to be limiting you. Ministering with the Oil is ministering with full potentials release.
- Ministering with the Oil is ministering unto the Lord. There are three categories of people here where ministry is concerned:
a). There are those who minister but nobody is touched.
b). There are those who minister, people are touched.
c). There are those who minister, God is touched. Is that possible? Yes! I will bless the Lord at all times (Psalm 34:1)
