24th February, 1979: The Church of Nigeria was inaugurated as a new province of the Anglican Church. A total of 16 dioceses made up the province which was headed by Most Reverend Timothy O. Olufosoye (The then Bishop of Ibadan) as its first Archbishop Primate and Metropolitan.

As at 2021, there were 161 dioceses and 14 provinces in the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion). Archbishop Henry Chukwudum Ndukuba is the current primate of the Church of Nigeria. Prior to his appointment, he was Archbishop of Jos and Bishop of Gombe. He is the Archbishop of Anglican Province of Abuja and the Bishop of Abuja.

24th February 1930: Evangelist Harry A. Ironside was issued a unanimous call to pastor the Moody Memorial Bible Church in Chicago. He accepted the call and pastored Moody Memorial Church for 18 years.

24th February 1949: The government of Bulgaria passed a law acknowledging that the Bulgarian Orthodox Church is the traditional church of Bulgaria and inseparably united with its history. This came after trying unsuccessfully for many years to stifle Christianity.

The National Statistical Institute (NSI) of Bulgaria said on 24 November 2022 that a total of 71.5 per cent of Bulgarians who answered an optional question in the 2021 Census about their religion said that they are Christians.

24th February 1208: Francis of Assisi experienced a vision in the church of Portunicula, Italy. Though not his first vision, it convinced him to begin a mission of preaching repentance, singing, caring for lepers, and aiding the peasants. Most notably, he and his followers renounced wealth and followed absolute poverty
