Born on 27th May, Oghenemairo Okechukwu Ese, also known as Mairo Ese is a gospel minister passionate about sharing the good news of Jesus, having accepted Christ when he was a teenager in the 90s. His love for music led him to join his local Church choir where he eventually discovered God’s call on his life in the Worship Ministry. Over the past 2 decades, he has served in different capacities as a Chorister, Worship Leader, Music Director at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, House on the Rock (Jos), House of Freedom (Lagos) and This Present House (Lagos) respectively. He has been active professionally since May 2005 under his record label, ‘Mairo Ese Music Productions.
In 2015, he released his debut album, titled ‘The Worship of Yahweh’ which was a live concert held in Lagos, Nigeria with 2,000 people in attendance. From there, he released more gospel songs such as ‘Everlasting’, ‘The Only God’ and has collaborated with other gospel artistes. On 30th September 2020, he released his second album titled ‘Spirit and Life’ which has over 100-minute songs of deep worship and praise, inspired by the Holy Spirit. In his words, “It is inspired by the scripture, John 6:63 – the words that I speak they are spirit, and they are life. This is undoubtedly a perfect description of what the songs represent – spirit and life; my experience with my walk with God and living by His word.”
Mairo has shared the stage with both national and international gospel artistes such as Nathaniel Bassey, Sammy Okposo, Tosin Martins, Cobhams Asuquo, Ron Kenoly and Lionel Peterson with ministrations in different countries in Africa, Middle East and Europe.

He has been recognised consecutively as one of 100 most influential people in Christian Ministry by YNaija over the past 3 years.
On 11th November 2017, he got married to his beautiful wife Ayo (nee Thompson) who is a TV Presenter/ Radio host.
