Adara Sherron is a prodigal princess just as the title and content of her book ‘A Prodigal Princess’ portrays. She was raised in a Godly home, her father and mother are pastors. In her book and on her Instagram page, Adara talks about her walk away from God, her misconceptions about Christianity, her wrong moves and return to Christ. She uses her story to preach to people that we can be in Christ and still be cool. One of her misconceptions as a young lady was that Christianity was limiting and does not allow us many social privileges like fun and partying.

Today, Adara Sherron is a Christian speaker, author, and empowerment specialist to women and men in all ages and stages of life. She met her husband and purpose partner, Pastor D.A Sherron in 2016 and together they pastor the Global Fire Church in New York city. She was born on the 4th of December 1990.

At 17, Adara had gone through an abortion. She was faced with the fear that she was going to embarrass her family, become a school drop out and her life will eventually be altered, she wasn’t ready to be a mother. She went back and forth with her Christian life until she decided to finally give her life over to God in 2013. Ever since then, she has been faithfully enriching the Kingdom of God.
Adara talks on the importance of severing relationships with old friends that stir our old flames after one gives their life to Christ

“A difficult moment in the process that I can recall was the separation process of the friendships that I had at that time. It was difficult because those friendships were pillars in my old life and to sever them for my new life in Christ was hard. It was hard because I was stubborn and wanted to be able to be saved but still be the way I was, lukewarm”.

“I needed to separate from my old friends for a short time because I needed to mature to the place where I didn’t want the best of both worlds. I knew that my convictions were growing about that lifestyle and I struggled with wanting friends to accept it. I separated to be able to stand on the Word and not feel bad about it or try to make others understand it. I kept going backward for the sake of maintaining ‘normal’ life not realizing that a dual life is not normal. I would have to say although this decision was not immediate; an incident of getting so drunk I passed out in the street and a complete stranger safely brought me home was the wake up call. It wasn’t until I had a true encounter with Jesus and made the choice to wholeheartedly live for Him that my life changed”.

Adara’s story of separation from the old reminds me of a song by Jonathan McReynolds ‘No Grey’. We can’t operate both standards, the standard of the world and the standard of Christ. If we don’t choose the higher force of light, the other force will choose us.

One of her most powerful tool of Evangelism is her Instagram account where she steadily encourages over 106k followers by sharing her testimony of deliverance and pointing them in the way of Christ. In one of her post, Adara shares pictures of her ‘before and after she embraced Christ’.

Her story fosters the truth that God’s arm is always wide open to receive us no matter what. He doesn’t just receive us but catapults us to our place of destiny like Adara. Having been in a long term and failed relationship before she met her husband, Adara now strongly preaches on relationship. Her latest book is called ‘Letters to My Husband’.
