Matthew 11: 28-30
I pray for every one of you listening to me, the Giver of rest will give you rest, body soul and spirit.
I have shared with you in the past that the importance of a statement is determined by the one who makes the statement. For example, you have a case in the court and the cleaner says don’t worry you are discharged and acquitted he is just wishing you well but if the judge tells you, you know you are going home.
The Burden Bearer Isaiah 53:3-4 tells us He carries our sorrow, our burden. He is the one who says come unto me all ye that labour and I will give you rest.
Let us start with the word labour. The word labour is different from work.
2 Thessalonians 3:10, says if you don’t work you shouldn’t eat, God expects you to work diligently if you want to be promoted Proverbs 22:29.
Work is needful, God expects you to work and to work hard. To labour means to work like an elephant and eat like an ant. To work very hard and have nothing to show for it. That is why those who do the hardest work and are paid the least are called labourers
I decree in the name that is above every other name, anything called labour in your life will cease today.
Exodus 1:13-14, the Bible says the Egyptians made the Children of Israel serve with rigour. They worked hard but were paid little. ChurchGist. The plan of the Lord Jesus Christ for you is that you prosper in everything you do. Psalms 1:1-3, says He wants everything you touch to prosper.
Psalms 68:19, says God intends to load you with benefits on a daily basis, that you keep on succeeding. If you are labouring, the Burden Bearer is inviting you today, He will put an end to labour and give you rest.
He said not only those who are labouring but those who are also heavily laden should come to Him and find rest.
What is a burden?
A burden is a load, a heavy load that you cannot put down. When a load is there, heavy, you are carrying it and cannot put it down, it is called a burden.
- 2 Kings 5:1-14, tells you the story of Namaan, successful in everything but a leper, he had a load that cannot be hidden and he could not put down. ChurchGist. Until God used someone to bring him in contact with the Burden Bearer, he dipped in seven times in Jordan and left the burden there, he came out and the burden was gone.
I pray that before you go to bed today, your burdens will be gone.
Mark 3:1-5, the Bible tells us of a man with a withered hand and there was nothing he could do about it, the hand was withered until he came in contact with the Burden Bearer and then the withered hand miraculously became the former. Everyone of you who came to church carrying a burden will return home with the burden gone in the Might name of Jesus, the burden will be gone.
There are several examples, in the family of some people, there is always one black sheep, someone from the home of the wealthy is caught stealing, smoking or taking drugs and it is known to everyone, what can the parents do? Today the Burden Bearer will take over. We have several other cases like sisters who should be married, we have people trusting God for the fruit of the womb, today the Burden Bearer will step in.
You probably remember the testimony of that man who had a goiter around his neck, what can he do about it, as soon as he appears, everyone can see the goiter. He was sitting when the word of God came that ‘there is someone here with a growth round his neck, the growth is gone’. The sister sitting next to him who had been peeping at him turned to see and like a bird, the goiter had away.
It doesn’t matter what your burden is, it will fly away.
What will the burden-bearer require of you to take off your burden?
- In return you will praise Him. I expect you to praise God today which is thanksgiving Sunday.
Psalms 13:6, David said I will sing unto the Lord because he has dealt bountifully with me.
Psalms 30:1, He said I will extol thee oo Lord for thou has lifted me up and not allowed my enemies to triumph over me.
The Burden Bearer expects praises from you. - He expects you to tell others of what He has done for you. He expects you to witness.
Psalms 89:1, David said I will sing of the Lord forever, with my mouth shall I make known of His faithfulness to all generations.Church Gist.
Mark 5:2-20, we have a man who had a burden, he was so mad everybody knew he was mad, there was no hiding it the Burden Bearer came, took away his burden and when he came to say thank you, I want to go with you now He said no, go and tell others what God has done for you.
Some of us God has taken away our burdens but we are not talking, we are not telling others or witnessing, the Burden Bearer expects you to witness. - The burden bearer expects you to become committed to Him hundred percent. He wants you to come under a new management. Matthew 11:29-30, He said take my yoke upon thee, learn of me, My burden is light, My yoke is easy, you have been serving the devil all these years, you have seen the results, come and serve me and you won’t have to carry any burden anymore.
2 Corinthians 12:15, Paul said I will gladly spend and be spent for my God. Paul knew what the situation was like before he met the Lord.
When I wear my native gown and sing praises to God, they should know I know where I was coming from. Nobody compels someone who has met the Burden Bearer to serve Him.
He gave the invitation, come, the invitation is to everyone and it is still open today. Are you labouring, come, He will give you rest, are you carrying a load that is so heavy, come, the Burden Bearer will lift it.
The biggest burden you can ever carry is the burden of sin because every time you sin, something tells you what you are doing is wrong, some of you can’t just help it, come the Saviour is calling, some of you are tired of evil and evil company, the Burden Bearer is saying come, some of you are regretting that you joined that secret society, the Burden Bearer is saying come. Church Gist. Come out of darkness, come into the light and He will carry your burden for you.
If you want to surrender to Jesus Christ, the Altar is open, come, go on your knees before Him and ask Him to carry away the burden of sin from your life and when sin is gone, all manners of blessing will come to your life. Cry unto Him and say I have heard your invitation and now here I come, save my soul and I will serve you for the rest of my life.
Those of us who are Children of the living God, cry to Him, tell Him your burden. Say Lord that burden that only you can roll off, please take it away from me and I will praise you, I will witness like never before.
I rejoice with those of you who have given your life to Jesus Christ. God bless you.
By faith, let us accept the deliverance of our burden and spend quality time praising God and from now on we will begin to enjoy.
