THE BROOK CHURCH
The Brook Church (TBC) was founded by Pastor Ose Imiemohon in 2002. Upon the conception of the Church, the founding Pastor wanted to express more of God in his life, he was hungry for the Lord but did not know how to go about it. Luckily, he came across a book that changed his life completely, ‘The Complete Teachings of John G. Lake’ by Roberts Liardon. He read the Book on the day he set aside to wait upon the Lord in fasting and prayers. The Vision of the Brook Church came while he was praying in tongues at 2:40 pm on the 26th of August, 2001.
The Lord said to him, “You will teach Pneumatology; the way and things of the Spirit. Whenever you teach the way of the Spirit, you will always sense an unusual anointing, intense worship, praying in tongues, fasting and prayers will increase the Anointing on you. Creative manifestation will happen whenever the Anointing is at its peak in your life. Amazing manifestation of increase will occur. Creative abilities will be your major, empowering men in their generation, healing of the mind will be your own specialty and you will bring direction to many lives. Contact with you will bring multiplied changes and increased productivity. Get as much information on this subject. Information levels out all kinds of uncertainty. You must bring action to bear on the creative unction upon you. Do not despair any longer. Your hunger and craving for me must increase. I have not left you in the lurch; I want you to come up hither. It is demanding, it is costly but rewarding. Everything you heard about me is true, and I can and am willing to do them through you. Creative miracles where it never existed before will happen through your hands and your voice; I will make them happen through you”
This Vision gave Pastor Ose the conviction needed for the birth of the Church and led him to constant praying and studying of the Word of God. After the Vision was conceived in 2001, the Church started on 26th July of 2002 in his living room, shortly after, an inaugural service was held at the then Metropolitan Hotel, Calabar on 28th July, 2002. They moved to the Ashbury hall of the Mirage Hotel and thereafter settled at the G & A Rentals at Offiong Ekpo close, off Marian Road. In 2005, the Church acquired its property in Asim Oko Street, off Parliamentary Extension, Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria and began to build. In 2007, the Church moved to her property, the Church property was dedicated in 2008. Indeed, God is faithful in all.
The Vision of the Church is to raise models of believers in Christ who will:
- Walk in their God-given purpose
- Manifest Zoe (The God kind of life)
- Manifest the presence of Jesus Christ to the people of the world
- Know God’s Word and the Spirit of God
- Raise models of excellence.
Over the years, the Brook Church has experienced increase on all sides and has kept to its vision especially in raising models in the Vineyard of Christ. The Church is a home to many and a place of divine intervention to others. They hold two services every Sunday and have a branch in Owerri.
