SIN PAINTS THE PICTURE OF PLEASURE AND BLINDS THE EYES AND MIND FROM THE CONSEQUENCES.
IF GEHAZI KNEW THAT LEPROSY WOULD BE THE OUTCOME OF HIS ACTIONS, HE WOULD NEVER HAVE DONE IT.
SIN DID NOT ALLOW HIM TO SEE THAT HIS DESTINY WAS HEADING FOR A CRASH.
IF SAMSON KNEW THAT HE WOULD BE REDUCED TO MOCKERY BECAUSE OF SIN, HE WOULD NEVER HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH DELILAH.

Shall we lift our hands to Heaven and give God thanks for another great day. Thank Him for the light that has come your way since the month began. Thank Him for the transformation taking place in your life. Church Gist. Blessed be Your name Jesus, thank You and thank You, in Jesus precious we have prayed.
It’s a fight that defines who the overcomers are and Heaven is a home of overcomers. That means Heaven is a home of fighters. “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto we are also called”. We are called to engage in a fight so as to emerge overcomers that we are in Christ. It takes a fight to be listed as an overcomer, that’s the ticket to Heaven and it is given only to overcomers just like you give ticket for flight to those who have visa. You don’t get a flight ticket without a visa. Church Gist. So the visa to Heaven is given only to overcomers. So get ready for a fight or you will never become an overcomer.
“He that overcometh, to the seven Churches; he that overcometh, all Churches. Every believer must be armed to become overcomer.
- Evil shall not overcome anyone here anymore.
1 Timothy 6:11-12
To follow what is instructed in Verse 11 takes a fight.
Lift up your two hands and receive the fighter’s grace; overcoming every evil with good.
- Receive the fighter’s grace tonight. Only fighters become overcomers.
Lord let the grace being impacted tonight remain an asset for us in our lives. Speak to everyone of us tonight, move us forward again. Let this month be a month of escape indeed for everyone in Jesus precious name.
Give the Lord a big hand of praise and please you may be comfortably seated.
PUTTING UP A FIGHT AGAINST THE FORCES OF UNRIGHTEOUSNESS.
We can’t overcome what we don’t fight against. What you don’t want, you don’t watch. What you don’t resist has a right to remain and what you don’t confront, you cannot conquer. To lay hold on eternal life demands a fight.
1 Timothy 6:11-12
You fight the good fight of faith to realize those virtues in your life so you can lay hold on eternal life otherwise you can’t get there. Church Gist. The proud can’t get there so you need to fight against pride. The unbelievers can’t get there because what you don’t believe, you will never become. You are only empowered to become what you believe. So the unbelievers are on their way somewhere else.
“Be ye holy”. “I don’t believe that”. Good luck!
“Be ye perfect”. “No, no, no. Let’s talk fact”.
But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become… So when you believe the truth, you are empowered to become what the truth says.
Very interesting, a simple illustration; is anyone in this room a liar? The power that delivered you from lying can deliver you from adultery (same power, same evil, they have same source).
Is anyone in this room a thief? The power that delivered you from stealing will deliver you from taking bribes, if you are interested to be free. Church Gist. Is anyone here covetous? No. Some are supernaturally contented, you may want to pity them but they don’t see pity around themselves. They are just satisfied with Jesus.
The power that delivered you from deception can deliver you from covetousness. These evils have the same source, all these evil things come from within and they defiled a man – all of them have one source. The man of sin, seeking access to your mind and my mind to overturn God’s agenda for our lives through his schemes and devices.
“Hath God said, you shall not eat of all the fruits that are in the garden?” “God never said it, you are not there when God told us. He said we can eat of everything except one”. The devil said that’s the one to eat. He doesn’t want you to be like Him, go and eat it. After they ate it, he laughed and went away and then looking for someone else to chase away from the garden.
- The devil will not succeed to chase you away from your garden.
It takes a fight to emerge an overcomer (1 Corinthians 9:24-27, 2 Timothy 4:7-8). Get ready for a fight or you are never going to become an overcomer. Church Gist. Get ready for a fight of your life against everything that disqualifies you from making Heaven. Get ready for a fight of your life or you will be having religious fun only.
(1 Corinthians 15:19).
We had an old song in those days; there’s a fight to be fought. There is a race to be run. There are dangers on the way. If you are not ready to fight, you are not ready to become an overcomer.
- We are all going to get there. Nobody will lose out in this battle.
- No one shall be missing in Heaven.
- No one shall lose his portion on the earth.
- The devil will not succeed to deceive you in the name of Jesus Christ.
We’ve been trying to look at the nature of sin and dealing with spiritual forces behind sin and benefits of godliness. One particular nature of sin we want to look at tonight is that sin blinds the eyes and minds of men to the consequences of sin. Church Gist. No one will know the consequences of misbehaviour and will stay with it. A man called Samuel said in 1 Samuel 12:3, he said “behold, here I am: witness against me before the Lord and before His anointed: whose ox have I taken or whose ass have I taken or whom have I defrauded? Whom have I oppressed or of whose hand have I received any bribe to blind mine eyes therewith?’. So sin blinds the eyes of men to the reality of the consequences thereof.
Sin is a mind blinder; it is an eye blinder. It won’t let you see the consequences, it will just paint to you the picture of the pleasure. It won’t show you; this can lead to prison. If you believe in the reality of the consequences, it will warn you forever.
If Achan knew that what he did would lead to the destruction of his entire family line, will he ever do it? He took it and destroyed his entire lineage (Joshua 7).
Sin blinds the eyes of its victims from seeing the consequences of their actions and then Gehazi, he went after Naaman. If he knew that leprosy was going to be the outcome, he will never, one billion demons can’t move him to do it. Church Gist. He thought he was smart. “Gehazi, Whence comest thou? “Thy servant goes no where. I was just attending to people, protocol services”. And suddenly, destiny crashed. Sin did not allow him to see that his destiny was heading for a crash.
We have Samson, now listen;
Delilah: Somebody said they are coming to fight you. Just tell me where your power is. I’m yours forever, tell me where your power is and they actually came. His eyes were dead. She pressed him, forced him, vexed his soul.
Samson: Well, I don’t want to tell anybody.
Delilah: Tell me now, I love you.
Samson: No I can’t say it.
Delilah: What do you want me to do that I can’t do, have you ever asked for anything and I didn’t do it? Say it now, you are a man.
Samson: If they shave the locks of my hair, my strength is gone.
Delilah: That’s what I’m saying. Have I done anything to you?
She made him to sleep on her knees. He slept so bad that they were shaving him, he didn’t wake up. Church Gist. If he knew he would become a toy in the hand of the Philistines, he will never do it. So he broke the covenant and he became a toy. The Spirit left me; vigour, vitality left him. They ripped his eyes with a knife, without anesthesia. He never knew he would be reduced to mockery. If he knew, he will never do it.
- I therefore decree every form of satanic blindness shall be destroyed in everyone’s life.
- Jesus gave them the bread and their eyes were opened. Every eye going blind will be restored tonight.
Judas ended up with suicide, if he knew… He was a land speculator. Every money he stole from Jesus’ purse, he was buying land and buying land. When the Master is taking a nap, he goes to town briefly. Church Gist. “Where are you coming from”? “To give something to the poor”. He was the accountant, the auditor, the treasurer – account was always balanced. Jesus knew he was thief but he wouldn’t tell them, if He told them, Peter would kill him. You know Peter, he has a sword by his side. He only confided in John, the beloved. Judas commited suicide, he never knew. Satan entered him, he gave room to satan and threw the money out. “Look, take your money”. He never knew he would become a son of perdition.
- Somebody’s eyes just opened in the name of Jesus Christ.
