Secret of Success:FIND OUT THE STORY BEFORE THE GLORY
Several years ago, l was visiting America, attending a conference. On a particular night of the conference, the organizers wanted to raise money and before they started, this young man called his wife forward, they went to the altar and he asked for permission to speak.
He said brethren please, l want you to do something today; we were about 17,000 there.
‘l want you to give generously and the reason l am asking you to give generously is because whatever all of you give is what l and my wife will give’.
He said ‘l will give everything you give dollar for dollar’. We all said this man is finished, those who didn’t want to give decided to give to make sure they get the man into trouble.
Seventeen thousand people gave beyond their normal giving abilities. At the end he said we should please wait, he wanted everything counted. They counted 3.5 million dollars.
He took the microphone and asked, is this all you can do? I said this man must know something l don’t know.
At the end of the program, l cornered him, l asked, ‘Sir, what is your secret’? He said 5 years ago, l started a business with 500 dollars, and l said to God, you will be my senior partner, l will not insult you, l will take the 10 per cent, you take ninety per cent but it is up to you.
He said, the last year my company made a turnover of 50 million dollars. He said l know what l am doing.
I said thank you very much, l don’t need to say more than that. When some of us see the glory, we don’t know the story. Some people see how the Almighty God have been gracious unto me and they like to open their mouths and say all kinds of things, it is not my business l just keep on riding high with my King.’
