THE HOLY COMMUNION IS A MEAL THAT GIVES YOU THE KIND OF ENERGY THAT IS HUMANLY IMPOSSIBLE SO THAT YOU CAN RUN YOUR RACE AND FINISH WELL.

LIFE IS A MARATHON, LIFE IS NOT A SPRINT. ONLY THOSE WHO EAT WELL, GET TO THE END VICTORIOUS.

DON’T EAT THE HOLY COMMUNION AS IF IT IS AN ORDINARY MEAL, IT ISN’T. IF YOU EAT IT UNWORTHILY IT CAN KILL, EAT IT WORTHILY AND IT CAN HEAL AND GIVE VICTORY OVER FORCES OF DARKNESS.

  • Pastor E.A. Adeboye at RCCG January 2022 Holy Communion Service

Let somebody shout a new year kind of Hallelujah.

🎶You are worthy to be praised, you are worthy to be praised. My Redeemer you are worthy to be praised.

King of Kings, Lord of Lords you are worthy Oh God. Ancient of Days you are worthy, Alpha and Omega you are worthy to be praised. You are worthy to be magnified, you are worthy to be praised. Please accept our worship in Jesus name. Father, we are aware that not all those who said Happy New Year are still alive now. Thank you for protecting us, thank you for preserving us. Accept our worship in Jesus name. Tonight as we gather to dine with you, we ask that you breathe fresh air on us in Jesus mighty name we have prayed. Thank you mighty God.

1 Kings 19:4-8

  • In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, you will reach your goal.
Those of you who are sportsmen or sports women. You probably know about something called ‘the second wind’. In case you don’t know I will explain to you, when you are running a long race particularly a marathon and you have been running for some kilometers and you become tired automatically. You get so tired you feel like stopping, so you slow down, your head bent, every part of your body aching and you begin to breathe very heavily. Then all of a sudden, an energy that you never knew you had begins to surge forward in your body. You take a deep breath and then you begin to run again and as you run you begin to get stronger and stronger. That stage where you breathe in deeply and this new strength begins to surge forward, we call it ‘getting the second wind’.
  • There is somebody here tonight who is going to get a second wind.

Life is a marathon. Hebrews 12:1-2 tells us that we have to run with patience the race that is set before us. Life is not a sprint, life is a marathon. Elijah had been running, he ran from Mount Carmel all the way to Jezreel. 1 Kings 18:46. He ran before the chariot of Ahab all the way to Jezreel. That was a long run. Just as he was about to rest, news came that Jezebel was coming for his head so he began to run again. 1 Kings 19:1-4. Church Gist. By the time he got to verse 4 he had become worn out, so he fell asleep and he couldn’t run anymore. Then something happened, God woke him up and gave Him food to eat and water to drink. He got up and with the new energy that he got he traveled for forty days and forty nights. He got a second wind.

1 Kings 17:21-24, He came face to face with Ahab and Ahab was frightened. Before he was running away from Jezebel but now he came to decree how Jezebel was going to end. As he ran, he became stronger and stronger, no longer running from his enemies. In 2 King 1:1-17, He was sitting down and calling down fire on his enemies. Like the fellow who prayed said “when you are at the mountain top, the air is fresh”. He kept on running, breathing fresh air until he finally victoriously went to heaven (2 King 2:9-11). The Bible said he went with a whirlwind to heaven. Tonight I want to invite you to a meal that is going to give you fresh air. The kind of energy that is humanly impossible so that from now on you will run your race, you will run fast, you will run well and you will end well.

Elijah got a second wind when he ate a meal, a meal not prepared by man but by God himself. He didn’t ask where the bread came from, he ate. He didn’t ask where the water came from, he drank. Church Gist. Tonight the bread we are going to take is symbolic of the body of Christ and the wine we are going to take is symbolic of the blood of Christ. We are about to partake of a meal that is symbolically prepared by God Himself.

  • As we eat and drink, fresh air from heaven will blow on your body, on your soul, on your spirit. If you thought you are getting tired. Suddenly you will realize you are waxing stronger.
  • From tonight on, it will be upward ever and downward never.

That is why the Holy Communion is not an ordinary meal. I keep hammering it again and again. You don’t eat it with sin in your life, you don’t eat it unworthily. Church Gist. You don’t eat it as if it is an ordinary meal, it isn’t. If you eat it unworthily it can kill, eat it worthily and it can heal and give victory over forces of darkness.

Tonight when you eat the bread your prayer would be that the Almighty God should breathe on your body. If He breathes on your body, your body will receive wholeness, power and strength.

When you drink the wine tonight, I want you to cry to the Almighty God: Father breathe on my soul, breathe on my spirit. Let me finish the rest of my race in life successfully. When you pray that prayer with understanding for some minutes, go ahead and pray in the spirit.
