WITHIN THE FIRST 1 WEEK, ENSURE THE PERSON OR PERSONS YOU ARE FOLLOWING UP APPEAR IN THE HOUSE OF GOD.
EFFECTIVE FOLLOW UP WILL NOT HAPPEN ON ITS OWN, WE MUST MAKE IT TO HAPPEN.

Father, this morning, we thank You for these amazing testimonies: You are the Doer, take all the glory in the name of Jesus Christ. We decree that these testimonies shall be permanent; Lord, thank You again for answered prayers, both corporately and personally. Right now, as we go into Your Word, speak to us again. Transform our lives again and let Your name be glorified. Thank You Father for it, in Jesus mighty name we pray.
All through this week in our Covenant Hour of Prayer, our subject of consideration is captioned:
SPIRITUAL STEWARDSHIP PAYS THE MOST
It has been established in scriptures and since we began on Monday very clearly that when we engage in spiritual stewardship, we get on God’s payroll and end up as Kingdom stars.
-This season, someone under the sound of my voice will end up as a Kingdom star.
There are several channels, various channels of spiritual stewardship and we have considered some of them since Monday and today we are looking at one of such channels of spiritual stewardship and that is:
Following up of our new converts:
What is Follow up?
No assumption, it simply means helping to establish a new Christian’s faith in Jesus Christ. Church Gist. Helping to establish the faith of a new Christian in Jesus Christ. In other words, you are helping such a one, whether male or female to begin to grow unto maturity and fruitfulness in the Kingdom of God.
I can tell you very, very importantly like most of us have experienced, that engaging in follow up is extremely fulfilling, it is extremely gratifying.
When you find someone or a group of people that God has helped you to follow up and they are now strong in the faith, it gives joy and things that money cannot buy.
-In this season, our joy shall be full in Jesus name.
For our follow up endeavours to be effective, let’s mind the following:
- We must be intentional: we must be deliberate, we must have plans, we must set goals,
Effective follow up will not happen on its own, we must make it to happen and to make it to happen, we must be deliberate. We must be intentional. - Very importantly: we must mind our attitude. Attitude is everything.
Attitude is very crucial and let’s always remember that our attitude is contagious. You are following up individuals you want to be established, you must show it in your life.
Be joyful, be happy, be excited. Church Gist. Let it show in your attitude. Your attitude is contagious.
I have come to discover that it goes a long way in determining how effective our follow up endeavours will end up being.
Next, very importantly, we must ensure that in our follow up endeavours, within the first 48 hours, you are following up somebody, let there be a contact. Establish a contact.
In our Outreach team, one of the things we do within the first 12 hours, we make sure there is a contact, either by sending text messages, or by making phone calls. That way, you have already established a relationship with the individuals you are trying to follow up and of course within the first 1 week, ensure the person or persons you are following up appear in the House of God whether Covenant Hour of Prayer, Midweek Service, Sunday Service or what have you.
As you do so, you are making deliberate to ensure that these individuals are established in the faith.
-We all shall make it in Jesus name.
For our follow up endeavours to yield maximally, first we must continue to encourage and ensure that our new converts attend Believer’s Foundation class.
We must encourage them and ensure that they attend the Believer’s Foundation Class. Remember we have it online and we also have it on ground. So which ever way, encourage them and ensure that they attend the Believer’s Foundation class.
As you do that, let us make sure that we are diligent and we are persistent.
Do it diligently, be persistent about it.
If you try to ensure that they go, the first week, the person is not there: don’t give, persist.
Be consistent. Refuse to give up.
You can even make sure for example, probably you attend the first class with the person; stay there.
Or you go there to the location with him or her. Church Gist. You can also help such an individual by making available some of the materials that may be required: writing materials, note pads, pencil, pen or even a Bible, note book and ensure that the individual attends.
You can even find out after the class: what have you learnt in the Foundation Class today?
You can go far as probably taking a look, simple look at a note that the individual has written down. By so doing, you are ensuring that such a person attends and is a blessing.
Psalm 11:3
The Foundation Class is of utmost importance.
Hosea 4:6 – The Foundation Class is very, very crucial.
John 8:32
Knowledge!!! This is very, very crucial. Church Gist. So the Believer’s Foundation Class is of utmost importance.
2.We must ensure that they belong to the Winners’ Satellite Fellowship (WSF).
Remember that the WSF is the grassroot family unit of the Church and especially in a large family Church like we have here, this is very, very important. The Winners’ Satellite Fellowship which is the grassroot family unit of the Church. When they are able to attend, it becomes important because they will begin to enjoy the care that is required both spiritually and otherwise, because this is the Care Unit section of the Church.
Let’s not leave them after attending the Believer’s Foundation Class. Let’s proceed and ensure that they begin to attend the WSF. Not just once, not just twice but to be sure that they are established members of the Winners’ Satellite Fellowship.
You can even encourage them when they go for the WSF to take other new people along. It’s been said and I think this is very true that new people are always good in bringing more new people. Church Gist. So encourage them to go along and attend with new people.
Acts 2:46 – “…from house to house”
That talks about the WSF and then joy and gladness.
-That becomes our portion too in Jesus name.
As we begin to round up:
3.We must encourage our new converts to join any Service Unit of their choice in the Church or at the Zones.
Why? So they can begin to enjoy what belongs to those who serve God. Encourage them and ensure that they join Service Units in the Church or at the Zones so they can begin to enjoy the benefits that belong to those who serve God.
Exodus 23:25 – Ye shall serve, He shall bless
Remember the testimonies we heard a while ago this morning, especially the second testifier made it very clear. That hole in the heart disappeared within the months that he started serving God and we heard it in that testimony, after 14 years, he cannot remember when he laid his back last on a hospital bed.
-That testimony shall be repeated in someone else’s life.
That’s one of the benefits.
Of course, we must remember in conclusion, that God does not reward groups, He only rewards individuals.
We saw it in that testimony: he went out, God rewarded Him as an individual, not as a group.
-You are the next person to be rewarded.
Therefore, as we engage in this Spiritual Stewardship, especially our soul winning endeavours, I believe God that He will grant unto us more grace than ever before to be more effective in Jesus name.
-None of us shall miss our reward in Jesus name.
Prayers: Ask the Lord for more grace, for greater effectiveness in your follow up endeavours. Pray that prayer and pray it from the depth of your heart.
