WITH TIME, THERE IS SOMETHING TO DO. THERE IS ALWAYS A PURPOSE TO EXECUTE WITH TIME.
WHEN A MAN IS IN POSITION WITH DIVINE TIMING, HE BECOMES A COMMANDER.
WHEN YOU MISS THE TIMING, YOU MISS OUT ON THE OUTPUT OF THAT VISION AND PURPOSE.
TODAY WILL BE A DAY OF COMPREHENSIVE DELIVERY OF THE BALANCE OF ALL OF THE BENEFITS THAT ARE STILL HANGING FROM MONDAY TILL NOW.
-Pastor David Oyedepo Jr at CHoP
Lord Jesus, we thank You this morning, for the privilege and the blessing of being in Your presence. Thank You for all that You have done and for Your faithfulness towards us. Lord, this morning, our eyes are upon You. We ask that You will speak to us today by Your Word and let Your Word transform our lives. We give all the praise and the glory to You, in Jesus precious name we have prayed.
Our line of exhortation for this week has been:
PROMPT RESPONSE COUNTS THE MOST IN OUR WALK WITH GOD.
It is important that we are reminded from God’s Word that missing out on divine timing is toying with destiny.
Ecclesiastes 9:11 – Time and opportunity.
In fact, to lose out on divine timing is to miss out on divine glory and divine beauty.
Ecclesiastes 3:1, 11 – When you get the timing right, you access beauty.
“He makes all things beautiful in His time.” The beauty and the glory of destiny is tied to our access and engagement of divine timing. Church Gist. This is why we discover that tears of regret and frustration are usually the outcome of missed timings.
Luke 19:41-44
Why all this calamity, why all this frustration? Because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation – Luke 19:44
We discover that most of life’s frustrations, most of life’s devastations, most of life’s regrets, most of life’s tears are the product of missed timings.
That is why we are told to redeem the time because the days are evil – Ephesians 5:16
In other words, make the most of time. It is usually said that opportunity once lost can never be regained. So what we do with timing is what we are doing with our living. Our lives are determined by our engagement with divine timing.
That is why the Word of God declares to us in Psalm chapter 90 verse 12, “teach us to number days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”
Wisdom as we have been told over the years is knowing what to do and doing it.
Matthew 7:24
So if He says, “teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts to wisdom”, it means teach us to know what to do at every point in time.
Psalm 90:12
Engaging with time is what makes destiny. That is what decorates destiny, that is what advances destiny, that is what beautifies destiny. Engaging with time.
1 Chronicles 12:32
We are told about the sons of Issachar. They were men that had understanding of the times that know what Israel ought to do and the result of that is that they became chief men. As a result of knowing what to do, they were men that were decorated. The Bible says that they were 200 of them and all of their brethren were under their commandment.
When a man is in position with divine timing, he becomes a commander. That is why we must ensure we take advantage of divine timing. Church Gist. Taking advantage of divine timing is what places you in the position of advantage in destiny.
-May each one of us here today receive grace to take advantage of divine timing.
Ecclesiastes 3:1
From this scripture, things are tied to seasons and purposes are tied to timings. There is something, a purpose to engage with every divine time and it is engaging with that purpose that brings beauty and glory to destiny.
That is why when you look at the sons of Issachar, they did not just understand time, they knew what Israel ought to do. Church Gist. So with time, there is something to do. There is always a purpose to execute with time.
Purposeless time is usually destiny at waste. We must understand that with every divine timing, there is a purpose to be executed. That is why we are told very clearly, “redeeming (making the most) the time because the days are evil” – Ephesians 5:16
-I pray that for each one of us, the grace to make the most of divine timing will be granted to us in the name of Jesus Christ.
We have been looking all through the week at examples of men and women who took advantage of divine timing and the results that they enjoyed.
This morning we are going to look at the example of Jehoshaphat.
We have his example in scriptures in 2 Chronicles chapter 20 verses 1 to 24
2 Chronicles 20:1-24
For time sake, let’s look at what the scriptures says about Jehoshaphat. 3 Kings gathered against Judah, let’s remember that Judah is one of the 12 tribes, so it is one twelfth of a Nation and Judah was standing on its own and 3 Kings, 3 complete nations came against Judah – 2 Chronicles 20:2
It was going to be a destructive encounter but the Bible says as soon Jehoshaphat saw this, very simple, the Bible says in (2 Chronicles chapter 20) verse 3, Jehoshaphat feared and set himself to seek the Lord and proclaimed a fast instantly: there was no delay.
2 Chronicles 20:3
As soon as he saw the battle arrayed against him, he did not go beginning to seek alliances from human connections, he went straight to God. God was his first point of call. He went there instantly, promptly.
The Bible tells us how after they sought the Lord and fasted and prayed; by verse 17, the Lord spoke through His Prophet, “now you shall not need to fight in this battle…”
2 Chronicles 20:17
We see that they began with fasting instantly. Now God spoke.
What was the response of Jehoshaphat to what God said? Immediately God spoke, as soon as God spoke, they responded in praise, celebrating what God has done – 2 Chronicles 20:18
But what else did he do? The Bible says he then began to consult with the people, “what do we do now?”
Remember wisdom is knowing what to do and doing it. It is not waiting for God to do, but knowing what to do.
“Let us appoint singers that will praise the beauty of His holiness” – 2 Chronicles 20:21
The Bible says they appointed singers and when they began to praise and began to sing, the Lord then laid ambushment against all of their enemies – 2 Chronicles 20:22
And by the end of the battle, a battle which they did not fight, God fought on their behalf, the Bible says all of the enemies were dead men – 2 Chronicles 20:22
Absolute and total victory.
Why? Instant and prompt engagement. To every question, there was an instant response.
Battle came: Instantly, Jehoshaphat went and declared a fast.
As soon as God gave the answer: Instantly, Jehoshaphat gave God praise.
As soon as they began to prepare, to go out into war; instantly they began to say, “what do we do? Let us appoint singers.”
As soon as they began to praise God, instantly God responded on their behalf.
The promptness of your engagement determines the promptness of God’s response.
He responded to them swiftly on the basis of their swift engagement. It is so important for us to understand if we are going to make the most out of our journey on the earth, we must learn to be prompt in our response.
Timely response matters the most!! It matters the most in determining the outcome of any life, any destiny, any vision, any purpose. It matters the most.
Habakkuk 2:1-3
Vision and purpose answer to timing. When you miss the timing, you miss out on the output of that vision. You miss out on the output of that purpose.
-No one here will miss out in the name of Jesus.
Jesus called the Apostles, Peter, John and the others. The Bible says, He said to them in Matthew chapter 4 verse 19, “follow Me and I will make you fishers of men.” And instantly, they left all and followed him. It was immediate response.
What was the ultimate? These men that should have ended nameless became celebrities for eternity.
Do you know that when you get to Heaven and you get to the foundation of Heaven, the Bible says, and on the foundation stones are written their names
So their names are not only written in the Book called the Bible, it is written on the foundation of Heaven
Why? They left all instantly and followed Him.
The record breakers of this age are those that are prompt in responding to God.
The ones whose name will be written in time and eternity, that will be stars that shine forever and ever are the ones who are prompt in responding to God.
-May each one of us receive that grace for prompt response to every divine commandment, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Prayers: Lord, I receive grace to be prompt.
Every commandment you give to us corporately, the ones you give to me privately: I receive grace to engage promptly, to engage swiftly without delay. I receive grace.
Begin to receive that grace from the Lord and begin to rebuke every habit of procrastination, every habit of delayed response. I rebuke it now, in the name of Jesus.
Begin to rebuke every habit of procrastination, every habit of delayed response, every habit of slow response to divine commandment. Begin to rebuke it!
I bring my body under, I bring it under subjection to divine law, to divine commandment, to divine instruction, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Give thanks to God for it. Appreciate Him and celebrate Him. Thank You mighty God, in Jesus precious name we have prayed.
What that means is that to be slow in response is to rob one’s self of destiny and glory.
-No one here will lose out on the blessing of obedience in the name of Jesus Christ.
We have our corporate commandment to dive out there in the pursuit of the lost. Do it promptly. As you do, you will see God decorating you quickly and swiftly.
-That shall be your experience in the name of Jesus.
Declare the breath of the Spirit upon every flier. That every flier will go as a very sharp sickle.
Lord, let every flier, every tract go forth as a sharp sickle. Every one of our fliers, every one of our tracts: they will be irresistible. Every one that comes across them shall be attracted, they shall be pulled, they shall be magnetized by these materials and the words upon them will begin to convict hearts, convict souls, transform lives in the name of Jesus.
Everyone that receives (the flier) shall be drawn in. No flier shall be barren, everyone will bring forth in the name of Jesus Christ. Thank You mighty God in Jesus precious name we have prayed.
Lord, we send these materials forth and we declare that everyone of them returns with a mighty harvest. Thank You for it Lord, in Jesus precious name.
SPEAK TO THE DAY
Speak the day, make your declarations concerning the day. Whatever you decree and declare, God delivers. Therefore, speak to the day right now. Speak to the day!
Do it from the depth of your heart. Make your decree, make your declaration.
This day is declared blessed. Thank You mighty God, in Jesus precious name we have prayed.
-For you, this day is declared blessed.
-It is the last working day of this week, it will be a day of perfection.
-The balance of all of the benefits that are still hanging from Monday till now, today will be a day of comprehensive delivery.
-It will be a day of speed.
-God will grant you unusual speed. A day of unusual accomplishment in the name of Jesus Christ.
So shall it be, in Jesus precious name.
