TOPIC: OPERATING THE SPIRIT OF FAITH
SUB TOPIC: IMPARTATION OF THE SPIRIT OF FAITH
Faith is the master key to a world of exploit, a world of wonders, in your business, career and family pursuit, name it. Hebrews 11:6. You can’t please God without faith, you must have unshakable and unmovable faith in God if you want to please him. ChurchGist. God is not pleased without faith, without faith life will be full of frustration, stagnation and failure, that will not be your portion.
Faith sees the reality of what is written. 2nd Corinthians 4:13. If you can’t say something that means you have not seen it. There is nothing you see from God’s Word and the Spirit of Faith is in you, that you will not say. ChurchGist. If you find it difficult to say something, it’s an indication that you have not had an encounter with the Spirit of Faith in you.
Now, there are two dimensions to faith in scriptures: we have the Word of Faith and the Spirit of Faith. Many have the Word of Faith but only few operate with the Spirit of Faith. Romans 10:6-8. The Word of Faith which we preach and faith cometh by hearing and hearing the Word of God. Romans 10:17. The Word of Faith via the written Word of God, which is the Logos. ChurchGist. The Word of Faith comes from your heart, you hear God’s Word, you read the Bible and then you believe what the Bible says, that is faith. But hear this, the Spirit of Faith has its source, they are not the same. The source of the Spirit of Faith, I will show you from Deuteronomy 28:1. Harken to the voice of the Lord thy God, Harken to the Voice…. Take note of that word. You know I can be talking to you and you’re hearing me but you can’t grasp what I am saying, there is a voice behind every letter in the Bible.
The Word of God generates faith but the Voice of God imparts the Spirit of Faith. I will explain to you. The Word of God generates your faith, when you hear God’s Word, but when you hear the voice, it imparts your faith. I heard the Word of God in Matthew 8:17 it generated my faith but the Spirit of Matthew 8:17 came out. ChurchGist. It imparted faith in me that made me know that I am healed, do you understand the difference? Behind every letter there is a Spirit. It is hearing that voice that impacts the Spirit of Faith. Psalm 29:3. The voice of the Lord is upon the waters; you know the waters talk about the Word of God. Ephesians 5:26. The Voice of God is upon the Word of God.
So, in every word here (in the Bible) there is a voice, it is called the Rhema. When the voice comes out. Listen, I will use natural things to explain, assuming two married people are sending a letter or let me use today’s modern term, a text. You understand now? And you send the text: my wife, I love you and you show somebody what your wife sent to you or if your wife showed somebody what you sent to her. Saying: see what my husband sent to me. You reading it will just see: I LOVE YOU. But the wife will hear his voice. ChurchGist. She will not just see I love you; she will hear the voice of the husband. You, if she shows you, all you will see is I love you my wife, but she the Wife will hear the man’s voice behind I love you, how many understand it?
Every Word here (the Bible) has a voice behind it. It is when that voice is heard, it will impart you with the Spirit of Faith. ChurchGist. The reading is the Word of Faith, the voice is the Spirit of Faith. How many can get it clear now? But, when you hear that voice, you can never remain the same. You become a voice and I pray this day; somebody will have an encounter with the voice of God. Shout a loud amen. Behind every verse of scripture is the Voice of God. The spirit entered into me when he spoke unto me. Ezekiel 2:2. You can’t hear his voice and be in doubt.
Look at the men Caleb and Joshua, when the 12 spies were sent by Moses to go and spy the land, 10 came back and said we are not able, Caleb and Joshua had another spurt, it is the Spirit of Faith. They said what are you talking about, that we are not able, you’re stupid for saying so. Numbers 14:24. Caleb had another spirit, that Spirit is the Spirit of Faith. ChurchGist. It personalizes your inheritance by unusual unfolding of God’s Word. You look at the situation from a different angle, I pray that today, someone hearing me all over the world will have an Impartation that will change your life forever. Habakkuk 2:1. My sheep hear my voice. John 10:27. God’s voice does not come in the midst of noise and vibration. So, you require some quietness, separation, consecration and determination to encounter his voice and that is where the Spirit of Faith comes from.
Listen, when I read exploits of faith and the Bible when I had a serious health challenge that was threatening my life to death and I got to Matthew 8:17 the voice came out, himself took my infirmities, somebody Amy read that scripture and say but I have read it. The voice came out and Faith was imparted and I said Satan, Jesus took it, you’re stupid to say I have it and I walked out of Hepatitis with no prayer from anybody. ChurchGist. You can’t encounter his voice and remain the same, somebody may say I know Matthew 8:17. You have not been imparted with the Spirit of Faith behind the word. Are you getting what I am saying? Today, you will no longer walk in the logos, you will begin to enjoy rhema.

What is it that makes it special?
1) It speaks the unspeakable. The Spirit of Faith speaks the unspeakable. 2nd Corinthians 4:13. Matthew 10:20. It makes you speak the unspeakable
Everyone with the Spirit of Faith, you speak things that naturally others can speak. From today it will work in your life. Sometimes you hear someone with the Spirit of Faith say something that will make you call him; excuse me, why are you talking like this, when you walk with that spirit you will speak the unspeakable, you will dare the undareable.
2) It makes you take daring steps. Daniel 3:16-18. That’s the Spirit that Shadrach Meshach and Abednego walked with. ChurchGist. What they said is not a Word of Faith, it is the Spirit of Faith, it is a daring Spirit, it cannot be harassed, it dares the undareable, when you operate in this spirit, you will tell an armed robbers to leave your place without his gun, you will tell him drop your gun. This day you will be imparted with the same spirit in the name of Jesus. You dare the undareable.
Long ago in 1997, when we came here, we went out to pray and, in the prayers, some armed men by the junction here. I wore a house coat and we were doing a midnight prayer with the pastors, a few of them and then we were walking. ChurchGist. At midnight they came to us and the cock their guns at us. My hands were in my pocket, I didn’t shake, I spoke in tongues, no that I was afraid to say that I was scared for 1 second. They just answered and said “na them, make we dey go”. Meaning its them let’s go.
Things don’t move you, you see a gun as a stick, it can shoot, if you don’t operate in this Spirit your Christianity will be limited. Whoever misses today’s service missed 90 per cent of his/her life. If I say bring anointing oil, this whole place will be full. When you operate in this spirit, your Christianity will be different from anybody and that’s what makes you a lion in the midst of wolves.
3) It drives you into action. Mark 1:12. You think it is normal, when God told me to start the cathedral I will come and say God said we should go and dig? You can’t try it without the Spirit of Faith. Many of you are in this Church, when we started that cathedral, we went there and dug with our hands, we couldn’t afford caterpillars. ChurchGist. The Spirit of Faith will drive you to do some things which you naturally can’t do. Starting 11 churches with 5 services the same day from one branch, it’s the Spirit of Faith. It drives you to do something that naturally you won’t do. We would have said start from one branch, this is the first Church in the history of Church growth, since the Church started 2000 + years ago that started 11 churches.
Pastor Matthew said David put it in a book because it has never happened in church history, 11 churches from one branch, 11 churches from where? Starting 5 services the same day, all the 11 churches started 5 services the same day, it was 14 churches not 11, sorry. In 2011, 14 churches!
it is a daring Spirit of Faith, so you can from one business center open 20 business centers with the Spirit of Faith. It is a daring Spirit, it drives you to do something that naturally you can’t do, be impacted with it right now.
4) You’re at rest in the midst of storms. Mark 4: 39. Jesus said oh ye of little faith, he was sleeping, that is not a normal faith, sleeping when the boat is shaking. He was asleep, from this day may you be unshakable. You don’t panic in the midst of a storm, you’re at rest. Everyone is fidgeting, you’ll just say calm down what are you running around for. The Spirit of Faith, it makes you unshakable, unmovable, permit me if there is any English like unpanicable. ChurchGist. You’re not full of anxiety and you don’t panic.
Anxiety is a sign that you’re not operating with the Spirit of Faith. If you just calm down in the midst of the storm, you have peace. Somebody will see you and wonder whether anything is happening, you will say calm down, don’t shake. How can water be entering inside the boat and yet He was sleeping, you think it’s a normal Spirit. Some of you, just for a little thing, you’re panicking. May you operate with the Spirit of Faith.
5) You keep winning with the Spirit of Faith. It is an ever-winning spirit. Mark 11:23. It’s a fighting spirit, it never gives up, it gets things done through you, it moves you to a point of conquest, it energizes you with bold steps. Here this: the Spirit of Faith empowers you to believe all things. ChurchGist. Acts 24:14. Anything God says, you believe it. The Spirit of Faith empowers you to believe all things, there is nothing God will tell you that you will doubt, if God tells me now that I should go and buy a city, I will not consult anybody, I will start the pricing. I will ask how much is this city, it will make you believe anything God tells you to do. Do you understand? You know there are somethings God is telling you; you know why you can’t believe; you don’t have the Spirit of Faith.
People with the Spirit of Faith believe all things. Believe you me, if we are pricing, we won’t start the cathedral till today. Even till today, the things they are asking for there, it needs the Spirit of Faith. When they bring their quotation: 5.6 billion, 2.2 billion, 1.4 billion, to build a house is not a thing, to finish it is the real work. To buy cloth is not the issue, you try to sow it and wear it. Some clothes are just for 2,000, is it with 2,000 you will sow it? Okay. It’s not just buying the cloth, you will buy shoes, buy everything. The Spirit of Faith, I don’t doubt whatever God says. It makes you believe all things, there is nothing God will ever say to you that you will doubt. You’re doubting us because the Spirit of Faith has not come, that is why you need the Spirit of Faith. ChurchGist. It makes you believe anything that God says and today you will go home with it.
CHANNELS OF IMPARTATION IF THE SPIRIT OF FAITH
How do I get impacted with the Spirit of Faith?
Now, God is the umpire, he determines who qualifies for it. Numbers 11:25.
How many like to walk in the Spirit of Faith? In every generation there are people that carry it, when Benson Idahosa was on earth, he carried the Spirit of Faith. It’s still there with him, it doesn’t go off. If you watch Idahosa’s tape today and he says, be healed, you will be healed. Just watch his tape, he’s not physically there, but put your hand on the screen you will be healed. You know why? Men can go but the Spirit does not die. ChurchGist. That’s why when they put a dead man in the tomb of Elisha the man woke up. The Spirit of Elisha was still there. His bone raised the dead, are you hearing what I am saying? I have watched Kathryn Kuhlman tape and physically the room changed. She is not here, she’s gone since. Are you getting what I am saying? And you know in this generation Bishop Oyedepo is a carrier of faith and I got it from him.
1) Identify someone who carries the Spirit of Faith. Don’t sleep please, if you sleep now, then you’re not ready for the Spirit of Faith. Identify someone who is a carrier of the Spirit of Faith. ChurchGist. Go after the person. Elisha went after Elijah because Elijah carried it, I went after Bishop Oyedepo because he’s a carrier, you go after the person who is a carrier, that’s how you get impacted. The Bible says go and buy in case you do not have money, go and buy your own. So, you go and say please I need this thing, I don’t want to live my Christianity like these.
2) Receive the person of the carrier. Matthew 10:41. If you don’t receive the man, you can get what he carries.
3) Honour the carrier of the Spirit of Faith. Mark 6:4. You can say “EPELE” meaning sorry and not honour somebody, you know why I carry the Spirit of Faith from Oyedepo, I honour him even at his back. If I tell you something you will be shocked, I don’t do hypocrisy before him, I honour him more at his back than his front. I have never knelt down like this to talk to him but in my heart I kneel down. I respect him inside and outside, you can’t talk about him negatively around me, you don’t try it.my honour for him at his back is higher than his front. If I am preaching before him, I won’t say something I say here. My honour for him is so high, so you can see the Spirit of Faith in him just in me. ChurchGist. Now listen, today I decree the Spirit of Faith upon this Commission and upon my life will rest on you.
4) Believe in the ministry of the carrier. 2nd Chronicles 20:20. Mark 6:5-6. When you have unbelief there is no way you can get the spirit. Are you getting what I am saying?
5) Be desperate for what he carries. It takes desperation to encounter manifestation. Be desperate. I saw the audacity of Bishop Oyedepo and I said Lord, I like this kind of Christianity, don’t you see the way he talks, they don’t say such with boldface. When you’re baptized you will understand what I am saying. Somethings I say here I don’t premeditate them, I don’t plan them, it’s the Spirit of Faith. You can say most of what Bishop Oyedepo says without the Spirit of Faith. ChurchGist. He will call out the government and nothing will happen. You need the Spirit of Faith and that is how Idahosa works, things that even you, you will put your hand on your head and be afraid. Spirit of Faith is not something you practice; you don’t practice it; you don’t eat pounded yam to have it.
I was not at this level, when you see me talking now you will think I just got here. 1997/1998, when they were to hold an election in this state and one man from Olumba was to be the Governor. The Spirit of Faith has nothing to do with position or status, nobody knew me, u was still starting, but I had the Spirit of Faith and I came up and I said listen, there is no way a man with bare foot will be a Governor of Rivers State and three people that belongs to the man’s party was a member of our Church. They said sir don’t say so, I said shut up, olumba man will never be a Governor. ChurchGist. We were less than 200 members, it’s the Spirit of Faith. I said that man will never become the Governor. Say with me: the Spirit of Faith. I was talking as a man with one suit but the Spirit of Faith was with me, if it’s now, you will say you have a bug church. Then, we were less than 20, you don’t have to have 500 people to have the Spirit of Faith. They were pinching me and said sir, don’t talk like that. In fact, the secretary came to me and said sir don’t talk like that, he was still in power, he closed all the Pentecostal churches in GRA, I said that kind of a man, tell him he will never be a Governor here. You will say somethings that even you will marvel that am I the one.
Today, to everyone that desires it, receive it in the name of Jesus. They didn’t practice it, the DNA of a father, the son does not need to practice it; it flows. Are you getting what I am saying? Don’t you see the time I came up and cursed one young man, I didn’t practice it; it’s the Spirit of Faith, you remember the day, no premeditation, no plan, I just came up that day and I said whoever is insulting my father, it came so heavily on me. When it comes upon you, you will marvel at things that you say. You take steps that others naturally are afraid to take. ChurchGist. How many want this Spirit of Faith? How many want to be impacted with the Spirit of Faith?
It is more of a heart-to-heart connection. 1996, I will never forget, a man was mad, a medical doctor mentally mad, he was working with DSS, he became violent, then they called that place 1004. He took his daughter to throw her from a high rise building down, the wife went to pick the daughter in her mental state, he had a psychiatric attack, then this man in his mental state, came to our house in VI, we had a bodybuilder who was strong, if you see his chest, my chest is three times his chest. This bodybuilder was strong, but you know when someone is mad, you will fling the bodybuilder like a paper because it’s not physical, it’s the demon in him. ChurchGist. So, he came to the house in his mad state shouting and shouting, I saw the bodybuilder hiding by the corner, I said how can this bodybuilder be afraid of this man? I heard the mad man saying I will tear you into pieces. So, the two of them hid themselves, his eyes were red with demonic forces. I asked my wife, somebody is shouting in this house, who is the person shouting? I was wearing pyjamas.
So, I came out, in the early hours with my hands in the pyjamas. He turned and looked at me and said I know you; you’re Bishop David Oyedepo, I have read your book “Keys to Divine Health”. He began to talk, you know why? In the spirit, the Spirit of Oyedepo was what he saw. So, I said even the demons know what I carry. 1996, they don’t practice this thing, if you hate me, love what I carry. This man is a carrier of the Spirit of Faith. If you despise me, you can’t carry it. ChurchGist. You can’t despise me and carry it; they say is this not the capital source. I honour Oyedepo from my heart, that is why you see me carrying his Spirit. I carry his Spirit; you don’t need anybody to tell you; you can see a man who replicates the Spirit of Faith. It’s not Handkerchief, it’s not oil, it’s your heart. If you come here and I pour oil on your head, it doesn’t work, it’s your heart.
