SUB TOPIC: WISDOM FOR POSITIVE SELF IMAGE.
I want you to be very attentive to today’s teaching.
What is wisdom?
Wisdom is knowing the right thing to do from God and doing it, it’s knowing the right step to take from God and taking it, it’s knowing the right way to turn and turning there, right thing to do, right step to take and right way to turn. Hear these children of God, at the root of the making of any Kingdom star is wisdom. Daniel 12:3. It’s only the Kingdom of God that you can be a star forever, in the world you can’t be a star forever, you reign one day, you’ll leave tomorrow. Say with me: Redemption has made me of a strange value, I am not going to accept mediocrity, I have what it takes to be a star, I have the mind of Christ, the very force behind creation, it’s my turn to shine, the top is my destination in the name of Jesus, that which you have confess become a reality in your life, that thing which you confessed it will happen exactly as you have said it. ChurchGist. Hear this, the gospel has two aspects. The person of Jesus and the principle he taught, his person guarantees your Heaven, while his principles guarantee your earthly success. One aspect of the gospel is the son of God and the other is the system of God. One is the life of God and the other is the law of God. One is the King, the other is about the Kingdom, one is earth related which is salvation, the other is mind related which is success. Salvation is instant but wisdom is progressive. You have to grow in wisdom. So, we will be looking at wisdom for positive self-image.
In my meditation God said share this on the last day, that if everything is alright and you still have low self-esteem it will still affect you. I want your heart to be opened, because something you’ve never heard the Holy Ghost will fire it to you in the name of Jesus. Self-esteem is a generalized feeling about self. ChurchGist. It has to do with one’s value. Many have this negative thought about themselves, they feel incomplete, they feel empty, have doubt, they even hate themselves. Low self-esteem can express itself in confidence, inferiority complex, rejection and feelings of intimidation, but this day you’ll break out of that in the name of Jesus. Say with me: from this day I will have a high self-esteem of myself, your revelation of self-worth is very important. Please, know that God loves you and accept you for who you are. Listen people of God, low self-esteem in most cases comes from a default childhood with negative experience, feeling of incapable of doing things, unfair comparison when your parent begins to compare you with others, negative comments by those who are important to us, you’ll have low self-esteem if your parent talks somehow to you, if your family members speak to you anyhow and friends even your teachers, some of us, our leaders, even your employers can make you have a low self-esteem.
Do you know if you make poor grades while in school? It will affect your self-esteem but you’ll be free today. Please, develop a new self-image, say with me: I will do that. Now, if you grew up in an environment where you were constantly criticized and abused it will affect you, you may never feel loved, even when you try to forget, it will keep replaying in your mind. This is what my parents said: I am good for nothing. ChurchGist. Poor self-image is dangerous and until you work on your mind, you can’t come out of it, but I see you come out of it by the power of God. ChurchGist. Many have thought that if they have money, excel at school or to be successful it can make their low self-esteem go away, that’s not true. Until your mind is renewed you can’t overcome it. Low self-esteem can affect every aspect of your life, it is destructive, it will make you avoid closeness to people, you get angry easily when you have it, you feel everybody hates you, that’s not true, God loves you. I decree this day you’ll be free from it in the name of Jesus.
A young man called Jabez. 1st Chronicles 4:9-10. The mother looked at him and gave him a bad name. She said you this boy it is through sorrow that I gave birth to you but in verse 10, Jabez cried to God for blessing, he doesn’t want to remain with low self-esteem and the Lord granted him that which he requested.
- I decree the blessing of God which is coming upon you today will distinguish you wherever you’re found, I pronounce you cleanse in the name of Jesus.
A young man called Jephthah. Judges 11: 4-8, this young man was born by a harlot and so the brothers of the house drove him out of the house, they said get out, your mother is a harlot, but the Bible said that he went and trained himself with vain men and after a while Israel looked for him to become their King. I don’t know who your people have despised, you will rule them after today. He did not go to mourn the background he came from, that you came from a bad background does not mean your back should be on the ground. ChurchGist. He said I know a harlot gave birth to me but I am going to be a great man. That you’re not born with a silver spoon does not mean you cannot eat with a silver spoon. Hear these people of God, today will mark a revolution in your life. Please refuse the grasshopper mentality. In life we should all have dreams, goals and visions.
When Israel was leaving Egypt, they were coming out of Egypt, God gave them Canaan as their destination which could be like your own dreams in life. God wants you and I to have dreams. say with me: God wants me to have dreams, Canaan was their dream land, that was their destination, every child of God should have a dream, Abraham had a dream, what was his dream Isaac, Joseph had a dream, what was his dream? Prime Minister. Solomon had a dream, what was his dream? The temple. Israel has had a dream, what was their dreams? Canaan, but when they were to go to Canaan Moses did something, he sent 12 spies, he said now that our dream land is Canaan go and spy the land. All the twelve including Joshua and Caleb acknowledge the existence of giants, including Caleb and Joshua, they didn’t doubt it, they didn’t say there were giants. ChurchGist. Faith does not deny the obvious, you can’t have cancer and say no cancer it’s a life, but where is your faith? Faith does not deny what is happening. All of them saw that there are Giants but this is the difference, 10 of them had faith in the giants, 2 had faith in God.
Yes, there were giants but 10 of them said that the giants are big, 2 said God is bigger. So, you understand the difference? 10 were grasshoppers, 2 were giants’ killers. ChurchGist. Your conversation reveals whether you’re a winner or a victim, when you converse the way you talk will show whether you’re a winner or a loser. Here these people of God, the Bible is a book of pictures, hope you know? It gives you the picture of God, it gives you the picture of the devil and it gives you God’s picture of you. There are four pictures in everyone’s life, in everybody’s life we have four pictures.
1) what you think about yourself.
2) What others think about you. Other people’s opinion about you.
3) what Satan thinks about you.
4) What God thinks about you.
The 10 spies said they were like grasshoppers, that is what they think about themselves, it was a negative opinion about themselves. Our family is so poor, that is what you think about yourself, is that what God thinks about you? You belong to the family of God but you’ll keep saying: if you see the family, where I come from were so poor, that is what you think about yourself, you belong to the family of God. It is witches and wizards that made everybody in this family to be like this, you’ve accepted what the devil said. Numbers 13:32- 33. From today you’ll be free from such, it’s what you call yourself, people will call you. ChurchGist. Nobody will call you poor if you don’t look morros, they called you poor man, because you said you’re poor. Listen, I am not blowing my trumpet, with 1 suit I never looked poor, I was talking with authority, I am gentle now. I said listen I am one of the richest preachers on earth. They call you poor not because of how you look but because of how you talk. I said listen I am one of the wealthiest preachers, with 1 shoe and 1 suit.
The way you even look is enough for people to pity you. ChurchGist. How are you? Papa said we should not talk like that, but I am going to tell you the truth, things are somehow o. What will poor people like us do, who told you that you’re poor, that you don’t have money in your pocket does not mean that you’re poor, it’s only a temporary condition, you’re very rich. He was made poor so that I might be rich, I am not a poor man. ChurchGist. I have never called myself a poor man even when I had no dime. I have always said I am one of the richest men, are you rich? How many know that they are very rich? And as you’ve said, it shall be your portion. But you’re not a poor man, that you’re broke now does not mean you’re poor, it’s only a temporary condition. Are you getting what I am talking about?
Poor self-esteem is very back, till today there are some Christians who still pray religious prayer like this: they say oh Lord, you know I am unworthy, what kind of nonsense prayer is that. God did not create am unworthy child, that kind of prayer destroys self-esteem. ChurchGist. Till today religious people pray it, oh Father I am an unworthy sinner, you that was created in his image you’re worthy. You’re not unworthy, you’re worthy. When the prodigal son came, the father said shut up don’t say so, you’re still my son. Luke 15:22. Now, of your son poo on your carpet, does that change him from being a son, that you make mistakes does not mean you’re not God son you only confess that sin at that moment and leave don’t say I am unworthy, all those are religious stupid prayers, they will now be crying. That is why they have. A low self-esteem. Hebrews 4:16. It says come before God with all boldness, did it say all unworthiness because some people are very funny. It says come with boldness, come like a child of God.
There are two people who don’t knock my door, they just open the door, David and my wife. I will just look and I am like this people are here again. Don’t go to God like a house boy, go to God like a son, father I am your child, I have come before you. You know, there is a housemaid that stands by the door. They knock and then say: sir, I am here o. ChurchGist. You’re a child of God, knock the door and open it, he said come to me with all boldness. Leave religion, it affects self-esteem. Never go to God as an unworthy sinner, you! Unworthy. God created you worthy, you’re in his own image, so that means you’re saying God is unworthy. Read the Bible, so if you’re unworthy, God is unworthy. You’re not unworthy, you’re the only creature of God. I was studying and I discovered that Lions are not as dangerous as you are. ChurchGist. I won’t teach you today. Let me not digress, you know why? Lions have claws and teeth, yet you look at them they are destructive. No! But we’ve got a brain, what you create can kill all the lions. So, it’s not strength that makes you, it is your brain. Man has created the most destructive equipment in the world. Lions will go after you physically but man can burn you from up and you’re dead. So, the brain is stronger than strength. Only man thinks, lions don’t think, that’s a teaching for another day.
Grasshopper mentality will make you keep hopping, stop complaining and speak like a conqueror. Grasshopper will make you talk about the injustice of people towards you. ChurchGist. You will keep talking about mistreatment and how people don’t understand you, lack of finance, when you see a man talking about poverty, he has complex, lack of victory, all those kinds of talk they are not right. When it comes to the picture of the devil about you, let me show you something, every time Satan wants to paint you somehow and make you know that you’re a defeated does, listen to me. Tell the devil, if there is anybody who is a failure, it is you, you failed before I was born, before my grandfather you have been a failure, you’re a failure from the beginning till now, so your failure is older than my own and I am not a failure, failure is only an opinion.
That you fail does not mean you’re a failure, it’s only an opinion. The devil is a dog and the devil is like a roaring lion here’s not a lion. Something is like it does not mean it is. You see children carrying teddy bears and sleeping with them. Is a teddy bear? It is like a teddy bear but it’s a doll. 1st Peter 5:8. He’s not a lion, he’s like a Lion but he’s not one, you’re the Lion. ChurchGist. Who are you? Listen carefully, in Revelation 5:5. John 17:18. So, there is no day a dog can harass a lion. Listen carefully, can a dog harass a lion, even in the sleeping state of a Lion, the dog can’t make noise and if you’re of the lion of the tribe of Judah and Satan is a dog then he should be at your mercy. ChurchGist. It’s not you who should be at his mercy, the devil should be at your mercy, that’s why when Jesus came, they said have you come to destroy us before our time. Please change your perspective because as a man thinketh in his heart so is he.
Stop magnifying the devil as if he’s one big thing, please demify him, make him look stupid, make him look like a recruit, he’s not even qualified to be a recruit he’s a civilian. There is no day a general will be afraid of a civilian no matter who you are. ChurchGist. Anytime Satan wants to tell you something, tell him shut up you’re a dog I am a lion. Paint a picture, as a man thinketh in his heart so is he. Proverbs 23:7. Then that you’re a lion, when you roar Satan should say bye bye.
You should be in charge of your environment and tell the devil and all the witches and wizards that you’re in charge here. Nobody can fly over my roof, even the head of the witches, that witch has not been born, fly over my roof. ChurchGist. Even in the sleeping state of a Lion, the dog can’t cross, he will run, any kind of dog and the Bible refers to Satan as a dog and refers to you as a lion. 1st Peter 5:8. Revelation 5:5. So, why are you worried about Satan? Fear is the only instrument he uses, say with me: I refuse to be afraid, I have faith, shout a better amen. Say with me: I will use my faith and overcome fear. Fear is the only weapon of the devil.
If you don’t know who you’re in Christ you can panic, even in the natural world you know what dogs do. If you walk towards a dog no matter how wild the dog is he will stop, he was barking to know whether or not you’ll be afraid. When Satan barks at you; you’ll tell it to shut up, no dog can harass you, if you have no fear. ChurchGist. Life’s story of a great man of God. He went to the United States and went to pray, they had these dogs that are very wild. So wild that they don’t bring them out except at night because they eat people. Say a man of God went to pray and as he went to pray in the midnight, the owner of the dog brought them out and released them. So, he saw somebody walking. He was afraid that these dogs would eat the man up and the great man of God was just walking slowly and the dogs were accompanying him at the back, he was shocked as how the dogs were only following the man.
They were escorting him, the man of God entered his car and left. Hello! The same man of God was praying in the bush and a mighty python came, before he woke up the python was dead, he did not say I cast you and I bind you, he understood. Are you hearing what I am saying? Satan is only a dog. There is no day he will harass you if you know who you’re, stop looking down on yourself, go and buy the tape I taught “WHO ARE YOU IN CHRIST” it’s a long-time tape, when I said that you’re a lion, I think they should produce it for tomorrow, so that anybody who wants it can have it. Is that clear? Put it online, anybody that wants to download it for free should have it. ChurchGist. Your victory over Satan starts from your mentality, your superiority complex over the devil that’s where victory starts, it’s not prayer, you can be praying in fear, you know some people pray in fear. They pray when armed robbers are coming, armed robbers can’t come.
HOW TO DEVELOP POSITIVE SELF IMAGE
Now, what I am going to talk about is the real thing, just look at where your own problem is and say this is where the answer is. Don’t assume, you won’t know you have an esteem problem until certain things happen, do you know till tomorrow this black skin colour affects some people? You don’t know? There is nowhere in this world where this colour will affect me, I speak to black, white, yellow, green. But if you’re not careful, check in America even the black brother they feel that they have been marginalized, is that not true? You hear them say the whites are maltreating us, it’s a lie, it’s a complex problem, you know why? You know where it’s coming from? From slavery.
A young boy in the University had a black day. So, he said he’s not going, why do they have black history day? Do they have white history day? He’s said he’s not going, what kind of nonsense is that? They said no we need to know about the black history, he said what about the white history. He has been brought up hearing messages like this. ChurchGist. What is black history day? He said that is nonsense, there is no white history day.
We were in Alabama in a man’s office with a top government official and he was talking. He said this is the first time a black man will be in this seat. I smiled. ChurchGist. I said young man, his in his 40s I was in my 50s. So, I told him young man, there is no black there is no white, I said look at me have you seen anybody as white like a paper, he said is there anybody as black like a Bible cover, he said no sir. I said there is no black there is no white, its only pigmentation, there is no black man there is no white man.
So, stop saying you’re the first black man to be here, that alone is affecting your perspective on life. Say you’re the first man from this place who is sitting here, don’t say you’re the first black man, don’t say it again. Stop saying the first black ruler, what is black, I am not a black man. ChurchGist. I am never a black man. Am I like this (Bible cover)? If you’re like this (Bible cover) nobody will see you, is there anybody like this (white handkerchief) what is this in English? (White) the man you’re calling white is wrong, they are the one who taught us English, is there anybody on earth who is as white as the colour white, then why do you call a man a white man, that means your English is wrong. If you’re as black as my iPad cover then it’s only your teeth that people will see. ChurchGist. All these things are created to give people complex. I am not a black man, if you tell me I am a black man, I will tell you never I am not a black man. You ask me what kind of man am I? I am a man; I am not a black man. Are you a black man? I am not a black man and there is no white man, we are all men and women.
They have black association of preachers, I said complex! So, who are the preachers? Niger Delta association. Life story, they came to me and said we have ministers’ association from Niger Delta, I said I won’t join, it’s not pride, I was not at this level then, I said I will never join, you’re asking why? It will give me complex. ChurchGist. So, if I now meet a Yoruba man, I will now feel that I am inferior, we are all one, I am not part of Niger Delta Association of ministers, I won’t join. Minsters association I will join but don’t give me Niger Delta association I won’t join.
To develop self-positive image:
1) UNDERSTAND THAT GOD LOVES YOU.
Say with me God loves me. Please, if you say nobody loves you, who loves you? In case you think nobody loves you, who loves you. Romans 5:8. Today will be the last day you ever looked down on yourself. He loved you to a point that he died before you even repented. I saw a scripture that turned me on. Jeremiah 31:3. ChurchGist. I have loved you with an everlasting love. It’s not a temporary one. I have loved you with an everlasting love, the love can’t change. Look at yourself and say God loves me. Incase nobody loves you, who loves you? God. Why do you want to have low self-esteem when God loves you? Nobody loves you, it’s a lie, God’s love is enough, who does God love here?
2) LOVE YOURSELF
Mark 12:30-31, when you love God, you will love yourself. Many don’t love themselves because they don’t even love God. If you want to develop self-esteem, love God and that will make you love yourself. Those who love God love themselves. Matthew 32:37-39. Do you love yourself now?
Three Ways to Develop Positive Self Esteem.
Number one, know that you’re chosen and peculiar. 1st Peter 2:9. Say with me: I am chosen, I am a peculiar person, my peculiarity cannot be brought down, you’re too loaded to be pitied. My friend you’re a peculiar person. May your peculiarity begin to show forth to the world. Say with me: I am marvel to my world.
4) YOU’RE A SPECIAL PRODUCT AND A GOD’S HANDIWORK.
You created in God’s image; it should give you a sense if value. Genesis 1:26. Psalm 8:4. If angels are saying God, you like man too much, if angels are spying on you, why are men pitying you. Angel says you love man too much, angel’s envy you, angels say why are you mindful of man. They are asking God a question; you so love man. ChurchGist. Even the angels you don’t love us like that. You that angels are spying in, you’re allowing men to pity you. They way you’re looking that’s the reason, stop doing all those long faces even if your name is long face.
4) RENEW YOUR MIND.
Change your thinking.
Because as a man thinketh in his heart so is he. Proverbs 23:7. Romans 12:2. Renew your mind that God loves you, I am a child of destiny, I can’t live like a destitute, I have so much to offer the world, no I won’t look down on myself. Let the scripture guide your thinking pattern, when the devil comes to remind you, tell him: shut up , I’m not a nonentity. Philippians 4:8.
6) LET GO OF YOUR NEGATIVE PAST.
Isaiah 43:18-19. Forget the former things, yes you made mistake, you were a prostitute, put it behind you. Hello! Forgot it, it’s in the past. ChurchGist. Paul made a statement in Philippians 3:13-14. God won’t do it for you, God will not be the one to give you self-image. Your past is gone, you might not be able to do anything about your past but you can do something about your future, put the past behind you, it’s irreparable but don’t allow it affect your future. You don’t go forward looking backward, put the past behind you, you failed in life, forget it, you’re not a failure. I’m pressing forward, I don’t allow my past to affect me, somebody say amen to that, say with me: I won’t allow my past to affect my life. I put it behind me.
Now, I command your past plucked out from your mind in the name of Jesus. Listen, I am going to tell you something, so that you will understand what I am talking about. ChurchGist. Many people’s problem is that they don’t even forgive themselves, even when God has forgiven them of their mistakes, they refuse to forgive themselves, they will keep saying anytime I remember this thing it worries me. God has forgiven you.
I will show you a man who understood the Bible very well, if God has forgiven don’t ever remember it again. Remember not the former things. So, you remembering them you’re committing sin. God said don’t remember, any small thing you keep on wailing. Paul killed people, he stoned Stephen to death, he was the one that championed the stoning of Stephen to death, he killed people. ChurchGist. Just imagine when Paul was preaching, you would have seen many widows, they would be looking at him, is it not this one that killed my husband but hear what Paul said it will shock you. 2nd Corinthians 7:2. Paul declared that he is a new name, if you were a prostitute and now, you’re born again stop having complex, if the world said I used to know you, the one you knew has died, they ask Paul are you not the one that used to kill people, he said the one who use to kill people had died not me, I am a new man, I wrong nobody.
In case you ate money before you became born again, just tell them I didn’t eat any money. We have defrauded nobody. This is the Bible, but some of you; you keep remembering your past. Develop a new self-esteem, put your past behind you. Say with me: it’s gone. Now, I’m not joking, I don’t remember my past. One day somebody came to my office shouting oboi, he called me my old name, I said that man is dead, a life story, he called me the old name I used to bear, I won’t tell you the name. He called me by that name, I said that man is dead, he repeated it again, I said that man is dead, the man standing here is not that man, I’m a new man, the one standing before you are not the same man. In case they thought you are a prostitute, you’re not the same person. ChurchGist. Put it behind, don’t allow that to affect your feelings, don’t move bending your face, hey, my customers will see me. You’re not the same person. Even if he waves you as a customer, don’t wave at him, he’s trying to remind you of your past, snub him and pass, let him know you’re a new creature, old things are passed away. And don’t hang around people who will remind you of your past, cut off from anybody who will remind you of your past. Whoever reminds you of your negative past, don’t stay around that person.
7) KNOW WHO YOU’RE IN CHRIST.
Colossians 3:10. You have been renewed, so understand who you’re now in Christ. 2nd Corinthians 5:17. So, I now know who I am in Christ. ChurchGist. I have never existed before. When you’re born again, you’re a new born baby, old things have passed away, everything about your old is off, you’re completely new, it’s like a new born baby, the baby has no sin, that is how you’re. Are you hearing what I am saying? How many are getting blessed?
8) ASSOCIATE WITH POSITIVE PEOPLE.
If you want to come out if inferiority complex associate with positive people. Psalm 119:63. Don’t stay with people who talk down on you, positive people are faith filled people, they tell you YES, YOU CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN. If you come to this Church and see the way that I talk, even if your down and you hear me talk, you will have your hopes high that yes, I can succeed. Don’t stay around people that say look at you people now, poor people, see them poor people, I am talking to you, you can’t give people money. Don’t hang around such people, tell them I won’t stay around such person. Someone can tell you yes you came poor but you can be rich here. ChurchGist. Words are powerful, don’t stay with somebody who will talk you down every seconds. Look at you!
Stay around positive people, even for friendship mind who you pick. ChurchGist. There are some people if you meet them your spirit will just go down. You primary 6 drop out, you didn’t finish schooling, what do you say you want to do? Business! Oil business, did you study chemical engineering, you oil, is it palm oil or crude oil. He has already killed your spirit. He said I thought you’re talking about palm oil, you mean crude oil business, you crude oil. Leave such people 20 children don’t play together for 20 years. Don’t stay around such people, it’s better to be alone than to stay around such people.
9) SHARE TESTIMONY OF VICTORY AND NOT DEFEAT
1st Samuel 17:34-37. David when he wanted to meet Goliath, people don’t know, Goliath was making him feel inferior. Look, words are powerful. ChurchGist. The first thing Goliath was to make David feel inferior and what David did was to share testimony of his victory. He told Goliath, the God who gave me the lion and the beer will give me this uncircumcised Philistine.
We were together in the United States with a few people. I did something very humbling; we were talking and they said I should talk to the man for assistance. I said no I don’t do that, I don’t meet people for assistance, I don’t do that. ChurchGist. I said if God wants something he will do it, I will never ask a mortal man for something and while we were talking the man came up and asked is there anything that you want me to do for you? Because normally when people come from this part of the world the first thing an American will ask you is can he be of help to you, that’s the nature and then Nigerian will jump up I want you to give me this and that. ChurchGist. I started with testimony, I said Well, I shared the 1st one, I shared the 2nd one, I shared the 3rd one, I shared the 4th one and then brought out the background in the screen and he asked can he watch the clip, after he finishes watching it, he asked when will I come to Nigeria? He said I really want to come to Nigeria. I changed the table, he said I will love to come to Nigeria, I said will you love to come? Don’t worry I will give you an invitation. The one they said I should beg ended up telling me he wants to come.
I was sharing testimony with him, instead of me having a complex, he now had the complex. By the time I was going he used two hands to greet me. When you appear to share victories, stop sharing trials. If you want a high self-esteem, share victory, don’t share defeat. Are you hearing what I am saying?
David here was talking about the lion and the beer, so Goliath was nothing to him. Let me tell you this, never share trials, share only testimonies. You won’t hear trials from my mouth, we don’t share them, they are not good news, when you want complex to die share testimonies.
10) SAY GOOD THINGS ABOUT YOURSELF.
Speak positively about yourself. Numbers 13:32-33. You know the problem: why do people have inferiority complexes in this part of the world? They always talk negatively about themselves, even on social media. Words are powerful! You will never hear an American say negative things about America, never. You think they don’t have negative things, there are Americans who sleep close to white house who are homeless, in Los Angeles there are a large quantity of homeless people there, but you will never hear them say that America is a homeless Country. ChurchGist. If it’s Nigeria, everything is on social media, somebody coughs it’s on social media, someone goes to convenience, social media. These negative things are everywhere, there is scam everywhere in the world, is scam a Nigeria language? Crookedness is everywhere.
So, stop talking negative things about yourself. Look at yourself and say something good. Look at yourself in the mirror and say I am fine, I am beautiful, I am wonderfully made. Not that you now call people and ask them, they said I’m ugly. You have already accepted people’s opinion, people say that I’m ugly, am I really ugly. For you to say: people said that I am ugly, you have accepted your ugliness, if they say you’re ugly, are you ugly. If you’re short, God says lo I am with you always and there are men who like short women, you don’t know? There are men that like very short women. If you’re fat, the Bible says you shall be fat and flourishing. ChurchGist. So, there are men and women who only like fat people, if you’re tall, the Bible says you shall be like a palm tree whichever way you’re the best. If you have a big nose, when others are suffocating, you’ll have excess. See yourself as God made you. If you’re fair, there are people who like fair people, there are men that nothing in this world will make them go for a fair woman, you’re good for somebody, you’ll now look at yourself and say they said that I am ugly. Who told you that you’re ugly, you’re the most beautiful woman to who loves you, you’re the most handsome man to the woman who loves you.
Stop comparing yourself with anybody. People who go to win beauty queen are the finest people, fine people don’t go for beauty contests. Say good things about yourself. Everything coming out from your mouth is bad. I didn’t finish schooling. Nobody likes me, see how ugly my face looks. Even if your face is ugly, now it’s no longer ugly. ChurchGist. Say good things about yourself, when you’re coming to Church look yourself in the mirror and say God has created me wonderfully. I’m the only person he created in his own image. Psalm 139:14. I’m good. How can God call you very good and you now say that you’re very bad? Say Good things about yourself.
Over 7 billion people on earth, many people are fighting over self-esteem. This is what they fight with, it’s inside o. You need to meet me when I am outside, I talk more outside compared to when I am inside.
When I am outside you will see the things I have learnt coming outside. Once I see your expression when I go outside, because the average American is very proud. ChurchGist. Myself and my wife were standing and someone said you have accent, I said you also have accent, I didn’t get angry, my accent shows where u come from, your accent shows you’re an American, the person kept quiet, the person thought when he said it, I will be angry, I told him you have an accent also, my accent shows that I am from African and yours show that you’re from America. You know he is trying to tell me that I have a heavy tongue, I said you have an accent too, that why I know who you are, you know my accent, that why you know who I am, the man just said OKAY that’s true.
But somebody else who has a complex will say he’s saying now that my tongue is heavy, so you want to change my tongue at this my old age. How will I come to church and speak with an American accent? Won’t you ask what is wrong with Pastor David this morning. It’s too late for me to do that now, at this age. I can’t be like them, they can’t be like me, I am who I am and I preach to the entire world with this voice and the whole world listens from here, just be yourself. ChurchGist. Black, white, green, yellow, don’t have any complex. Complex is very powerful, have you not seen Nigerian leaders, African leaders who will go to United Nations and say please you need to help the Africans, poor Nation and you see a president using two hands to shake another president and somebody like Donald Trump who is very proud, he will bring out his hand in a very funny way, then the African leaders will now have to pay respect.
They voted the man as a president, they voted you as a president, when you meet there, you shake as presidents, I am the president of my Nation, you’re also the president of your Nation and me, when you meet me with my gospel, with the little result I have, I will make you look stupid, by the time you make noise, I will say Glory to God.
One day I was talking to somebody and he said Well our church, I said that is a home cell in our church. All the bragging in him died, I said the number you’re calling is home cell. If you think you will intimidate me, I will intimidate you. You know why? I have money! I have mouth! I have anointing! Haaaa! You can’t intimidate me, no way. ChurchGist. Nobody will intimidate you again, all over the world, whether you’re black or white nobody will intimidate you. Don’t ever have complex.
Life story, a small boy was in the park, so he watched a man in the park, he was blowing balloons, the white balloon went up, different colours went up, the boy was watching the man and a black balloon also went up. ChurchGist. So, the boy walked up to the man as a black boy, he said sir I have been watching you from afar I saw that all the balloons went up including the black balloon, what made it, the man laughed. He said what made them go up is not the colour, it’s what is inside, but the boy was a black boy he was wondering why the black balloon should go up with the white one. It’s not the colour it’s what is inside. What makes you is not the skin, it’s what is inside you.
11) SEEK THE HELP OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.
Psalm 121:1-2. Ephesians 1:17-18. God should open your eyes for you to know who you are, that’s your prayer. That’s what Paul said, he will make you know exactly who you are. Look at Moses for instance, he thought he was a stammer, God said no you’re a deliverer, Gideon saw himself as good for nothing, God said to him you’re a mighty man of valour. ChurchGist. Esther looked at herself as a slave girl God said to her, you’re a queen, Peter saw himself as a fisherman God saw him as a Apostle, Paul was able to see himself in the light of scriptures as an apostle unto the gentiles. Please hear this, re-enforce your mentality with positive things, build your faith and choose the right friends. Believe God for a new mentality, discipline what you see, discipline what you hear and discipline what you watch on television and social media. It can affect you positively or negatively, discipline even what you read, stop reading things that will bring your faith down, stop watching films that will affect your mentality. Don’t watch every film. The film you watch has power.
I’m going to close with this illustration that happened, an experiment done by a scientist. ChurchGist. I have shared before in Church. They brought children, they kept boys and girls together and they said to the boys, these are girls, know that you’re a boy, girls are inferior to you, they took them to class, the boys beat the girls. They brought the girls and kept them together, they said listen, whatever these boys can do, you can do, they keep telling them that, when they went to the class, the girls beat the boys. They separated the black boys from the white boys. ChurchGist. They said these people are black you are superior to them, the white boys beat the black boys, they brought all of them together, they said every one of you has something, all of them began to be the best.
You have heard nonsense talks too much, they look at you, they say you’re a Nigerian you can’t succeed, you’re a Ghanaian you’re already a failure, you’re Cameroonian, you’re already in the Cameroon, you hear to many nonsenses in your head, so, you sit like this and confirm them to be true. Nigeria, why did God even create me in Nigeria, why didn’t God put me in America, why Nigeria? Anywhere you’re born is the best place, God does not make mistakes. ChurchGist. So, build your self-confidence with God’s Word, be positive about life, it’s time to step up.
