*FIVE MOSQUES
*NO CHAPEL
*TWO DEMOLISHED CHAPEL PROJECTS
I want to sincerely appreciate all those that put in efforts and resources to generously demolish the ongoing construction of the Chapel in Kaduna State University (KASU). Ours were the sufferings he bore. Maybe our only option now is to share the mosque with our Muslim brothers, we will have a timetable of fellowship, Christian students fellowship time and Muslim students fellowship time, I guess this is the message you’ve been trying to pass across we just didn’t get it. Its now clear.
KASU has been in existence for 17 years now with over 5 Mosques without a single Chapel for the Christian students, we use classes for our fellowships and Mass, you will see students on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays moving up and down with various instruments on their heads to go organize the classroom where we worship, some times you go there and meet lecturers lecturing even when they know its fellowship time, it takes the grace of God to convince some to end the class, sometimes securities will be showing signs of wanting to close the class when you are in the middle of fellowship or sometimes most especially for us Catholics who have our Mass on Sunday by 7am, it takes the grace of God to access the classroom before time for Mass.
The Christian Community on Campus (CCC) alongside Joint Christian Campus Fellowship(JCCF) met with the school management to allocate a portion of land for the Christian body, 2 lands were given, one for catholics and the other for protestants. Lecturers gathered funds, students gathered funds, we the leaders know how much we sacrificed to see that students contribution was enforced by the management, a lot of run around and we were spoken harshly to but we never mind. As it is now, to get a big lecture hall for our functions is very difficult, we run round the school writing letter and getting declines. Yesterday, the foundation on both site were destroyed alongside the blocks.
Thank you for this generous act, we will live to remember this….
