THE STRENGTH OR THE WEIGHT OF PRAYER DETERMINES BOTH THE IMPACT AND THE OUTCOME OF PRAYER.
DON’T JUST PRAY, PRAY WITH STRENGTH AND YOU PRAY WITH STRENGTH BY EMPLOYING THE FORCES THAT GIVE STRENGTH TO PRAYER.
WHAT IS REVEALED DETERMINES WHAT CAN BE PURSUED AND WHAT IS PURSUED DETERMINES WHAT IS POSSESSED.
LIGHT IS REFLECTIVE AND WHEN YOU CARRY IT, IT SHOWS.
THE MORE OF GOD’S WORD YOU KNOW, THE MORE OF YOUR RIGHT YOU KNOW.

Preservation and Power Communion Service, Dunamis International Gospel Centre.

Thank You Master, blessed be Your name.

Hebrews 4:16
Subject is: ‘THE STRENGTH OF PRAYER’
We are going to have many parts of this, so this may be Part One. Our objective is to understand the forces that gives strength to prayer. It is one thing to pray but it is absolutely something else to pray effectively. It is one thing to pray but it is another thing to pray with results. The strength or the weight of prayer determines both the impact and the outcome of prayer.

The question is, what is it that determines the strength of prayer? What is it that determines the weight of prayer? When we say a prayer carries weight and a prayer carries strength, is it in the length of the prayer? Church Gist. Not necessarily, even though long prayer is good; we pray four, five, six, seven or more minimum hours at times. Is it in the vocabulary of the prayer? Is it the words we use or we select?
Not necessarily, even though the right words are good.
Is it in the shout of the prayer?
Not necessarily, even though when you are very passionate, you may scream at the place of praying.
Is it in some physical gesticulations, because there are people who do some body movements, like that determines some answers to prayer?
Not necessarily.
What is it then that determines the weight of prayer? I have seen people copy some people’s mannerisms of prayer, thinking that that may answer their prayers.
What is it that determines the weight, the strength of prayer? We are going to look at three of them tonight and then, continue on Sunday:

1). Quality relationship with God. The quality of your relationship with God is a determinant of the strength or the weight your prayer can carry. I will look at two examples:
a). Abraham. He had quality relationship with God (Genesis 19:27, Genesis 18:17-19). Church Gist. Abraham and God were together, the relationship was concrete and solid, no wonder he was the eminently qualified person to intercede powerfully and productively on the behalf of Sodom and Gomorrah, because of the quality of relationship he had with God, he could stand in the gap for a nation (Genesis 18:23-26).

Beloveth brothers and sisters, quality of relationship will determine the productivity and the effectivity of prayer.

b). Elijah. He had a strong stand and a relationship with God (1 Kings 17:1), so he could open Heavens and close the Heavens at will (James 5:17-19, 1 Kings 18:41-45). Two things you will take out of this point:
i). Request only makes sense where relationship is valid. Asking somebody for something makes the most sense if there is a relationship in place. Church Gist. I told my children some time ago, I said, whatever you want me to do for you per time, just let me know and whatever is needed per time, just let me know. If I don’t do it, it is possible it is because I can’t do it. If it is within my capacity, I will do it and also, if you are due for it or ripe for it, I will do it.

One kept me on the phone the other day for almost 50 minutes: “I have another question, I have another question.” Go ahead, I am available. It makes sense; is he taking my time?
No! What is the time for? But no stranger on the road occupies your life just like that. I am saying this because we can transpose it to our relationship with our Heavenly Father. He said, if you being evil know how to do these good things for your children, how much more shall your Father in Heaven? That is the first thing to note

ii). Requests made in the absence of relationship equals begging rather than praying and God has not called us to beg from Him; He has called us to pray to Him. Church Gist. So, there are many people who are actually begging and not praying, because they are talking to someone they have no relationship with. I am sure you know by the roadside, the guy who sits down and say, give me N1 or give me £50 is sitting there begging and begging is no respecter of colour.

I remember in London some time ago, my wife and I, a white man was begging us for money and followed us everywhere with begging. What do you want? He wants to go and eat. We said, “okay, come, let’s buy you the food.”
No, he is going to use the money to smoke something.

So, from this moment forward, before you rush to request, service your relationship. I have been in the office many times and a pastor comes to me and he said, “I am a pastor of so and so church and I just came to greet you and I came to just salute the grace of God on your life, like some people used to say and then, I am seeing him for the first time and then, the next thing he will say is, “Our anniversary is coming October, I don’t know if you will be available to be our Guest Minister.” I said, really? Church Gist. I am meeting you for the first time, I don’t know you from anywhere and you want me to come and be your Guest Minister and I don’t know the source of your oil. Why don’t you know me first, why don’t I know you first? I tell them these words straight, relationship is superior to request.

Don’t put request ahead, I just discount you on the spot. You want to use me, you didn’t come for anything and nobody wants to be used; everybody wants to be valued and appreciated and people do that and take it to God.
Lift up your right hand and say;
“Father, I receive the grace to develop relationship with You and not to struggle into request from You.”

When your relationship is so solid with God, He will do things for you, even things you don’t ask for (Ephesians 3:20, Isaiah 65:24).

2). The purity of conscience or a clear pure conscience affects the strength of prayer and it does that in two ways:
a). A clear conscience is foundation for boldness in the Spirit (Proverbs 28:1) and boldness is qualification for access to God (Hebrews 4:16).

b). A clear pure conscience grants both access and audience with God (Isaiah 59:1-2). Church Gist. That is, clean your life and clean your conscience to have access and have audience with God. Two examples:
i). Daniel – he was a man who will not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat (Daniel 1:8, Daniel 6:4, Daniel 6:10, 21-23).

ii). Paul the Apostle (Acts 24:16). Paul the Apostle became the symbol of prayer in the New Testament (1 Thessalonians 5:17, Ephesians 6:18).

Two things to note:
a). Whatever defiles the conscience denies your access. So, you must not exist with a conscience that is not clear before God and man. Church Gist Don’t sleep over unconfessed sin and you don’t live in a habitually defiled conscience.
b). Whatever defiles your conscience deflates your boldness, whether boldness at the place of prayer or boldness to face things.

3). The sharpness of Word revelation. Whenever we are talking about Word revelation, we are talking about the light of God’s Word and I want you to note three things about light or revelation:
a). Light or revelation is vehicle into the Presence of God. The Presence of God is accessible by light and revelation (Psalm 43:3). That is, there is a scripture that will open for you, that take you direct into divine Presence. You just find yourself in His front by light and you have to be with Him to address Him; you cannot be on the street and be talking to a man in his bedroom. There is a diagnosis for that, it is insanity.

When revelation lights you and you are instantly ushered into His front, you know. Your audacity changes level; your rascality in the physical changes level. You are seeing things and you are hearing things that people can’t see. Worship is one way to access His presence and another way is instant light; you just see it, you feel something (Hosea 14:2, 1 Samuel 3:21). Church Gist. The release of the Word equals the appearance of the Lord. I saw something in scripture this morning and somebody sent me a text and I replied him out of what I saw from the scripture. He is a friend, not a foe, so I replied him from what I saw in the morning. I said, “Lions don’t fear dogs.” Without are dogs and who are those within? The brethren of the Lion of the tribe of Judah. You are connected to lion, you are a lion.

Revelation 22:15
Sorcerer means witches, murderer means killers, so both witches and killers are in the class of dogs. To be fearing a witch is for a lion to be fearing a dog. The roar of a lion paralysis a dog, he loses his doghood and capacity to bark.

b). Light or revelation unveils your inheritance, it shows you what belongs to you, which is raw material for prayer (Deuteronomy 29:29, Acts 20:32). The Word of God is the container of your inheritance (1 John 5:14). So, the more of His Word you know, the more of your right you know. Church Gist. Light communicates right; the light of His Word reveals the right of man. When you connect light, you understand right and when you understand right, you attain might and when you attain might, you can engage in the fight and when you successfully fought, you can take the flight.

It is from light to right; from right to might; from might to fight and from fight to flight.

  • I prophesy and declare upon someone here, you are taking off in the air shortly, until people are surprised and wondering, what happened to this man? We were at the same level before, and you will tell them; “I saw light and I saw my right and I got my might and I engaged in the fight and I took the flight.”

Please, don’t just carry the Bible, know what the Bible carries. Don’t just put the Bible under your pillow to sleep, so that maybe you can sleep for protection; put the content of the Bible inside your head and your heart, then you will be a mobile weapon. Somebody testified on Tuesday, Healing and Deliverance Service, how the devil tied them down in their family, ten of them, all the girls tied down. Church Gist. The mother gave birth to ten children and all the girls, none could give birth to more than a child; others, children died and so on and suddenly, she saw in a revelation, where she said she saw me and Dr (Mrs) Enenche coming out of a forest around their village and he said, “What is happening?” And we said, “We are looking for witches to kill. I think the best place to find them is in the forest.” And then, we came to their house and began to look and then he said, “One big pussy cat saw me, he looked small and turned back.” Only the pussycat knew what he saw.
Look at your neighbour and say;
“Go for light!”

c). Light or revelation is fuel for faith (Romans 10:8, 17. So, revelation/light fires faith into your heart and you know that faith is a guarantee for answered prayers (Hebrews 11:6). So, the Word fires faith into your heart and with that faith, you approach God at the place of prayer and as you are praying, not from doubt, but from faith.

“Father, I give You the praise, I give You the honour because Moses was 120 years old, his eyes were not dimmed, his natural strength did not reduce; I am only thirty years old, I refuse to be weak. I am only one quarter of Moses’ age, I refuse my eyes to be dimmed.” You are just firing it from the dimension of faith because you saw something:
Jesus, You took my infirmity. What is taken cannot be there. I can’t have fever today, back pain tomorrow; I refuse that. Even if I am pregnant, I refuse such pregnancy symptoms.” That is the power of the Word that makes your prayer forceful. Church Gist. So, somebody can pray a thirty minutes target specific, revelation infiltrated, faith inspired prayer and it will catch target like the precision of a sniper, a sharp shooter. You know there are some snipers trained to shoot without missing, that are like one man army. They can waste one thousand people at once, just like that; sharp shooting. While somebody is praying a flabby prayer for the next three hours, sentiment is inside, emotion is inside; “Lord, I have been praying all these years, what have You done? Lord, they say we should always confess faith, but let me tell the truth. Lord, I am not doubting ooo, but I want to let You know that I am tired.”

  • That shall never be your portion!

Lift up your right hand and say:
“Father, I receive the grace to walk in the realm of light, faith and revelation in the name of Jesus for the strength of prayer. Thank You Master, in Jesus precious name.”

I will tell you the impact of the power of light: one day in our church in Area One, what I’m about to say is about twenty something years old. I came out of the office and I met a young man, his mother and about 3-4 people held him and chained his hands with about 4 padlocks and with the chain, yet four people needed to still hold him, despite how they chained him and the mother looked at me and said, “He is my only son and now, he is mad” and I was coming from the office and I looked at them and I said, “Leave him!” Church Gist. They looked at each other, “leave who? Somebody that all of us cannot hold?” Then they looked at each other like, “well, he is here too. So, if the man is attacking anybody, himself is here too.”
Next thing surprised them; loose him (first, leave him, second is loose him). Meaning, open the padlocks.
What? Loose who?
Now, prayer had not been prayed. If you have said, devil, I bind you. Get out! Then, they would have had faith that something had been prayed. Prayer has not been prayed yet. The first statement is leave him. Statement number two, loose him.

So, they looked at each other like, all of us are here, so let’s loose him. If he attacks anybody, he too is here. The loosed the young man, unwind the chain, his hand was bleeding. He adjusted his dress and I said to him; “Sorry.” He said, “Thank you Sir.” That was the person that nobody could hold and I said, “Kneel down.” He went on his knees. I said, “Lift up your hands.” He lifted his hands, that four people could not hold him, including his mother. He is obeying a stranger.
Say, “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to You. Lord Jesus, I am not mad, I cannot be mad.”
He repeated everything and then I said, “So, you are free in Jesus name!”
Mother, take your son. Bye…

That commando style operation, that operation did not last for more than five minutes and I walked my way, I started going. Our pastor was following me, he is in Kaduna now, he was behind me and he followed and said, “Excuse me Sir, what just happened? Church Gist. You didn’t pray. You just said, ‘loose him and leave him’ and he is free just like that?
Then I told him, I was just coming from seeing light. The devil came at the wrong time; I just saw something from the office and I was basking in that light, radiating the light when darkness came. It is like, lion was looking for fight and what was the light?
Luke 10:16 – “He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth you despiseth me: and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.”

Now, revelation is the Holy Ghost interpreting to you what He meant when He wrote what He wrote. So He said, what this scripture says is, anything that hears Christ must hear you. It means, any devil that cannot disobey Him cannot disobey you. The only thing that can despise you is what can despise me, that is what the Bible says. Church Gist. That was the first thing I heard from that passage, then I began to look for the devil who will despise me, then I heard the second one from this same passage; every time you speak, my voice is in your voice. So when I said, leave him, it wasn’t me that devil heard. Then when I said again, loose him. The devil heard the voice of the One whose voice was inside my voice. That was why he went on his knees without complaint.

He went free, free for free. No medication, no payment for psychiatric consultation, he went free for free, for good. That is what light does and light is reflective, when you carry it, it shows.

  • Today, I announce to somebody, the light you are going to see from this moment is going to change a situation around your life!
  • Every devil that has ever despised you, their end is here forever!

Two examples of people who prayed with light;
1). Elijah prayed according to the Word and fire fell (1 Kings 18:36-38). If you are going to make fire to fall in your generation, you are going to pray and act according to the Word.

2). Daniel approached God on the basis of what was written in the book (Daniel 9:1-3, Daniel 9:20-23). Church Gist. You can move Heavens in your direction if you will understand the book and pray according to the book.

This is the summary:
1). Revelation in the Word is the major fuel for supplication, petition, intercession, adoration and other forms of prayer. If you have revelation, you flow in supplication. Supplication is when you are coming to ask God for something. Petition is when you are going to report something to God; “Lord, warn that devil!” Intercession is when you are standing in the gap for somebody else or for a nation; not for yourself. Adoration is when you came before God, not to ask for anything, but to let Him know that He is God. All of that, flow from revelation.

  1. What is revealed determines what can be pursued and what is pursued determines what is possessed. If you know that it is yours, you pursue it and if you pursue it, you possess it (Habakkuk 2:1-4).

What is my counsel this night?
Don’t just pray, pray with strength (I am not talking of physical muscle) and you pray with strength by employing the forces that give strength to prayer. Sunday, we will continue with more of the forces. We are going to come across many other interesting forces that make for prayer impact.

  • I believe it is a new day for somebody!

Lift up your voice and appreciate God for the Word you have received.

PRAYERS:

  • Father, draw me closer to You; help me Lord in the maintenance of quality relationship with You. Help me to know You like never before, open my eyes to know You like never before. Draw me closer to Yourself oh Lord in the name of Jesus.
  • Father, I plead the blood of Jesus for the cleansing of my conscience, of my lifestyle and character. Father, have mercy on me, any area of my life that is short of Your expectation, I receive mercy and forgiveness, so I can have access and boldness in Your Presence. I receive, Lord in the name of Jesus.
  • Father, open my eyes to Your Word. Help me Lord to behold wonders out of Your Word in the name of Jesus. Father, let my faith receive fresh fire from fresh insight and fresh light in Your Word, Oh Lord in the name of Jesus.

Isaiah 4:5

  • Father, we ask for the defense of Your glory around Your church in Nigeria and around Your church, Dunamis against every onslaught and confrontation of hell in this season in the name of Jesus.

Exodus 12:12

  • Father, we ask that You will pass through the land of Nigeria today and execute Your judgement on all evil altars, high priests and personalities responsible for death, doom and destruction in the Nation, oh Lord in the name of Jesus.

I see a fresh mantle of prayer coming, a fresh spirit of prayer, a fresh fervency and victory at the place of prayer:

  • Father, I receive the robe of intercession, the spirit of prayer, the grace of intercession, prayer and fervency in the Spirit, I receive now!
