Shall we lift our hands to Heaven this morning and give Him praise and glory. Church Gist. Exalt Him because no one is like Him, forever He is on the throne. He is worthy to be glorified, blessed be God forever in Jesus’ most wonderful name.
- I decree this month of July with praise in action, every one ahead of you, you will overtake them. Church Gist. God’s hand will come mightily upon you, you will overtake those ahead of you.
This month is our month of, ‘LET’S PRAISE HIM’ and today we will be looking at, ‘BECOMING A KINGDOM WONDER’ Part 2 (Dedication). Becoming a kingdom wonder is a possibility. Church Gist. All you need to do is to do what is required, and you get what you desire. Becoming means it is a process. You don’t become a medical doctor just by wishing, you become a medical doctor by going through medical school. Church Gist. You can never become a professor by confessing it. You have to be a professor you must pay the price for it. Musicians in Lagos they answer everything. They say, ‘Barrister, Commander, Professor’ but those ones are not recognized.
What is dedication? Dedication is the secret for one to be a Kingdom wonder. John 12:24-26. Fruitful Christianity has to do with deadness to self. Church Gist. It does not mean physical death, it is talking about dedication. Your level of dedication will determine the height you will attain in the Kingdom of God.
Dedication begins with affection for God. It graduates to devotion and matures to addiction. Church Gist. Many say they are dedicated; the question is, ‘at what rate and at what level are you dedicated?’ In Psalm 92:13-15, even in the natural, you don’t see a tree here today and see the tree somewhere tomorrow. If you come 100 years, where the tree was planted, that’s where it will remain. Church Gist. God is saying, the kinds of people that will flourish in the house of God are those who stay put in His house; not the ‘wakabouts, not those who move about for miracles.’
It is only those who are planted that flourish. So, if I want to stand out, I must be sold out to Jesus. To be distinguished, your life must be a seed. Church Gist. Many are born again but few are dedicated. Altar call makes you a child of God, dedication makes you a disciple of God. Disciples don’t move anyhow.
When everybody left, Jesus asked the 12, ‘won’t you go away?’ Peter said, ‘we can’t go away; you have the words of eternal life.’
In Mark 4:26-29, When you plant a seed, you don’t bother yourself with growth. You don’t go every morning to say, ‘seed I prophesy to you to grow.’ Just plant your seed on a good soil and it grows. Church Gist. So, dedication is the end to all struggles. When you just dedicate your life, you don’t get up every day and say, O God bless me; you’re blessed. You don’t say, O God I need money, it just comes.
Dedication means to be devoted wholly and earnestly to God and His affairs.
I gave my life (to Christ) 16th July, 1995, I got dedicated 1996 – I knew the point I became dedicated. Making altar call does not make you to be dedicated. Church Gist. Dedication is when you are sold out, ‘if I perish I perish, God you alone.’ You move from altar call to dedication. I was not a Pastor 1996 when I became dedicated; I became a pastor 1997. I was going to Church from Victoria Island to Iyana-ipaja in Lagos; it’s not a close distance, it’s far. You enter 4 vehicles to get to Church and I won 56 souls as a brother. Church Gist. 56 souls that were born again, baptized, immersion, registered, have membership number, came to Church, 56 of them as a brother. I had all their addresses, and then there was no mobile phone in Nigeria. I preached to more than 56 but 56 of them were full members of the Church.
Some of you have been born again for 10 years, nothing to show for it. All you are after is needs. You sleep in the night, wake up and say, ‘naira naira.’ We were in Victoria Island, a young man every time he prays he says, ‘Deuteronomy 8:18’. Church Gist. I said, ‘this boy, make you no craze oo(don’t go crazy oo), we are not praying money.’ If you say pray for souls to be won, he will say Deuteronomy 8:18. Go and find out from the Igbos in the East part of Nigeria what is ‘Ịtakwu.’ Ịtakwu is the madness that you are not outside, yet they can’t employ you for anything; decorative madness. You just sit down one place and be talking. Church Gist. Some people, the love of money has caused ‘Ịtakwu.’ They are not dedicated; they are dedicated to money. Those people who died because of food what will they tell God when they get to Heaven? If they say there’s early morning service, they won’t come. But if they say there’s early morning food people will gather. They were dedicated to food and not to God. Church Gist. If tomorrow we say we are going to give everyone 10,000, (politicians give only 1,000 and people die for it) by 3am some people will be standing by the gate.
Matthew 6:33. Don’t make money your God!
MAJOR AREAS OF DEDICATION
1) To God and His kingdom: Matthew 6:31-33. that’s a paradox because an average person that (needs) is what he is praying about. Church Gist. He said don’t focus on what to wear, eat, things we are bothering ourselves, but focus on His kingdom and watch if those things will not be added to you.
- I pray that today, as you have understanding of God’s Word, the things that others are looking for shall be added to you.
Your dedication to God will determine His additions to your life. You can’t seek God first and not come out first in life. Church Gist. Those who seek God first will not need to seek anything. Psalm 34:10b. Your dedication should be based on who God is not necessarily what He has given or what you can get from Him. You are dedicated to God because of who He is. Your dedication should be that, God you are God whether you get it or not. It does not change who you are. If you serve God because you need a job the day you get the job you backslide. If there’s any reason you are serving God for, I can tell you when you get it, you will not serve Him again. Church Gist. Serve Him for who He is. That’s where dedication starts. I am not serving God because of anything, I am serving Him for who He is. He must be Lord of all.
When you are truly dedicated to God, selfishness will die because selfishness is a destroyer. The best use of life is to love God, dedicate it to God and His affairs. Watch a life that is not sold out to God, it is a useless life. God cannot use you and you end up being useless. He is not as user of men, he is a blesser of men. Church Gist. He used Peter’s boat in Luke 5:1-7. And after preaching, Jesus said to him, you have toiled all night, your business was frustrated, I don’t use men and dump men, now cast your net into the deep. May God give you that kind of blessing.
When you are dedicated, what others are pursuing come after you. Dedication is the secret. There are 2 sets of people: O level Christians (Matthew 7:7) and A level Christians (Isaiah 65:24). There are people who don’t ask.
I was in a store in the Europe about 3 or 4 days ago. I picked up some things to buy, a young man was just standing; I didn’t know he was standing at my back. Church Gist. After I was done, I was trying to pay and he told the young man with me, ‘stop, don’t pay.’ I had the money to pay so it is not that I don’t have the money. There’s no nation on Earth I have gone to where I don’t get money.
I was somewhere on Thursday, money looked for me even where I was sitting. I didn’t step out yet money found its way to where I am. Did you hear me at all? Are you jealous? Hard currency not Naira. Church Gist. Somebody gives you Naira abroad, he is cursing you. You can imagine you go to America and somebody gives you Naira; even if they see the note they say, what currency is this?
I’m sure a time is coming when God will make Naira a strong one. We prophesy over it in the name of Jesus; that is, if you will be wise enough to vote the right person. Who is the right person? I don’t know. Church Gist. But may Esau not destroy Nigeria. Young people hear me: don’t think of who will give you money, think of who will give you employment. If you have money today and people are not employed, you are still in poverty. Please all Nigerians, think of posterity; don’t think of who will just give you money to eat now. After you eat today won’t you eat tomorrow? Vote people who have a dream for Nigeria not a man who has just to give money for election. Church Gist. I stop there. I know you want to hear from me (laughs). I don’t have anybody in mind but God should give you wisdom to know at this point where Nigeria should go to.
Peter dedicated his best to Jesus. You know, he was a fisherman that was the major tool he had in his business. Dedication is giving your best for God to use. Church Gist. Peter was not expecting a reward yet God rewarded him. Peter did not give God conditions. Peter just said, use my best to preach. God said, I am not a user of men, I bless you.
- God will bless somebody today!
Your tomorrow will be determined by your dedication today. 1 Corinthians 2:9-10. The Holy Ghost will not reveal things to you if you don’t love God. I get revelation from God with ease not because I am the most vigorous person who studies. Church Gist. Yesterday He (God) was just telling me things as simple as how to welcome people; he dictated it to me verbatim. Is it those who read more that passes exam? Some people carry plenty books and still fail. The brilliant ones just write the points but the ones who don’t know chew biro and ask for more paper. Church Gist. So dedication born out of love is the secret for distinction.
John 14:21. May God manifest Himself to you!
Affection plus dedication equals manifestation. Love provoked dedication triggers manifestation. Church Gist. This is the problem: Many have no affection, no traceable dedication, yet they want manifestation. They don’t love God for anything, all they want is give me give me. I am telling you that the secret of endless reigning is Dedication. Okay, if it is political, these ones by May will be gone. If any of them stays beyond May, even you will cast them out. That shows that it is only the Kingdom where things are permanent. Even that English, ‘Permanent Secretary’ it is wrong. Church Gist. It means it is supposed to be permanent but they change them every time. They should call them, ‘Temporary secretary.’ It is political secretary. You people speak English and you confuse us again.
You told me this is white (white handkerchief) and after you say that’s a white man; I don’t understand all these English. Then you say this is a black man and I have not seen anybody who is like charcoal. Church Gist. Even the ones from Uganda who are very black are not like that. You people confuse us with plenty English. You know how to speak England, you have not got scholarship.
Let me say this to you: The end of all struggles is Matthew 6:33. It makes you a wonder to your world. You will experience God the way you have never experienced Him. Please avoid this hit and run Christianity. Church Gist. You come today to Church because you want something the next day you won’t come for 3 weeks. That’s not how to serve God. Dedication is not a gift; it is a choice. Joshua 24:15. Matthew 6:33 is the answer to all questions of life. Focus on God and things of God, serve God with everything in you. Church Gist. Make soul winning a priority, Kingdom Advancement Prayers as a lifestyle, you won’t struggle any more.
Position, appointment, should not change you; just be who you are. David as a King did not change because he is a king that was why God said he is a man after His heart. If it was today, once they give people appointment you don’t see them in Church anymore. Church Gist. When they sack them, they become very humble; or when their term is over. Check every politician now: they don’t shout again because May, they will go. If any of them stays beyond 29th Nigerians will cast them out. Is that why a man will not serve God? Term that is short. Mark 8:36.
Serve God with everything inside you. Attend Church programs, use your time, energy, talents, skills, resources for the advancement of the Kingdom of God. Mark 12:30-31. Dedication changes our position and story. 2 Chronicles 15:3-15. Church Gist. Dedication is the key to rest. It’s time to dedicate your lives so that all frustration will come to an end. Enslave your life to God and life will become a slave to you. Proverbs 23:26. The reason many people forget Church service is because their heart is not there.
