PUT GOD FIRST IN EVERYTHING YOU DO.
SEEK THE SPIRITUAL BEFORE YOU TALK ABOUT THE PHYSICAL.
YOU WOULD GET MORE FROM HIM BY PRAISING AND WORSHIPPING HIM THAN BOMBARDING THE HEAVENS WITH YOUR REQUEST.
IF YOU ARE NOT DILIGENT, YOU WILL FAIL.
YOU SAY YOU CAN PRAY AND QUOTE THE BIBLE, IF YOU ARE NOT STUDYING HARD, YOU WILL FAIL.
GOD NEVER CALLS THE LAZY.
DO NOT SPOIL THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST BY BEING LAZY IN YOUR PLACE OF WORK.
GOD IS NOT INTERESTED IN LAZY PEOPLE

🎼There is none Holy as the Lord.
There is none beside Him
Neither is there are any rock like our God.
There is none Holy as the Lord🎼
Holy One of Israel, the One who is as pure as light, because He Himself is light, we worship you, we thank you for the power in your Word, power to heal and deliver, power to set captives free. Our Father and our God, we believe that many of the people listening to you now, their time has come, even while they are not expecting it, help is already on the way, accept our thanks in Jesus name, as we continue in our study today, anoint our ears, anoint our heart and let us understand so that we can grow higher. In Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
Praise the Lord!
We will continue with our series on Going Higher, as we now move on to part 66. 1st Kings 19: 19. We stopped last Sunday on the issue of priority. ChurchGist. That God told Elijah specifically, go and handle the issue of the King of Syria, then go and handle the issue of the King of Israel and then go and anoint a successor. ChurchGist. But Elijah who was well known for being absolutely obedient to God changed the order and went to Elisha first, we were talking about the issue of priority, we told you that you must take care of your family first before you begin to consider anything, in all your consideration, consider putting your family first.
Elijah put the one who is to be his adopted son first, he decided to put first the prophet before the King, he decided that there must be a Samuel before we can talk about King Saul. 1st Samuel 3: 19-20. Samuel was established, that was in 1st Samuel 3. King Saul only came into the scene in 1st Samuel 10:1-27. The prophet is superior to the King, why? The Spiritual controls the physical. Put God first in everything you do. 2nd Chronicles 1:6-15. When Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings to God; God paid him a visit and said what do you want, you have an open cheque. ChurchGist. He said give me wisdom, so that I can look after your people correctly. Man of God, woman of God, seek the spiritual before you talk about the physical.
As you’re growing higher, please build people before you begin to build Churches. The Elders have a saying, they ask you to build and train your child, send them to school, instead you said I’m building my house first, they said it’s the child you did not build that will sell the house that you have built. Put your son first. Build disciples first, particularly as you’re going higher because God is going to take you far, your ministry is going to grow, when your ministry begins to grow, you’re going to need disciples to help you sustain the growth.
Some of you would say I have no congregation yet; you’re going to have, don’t think I have been spending so many Sundays on going higher for no reason at all. What I’m actually doing is that I’m building you up too, to be my disciples and through me to be disciples of Jesus Christ. Why? Because there is work ahead, you’re going to learn more about this as we are going higher, we will be going deeper. ChurchGist. Consider the Redeemed Christian Church of God for example, it doesn’t matter the anointing God has put upon me, how would I be able to handle the explosion that has happened to us, if God had not prepared disciples and God is still going to make us a thousand times bigger than we are. So, we are going to need many more disciples through you. Solomon said give me what I need to take care of your people, God said good, you’ve answered well, I will give you what you have not asked for.
Another aspect of priority that you need to learn is how do you even pray, because some of you go to God in prayer, bombarding the Heavens with your request, is that what should be your priority? John 4:23-24. It is now that we are calling the gathering of the children of God on Sunday or any other time as Sunday service, it wasn’t so in the beginning, it was Sunday worship in the beginning, we gather to worship God. Do you know it would be fully satisfactory to God that we go to Church on Sunday and you do absolutely nothing other than just to worship Him, He will surprise you. ChurchGist. Oh, I know He promised that He will answer your prayers and all of that; that is true, but Isaiah 65:6 says you must seek the Lord while He may be found, call on Him while He’s near. How do you know when He is near? When you worship Him, He will come near. Then Jeremiah 33:3 can kick in.
How good is your praise life? Man of God, how much time do you spend worshipping Him? Priority is what I’m discussing, when we are praising and worshipping God, many of you mighty men and women of God, you’ll be looking at us as if we are not alright. I see some pastors casually strolling about when praise and worship is going on, oh, they are just doing praise and worship , the service has not started. ChurchGist. Oh, by the time the praise and worship is over the service is almost over. You need to go back to a lifestyle of praise and worship. Priority! That is seeking the Spiritual first before you begin to talk of the physical. ChurchGist. I know a time on this Campground, we were going to have a weekend of special Holy Ghost service, it was for Friday and Saturday and I was praying on Friday, God people are coming perform miracles, signs and wonders and He said, son shut up, all I have done for you, how much thanks have you given? I want you to thank me and praise me and do nothing else, that is all I want. Yes Lord! I praised and worshipped Him, I can remember that night like yesterday, 14,000 people were healed in one service, whereas I didn’t have the time to pray for healing, I just worshipped Him, after we finished the service, I went into the prayer room, fell on my face thanking Him and He spoke, He said son keep worshipping me and I will do more tomorrow, at that time the entire congregation was a little above fourteen thousand (14,000), how can you do more tomorrow, you’ve healed almost everybody. By the following day, all those who came the previous day had gone to town to announce to their friends, you were not there, you missed. The following day the crowd gathered like we have never seen before, that day when we called forward those who were healed and I made sure the ushers counted them one after the other, sixteen thousand (16,000) people were healed. When a Church grows from 14,000 to 30,000 in one day, you can be sure it was God, I was frightened. You would get more from Him by praising and worshipping Him than bombarding the Heavens with your request. Keep that in mind as you grow higher.
This brings me to another point. It is the issue of diligence. The Bible says when Elijah arrived, he met Elisha busy in the farm, he had eleven labourers ploughing, he joined them ploughing with the 11, many of you if you have 11 employees, you will never join them in working anymore, you’re the CEO, the Managing Director, let the boys do the work, you must be a big boy, at least you have 11 people working for you. No! Elisha was hardworking, he was diligent. Psalm 115:3. God does as He pleases, but He is not arbitrary, take note of that everybody. Hebrews 11:6. God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
God lays a lot of emphasis on diligence, everything you do for Him must be done diligently, every facet of your life must be permeated with diligence. Exodus 15:26. You’re not to listen to God anyhow, you’re to hearken diligently, to hearken means to listen with rapt attention, you’re to hearken diligently, He said I will make sure you don’t even fall sick, I will become your physician. hearken diligently. Deuteronomy 28:1-13. It is loaded with blessings, He said you will be running from blessings and the blessings will overtake you. He said if the enemies come before you in one way, they will flee in seven ways. But if you read verse 1, read the condition for all the blessings. If you will hearken diligently to the voice of your God, to observe and to do, all that He commands, then the blessings will begin to follow you, He lays emphasis on diligence. Proverbs 12:24. He says it is the diligence that will bear root, the hardworking fellow is the one that will reach the top, the diligent man is the one who will rule over the lazy ones. Proverbs 22: 29. A man diligent will stand before Kings and not ordinary men.
Diligent people! Oh God is love, God is interested in you, He loves you so much, if you’re the only one in the world, He would have sent His son to die for you, but let me tell you the truth, if you’re not diligent you will fail. If you’re diligent, those who are supposed to be inferior to you will rule over you, His Word says the diligent will bear root.
I said this to my children who are students and I hope they are listening to me now, you say you can pray and quote the Bible if you’re not studying hard, you will fail. They said what about the scripture that said the Holy Spirit will remind us of all things; all things that you have read and what I have taught you. Where is the Holy Spirit when I fail? The Holy Spirit will comfort you, oh my son you failed this year, that is not the end of the story, you’ve just delayed your promotion by one year. ChurchGist. You’ve learned your lesson, go back to being diligent and you will begin to rise. Diligent people will bear root. The Bible says the sloughtful shall be under tribute. You’re lazy, you’re the one who will supply what the diligent ones will use to enjoy.
You don’t believe me, go to the football field when there is a match, see the crowd at the stadium who pays to enter the field and see the number of people that are going to share the money that people paid to watch the match? The diligent people will bear root, the sloughtful shall be under tribute. Why are you where you are now? Could it be that you’re sloughtful, God never calls the lazy. Because some of you will say how come He chose Elisha? Because He saw a diligent young man. How come He chose Peter? Luke 5:1-11. Peter fished all night, lazy people don’t fish all night, lazy students don’t study all night. ChurchGist. When He chose Matthew. Matthew 9:9. Matthew was a tax collector, he was a custom man, He found him at his point of duty, don’t spoil the name of the Lord Jesus Christ by being lazy in your place of work, God is not interested in Lazy people. If you want to go higher, you must be diligent. 1st Thessalonians 5:17. Pray without ceasing, it takes diligence to pray without ceasing. Matthew 7:7-8. Ask, seek and knock. You have to ask and keep asking, you have to seek and keep seeking and when you finally find the door, knock and keep knocking. Luke 18:1-5. Jesus Himself told us the story of a woman who needed help and she went to a Judge, the one who can help her, help me she said, the Judge said I don’t fear God, I don’t fear any man, I’m not going to bother myself with you. The woman said we will see, the woman kept on troubling him until the judge said even though I don’t fear God and man, if I don’t do something about the case of this woman, she won’t let me rest.
Keep knocking, until the door is open. You have something you have been asking God for, keep knocking, don’t give Him rest until the answer comes and the answer will come if we knock hard and long enough. I’ll remind you of the story of a woman who came from the North. We’ve just finished our Convention and I don’t know why she came late, I was very tired. I got home and I gathered my family together, we prayed a short prayer, you know there is a kind of prayer you pray when you’re tired. Lord thank you for everything you’ve done, see you tomorrow and I went to bed. I told my wife, I don’t want to be disturbed, I’m tired. ChurchGist. If you want to know how tired I was, I only removed my shoes, I didn’t remove any other thing and I hit the bed. Almost as soon as I got in, the woman came from the North and she asked my children, is Daddy in, they said yes but he is not seeing anybody.
The woman said is he in? They said Yes. She sat down at the front of the door, I’m not going anywhere till he comes out, he’s not coming out today, the woman said who is talking about today, they gave her food, she ate and sat down there. Just as I was drifting off to sleep, my wife came and knocked at the door, she woke me up, I said but I told you I’m tired, she said I know. There is a woman at the door who says she is not moving, you better add her case to your tiredness. I had to get up and come to her. I asked her, what is your problem? She came all the way from the North, she said there was something wrong with her head, it is always refusing good things, she said touch the head and that would be the end of her problem, she said she would be okay. She got what she wanted because she refused to let go. ChurchGist. In prayers you must be diligent, so after the service today, don’t just go back and begin to drink tea or anything, pray without ceasing and I will hear your testimony soon.
Those of you who will say I’m not a child of God but you said I should pray, He’s not going to open the door if you have not opened the door of your own heart to Him. Revelation 3:20. And you’re saying; No! I don’t want Jesus Christ to come into my life, I just want the miracles He can give, you’ll be wasting your time. So, I appeal to you, if you want your prayers answered, open the door of your heart to Him now and let Him come in.
