LIVING IN THE SUPERNATURAL is the theme but today we will be looking at, ‘PRAISE FOR SUPERNATURAL ENCOUNTERS.’
The supernatural is more real than the natural. The supernatural is controlled by two forces: God and the devil; good and evil. Church Gist. But God is always and will remain superior at any time because that which is from above is above all. Whatever happens in the natural has first and foremost happened in the supernatural. Before Jesus was born, He said, ‘I am the lamb that was slain before the foundation of the world.’ So already, supernaturally He has been slain. He said, ‘I am He that was dead and I am alive.’ He didn’t say I am He that will die. If you see anything happen to you, it has happened first in the spirit. Church Gist. If you take control of the supernatural, you can control the affairs of the natural. But many don’t ever bother about the supernatural. For you to succeed in the natural, you must first succeed in the supernatural.
Supernatural simply means superior to the natural. It is a compound word, super and natural. Today is the beginning of a new Month; are you happy to be in God’s presence?
- In Psalm 81:1-5, as we praise God this first day, it will give birth to testimonies!
Every time you start the month with praise you are bound to have testimonies. You don’t wait; every beginning of the month whether we gather in church or even at home, start the month with praise. Yesterday we praised God, few minutes to 12 till past 12. Church Gist. It’s a normal thing in our family. Members of the Church who are old know. You don’t start any month without praise. In Numbers 10:10, yes you give offering, tithes, give many things, but it says when the month begins, praise me so that all the things you have been sowing as seed, he will remember all.
- Today, as you start the month with praise, this month shall be your best month ever!
Praise is a spiritual weapon that is very potent in the hands of a believer who knows how to use it. If you know how to use the weapon of praise, you will be getting results without sweat. Life will become sweet. Church Gist. Many don’t praise; they can pray for 40 days but never praise for one day. When you pray, He dispatches angels to answer you but when you praise, He manifests Himself.
This month of supernatural living, we have to praise God for a turnaround encounter. In Psalm 149:1, 6-9, high praise is the one you are dancing like a mad man; you are dancing as if you are drunk, you are not drunk, you are drunk in the Lord. Church Gist. They said these men are they drunk? They said we are filled with the Holy Ghost. You don’t give God gentle praise; you give Him high praise. That was what Paul and Silas did in Acts 16:25-26; that was what Judah did in 2 Chronicles 20:22-24. It has to be high praises to get to your high places. Church Gist. In Psalm 47:5-7 you know the meaning, when you shout in praise you see God in action. It is not enough to praise God, we have to do it with understanding.
But, never praise God without expectation. I’m going to tell you 5 things you will expect in today’s praise. What to expect as we praise because if you are praising God without expectation, it is nonsense. Church Gist. Billy Graham said, ‘if you expect nothing, you get nothing.’ Have you ever gone to exam hall and you wrote and you said, ‘I didn’t expect to pass?’ The people with you in the hall will say, are you okay? Even if you are in the kind of country we are in where they play football without expecting to go for world cup – they play but they are not expecting to go for world cup. Church Gist. Is that how you want to live your life? Don’t live your life like that. Live your life with expectation.
You can imagine a woman going to labour room (they call it labour room but it is delivery room) and then, did you expect to deliver? Church Gist. Answer: No, but I just entered inside. Won’t you look at the woman and say, are you okay? Don’t come to Church and a meeting like this without expectation.
What to expect as we praise:
1) Change of levels: somebody was flying economy, life story, and they moved the person to business. The person said, so level can change like this! Church Gist. A man of God said, you will arrive at the same time but not with the same body (the man in economy and the man in first class). All these jet lags is economy; you will never see someone in first class say, I have jet lag. Jet lag is economy and if you push your seat back, the person will say, don’t disturb me. So you are compulsorily like this (demonstrates) for 8 hours, some places 12 hours. Church Gist. By the time you come down, both your waist and your legs will tell you my friend, you travelled. But when level change, you can do like this (demonstrates).
There are aircrafts you enter, after your seat there is a bed. Bed different from the seat and they dress the bed for you to sleep. So you just fly in the air and be sleeping. Church Gist. And there are some, they did the seats for our brothers in the Asian country. So they look at their size and do it. So if you are from America, you are very tall, you’re in trouble.
Even where you are now, there is still a better level because the path of the just shines brighter and brighter. Psalm 149:3-4. Salvation is Soteria, according to the Greek word. It encompasses everything redemption offers. Church Gist. So God says, when you praise me, I will restore redemptive beauty of anything you have ever lost. That’s whatever salvation represents, I will restore it back to you. And when that happens, level must change.
A great man of God said he went to see one of his sons, and the son was talking to him and said, Daddy you came? And opened his safe and was talking to him and was not counting. He just put his hand in the safe, put in the bag. The man of God when he saw the money, he said, it is good to be blessed. Church Gist. You know when you are poor, you do like this (touches thumb on tongue), after you count 10 you say, is it 9 or 10? You come back again. Even when machine counts it you are still doubting it. You take saliva like this…
- Your level will change today!
Those who have it do not have 2 heads.
- The things sinners held, I forcefully use my position as a prophet of God, I command it loose and released to you!
- Whatever satan stole is restored back to you in the name of Jesus.
So when you are praising God, don’t just dance. Listen, dance for change of levels.
2) To secure God’s attention, intervention, and manifestation: 2 Chronicles 13:13-16. All fierce battles of our lives we must shout in praise to God for Him to intervene now and take over our battle. Church Gist. You remember when Jehoshaphat, 2 Chronicles 20:17; Exodus 14:13. You are going to shout for God to intervene. Don’t do it with just excitement, do it with understanding. You say, ‘O God as I shout, let this battle you take it over.’
- Those who say you will not go forward, they will go down!
- Those who are pursuing us, they will be buried in the red sea!
3) For cleansing of our bodies: that is, sickness, disease, spells, enchantments, charms, etc; God has to cleanse them off. Matthew 21:9, 12-13. The moment they began to sing praises to Him, they dropped their clothes. Don’t mind what you are wearing today; just give God quality praise. Church Gist. They were not ready for anything; they said Jesus we praise you. As you praise God, He will be flogging out sickness, disease, all the charms, spells, enchantments. When we praise, God cleanses our bodies which is the temple of God of everything that defiles.
4) Vengeance in the camp of our enemies: Psalm 149:6-9. Among other things, we execute Vengeance and punishment upon the wicked through high praise.
One of our pastors sent me a message and said, ‘There is a place called Kalabari and Emohua zone. Emohua is in Ikwerre, Rivers state and Kalabari is a waterized area. Church Gist. They said that road has become a no-go area for (because of) kidnapping. They said everyday they want to kidnap somebody. Church Gist. Today, let all the kidnappers on that road hear me: if you don’t stop now, you, your parents, your children, your wife, I curse you in the name of Jesus.
- Using there as a point of contact, declare that the root of kidnapping there goes into extinction today, they should die in 7 days!
- Before this week is over, all your leaders are dead!
- If there be any law enforcement agent that has released you, that law enforcement agent also dies!
In 2 Chronicles 20:24, none of our enemies will escape.
- God will take vengeance against any evil man or woman after our lives!
I was trying to take 5 and the Holy Ghost gave me a point. That’s why it’s good to hear from Him; so it is going to be 6.
5) Open doors and breakthroughs: Acts 16:25-26. You know midnight connotes when you are at the crossroad. Church Gist. Some people are on the crossroad but today, things will change. Some of you have prayed, done midnight prayer, dry fasting, all manner prayer … If you watch among the Apostles, Paul was more of praise. Anywhere you hear praise, it is Paul. Philippians 4:4. There was no where Peter said rejoice. Paul was more of a praise man than Peter. Church Gist. Peter was more of a prayer man. Silas must be the one who was leading the prayer when he prayed with Paul. Paul said, calm down, let me go to my own strength.
I praise more than I pray; not that I don’t pray, I praise more. I follow like Paul. Some of you came from (demonstrates shaking of head). My wife prays more, me I praise more; so we combine the 2. Church Gist. She likes prayer heavily, me I like praise heavily. So when she pray pray pray, me I praise and we combine the 2. I pray; don’t think I don’t pray. Acts 16:25
Life story: Papa Adeboye and his founder were in a room. Physically, the hotel shook. They thought there was a tremor. Church Gist. They went and knocked the door, they saw only 2 people. They said, this hotel shook and the thing pointed to this room. What are you doing? They said, nothing.
- Today, all the chains, barriers will be broken.
Just imagine the door of breakthrough, the door of fruitfulness, blessings, if they start opening one by one it will take you time. Church Gist. But when you praise God, God will open all of them at once.
- Every door shut will be open as you praise now!
- In case you have been chained spiritually, today the chains shall be broken!
6) All round rest: 2 Chronicles 20:29-30. Listen people of God, because most times when we are saying praise, many, their praise don’t get results. So I’m going to tell you conditions. Church Gist. This is because it is not enough to praise, you must meet these conditions so that the praise can produce these 6 things we talked about.
HOW TO MAKE PRAISE EFFECTUAL/ACCEPTABLE
a) Praise with joy: please be joyful. Paul was in prison and said Philippians 4:4. Please just praise God and God will do what He will do. Church Gist. In Psalm 67:3-4, James 5:13. Don’t praise God and then you are not joyful; it will never produce. Make sure you are joyful.
b) Praise in faith: don’t praise and doubt. Believe that as you praise, whatever God says, that is how it will happen. Hebrews 11:6. In Joshua 6:1-5, 15-16, 20, if you see the walls of Jericho it was faith. Church Gist. How can the walls be there and God said, go round it? They didn’t say let the walls fall before we believe; they believed before they did it. So don’t say until I see – believe that it will happen. Faith is not seeing to believe but believing before seeing. Believe that the Word of God must come to pass because God is not a man that He should lie. If He says you will have rest, Believe it. Church Gist. Don’t say how can rest come? With all the problems in this country? Faith is that all the 6 points we have declared must come to pass.
c) Praise with expectation: Proverbs 24:13-14. Do you know? Paul and Silas in Acts 16:25 were expecting the prison doors to be open. Church Gist. They were not just singing; they had an expectation that these doors must be open. What is your own expectation? If you expect nothing, you get nothing.
d) Have a target: be specific. Paul and Silas praised God for their freedom; they were specific.
Our praise is evidence of our absolute reliance on God about the issues of concern in our lives and a spiritual weapon that changes our stories. Church Gist. We are praising Him that Lord, my trust is in you.
- I decree no more unrest!
- As you praise Him today, your testimonies will be born.
