It takes character!
Genesis 39:6.
This man has an impeccable character, he was reliable, trustworthy, dependable and well behaved. So Potiphar saw his character and say: “Take everything!” Even in prison, his character distinguished him.
Ability alone can’t take you where character can take you! Church Gist. Character should be considered first as one of the greatest assets in the school of favour and character is not a gift, it is a choice!
At the root of most and every misfortune in life, is character crisis! Daniel also was a man of character and he found favour in the presence of the eunuch. Joseph’s character caused him to work in favour in seemingly impossible places where he shouldn’t have expected to work. Do you want to walk in favour? Then, consciously develop a goodly personality and a lifestyle of enviable character! Where people give you money and they don’t bother, is you being favoured!
There is a young boy that cleans our house. This boy cleans the house, If you like, drop one billion, he won’t touch a dime. I don’t lock my safe and he doesn’t count money! It made him, there is nothing that I don’t give him. Church Gist. I told him :” Don’t pay school fees, forget about school fees, I will take care of it, that was after I discovered that he can’t train himself. Anything about your school, go I will take care of it till you graduate. Now, why? Character!
I was in a hotel in Covenant University Guest House. A boy was coming to clean my room and I dropped money intentionally, did as if I did not know, scattered the money everywhere, and I know the amount. So the boy came and cleaned everywhere. If he had carried, the way I scattered it, you won’t believe that I counted the money. I said: “Let me try this boy”, I scattered and scattered but he didn’t carry a dime, I said: “Ah”! They were paying him six thousand naira. If you don’t steal, you don’t steal! Hardship does not make people to steal! There is no day when hunger will make lions eat grass! If you don’t steal, you don’t steal. This boy did not steal the money! I said: “Ah! Six thousand naira and he did not steal”. Some other time that I dropped money, I said: “Boy, clean around my box”, and I left the room. I came back, counted the money and it was complete. I did this for 4 days and I said: No! This boy is different. I said to him: “My friend, do you want to live in Port-Harcourt”? He said: ” Yes sir”! I told him to inform his father that I want to take him out of this place to Port-Harcourt. He lived with me and became a graduate and he is a pastor with us today. Church Gist. Among our pastors, he is the one who understands prosperity more than anyone among all my pastors working with me except my wife. Nobody matches him when it comes to prosperity even though he is a junior man. I won’t call his name. But character made him. It was that character that made me to carry him from Lagos to live with me in Port-Harcourt. Are you getting me?
You don’t know what you are doing by being crooked, it stagnates favour. There are people that you stay around with, and because you think that you are smart, they send you message, you don’t bring change. That’s the end! Give them the change, let them say take! Don’t say my oga no go know. Funny enough, rich men are very funny! Most very wealthy men, their eyes are down! That’s why people say that they are very stingy but that’s not true, they are only meticulous with money! So when they send you message, they want to test you, because they want to see if they can keep you with big money and when you do not pass that test, then that is the end of the story. Church Gist. For someone like me, I will give you money and behave as if I forgot the change with you, I am not that careless! I will leave you, you say na forty thousand?
When you work with me, the first thing that I do is to lavish money on you to see whether you are prudent, because money is the first thing to test somebody and when you start wasting money I will know that you don’t pass the test. Some people will say papa no dey care, if you say fifty thousand, em go give you thirty thousand, I am not stupid! I want to see whether you are a person that I can trust because I don’t count money! If you go to my house, I don’t count money, I throw money on the floor and everywhere that I can find, so if you are a criminal, what will I do? Church Gist. Living with me and you are a thief, is a bad thing! If you are living anywhere and they keep locking the door and going home with the key, watch your Christianity! you are leaving, when they want to go, they say: “Lock and give me the key”. Don’t say my oga dey like do am like that, it is a lie, he doesn’t trust you. Don’t say this my boss doesn’t like me anywhere he goes, he is always locking the door.
