THE QUALITY OF YOUR RESPONSIVENESS TO CORRECTION FROM THE LORD IS THE BEAUTY OF DIVINE DIRECTION.
HE WHO THE LORD DOES NOT CORRECT IS A BASTARD.
PERFECTION IS IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT CONTINOUS CORRECTION AND CEASELESS REPROOF.
CORRECTION IS FOR OUR PROFITING, DISTINCTION, EXEMPTION AND GLORIFICATION.
WE MUST RESPOND WITH SPEED TO ALL CORRECTION FROM THE LORD.
ONCE YOU GET IT RIGHT FROM THE LORD, YOU BECOME AN IMPOSSIBLE CASE FOR THE devil AND his cohorts.
WHEN YOU RESIST CORRECTION, YOU CANNOT BIND THE devil. He WILL SAY TO YOU, ‘YOU ARE IN MY REALM, THE REALM OF DISOBEDIENCE. I AM TO DEAL WITH CHILDREN OF DISOBEDIENCE WHO DON’T FOLLOW THEIR MASTER’S TEACHING. AS LONG AS YOU DISOBEY YOUR FATHER, I AM YOUR father.’
THERE ARE SOME THINGS YOU MISSED IN THE PAST, THAT YOU LOOK BACK AND SAY, “WHAT WAS WRONG WITH ME? HOW COULD I HAVE DONE SUCH A THING?”
IT’S NOT YOU. YOU WERE MOVED TO DO IT. AS SOON AS YOU GET THE CORRECTION OR REPROOF, ADJUST AND ADVANCE FORWARD.
DO NOT LET YOUR PAST ERROR HOLD YOU TO RANSOM AND BECOME A SIEGE OVER YOUR DESTINY
THE PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENT TO GAIN ACCESS INTO DIVINE CORRECTION IS MEEKNESS.
HEAVEN IS TOO BUSY TO BE PURSUING AFTER THE DISOBEDIENT.
THE ‘MEEKER’ YOU ARE, THE HIGHER YOU FLY IN LIGHT.

IT WAS IN KADUNA I MET WITH THIS GREAT COMMISSION. AS THE CHURCH WAS TAKING OF IN 1983, I WAS THERE.
IN AUGUST OF 1984, THE LORD SAID TO ME: CAN YOU SEE NOW WHY I SENT YOU HERE? HOW WOULD YOUR LIFE HAVE BEEN IF YOU MISSED THIS GREAT COMMISSION? YOU DIDN’T WANT TO COME, BUT IN MY LOVE, I CORRECTED YOU.

Shall we put our hands together, and please be seated. I want to acknowledge God’s servant, my father in the Lord, (Bishop David Oyedepo) for the privilege to bring forth the word. Out of the abundance we have received through diversity of impartation, revelation and inspiration received through him, I would just bring this little and I believe the existing grace in the house is more than enough to fulfill this function. Thank you sir.
I will be bringing the word on RESPONDING TO CORRECTION FROM THE LORD. We have heard about Divine direction, we have heard about hearing the Voice of the Holy Spirit. Now this is a major area that we must have light in order to maintain a balance. The quality of your responsiveness to correction from the Lord is the beauty of Divine direction. Church Gist. 2 Timothy 3:16-17. So, by the word of God- there is the doctrinal part of it, there is light on family life, words of faith and protection, and instructions on the various aspects of life. How to do this, how to do that, but then we have this two major dimension. The dimension of Reproof, that is Rebuke. The word pointing out to you the thing that you have not done well. And the same word telling you how to do it, that’s Correction. Why Reproof, why Correction? It is for our ultimate perfection! If you see verse 17, it said, ‘That the man of God may be thoroughly furnished (perfect) unto all good works.’ So the reproof and correction is for our furnishing, that is thoroughly furnished, in all departments furnished, being made complete, up to date. Church Gist. And let me say this, forever and ever you will need to be corrected. Never you get to a point where you think you know it all, we are still work in progress in the hands of the Potter. There’s a way that seemeth right unto a person, the end thereof is death. Proverbs 16:25, Proverbs 14:21.
We are always confronted with this challenge of ‘the way that seemeth right’. We want to get it right, but what we got was ‘the way that seemeth right’. And the One who knows what is right, the Truth Himself knows what is right, what is perfect. So, when it seemeth right and you are jumping and jubilating about it, He says that’s not it, that’s not how to do it. Church Gist. This is how to do it, in order to correct us. Now what is God’s purpose for correction?
Hebrews 8:5-8 shows us why this correction therapy is very vital.
-I am sure you are not bastards, and you will prove it by responding to this message, in the name of Jesus!
All are partakers, no exemption! It is an all-inclusive therapy from the Lord. Reproof and correction, chastisement, verse 10 shows us the purpose. It is for our profit. For what you stand to gain, not what God will gain. Church Gist. That we might be partakers of His Holiness. This Holiness we are carrying about is not His own yet but He wants us to be perfect even as He is perfect. Perfection is impossible without continuous correction, ceaseless reproof.
Therefore we can say this in summary, it is for our profiting, for our distinction, for our exemption and for our glorification. All for us! Then, if it is all for us, we must take it as a serious business, responding with speed to the correction of the Lord. The message we heard on prompt response, this is where it is of utmost importance. If He asks you to do something, He calls you for a mission and you don’t respond, well, no problem. He has got somebody else. But if He corrects you, it is for you, not for somebody else. There is no alternative, it cannot be shifted to somebody else. You just have to take it and run with it!
By the word of God and by the Voice of the Holy Spirit, we come into what I call SELF AWARENESS. You may not know, but suddenly you heard from the Lord that you were wrong, that is Self Awareness.
Now from that Self Awareness, what does the Lord expect? SELF ADJUSTMENT! Now that it has been proven by the Lord that you are wrong, what do you do? Adjust! Correct! Take a remedial step! That’s what I call Self Adjustment. And do you know what comes after that? You will like that one. It is SELF ADVANCEMENT.
This principle is fixed. If you are a man that is responsive to correction and reproof, the sky will not be your limit. You will keep moving from Glory to Glory. Why correction? Its for our good! For our advancement! There is still where we are supposed to be that we haven’t gotten to. Church Gist. There is a wide gap between where we are and where we should be no matter the result!
God’s servant here, all the time, I am understanding small small. He will tell us that we are yet to start. When are we starting? There is no day that he will tell you, ‘We thank God, God has taken us somewhere.’ No. He says if you know what I saw you will know we still have a long way to go! Hes always putting you on the run and that has given us a sense of quest for more.
-More of light, more of correction, more of advancement. May this same grace come upon you, to quest for more of God and more of light, in the name of Jesus Christ!
Hear this: satan and the forces of hell want you to miss it. Church Gist. They are working night and day. They know that your correction, your perfection is in getting it right. They know that once you get it right from the Lord, you are an impossible case for the devil and his cohorts. So, hell wants you to miss it, so as to fumble, fall, get stranded and if you will not take correction; get grounded. Church Gist. That is his agenda for you.
The devil comes to steal, kill and destroy. He wants you to miss it. He wants you to miss some precious thing that belongs to you. He wants to kill the vision or kill you if you give him the chance. 1 Peter 5:8.
That is, your hidden correction is part of the resistance. Its not satan I bind you, and you go back to doing what God says you should not do. You will try to bind him, he will say you cant bind me because you are in my realm, the realm of disobedience. I’m to deal with children of disobedience who wont follow the teaching of their Master. You have no authority upon me, as long as you disobey your Father, I am your father.
The tele-guiding ministry of the devil is one of the most flourishing departments in hell. God said, ‘I will guide you continually.’ he (devil)says, no problem. Isaiah 58:8.
God knows that there’s someone looking for you to miss it, but I will guide you continually. And satan says, okay we will tele-guide you continually.
-Well, you have missed it severally, but with this greater light, you wont miss it again! Your missing it will be minimized or reduced to the barest minimum!
But there are some things you missed in the past, that you look back and say, “Whats wrong with me? How did I do this kind of foolishness?” It’s not you! You were moved to do it. But as soon as you get the correction, the reproof; adjust,readjust and then advance forward! Don’t let your past error hold you to ransom and become a siege over your destiny!
-I stand on the authority backing this Summit, that the one you have missed in the past be forgiven you! But don’t go the same way any longer. The mercy of God will bring your misery to a new beginning! In the name of Jesus!
When we look at Scriptures, we discover that love is the baseline or the defining motive for God’s chastisement. Proverbs 3:11,12. That love from the beginning that made Him to give His only Son is an eternal love. It influences every area of dealing with us. Church Gist. The correction of the Lord may be many. He may correct you today, correct you tomorrow and correct you next tomorrow. Don’t be weary of it.
Remember, the same God says I have loved you with an everlasting love. This same God came to me one day, He said, I have loved you with an everlasting love. An everlasting love. And every time I feel as if I’m alone, perhaps challenges here and there, He will come again and say, I have loved you with an everlasting love. That’s one of my very strong ties with the Lord. I know He loves me, its not one-day love, its not two-day love. So if that love is there, I have to be corrected continually. I will try to improve, but I’ve not gotten to where I am going.
Now why you must respond to the correction or chastisement of the Lord. You must not only respond, you must be smart about it. Don’t give the devil any chance. He corrects you now, he reproves you now, then correct and adjust now.
Reasons why you must respond to God’s correction:
1.DELAY MAY LEAD TO DESTRUCTION. God forbid. Proverbs 29:1. He that is being chastened, be smart about it.
2.TO ESCAPE TROUBLE AND ANGUISH THAT IS AHEAD OF YOU. That is what God has seen. Proverbs 28:14. That is what is called mischief, trouble and anguish. How many times? Always.
-You will not fall again! In the name of Jesus Christ!
So, heeding to correction is escaping trouble and anguish of life.
3.DELAY IN RESPONSE MAY LEAD TO DELAY IN DESTINY FULFILLMENT. Destiny delay is the devil’s delight. He likes it. If he cant stop it, at least, he wants it to drag until you are frustrated. The things you should have done in one year, you may still be found struggling with it in 20 years. Because you have not gotten the key. You have an IDEA, but you don’t have the IDEAL. And that’s why God is correcting you, to deliver you from the IDEA to the IDEAL. Divine ideal, but you wont hear!
- Every dragging destiny, I command you to jack back to function! Where you have been delayed, may the Lord give you good speed!
4.TO OVERCOME POVERTY, FRUSTRATION AND STAGNATION. If you check Deuteronomy 28: 1-14, you see that if you hearken to instructions, corrections and reproof, it said blessings shall come upon you. But from verse 15 to the end, the summary is curses, poverty, frustration, stagnation, sickness, disease because you miss it. Maybe a major sickness is on its way coming to land on you and may be on you until death, God wants you to escape and He gives an instruction. It might be to shift base. Maybe an attack is coming, shift base! You’re saying, ‘I’ve been here for the past 20 years, where do I want to go? To go and start again from scratch?’ And the Spirit of God will not strive with man. Once He talks to you, 1 2 3 times and you don’t hear, He will leave you. You will just be praying to yourself and answering yourself.
5.TO MAKE HEAVEN AT LAST. Hebrews 13:13-15. If you are not responsive to correction, at last, you may not make it to heaven. You are not the owner neither is it property of your family. You will get there on His terms, not your terms. So if he says, ‘Stop there’, ‘Come here’, ‘Follow me’, at the end of it, He wants you to make heaven. If you continue responsively and responsibly to correction. You wont need to pray for heaven, you will be too sure that you are working with the Lord. He said, Follow me and I will make you, I will take you there. Heaven is real, it’s the abode of obedient children of God.
-My prayer is that everyone here, you will make it in Jesus name!
As we bring the message to the end, what is the principal requirement for gaining access to His correction? It is meekness!
That’s why the ‘meeker’ you are, the higher you fly in Light! James 1:21. Let us receive with meekness…let’s leave argument and strife, let’s be meek. So you cant receive without meekness, but with meekness, easy access to whatever God wants to pass across. Psalms 129:9.
God spoke yesterday, He corrected you, you didn’t hear. The same thing, He corrected you last year, you didn’t hear. You think He will correct you again? Meekness. Heaven is too busy to be pursuing disobedient all the time. That’s not you again, in the name of Jesus Christ! 1 Kings 21:29. Just one thing brought a turnaround in the life of Ahab. Can you see what your meekness can do? It can make evil to be transferred from you to somebody else. Your escape the ditch, you escape the trap, in the name of Jesus. Matthew 5:5. The material world is for the meek, they have access to the spiritual world too. Heaven is opened over their head, just follow Him.
I was employed by ITF in ‘83 as a CC retired. I was to go to Kaduna, I said I’m not going to Kaduna, I want to stay in Jos. So, 3 days of Fasting and Prayer, I was wasting my time. The third day, the Lord came, He said, “I am the One who said you should work with this organization.” So, I was planning that instead of me to go to Kaduna, I would go to the South. The Lord said He asked me to work with this organization and now I accepted, the fact that they took me to Kaduna, does it now mean I will stop working with them? He said, so “Arise and go to Kaduna, I am the One sending you.” And for you to know the import of that correction, that is where I met with this great commission. As the church was taking of in December 1983, I was there. And in August 1984, after 8 deacons have been ordained, the Lord met me on the way and said, “This is the reason I brought you to Kaduna.” Infact, He used the word purpose. He told me, you didn’t want to come, you even bound me…is that not the purpose now? In my love I corrected you, so how would your life have been if you missed this great commission?
That is to tell us, we miss benefits when we are not responsive to what He says, but we wont miss it again!
Remember Moses the Meek, 3,000,000 congregation was committed to him. Remember Jesus the Meek, the whole world is after Him now. And He told us in Matthew 11:29, “I am meek and lowly in heart…” and God committed the whole world to Jesus, that at the mention of that name, every knee should bow! Not disobedient. Church Gist. Whether underneath the earth or on the surface of the earth, there’s no limit to which meekness will take you in the School of Divine correction and Divine Direction.
Your life will never be the same again!
Take note, this meekness we are talking about is spiritual. Its not just, ‘I want to be meek.’ it will be superficial. It is one of the fruits of the Spirit. Galatians 5:23.
So, we are going to stand up and say, Lord I have heard your word, I want a greater dimension of meekness to be able to always respond to your correction! Let me never miss You when You are correcting me!
