Jesus thank you again for the supply of your grace in this ongoing Prayer and Fasting season. Receive our thanks in the name of Jesus. Church Gist. Thank you for how far you have helped us and for answer to our prayers both as a people and as individuals. Receive our thanks in the name of Jesus.
Praise the Lord finally I am on the Covenant Highways of life.
- You will be cruising on that highway all through this year and for all the years of your life.
- You never be found on the street corners, by ways again!
Hebrews 12:12-13. We serve a straight forward God. His words are yea and Amen in him. “Make straight paths for your feet …” Don’t look for short cut. He always leads forward; never leads backward. Let’s be straight in our walk with him. Church Gist. Examine yourself once and again, “Am I still in the faith? Or am I faking it?” 2 Corinthians 13:5. Hebrews 12:12-13. Short cuts don’t work here. Isaiah 59:8. Let’s walk straight. Jesus came and went straight on his mission. John 18:37. Let’s be straight in our walk with God.
KINGDOM ADVANCEMENT PRAYER IS EVERY BELIEVER’S RESPONSIBILITY. It is not a calling; it is not a gift. It is not a vision; it is every believer’s covenant responsibility. For instance: eating is not a gift; it is a natural endowment. It’s not, ‘I have the gift of eating.’ You may be a glutton – that’s okay. Everybody eats to stay alive. Church Gist. I thank God for the gift of breathing. Yes, thank God for keeping you alive and breathing but breathing is every natural man’s right. If it is our responsibility, you can close your mouth and nose and go off but it is our endowment. In the same vein, prayer and fasting is our responsibility. “When you pray …” Matthew 6:6 and “when thou fastest …” Matthew 6:17-18. So it is a matter of ‘when’ not ‘if.’ It is ordained as our companion in the adventure of life. So all we need is to take responsibility and ask for his help to stand strong on the prayer altar. Ask for the help of the Holy Ghost to keep you and I strong. Church Gist. Prayer and Fasting is not a calling; is not a gift, is not a ministry. It is every believer’s responsibility. There could be those who are encouraging men to take their place on the place of prayer – that’s okay.
David was king of Israel; a renowned servant of God, he prayed 3 times a day. Psalm 89:20. “I found him in praise, prayer and fasting” Psalms 55:17. Church Gist. As busy as his responsibilities, he had a schedule for prayers. You know God called him, “a man after my own heart – a man with a heart for me.” Where your heart is there also will your treasure be.
Time is one of your most precious asset in life. So if your heart is with God, your time will be with God. There’s a great scientist by name, Michael Faraday. He was a Bible addict, a renowned preacher in his Church. A God-raised giant. So it is not about one’s business, it is about one’s heart. Church Gist. All the ones who occupy the same position that you are in, they are in their drinking joint now. That’s the final place for their work place. He’s the M. D of a major company but when he closes that company, he goes to that one corner where …(mimicking) “Can I have one more bottle please? 2 bottles? Serve these fellows 10 10 bottles,” – everyday! Church Gist. You know what they call it? Service. That’s their own service. Wherever a man’s heart is, there his treasures will be also. Matthew 6:21
I was in Canada years ago and then a friend of mine at the evening time, he had no meeting that day! So we were in the hotel area and then we saw the show glass stuff in the hotel! There was one ring there, it was two hundred and ten thousand Canadian dollars! So he asked me and said, ‘Do you like it? I said, ‘Never! God forbid bad things! That will build two Churches! Come on say, ‘Where your heart is! If you buy that for me with all my eyes, I won’t buy it! No! Church Gist. My heart is far from it! So will I be telling people, look at this ring I bought for ten thousand Canadian dollars? When they say, ‘Your ring or your life, you say just kill me! This ring? I bought it for ten thousand dollars! People just waste their lives on these material things!
So, it’s not about that you don’t have time, you don’t have the heart! You can’t have the heart for God and not have time for Him! You will say that Abraham had no schedule! God will just tell him, ‘Arise! And he will just arise! Ah! He owns a business empire, he had an army to himself! He is not the Head of State, he is the founder of the State! So he had responsibilities, so he got up early in the morning! What was his schedule for the day? No his heart is in what he heard! Church Gist. You can’t have the heart for God and not have the time for Him! All these, ‘You know our business is so grown’! Is it not God’s fault that it grew? You see! I have to do this… Who are you doing decoration for!
If you have the opportunity to die small and come back, do you know how much you don’t matter even to your family? The day you die, they will eat! “We are very sorry that he passed but what can we do? My God! You will be wondering! Me? Yes! You! They will open that box that you have locked all your life! Church Gist. They will say, Who has the key? Break it! You will almost jump down from Heaven! What’s going on here? They will open everything up!
Now, you know why people get so weary on the prayer altar? They don’t know what to pray for, Sir! We know not what to pray for as we ought to, but the Spirit helps our infirmities! Roman 8;26. He helps us to know what to engage with! Church Gist. So fervent, so hot, ever vibrating and ever going for God? What’s keeping them? Are they always in need? No!
What are we to pray?
Tonight let’s look at this and it’s very important as it will keep you going! Among the whole armour of God, let’s go down there in Ephesians 6:13-20, let’s check at what the Bible defines as the whole armour of God! You know preaching the Gospel is one of the whole armour of God! He empowers us through preaching the Gospel. We shall tread upon serpents and scorpions… Church Gist. So it’s part of the whole armour of God!
It’s part of our armoury! It’s not a Church agenda! It empowers us to tread upon serpents and scorpions! These are all the whole armour of God listed in Ephesians 6:18. Then, praying for all Saints and praying for their needs to be met! Identify them by name! In your Church, in your Unit, in your House fellowship! Identifying their needs and standing in the gap for them is one of the whole armor of God!
So it’s not a freelance thing! It’s a weapon for your warfare and your victory and also for my victory! That man said that was praying for people who are looking for a job. He said, the way I was looking for a job, ‘I did it for one week only’! God answered! I was praying Kingdom advancement prayer and was praying for those in my situation! Church Gist. He did it in one week only! It’s a weapon for our victory in battle!
A woman called barren is praying for the barren in her Cell, mentioning them name by name! In her Zonal fellowship and in her Church if they have one! In the Service Unit? And the ones who sit by her when they come to Church. You know some people have permanent seats in Church! When they come they just go straight and their place is waiting for them! Amen! Glory to God! Church Gist. And they prayed those ones into victory and secured their victory in the process!
Praying all prayers in the Spirit for all Saints is one of the whole armour of God that the Church has not recognised Ephesians 6:18. One of our friends in the Ministry asked me, ‘What is the secret of prosperity of your Church’? I said when I bless the people, I bless them with the whole of my intestine! So as I bless them, He blesses me back! Church Gist. The secret of every well meaning Minister is their heart for the people beginning from their altar of prayer engagement! The well-being of the people under them, which makes it well for them!
So those who just take advantage of the flocks under them, they just get poorer and poorer in the Spirit, flesh and in their resources! So we are told, ‘Bear ye one another’s burden… Galatians 6:2. You fulfill the Law and He manifests Himself to you! Galatians 6:7-9. So our genuine Spiritual commitment to the well being of others always makes it well with us! In Ephesians 6:6-7.
Spiritual commitment to the advancement of others will result in your own advancement. So praying for members will turn their challenges into testimonies thereby establishing them in the faith. Philippians 1:19. Things turn the right way for people through our prayer and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ. So pray knowing that what you are praying for will be answered and turned to their testimonies as you pray and you have it. The I, I, I life they don’t go far. The rich fool said I, I,I God said you are not worthy to live. Take his life. Living for others to live is what creates and secures a future. When God turns their issues into testimonies, they abide in His house forever. Psalm 23:6. Church Gist. In the same way, you witness Christ, all those cult people also witness their cultism. When they find you in a problem, they say well I just feel I should share this with you. They take advantage of your suffering to drag you by the nose into the dungeon of hell. Suddenly you find yourself removing your shirt, remove everything, remaining only pants. Carry this calabash on your head. You mustn’t say one word, if you cough the calabash will react. Initiated without anything to resist. Something is going to happen this year. Through your turnaround at least ten will be attracted to Christ. Get ready for it.
As Job prayed for His friend, God turned His captivity. Job 42:10. So there shall be amazing turnarounds. Don’t see it as helping the people. See yourself putting on the whole armour of God for your victory. See it as a warfare strategy for your victory. It will keep you going for life. That is what keeps the prayer altar alive, healthy and strong. Fervent, ever burning. Too many things to pray about. Remember our engagement for the well-being of others that God sees in secrets, He has vowed to reward it openly. You pray for them, He said I will make happen for them what you make happen for others. I will make it happen for you in multiplied form. So engage on the altar of prayer for the lives of the new converts of the church. Take delight in asking for the list, mention their names in prayer. That is the way to go. I found out that ambiguities don’t fly with God. Church Gist. We went back for years and found out every specific thing God said, He did. Every specific thing that we stood for, for each year. He did. Bartimaeus cried “have mercy” he said what is mercy, that is not prayer. What exactly do you want? I can give you 5 kobo as mercy. I can get you a house if you are homeless, what do you want my friend? Church Gist. He said open my eyes and Jesus said now receive your sight. Ambiguities don’t fly with God. Can I ask you to do something? Whatever names that come to your mind while you are in church that needs divine intervention. Particularly those who are believers in church. Stand in the gap for them as if you are praying for yourself. That is what has taken care of my prayer requests. As I engage in interceding for the well-being of others, He looks after my well-being. Let’s stop faking it, let’s walk straight. You might have prayed about 20 prayer points now we are shouting and everything is about you. Kingdom? We do that in church. This is my private time. Private problem, me only. Oh God in the whole of this Church, answer only me. Everyone’s story has changed.
Zechariah 8:20-23. The effects of prayers cannot be hidden. Get committed to pushing the kingdom so he can keep supplying all your needs. Get committed to meeting the needs of the Kingdom, He will have all your needs met. It is a warfare strategy in the kingdom. Isaiah 52:7. He needs your feet on the field, so no devil can lay something down for you and you cross it and be wounded. Church Gist. Wounded for where? He needs your strong feet to go for Him so He empowers you against all invisible forces without knowing it. The effects of prayer behind the process will be all around your life from henceforth.
Prayer; ask God for grace to stand strong in the place of prayer.
As we commit to praying for others who might have the same need as we have but praying for them will get us to have our needs met. Pray for new converts to he established, so you won’t get disconnected over time. Church Gist. Pray for them to be established so you can be further established in your walk with God. Pray for them not to be lost, so you never get lost in the process of time. Pray for them to keep burning for Jesus so your fire will never go out.
Prayer: Lord quicken me afresh from within to engage the prayer altar with a sense of mission.
Ephesians 6:19. Standing in the gap for your pastor is accessing all that he carries. For he that keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof. Your prayer for your leader is far more important than your seed. Proverbs 27:18. There are many people here today that this year you will tap into all that your leader carries, manifesting them supernaturally without mimicking him.
Please let these things being taught impact your approach on the prayer altar, otherwise, it will have no value. It is not about hearing, it is about doing. Church Gist. So be that man that does all that is taught and watch out for your change of story that will be coming your way. This thing works.
