HEAVENS CAN OPEN DURING THE DAY AND CAN ALSO OPEN AT NIGHT
WHEN GOD SPEAKS TO ANYTHING, THAT THING WILL BECOME A MIRACLE WORKER JUST LIKE THE RIVER JORDAN
GOD WILL SPEAK TO YOUR BLOOD AND YOUR BLOOD WILL CONTINUE TO PERFORM MIRACLES

Praise the Lord!
When we started this series, “FOR WHOM THE HEAVENS OPEN” at the beginning of the New Year, we said this is because one of the most significant things that happened to Elisha on the day he received the double portion of the spirit of Elijah was that the heavens opened unto him. Church Gist. We said he wasn’t the only one that the heavens had opened to either before or after and so we decided to look at those people for whom the heavens had opened in the past. We said that the series will probably take us all the way from Genesis to Revelation. So we started with the first fellow for whom the heavens opened and that was Noah. We moved on to Abraham and now we want to move on to Moses.
Exodus 3:1-5. The heavens opened unto a shepherd called Moses and he saw a bush burning with fire but the fire was not consumed. There’s no doubt about it that at least we know something about our God and that one of the things that the Bible says about our God is that he is a consuming fire. Church Gist. So it means the heavens opened, God the consuming fire came down, to visit a man called Moses. We want to see what lessons we can learn from Moses because without any doubt, the heavens opened to him for the consuming fire himself to descend.
1. The first thing we will want to take note of is that heavens can open unexpectedly. Moses was not expecting the fire to burn, or for God to pay him a visit. Church Gist. He was not expecting the consuming fire to be burning at the backside of the desert. Acts 2:1-4 made it known that the tongues of fire came suddenly. So we need to pay attention to that that heavens can open unexpectedly.
– I am expecting in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, (even though some people might not be expecting it) that the heavens will open unto us suddenly today.
2. Heavens can open to somebody anywhere.
– Here in the case of Moses, the heavens opened at the backside of a desert. He was at work. He was at the backside not just any place but even in a hidden corner of the desert and the heavens opened unto him there.
– Genesis 18:1-14. Abraham was at home, sitting in front of his tent when the heavens opened unto him and God paid him a visit. Church Gist. So, heavens can open to you while you’re at home.
– Acts 9:1-7. Saul was on the way to Damascus. He was traveling when the heavens opened unto him. So heavens can open to you while you’re on your journey back home.
– 1 Samuel 16:11-13. David was at work looking after the sheep of his father in the bush when the heavens opened unto him and a messenger came to call him. Of course He didn’t know that his life will never be the same again after that. So, heavens can open to you in your office while you’re busy doing your daily course.
– Acts 2:1-4. Heavens opened to the Apostles in the upper room during a prayer meeting. Heavens can open while the service is on.
– Before this service is over, heavens can open to somebody. I am praying that it will be the case!
– Heavens can open during the day like it happened to Moses but it can also open at night. Genesis 28:10-17. Heavens opened to Jacob at night. Church Gist. So whether in the morning or in the evening, whether on your way home or here while the service is on, even when you are on your bed, my prayer is that before this day is out, the heavens will open to you.
Then we discover something about the awesome power of God displayed when the heavens opened.
1. We found that when the heavens opened unto Moses, an ordinary piece of dust, small piece of the land suddenly became holy ground. Ordinary mud; because it came in contact with the God of heavens, suddenly became holy ground. Church Gist. There was no temple built there, it wasn’t the vestry of a Church, it wasn’t the office of the High Priest, it was an ordinary piece of mud but suddenly it became holy ground because the heavens opened on that ground. That suddenly brings to our remembrance: what can happen (I’m sure you know we are made from ordinary dust) if all of a sudden the heavens should open and we have contact with God. Genesis 2:7.
2. The Bible tells us how mighty the breath of God can be. Exodus 15:1-10. When he breathed on water, the water froze, creating a path for the children of God to pass through. How mighty will it be if God can just breath on us today? Church Gist. Mighty unexpected miracles can then happen. Ways will begin to open; we begin to move across paths that anybody had never crossed before. When God breaths on mud, mud became a living soul.
3. When God spits on ordinary mud, an ordinary mud will suddenly become a miracle performing anointed mud. John 9:1-7. A great man of God, Shambach by name, (some of you probably may have heard of him) he was mightily used of God to perform miracles. Church Gist. He told us the story of when they brought a blind man to him and as he was about to pray for the blind man God said, “spit on his eyes.” He said, “how can a man of God begin to spit on people?” But God repeated, “spit on his eyes.” In obedience to the Almighty God, he spat on the face of the man and suddenly his eyes opened. It depends on who is spitting on you. I am not asking you to make a doctrine on that and begin to go about spitting on people. But when the Almighty God spits on mud, a creative miracle can happen. Church Gist. I don’t know about you but if all that I need for God to solve all my problems is for the Almighty God to spit on me, I say, “Father just go ahead because I know even a spitting from you can change my life permanently.”
4. When God speaks to anything, that thing will become a miracle worker. For example: in 2 Kings 5:1-14, when the man of God said to Naaman to go and wash in the Jordan, the moment the word came out of the mouth of the man of God, power to heal went into River Jordan. Church Gist. River Jordan has not healed anybody before, wasn’t a healing river but the Word of God went ahead to turn that River to something that can remove the reproach on any mud that came in contact with it. Naaman argued and said, “there are better rivers where I came from. Can’t I go to those ones and wash and be clean?” but the Word has not spoken to all those rivers. The Word has spoken to Jordan.
– I’m praying today that God will speak to your blood and that your blood will continue to perform miracles
5. Now when God touches somebody, when he touches ordinary mud, incredible things can happen. Mark 1:40-45. When the Almighty God, the one who comes when heavens open, when he touches, he can restore life even to a dead man. Church Gist. Luke 7:11-15. He didn’t even have to touch the boy himself, he touched the coffin. There’s so much power in his touch that even the dead can rise as a result.
– I am praying today that even the chairs you are sitting on will receive a touch from God and that his anointing will flow through the chair to you and perform a mighty miracle.
I’m sure you remember the story of when I went to the United States and one of my sons that I had known for long time invited me to his house to come and eat. I said I will come because of our relationship but it’s a private lunch – no noise. He said, “no noise at all.” I got there and I found that there were (I think) 4 sisters waiting. Church Gist. I was wondering, “how much food am I going to eat that you need to bring 4 people together?” Anyway, I ate and I left. After I left, the 4 sisters sat in turns on the chair where I had sat. Now, it’s not me but the God I carry that sat with me on that particular chair. The 4 sisters were all barren. A year later when I was back in that place, 3 of them were already carrying their children and the fourth one was already 6 months pregnant.
– I am praying for you today that the heavens will open unto you and the Almighty God will touch the chair you are sitting upon.
6. Now when the Almighty God touches 5 loaves of bread and 2 fishes, in John 6:5-13, as he took these 5 loaves in his hands and gave thanks, the bread began to multiply so rapidly that 5,000 men not counting women and children were fed and there were 12 baskets left over. Church Gist. That tells you that a touch of the Almighty God can supply all the needs of human beings. We are talking about his contact with mud now. He supplied the needs of hungry muds (because we are made of muds) so much that there was 12 baskets left over.
– I am praying today that the Almighty God will touch your food at home and that from this moment onward, you will always have more than enough.
7. The impact of the Almighty God paying a visit to an ordinary mud: Jeremiah 18:1-4. Church Gist. An ordinary touch from the God of heavens can rearrange the destiny of a human being. Just a touch from him and a destiny that had been marred, a destiny that had been spoilt, a destiny that is no longer on course, can be rearranged so that something glorious will still come out of it. Only God knows how many of us are completely out of course from where the Almighty God intends us to be. Church Gist. Only God knows how many of us are no longer anywhere near where God plans for us to be. But just a touch from him! That touch that turned ordinary mud to holy ground can rearrange everything.
– I am praying that before this service is over, if there is anything that has been wrong with your destiny, may the Almighty God rearrange it.
I rejoice with those of you who are already children of the Most High God for whom the heavens will open today so that the Almighty God can breath on you or if he likes he can spit on you, or if he likes he can lay his mighty hands on you. Church Gist. I rejoice with you because I believe that today, something miraculous, creative, unexpected, will begin to happen in your life.
