Hallelujah! We have been looking at the ’21 HINDRANCES TO ANSWERS IN PRAYER AND FASTING’, I want one of the Pastors or any of the Music Ministers who have the comprehensive list to read it out. We have done about nine or ten of them. Church Gist. And don’t forget to get them as we have the book written and published by Wisdom Irabor Ministries International, ’21 Hindrances to answers in prayer and fasting’ by Irabor Wisdom. Don’t forget to get it after the Service.
‘Pastor Kanayo, do you have it there for those of us who are first timers, new members and those who attended first Service and didn’t get that of the second Service and those who came for second Service and didn’t get that of first Service? Church Gist. It is just a very short and fast one.
So, ‘OVERCOMING THE HINDRANCES TO ANSWERS IN PRAYER AND FASTING, PART THREE (3)’.
In Part one (1), we looked at what?
- Lack of desire
- The force of iniquity
- Ignorance
- Unforgiveness
- Wrong confession
And then, be very careful what you say in this period, ‘Nothing is working, it may not work for you again! - Wrong thoughts
Somebody sent me a Whatsapp video yesterday and the way that I responded, the person was even afraid, I said, ‘Never try this thing again and this kind of video should not be identified with you and don’t send it to me, and even with your status, this kind of thing should not be identified with you’! Church Gist. Don’t be an agent of evil news, everything evil starts from you, your phone and your mouth!
You know what I was addressing? I was addressing the sanctity of my mind. If it is in your mind, one day it will be in your life! Just keep thinking about it and one day you ‘go do am’, I don’t need it! Church Gist. Wrong thought! ‘This life wey I dey so, you think say I go born pikin’? Who told you? Na person born you, you too go born your own pikin! ‘They may not give me’! Why not start thinking that, ‘They will give me’!
- Wrong Association
Relationships are not by force oo, it’s by choice! I posted something last week on my Facebook page and I said, ‘Happiness is by the choice you make, not the circle you belong to’- The biggest club in Warri? All of them are trekking, they are owing house rent everywhere! You don’t need to join the biggest club, just be in your own club and be a landlady. Church Gist. But some of us are fighting to belong, hear me, I say it with all sincerity that I belong to no circle! I belong to God. If anybody knows that you can’t do without associating with them, they will punish you with their absence, they will avoid you and destroy you because they know that you have no life outside them. I have a very strong survival instinct.
Ninety percent of every bad thing that you are doing, we can trace it to somebody. Amnon had a friend! Amnon was lusting after his sister and his only friend that could have told him, ‘Are you normal’? Your sister? Go for deliverance! He never said it but he gave him the strategy to achieve his demonic agenda. Church Gist. He said, ‘Pretend that you are sick and tell your father that the only person that can give you food on your sick bed is your sister, Tamar and as soon as she brings it overpower her and sleep with her! If he was having a good friend, he would have cautioned and told him that he was about to commit incest. ‘Taste na, I know that you don’t drink just take one cup of alcohol, na em you take enter twelve bottles’! ‘You don’t have the grace for drinking alcohol, just sip it’! Then, from sip it, you sleep in it! A bad friend!
I change my friends, my friends don’t change me! As good and humble as Pastor Kelechi is (He is like a protégé to me), he is not in any way influencing me wrongly. Anytime that I want to fast or do something serious, I need Pastor Kelechi around me but this year, we have spoken only once and that was yesterday. If I have spoken to the one that is good once this year, for the bad ones, we might not talk this year. Church Gist. I have some people that called themselves my friends, we have not talked this year, not even a happy new year greeting. This is because, if I cannot influence you, I’ll disconnect from you.
If a positive influence cannot break into my itinerary, how much more a negative influence? I’m not the person that anybody can influence oo, when I got born again on September 16th, 1990, some of you were still smoking ‘igbo’ and some of you were just getting blended into evil acts. Subtract thirty three years from your age, who were you then? Church Gist. Some of you were still wearing superman pants dey run around town, dem dey flog you say, ‘Go and bath’. Na you go come influence me? Where was my yesterday?- My foundation and upbringing, e go die like that? God forbid!
So, all the prayer that you are praying in the wrong association can become a wrong alignment that will hinder your accomplishments. Church Gist. Change people and don’t allow them to change you. I was to preach somewhere and I saw the man with somebody on Facebook and the person that I saw him with, I don’t like him. I don already dey the city, people were gathered and I said, ‘I’m not coming again! He said, ‘Sir, we are waiting’. ‘I’m not coming! I choose my association, you don’t choose me! Continue to do follow-follow oo!
- Lack of Faith
These are things that must be in place for the answers to your prayer and fasting not to be out of place. Imagine if you bought your car for twenty million naira (N20,000,000), that car cannot move if the timing belt is cut. The timing belt may be very cheap and inconsequential but let that belt cut and you are stranded. Church Gist. All that I’m sharing with you is the different timing belts that can keep you from remaining in one spot.
‘Papa has preached forgiveness and I’ve forgiven him but as you are going on the road, you saw him and turned your face, you have not forgiven. And then you hear that they are talking something against him and because you don’t like him, you say, ‘That one? Very useless, em never change?’ Forgiveness means that you will not see evil in the person that you used to be angry with!
- Lack of fasting.
- Lack of action
A woman was giving an offering one day. I stood on this altar and I said, ‘Add a second offering and take the two offerings in your separate hands’. I gave her the instruction and said, God gave you one child and you gave Him one cow, He is giving you two children and that is two cows’. Church Gist. In my mind, it is a second and third child but in her own mind, she was pregnant with one child.
She was telling somebody, ‘I can’t tell how Papa picked this thing because I can’t tell whether it was what Papa said that changed it to twins because the day Papa was talking to me, the scan showed only one child but I just obeyed him and dropped the two separate seeds on the altar’! Church Gist. I never knew she was pregnant and then a few months after she left, she went and did a final scan before she delivered, it was two children that they saw.
She is coming with those twins in the second Service for baby dedication. Whether it was what I said that changed it to twins oo or it was really twins in the womb oo and then when I said it the twins that God gave her manifested’. Church Gist. But I want you to know that you are face to face with a man whose words don’t fall to the ground.
I said something last week and the man with me in the car said, ‘Papa, I did not hear you, I was really angry! I just came down from the car and for that thing that I said, I unsaid it three time. The thing was so strong in my Spirit that, ‘This thing you have just said, reverse it now or when em go happen na disaster’! Church Gist. And after the declarations, I had peace within me, if I had left it that way? It must happen. God told me, ‘I have brought you to a strange dimension of declaration! ‘Anything you say in 2023, you will see it happen immediately’.
-Everyone that has vowed to frustrate your life, the more they try to frustrate you, the more you progress and prosper!
In James 2:17-22, it is not enough to have faith or pray, you must take steps! 2 Corinthians 6:2, when is the accepted time for your Salvation, laughter, testimony and unusual harvest and the purchase of your car? Church Gist. Now! Don’t wait for everything to be ready before you move, move first and things will be ready.
- The issue of alternative Psalm 16:4. Alternative is simply anything outside God. ‘For this my prayer requests I know say if I go to that village in Anambra State where my friend went and she got married, I ‘go’ go there. You ‘go’ come back like that? Dem go just arrange one demonic husband give you, three beatings per week and twelve times per month. Forget those people bragging about what one person is doing for them in one shrine they are not telling you the price that they are paying. Church Gist. I like families that if a child is having a headache they will say that, it is the normal headache not the headache that I’m thinking that it is from somewhere that I entered.
Stay with God, God will do it! If they tell you the man dey give herb, they borrowed herb from the Book of Genesis. Bring the herb, I will bless it and give you back! Don’t collect the herb that they (herbalists) will invoke a bad spirit on them that will backfire you at last. Church Gist. I don’t forbid herbs. Bring it and I will bless and pour anointing oil on it, no bi the herb wey come from herbalist. There are two kinds of herbs, the Genesis herb and the herbalist herb (the type that they invoke spirits in).
You know, for some people who God has blessed, they think that you went somewhere, they don’t know that it was God who gave you what you have, and the God that gave you will give you every other thing!- That God will give you every other thing!
- Lack of love for the Kingdom Matthew 6:33, Matthew 6:10.
‘Thy Kingdom come is the Covenant prerequisite in presenting your request to God’. Let your prayers be Kingdom based and Kingdom driven. This paper (prayer request slip) you are looking at now, which item in that paper is Kingdom driven? Is any prayer there looking like a prayer for Bishop Irabor or Answers Assembly? Is there any prayer there that looks like somebody’s prayer? Church Gist. This spirit of ‘I’, ‘Me’ and ‘Myself’ is why you are stagnated. The Lord turned the captivity of Job when he played for his friends.
I did something this year and I said, ‘Forget yourself everyone and kneel down, take up somebody’s issue and pray for that person. And then a lady forgot herself and said, ‘This my friend, we have known him with a spirit of joblessness, break this yoke of joblessness’! And when we called for testimonies the following week she said, ‘This person was battling with the spirit of joblessness and when Papa ask us to pray for someone, I did and he is gainfully employed today!- The dream job that he desired’. Imagine if she didn’t pray for this person? Church Gist. You don’t know what you are missing for not enlisting yourself as an intercessor! And you know the problem with prayer? You can never pray for who you gossip about! And you can never gossip who you pray for. Most people’s ability to intercede died on the altar of gossipping!
- Ungratefulness Philippians 4:6.
The Prayers God answered last year, have you thanked Him for it? Church Gist. Some of you end your prayers with complaining, ‘Father, I know that you will not do it oo, I give you this last opportunity or I will backslide!’, and God will say, ‘Backslide my daughter, I dey manage you sef’! ‘That woman’s husband wey you dey sleep with for don kill you but I dey send my angels to protect you’! Ungrateful spirit!
‘Father, see all my mates, they are all doing well’! And God said, ‘You are a fool’! Your real mates died the day that they gave birth to them! The day that you were born, if you see the number of people that came to this world that their village people didn’t allow them to live beyond one day’! While others were crying, your own tears were tears of joy. Church Gist. That Primary and Secondary School that you went to, some of those who finished from that school are already dead.
You see my daughter who is a barrister, she is the first barrister that I have seen that is not a case. Most lawyers wey I see don trek die, em no see to death die, the problem of life reduced lawyers to agents! The lawyer now dey drag five percent and ten percent for one room commission rent, that kind lawyer dey oo. Church Gist. If this lawyer (My daughter) dey complain, is her complaint legitimate? It means that you can’t think because if you can think, you can thank God.
Thoughtfulness is the key to thankfulness! You can see na the same Law we read, na the same years we spend, na the same Law School we go and na the same Call to Bar and degree we get we get. How come we don’t have the same outcome? Grace! God! Church Gist. I have never seen that kind of Lawyer, they gave a Lawyer quit notice because say em no fit pay, dem drive am commot. If you can think, you can thank God!
-Father for all the prayers that you have answered in the past, I have come to say, ‘Thank You’!
Sometimes in life, you have to choose between a rich womanizer and a faithful poor man and the day the devil wan destroy your matter, your husband go poor, come still womanize on top. Church Gist. You go give am money like a good wife, em go still collect am go cheat! Your case is not as bad as you are presenting it. Ungratefulness is a barrier to answers in prayers. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord…Psalm 150:6.
Tell your neighbour, ‘Leave person husband alone’! Na only Irabor fit talk am oo for this Warri, when I talk am, I go enter office, ‘kpatakpata’ you no go give offering, I get my own, you get your own! When a Pastor is comfortable, he can confront sin, it is when your next meal is tied to what they will give you that you will be afraid. ‘Leave person husband alone’! Church Gist. ‘All these swear wey dem (women) dey swear for you, em never do? ‘Papa, my problem is that I don’t have feelings for men, the married man wey you dey sleep with, how you dey take feel am?’
You know your problem? You don’t have feelings for poverty, you have feelings for rich married men. Church Gist. When a young boy come wey no get money, ‘I don’t have feelings’! When a rich man wey get money come, you body go dey shake like who wan die- dey feel everything’! Oh boy! Forget it, repent oo! You see the way life dey do now? Na so em go be after rapture, you no go fit buy, you no go fit collect! You money dey, you no go see am. Even if you are not sure that Jesus is coming soon, are you not sure that you will die?
Two things must condition you, it is either Jesus come or you die! Church Gist. No matter how long you live, one day you go go! And where the matter dey take go bad, some people dey go market, dem suppose to close at 6:00 pm, somebody go come there around 12 noon, dem don close shop, that means you can even die earlier than you planned.
-Every negative confession that I have utter with my mouth, expire!
You know one thing about negative words, it comes faster than even the positive ones.
-Wrong thoughts disappear in your life now!
How many of you have one friend wey you no like? Em dey influence you negatively, you know say this person na problem to your life, you don accept that person as your destiny! You need deliverance! Dem tie una two together? Church Gist. Even conjoined twins dey separate! Wetin that person do you, that you can’t live your life without that person?
-Cut off by fire!
Go and throw away that thing they gave you to use! That small juju and charm. Somebody just put charcoal give you say make you dey take am dey rub your face and in the night you come look like a witch! I don’t have any aspect of my life that anybody cannot enter! Church Gist. Mama knows that I don’t forbid anything, I eat anything!
- Lack of offerings and vow payments Acts 10:1-10.
Anybody that is praying without operating on the Covenant of giving, you have nothing to accompany your prayers to Heaven. It must be your prayer and your alms that must access Heaven! So your prayer and your offering must appear together! Prayer plus offering equals miracles. Prayers without offering equal obstacles. Your prayers and your alms have come up as a memorial unto me, not your prayers and your tears, fasting, shouting and singing! Any great prayer warrior that is not a great giver will end up in great worries! Psalm 96:7-8. Our offerings are instruments of worship and warfare!
We roundup with Genesis 22:5 and 9, There is what they call the altar of encounter! Church Gist. After you have prayed and fasted, connect your vows to your offering for a speedy release of your answers!
The seven (7) benefits of worship offering:
- Divine healing Psalm 41:1-11. Offering can fight sickness on your behalf.
- Divine protection Psalm 20:1-3. Offering guarantees protection, your offering is your defence.
- Divine remembrance Genesis 18:1-10. Your offering gives God something to remember and fight on your behalf. My daughter said and I won’t forget it for the rest of my life, ‘We sowed seed for our sister that was having a health challenge, the challenge was cancerous, it was an attack of the highest order, she said, ‘We gave, sowed seed and raised altars to the point where I said, if she die, we no go prepare for burial? But let us use the money to decide her destiny by ensuring that she does not die! Altars were raised! I looked at them and said, Is it that money is scattered everywhere? If you don’t spend money to save your life, you can save it when your life cannot be saved! The same doctor checked it and the thing was gone forever and they returned for thanksgiving! You don’t always fight battles with prayer, you fight battles with battle seeds.
- Divine Favour Psalms 45:12.
- Divine ideas. When you give, He will give you ideas and favour.
- Divine connections Luke 6:38. If you lack helpers, I’ll know that you are not a giver. There is no person who gives and lack helpers.
-You will leave this Service with the benefit of a minimum of three new helpers this year!
-Help will come from another side!

Do you know why life is hard for some of us? Our parents were not givers. My daughter, whatever you are doing now, check your children’s life, it was softer than your own life at their age because you now understand Covenants! Most of the things that you enjoy is the sacrifice of your mother and the ones that your children will enjoy in years to come is what you are giving now! Posterity is superior to prosperity. Prosperity is for you and posterity is for the generation after you!
When you enter this Covenant of giving, your children’s life will be sweet and softer! That’s why your children entered abroad where you never entered at their age. You know why? Your giving is not a waste!
