IT IS THE TIME TO EITHER REWRITE OUR HISTORY OR RENEW OUR CAPTIVITY AS A PEOPLE
GO OUT TOMORROW AND VOTE. LET NOTHING DISCOURAGE YOU
THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE WRONG OR FALSE RESULT MUST BE TOTALLY AVOIDED SO AS NOT TO PLUNGE THE NATION INTO UNPRECEDENTED CRISES
YOU HAVE CRIED OF MARGINALIZATION AND THE OPPORTUNITY IS HERE FOR AN IGBO MAN TO BE PRESIDENT AND YOU ARE RESISTING IT
IF THE devil IS AGAINST YOU, ARE YOU ALSO AGAINST YOURSELF?
-Pastor Paul Enenche cautions ‘IPOB’ agitators in the South-East
Friends and fellow citizens of our beloved Nation Nigeria: the long-awaited time is here – the time to elect new leadership for our Nation. Church Gist. It is the time to either rewrite our history or renew our captivity as a people; it is the time to either experience new glories or be established in old horrors. Church Gist. It is the time to either step into the light or sit still in the night; it is the time to either enter a new covenant with joy or re-enter our old covenant with tears.
This is my counsel:
- Go out tomorrow and vote. And let’s go out massively – avoiding every trace of apathy, lethargy or indifference. Let nothing discourage you. Church Gist. No matter how long it takes you to reach the polling unit, get there. Every sacrifice us worth it for us to step into a new Nigeria.
- Conduct your affairs at the polling unit with every sense of dignity, decorum and decency. Church Gist. Avoid every action or tendency of violence. Avoid anything that would interrupt the realization of the objective of a new and liberated Nigeria.
- Wait, if possible, to ensure that your vote is counted, and that your vote counts. Nothing is possible until people are responsible.
- All party agents are encouraged to work in concert to ensure that the right thing is done. Church Gist. Passengers on a vehicle may have divergent views and opinions, but they don’t work against the safety of the trip, otherwise, accident or disaster on the journey becomes everyone’s lot. The welfare and wellbeing of the Nation must be placed ahead of personal affiliations and associations.
- Electoral and security officials at the polling units are encouraged to do their work as unto God and not unto a party. Do your work as one that will be accountable to God at the end of your life. Church Gist. Know that you will be toying with the destinies of over 200 million people if you act contrary to truth and justice, and God will hold you responsible. Refuse to be induced with money; refuse to be bought by money to influence results or manipulate machinery to produce a false result. Church Gist. A voice recording is in circulation detailing the plot of a party leadership to influence INEC officials using money so that they can rig the election or manipulate results in their favour. Reject that temptation because the whole Nation is aware already. That plot won’t work.
- The INEC chairman and his team are encouraged to do a thorough, timely and excellent collation of results accompanied by timely release of the same to the Nation. Church Gist. With the BVAS and other improved technologies in place, the electronic transmission of results should drastically cut down on waiting time before the announcement of final results. Unnecessary delays that could give rise to pressure from any quarter for the influencing of the final result must be avoided. Church Gist. The announcement of the wrong or false result must be totally avoided so as not to plunge the Nation into unprecedented crises – as the parties also have their situation rooms where all results are sent to for collation by their agents – that is, confirmed results from the polling units.
As you know, more than ever before, all Nigerians, especially the youth as well as the international community are on the lookout for the conduct of this election. Church Gist. Do not occasion any form of crises or bloodshed through untrue and dishonest announcement as you will be held accountable by God and man for the destruction of a nation.
- The final word goes to the youths and agitators in the South-east. What mentality is this – that the whole world is advertising the son of your soil to become the next president of Nigeria, and you are busy antagonizing and attempting to frustrate the voting process in your region? Church Gist. You have cried of marginalization in Nigeria, and the opportunity is being presented for that to be addressed through a Nigerian president from the South-East, an Igbo man, and you are resisting it? If the devil is against you, are you also against yourself? Who bewitched you? Are you paid to cause destruction and frustration for your people in the name of agitation? Church Gist. Those driving you don’t love your people, they don’t love your life. Don’t waste your life and your future for nothing. Calm down; down tools. Peace, be still in the Southeast! Peace, be still over Nigeria! Peace, be still! It is well, God bless Nigeria!
