First and foremost, I want to celebrate our Man of God, the Apostle of Wisdom. Some of us have been so blessed by his writings. I got to know him through his writings on Facebook and I’m like, ‘This is unique, what an ancient kind of Wisdom coming out from a man’! Church Gist. And since then, I had to look for him and finally, we got to meet at Shiloh where our relationship got transformed and we are here today. Thank you so much for the privilege Sir, I celebrate you.
I can’t go beyond this point without celebrating our First Lady in the House, Mama Favour! Once in a while, I just watch her on Facebook and I say, ‘Wow! This is beautiful, what a way to balance the Ministry’! Church Gist. Papa is Wisdom-focused and Mama is saying, ‘I’m praying for you to just keep moving so that the Wisdom will not become an Ahitophel kind of Wisdom’. Thank you, Mama and we are aware of what God is doing in your life and Ministry!
Glory to God! Now, I’m probably not coming to share what you have never heard before because you cannot have such a Man of God in your midst and I will say what you have never heard before! Church Gist. I just want to share my testimony and say one or two things and we close within the brevity of time that we have.
I tell people in Lagos that my biological father was about the most handsome man that I ever sighted my eyes on. He was so handsome that he wouldn’t pass without you turning to look at him whether you are a man or a woman but the only thing that I met in my family was a bicycle. Church Gist. You see? His handsomeness couldn’t change anything. I didn’t get to enjoy that particular bicycle but the one that I actually enjoyed was that of my uncle. That is to tell you that the bicycle was already out of fashion at the time that I was mature enough to ride a bicycle.
So the poverty was obvious, we could eat because of the village setting but there was no extra thing to show. Church Gist. An air conditioner was just out of it, you know there are things you don’t think of when you are so broke. But thank God that in 1997, I got born again at the age of 19 and I started seeing everything that I learned in the village almost turning upside down- Most of them were all the philosophies that didn’t help them to be rich, you have to address these things if you want to get rich- You must address what you believe in.
You know that you can actually live for 40 years only for you to find out that all the things you have learned were all wrong, imagine how miserable that could be. This is because you don’t even know where to start again and you know that learning new things at the age of 40 years is not very easy. Church Gist. Getting born again at the age of 19, I felt that I came late. If you are a parent please work on the kids on time, it also helps them in their financial area to understand how money works on time.
Please write this down, there is nothing mystical about wealth creation. It is a product of value creation, that means if you don’t bring in something to the marketplace, you are not going to get anything back. Whatever you are being paid is a result of the values you bring. Church Gist. You know? One of the mistakes a lot of employees make is that they think that they are being paid for time so they count one to thirty days of the month and they are expected to be paid a salary but the truth is that you get it wrong right there. Your employer is not actually paying you for thirty days, he is actually paying you for the value that you are bringing into the office.
If you work in any organization, maybe you have a product that you are selling and you are to resume the office and sell to the customers and leave after work. Do you think that if you go the extra mile by leaving the office and taking that product on your off days when you are supposed to be sleeping, marketing and bringing millions of naira to your boss that he is not going to pay you a percentage higher than your normal salary? Church Gist. So you can see that you are not actually paid for your time but for the value you are bringing to the marketplace.
So when you are conscious of value, you become more productive and for you to be productive, you have to be committed, and when you are committed, you become creative. So when there is nothing new coming from you to where you work or in the Ministry except the order that is being given to you, it means that you are not committed because commitment gives birth to creativity. Even as we are seated here, some of us will stay here for one, two or three days and we already know what needs to be changed or added because we are committed to the vision. It is the same way it should work in your marketplace.
Quickly, I would want us to learn these three types of education because most times, this is where we miss It:
1. Academic Education
We all went to school to learn arithmetic- one, two, three, four and so on Church Gist. I’m able to speak the English language because I am educated.
2. Professional Education
For instance, if you become a doctor, journalist or engineer, that means you specialize in a particular area of life.
3. Financial Education.
In this Service, financial education concerns us the most because most of the time, this is the one that we are least interested in because we live in Africa where we believe that for one to get rich, a force needs to come from Heaven and lay His hands upon us. Church Gist. That is why I mentioned earlier that there is nothing mystical about wealth creation; it is a product of value creation. The greatest evil you can do to yourself is to believe anything mystical when it comes to wealth creation.
A lot of young people have missed it and they have killed their girlfriends, wives and mothers because they believe in the mysticism that surrounds wealth but then the top ten wealthy people in the world have not killed anybody. Church Gist. And how come the ones that kill people to get wealth only have Venza Jeep? That means that something is just wrong somewhere. So if you want to be wealthy, financial education is very vital by deliberately learning how money works.
Now, there are three aims of money:
1. How to make money (Money making)
Quite a good number of us do well on that- We go to work and earn money, that is money making.
2. How to manage money
You need to know how to manage money because if you must move from making money to another level, you must learn how to manage the one in your hand. Most of the time, there is also a philosophy where people believe that they should use their money to take care of their immediate needs until the ‘big’ money comes then it can be used to carry out a project- This is another error because if you don’t manage that little money, you are not going to take it to another level of multiplying it. Church Gist. So you have to be deliberate when it comes to financial education because if you don’t get it, you will be praying for a long time because if it is for impartation, I believe that you have gotten enough as a believer.
Learning how money works is so vital, I would want you to be so conscious of money that people around you will begin to accuse you that you like money too much. And that any event that will cause you to learn about money you don’t want to miss it. This is how it works: Every one of us left our homes to this place this morning by various means of transportation. Even as you brush your teeth, you did that with another person’s product and that means that you have started spending money by buying toothpaste and toothbrush.
And if you are hygienic enough and follow the instructions of the dentists, you should be able to change your toothbrush in three months but some of us don’t even remember to change it until it is badly wounded. Church Gist. Yeah! Don’t feel bad, I was there too because I know what it means to use salt to brush the teeth. I know what it means to push the toothpaste to the very end of the tip and to also butcher it (Laughing). Now we no longer count the number of toothpaste we have again, you find one in every toilet. It’s all a phase! Now, what am I saying? I have to deliberately learn how money works because I didn’t meet my parents rich, they were just okay with what they had.
3. How to multiply money
This is actually where to become rich, money will begin to work for you while you are seated right in your comfort zone. It is a place where you begin to send money on an errand. If you have not gotten to that place you need to do something. This is where your income becomes passive. And if you have not come to the point where you will begin to make money on a passive level that means you have failed in how to manage your finances. Church Gist. Once you learn how to manage your finances- Things to cut off and improve on, then you cannot move into multiplying your money. And of course, when it comes to multiplying your money, you have to master having multiple streams of income.
Interestingly for the first man that God created, there were four rivers that ministered to him and if you check those rivers, they were filled with minerals that could bless the whole world. If God was conscious of just one man by giving him four streams of income. Church Gist. So it simply means to you and me that for any one of you to attain financial rest, we need to have a minimum of four streams of income. Listen, the biggest mistake we made is that the White man or our Colonial Masters have been able to tame and give us a salary kind of job with the name, ‘Civil servants!
This last Saturday, we had our International Conference in Lagos and I told them that the real meaning of a Civil Servant is ‘Civilized slave’! As a civilized slave, you are not meant to protest but to wear a tie and coordinate yourself implying, ‘Don’t get angry so much because thirty days is coming’! Before the White men came, our forefathers were hard working entrepreneurs but what they finally did was they made them stop going to the farm and say, ‘Work for me and I will pay you a certain amount of money’! Church Gist. As they received this money once, they thought that it was wonderful and said, ‘Why should I even be struggling with myself’! The palm wine tapper was also called upon and made a domestic cook. They civilized it, made it look ‘tushed’ (admirable) and that was how almost all our grandfathers lost their entrepreneurship spirit God placed in them.
After all, before they came, our forefathers were making starch by themselves. It was not the White people that taught us how to build our homes, they met us living in thatched houses, well designed and built to shield them from rain and sun but they brought us into this civilized slave thing and we thought that it is the best way. Is it not so funny that you went to school and after graduation, you carry your certificate looking for a job? It’s an error. When it comes to your wealth creation that shouldn’t be the pattern. You know? While you were in school, what you actually knew was how to apply for a job and that actually went into your head. That’s why I started with changing your philosophy about money and believing that this money can be made and in abundance.
Two ways to multiply our money:
1. Build a system
If you have not registered your business, please go and register one with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), It doesn’t cost so much. Church Gist. Have a registered company name. It’s tough building a business but at the end of the day, it is worth it. That’s only your fast lane to becoming a millionaire.
2. Investing
If you don’t have the stamina to build a business, you can invest in one. Please write this down, I said this while in a meeting in Lagos and I posted it on Facebook: The worst investment is better than the smartest spending. I know that someone will say, ‘I invested a certain amount of money in Shell and it was lost and so I did not want to hear anything about investment’! Church Gist. Listen! The Bible said that except a seed dies first it will not grow. So if you don’t sow a seed as an investment in a business or an existing business money is not going to come.
Now, I learned some basic things in 2016, that was the first time that I saw one million naira in my life and from that day it has never stopped. Please write down these basic things: I heard a man named Jim Rohn, he said, ‘Profit is better than wages’! It was so interesting for me to hear that. You see? Church Gist. It looks so normal but I was hearing it because I’ve never thought of it. I went to school and nobody taught me that. While I was meditating on that he dropped another bomb, he said, ‘This is the reason why profit is better than wages’:
1. Wages make you earn a living. So many of you who are on salary know what it means when the twenty to the twenty-fifth day of the month is approaching, you are already looking for another salary.
2. Profit makes you a fortune. When I got this, I said ‘Okay! If this is the case, I better learn how to make a profit’. Then, another Professor of Finance taught me that, ‘Cash flow is more important than profit’, that was where I got it. Church Gist. So if you have not moved from profit which most of the time is called, ‘Capital gains’ that means you bought something for one hundred dollars and you sell for one hundred and fifty dollars, the fifty dollars is your capital gains (Profit). Multiplying money and bringing it to a passive income will bring you to a place of fortune by developing cash flow which means that you have different investments that are working on your behalf and while you sleep, the money is just coming.
So if you don’t have the stamina to build a business then you must aggressively look for a system to invest in. That is exactly what I did in 2016 when I started looking for systems to invest in and that was when I saw my first one million naira, at a time I could make one million naira in a week and everything changed. I entered the first flight in my life in 2017 and I deliberately broke that jinx because nobody in my family ever used the airplane. You know there are some things you don’t just consider, you just feel like it’s a waste of money. You know that’s how poor people think. Church Gist. That year, I got a South Africa visa and I was granted, so I started with an International flight. Of course, I have not stopped flying except I don’t want to fly and I have also graduated from chicken and chips reception in Economy class to reception of champagne in the First class aircraft (Laughing).
You see? It’s a different world entirely that when you taste it, you don’t want to get any less of it, you want to keep going higher and higher. Now, the only way to live that life is to understand cash flow by building a system or leveraging a system. Church Gist. So don’t kill yourself and say that you want to build your own system, you have been doing that in the last 40 years and it has not worked. Don’t you think the word, repent which means, ‘Change your thinking’ should apply to you?
Begin to work out plans on how you can walk into your financial rest. I have said humorously in my meetings that a man who complains that his wife is too materialistic is broke, you should be thinking of what you will do to decorate her. Who doesn’t like money? Stop accusing them! Church Gist. Let’s be very sincere! Who doesn’t want to look good? I came this morning in my own Range rover with security officers to myself- It has never happened in my lineage, ‘Guide who? It has never happened in my lineage! ‘Nobody will kill me’! You know that you will have a kind of faith when you are broke.
You know what I’m saying? When you are wealthy you don’t want to die or take chances, especially the ones you can handle. I also relocated from my house in Lagos where I was living to a new dignifying place because I have outgrown the previous place. Church Gist. A place that before you get to the gate, you must put a call across to be granted access otherwise you will go back. So what are we basically saying? Be very brutal about your financial destiny or you will be broke for a very long time. Don’t commonize financial knowledge, learn it! It’s learnable, it’s not an inheritance!
Now, if I want to add some spiritual principles to it about giving into the Kingdom, many years ago even in that state of being broke I was living in one room, I used to have an envelope that is for my tithe. What I do is that if I get to make a hundred naira, I remove ten naira and put it on that envelope in the house. I didn’t want to owe God and then by Sunday, the money will make sense, I might see a hundred naira inside the envelope and I will give it to God as my tithe. Church Gist. Because I was broke didn’t mean that I should fail in my spiritual responsibility including Faith confessions. I was brutal. And at a time, my father will laugh at me because of the way I was talking about this money issue.
I learned something from Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, he said, ‘Keep saying it, don’t stop talking about it’! And I said that I have seen a course that I must follow, I have set my eyes on the goal and I’m not going to shift away from it and it didn’t stay long before I got my breakthrough. The first car that I ever drove while I was the Zonal Minister then in Winners Chapel was given to me as a seed. When I put my hand on that steering wheel while learning how to drive in 2010, I said to myself, ‘Finally, the yoke is broken’! Church Gist. Because it has not happened before in my family. I felt like shedding tears on that day. I didn’t learn how to drive for more than two days because I was so excited to learn it. It was a class of two weeks, and in two days I learned how to drive and have not stopped driving!
-This season, you will not stop driving in the Name of Jesus!
-Your new season will be better than the testimonies of your past in the Name of Jesus!
-God will raise you from this point to another level in the Name of Jesus!
-Everyone that sees you will know that by the Name of the Lord you are blessed!
When it comes to my academy- Massive Bank Account, you will find it on Facebook. When I started teaching on Facebook, I remember someone trying to talk to me sarcastically and he said, ‘Are you a millionaire now? Church Gist. I was already touching millions of naira then from 2016. I wish that person is still on my Facebook page to see if I am a millionaire or not. Today, I’m not just a millionaire but a multi-millionaire with all humility, I have left the realms of being just a millionaire to the glory of Jesus Christ!
-You are next to testify!
Heart issues must also be addressed. Many years ago, I was in a youth meeting with my friend, I saw that there was no car parked outside the hall and I just turned to my friend and said, ‘Why is there no single car parked outside when we already have a good number of youths inside the hall? This is not right’! Three months later, I got my car seed. God sees your heart! Maybe your story is just like mine but it can change, it is evolving and can change on a daily basis!
If you change that philosophy of yours, you will not remain at the same level. There is another thing that I believe so that you are not too satanic-focused, if truly that satan has the power to kill you, you will not live the next twenty-four hours! All this, ‘My village people did this and that’! No, you have not done your homework, check your own na- Check your approach towards money, the things you are buying and how you are handling the money in your own hands. Church Gist. One piece of advice you can receive when it comes to money matters is, ‘To live below your means’! As beautiful as that statement can be, I’m telling you that it can make you a civilized slave for a long time. The statement that you should be running to hear is how to multiply your own money. The multiplication might look small but know that every money that comes to your hand is a seed.
Lastly, before we take our offering, I also heard many years ago that when the money (seed) in your hand is too small, don’t eat it, sow it! Whether you are sowing in the Kingdom or in an existing business to multiply your income but whatever way it is, make sure that you are finding a place to plant that money. Church Gist. Because until a seed is sown, it remains where it is, so be conscious of that! If you want to even be very smart, before money comes into your hands know what to do with it because that is the difference between the wealthy and the poor. The poor spend money and invest what is left but the rich invest money and spend what is left.
Even if you give me a hundred million naira now, there are projects waiting to be invested. I was ministering in a Church like this and the Pastor asked, how much can we save? So I brought him to the Bible and said that Joseph while in Egypt saved twenty percent to provide food during the famine. Church Gist. That twenty percent saved the nation of Egypt for seven years and they were also exporting their food, so imagine when you save twenty-five percent of your income right now, in the next ten years, where are you going to be? For those of you that are civil servants now, please don’t resign because you need that money for investment. So leave this place with a change of mindset that this money must be made legitimately, that’s what I told myself.
I said to myself that there is no drug addict, yahoo boy or anybody making illegal money that will be greater than me except if darkness has become stronger than Light! Church Gist. And we are beginning to see the showers and by God’s grace, we are beginning to see the downpour of it. Please let’s wake up and learn how to sow either in the Kingdom or in a business. Don’t eat your seed!
