– Bishop David Oyedepo on “A CHOSEN GENERATION” || Easter Youth Alive Conference – EYAC 2023 || Youth Chapel, Canaanland, Ota.

Hallelujah! Thank you Jesus.

– give the Lord another big hand of praise. Amen.

God said concerning Abraham, “For I know him, he will command his children to walk in his ways” and you find the effect, the ripple effect all through generations. “He will command”, not “he will advise”. Church Gist. If you walk in line with the things you’re hearing in this conference, the same blessing upon this House will keep trailing your life all through. The blessing of God is still trailing over Israel till now and trailing us who are spiritual seeds of Abraham, who care to walk in the steps of Abraham, who care to walk in the old ancient steps of Abraham. Church Gist. They are still producing results today.

“If you’re Abraham’s seeds, then, do the works of Abraham”. “I called him alone”, so, be personal about it. Isaiah 51:2-3. So, hold those things fast and let those teachings you have been receiving become your new lifestyle. Church Gist. It’s the way up. No one can mentor himself into greatness. You can’t coach yourself to becoming a star in sports. It’s better-than players that played well that help to teach others how to play. Be set free from this new generational syndrome. There can’t be a new generation that is a disconnect from the old. Every new tree is from the seed of the told. Church Gist. No tree can be a seed of itself, it’s the seed from the old that gives birth to the new. Jeremiah 6:16. Hagin picked me up and taught me well. Copeland picked me up and taught me well.

You can’t write your exam and mark it. You can’t promote yourself in any system. Wake up! Church Gist. The things we are dealing with are highly prophetic in all the sessions. They are God’s agenda for the endtime that no circumstance can change but each one will determine whether they have a place in it or not. A great coach never makes a star, it’s the commitment, the discipline, the dedication of the player that determines who emerges a star. Church Gist. So, be disposed to the things you’re being taught and watch how God will keep changing your levels from one realm of glory to another.

– that shall be your portion!

– Jesus, tonight again, visit everyone of us in a new way. In Jesus’ name.

– give the Lord a big hand of praise.

Among the Prophetic agenda of the endtime is the rise of men and women of exploit. Church Gist. They are not self-raised men but God-raised men and women, young and old. The last days are the days of generational exploits, men that set generational feats. Joel 2:1-3. They’re generational record breakers. They set records that will take generations to break. It’s not one man, it’s not two men, “for the Lord utter His voice before His army”, so, it’s an army of people. Joel 2:11. Church Gist. So, it’s an agenda being executed by God. It’s not somebody trying to celebrate his capacity and skill. The terms of arriving there are stated in Joel 2:3-11. So, there are young people here who will fall in this class – setting generational records in their callings and elections, not in their ambitions or passion. Joel 2:7-8.  Church Gist. They will be highly visionary individuals who are out there in the centre of the will of God, the plan and purpose of God for their lives.

Please note; exploit is not the ambition of the Redeemed, it’s our heritage. Matthew 11:11. Church Gist. That means, we have this redemptive potential in us that is to make us demonstrate and manifest greater exploits than all those old testament saints. Galatians 3:29. What that means is this, every child of God is redeemed to command global exploits. He’s a global citizen by redemption. Genesis 12:3. Church Gist. I’m a seed of Abraham, so, I have that covenant heritage of global relevance. I want to stretch your holy mind to the things in stock for you. That you don’t see does not mean it does not exist, it only means you’re yet to see it but “as far as your eyes can see, unto you will I give it” – Genesis 13:15.

When I saw my heritage of global relevance and impact, I said, I was 30 years, I would consider it a demotion if I were invited to be president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Church Gist. Great Nation, no doubt, but that’s not where I belong.

You are here today, I can’t tell how many nations are connected but they will check that out when we are through. Church Gist. We minister here and then you have 177 nations hooked on. When I saw.

– may you see! May you see well that will take you beyond all doubts.

You can start listing out whatever things you know, I say, look, redemption has put me above where they stopped, that they without us might not be made perfect. Church Gist. So, I carry more within me than they have access to, so, I must not disappoint destiny.

– no one among you will disappoint destiny in the name of Jesus Christ!

Don’t say, “me, where I am?” Yes, from where you are. Everything global started local. There’s nothing big that did not start small. There’s nothing great that did not start little. Church Gist. There’s nothing global today that didn’t start local yesterday. I was in the Chapel of nativity, the place Jesus went to read “the Spirit of the Lord is upon me”, it’s a small place, and for generations after generations, the entire world will continue to be impacted from that local building, that small place. Generational pace was set, from that small place. He was born a babe, then became a child and then became an adolescent, then became a Son and then became a Son with authority. Church Gist. Don’t let where you are confuse you, that’s a way to start. Nobody is born 4 metres tall; nobody is born 10kg. No, that’s where to start. He told Abraham, “from the place where you are, just look into where I’m taking you and begin from where you are”.

– you will get there!

So, it’s not your ambition, it’s your heritage.

– may you never sell your birthright for a morsel of bread, in the name of Jesus.

– say with me, “we are in the days of exploit”.

Exploit is the heritage of those who know their God. Daniel 11:32. So, our heritage of exploits operates on the platform of the covenant. There are things you must do to get enlisted as a man and a woman of exploit. Church Gist. There are things you must come to terms with. If you despise those terms, you’re not a candidate. It’s not about where you are, it’s about who you are in the covenant. Church Gist. Those who despise the terms of the covenant never get enlisted as men and women of exploit.

The last days are days of explosive revelations. Isaiah 11:9. When you move in from vision, the next thing on this term is revelation, that has power to make a little one become a thousand and a small one, a strong nation. Church Gist. So, in our days, before Jesus returns, men and women like nations will start rising by the hand of God, not the capacity of men and strength of men and what he knows, what he doesn’t know, by the Hand of God. We know revelation is a springboard for exploits in the Kingdom. Psalm 45:1-3. Church Gist. We ride prosperously and in majesty by revelation. The deep things of God are the highways of life. Psalm 45:3-7.  We ride prosperously and in majesty because of truth. Isaiah 60:1-3,8,15,22.

All the springs of the endtime in this endtime shall be domiciled in Church. Church Gist. Psalm 87:1-7. When God is counting men and women of global impact, they shall all be domiciled in Zion and you’re one of them.

– can I hear your loudest Amen?

Obadiah 1:21. The Redeemed of the Lord shall be in command before Jesus comes. Again, exploit is not our ambition, it’s our heritage. John 20:21b. Church Gist. Jesus is still speaking here today and will be here tomorrow and He will come and rapture us home at the end.

Please, listen to these two prophetic pointers to the rise of men and women of exploits in this commission. It will help you. Now, 21st of December, 1995, the Lord said to me, “raise me this people that I have committed into your hands?” How? “Put brighter light into them, impart greater life into them, release them into their destinies, provoke their potentials. Church Gist. School them into exploits”. You can’t walk in there, He has to train you up to get there. “Enlarge their capacity for excellence. Position them effectively in the covenant, for I have determined to raise unto myself revolutionaries, who shall once again turn the world upside down as in the Acts of the Apostles”.  Church Gist. December 21, 1995. Ours is a highly Prophetic setting, that’s God speaking.

Now, we have the Ark Project going, it’s all in-house. Contractor, in-house; architect, in-house; the team of consultants, in-house. What? God never lies.

– may you not miss your place in this!

15th July, 1996, “I have made Lagos your first headquarters from where you will shake your world. Build with me a people to be envied”. Church Gist. You’re not to be pitied, you’re redeemed to be envied, “a people of attraction” – people will look for you, “a people of honour, and by them, I will stun the world”. “Build with me a people of depth, high taste for the Word. A revolutionary army by depth of revelations and I will take this world by storms. Church Gist. I have given you the people, now build them with me. Give them purpose, impart vision to them, school them again into exploits, leading them to their destiny. Walk with me my son, as I raise a new generation of saints by your hand”. You’re not here by chance, you’re ordained to be listed among the ones raised, and you shall be raised.

They took Joseph into a pit, “let us now see how his dream will come to pass”. They got him out of there by the hand of God and he became a slave. Church Gist. They have done his burial service at home because they have said, “a wild beast killed him, here’s his cloth and the blood”. He was dead but God’s agenda didn’t die. No matter where you may be now, look northwards, southwards and eastwards from the Word. Church Gist. Look through Genesis to Malachi. Look through Matthew to Revelation. Genesis 13:15. That’s what we are doing.

Abram was not relevant to the family, there was no argument about his departure. “Otoge, let him go. We are tired of seeing him here”, and watch what God made out of him.

– something is coming out of your life.

Now, what is exploit? The dictionary defines it as striking or notable deeds; spirited or heroic acts; an act or deed, especially a brilliant or heroic one; bold and daring feat. Church Gist. Therefore, exploit implies setting the pace and blazing the trail in your own calling. Extraordinary accomplishments, outstanding feats, breaking new grounds; out of this world order of impacts; generating global relevance in one’s pursuit. It’s about bringing to the earth things that have not seen nor ears heard – 1 Corinthians 2:9. Church Gist. It’s not making a living, it’s about making others live; it’s about imparting on the lives of others. As mentioned, it’s by the light of the Word that we command exploits.

John 14:12. So, we have an unlimited destiny in Christ with potentials to go beyond what He did. Church Gist. So, it’s a discovery of ones picture from the mirror of the Word that is key to our lives in glorious destiny. James 1:25. “This is my picture. This is what to do to realize it”. We are ordained for next levels of accomplishment only by applied revelation. Deuteronomy 28:1. Church Gist. He will start from your seat corner, then to your seat, then to your neighborhood and then to your community and then to your town or village and then to your state, region or province and then to the nation. Little by little via applied revelation. Proverbs 22:29. Church Gist. So, when you find yourself tomorrow, it’s not by waiting for it, it’s by working at it, by doing whatever He tells you to do, and then, your level keeps changing and changing. Thank you Jesus.

When I had the privilege to be a teacher, I was a teacher, a dedicated, consecrated, addicted teacher. I was using lantern to teach children at no cost. I will say, “your parents sent you here not to come and try to pass, you must pass and pass legitimately”. Church Gist. The vice principal of the school where I had the privilege of teaching for a brief time, he told the children, “there’s a young man in our school, he teaches as if he owns the school”. Whatever your hands findeth to do, do it with all your might, my friend. All these lazy thing, making empty confessions won’t take you anywhere. Get busy, get productive. Every stage of your life is a learning curve. You pass where you are, you’re next is in line. Church Gist. Now, today, see schools everywhere because “he taught as if he owns the school”. Luke 16:11. You’re not entitled to next level until you’re judged faithful at where you are – faithful and fruitful at where you are. Church Gist. By privilege, I served on very many Christian platforms before Jesus called me to ministry. I never attempted to tamper with the platform where I was coming from, never. Never asked one person, “come with me, God has just called me to ministry”. Church Gist. No. There are things to do to be eligible for exploits. It’s not for Jack and Harry, there’s no game about it, no gimmicks.

Be reminded again that as a seed of Abraham, you’re ordained for exploits, it’s your birthright in redemption. Church Gist. That you don’t have it does not mean that it’s not true, it means you’re disaligned, you’re not aligning with the terms.

Now, how do we engage with the Word for exploits?

1. Make a spiritual project of any given task. I heard the story of a top lawyer, when you take a case to him, he’d say, “let me pray about it” before he takes it. From what I heard, he’s never lost a case. Make a spiritual project of any given task. That’s what will differentiate from the world around you. Church Gist. You have a Word from the Lord and He’s ever faithful to confirm His Word. Nehemiah heard of the challenge of those left out of captivity in Jerusalem, he fasted and prayed for 3 weeks. Passion was burning. The king said, “why are you sad?” “Why should I not be sad? Do your worst” “make you no vex. What is the matter?” He said, “wait a minute, I’m going to pray”. Church Gist. He prayed and made unbelievable demands, everyone was granted by the king. They began building, the enemy came, nevertheless, with their prayers unto God. Make a spiritual project of any given task. In 52 days, that gigantic project was completed, by making a spiritual project of that task. I led a fasting cruise for 28 months in pumping life to this Ministry before stepping to full time Ministry. Church Gist. Make a spiritual task of it. Every fundamental thing that makes covenant came from the altar of God, make a spiritual project of it. The  values, dictated from the Lord; founding philosophies, received from the Lord. Make a spiritual project of any God given task. I said, “this university is coming to be the new generation Havard” and I know what I’m talking about. Church Gist. Within the time it set off and now, and read the story of Havard and see how long it took them to get there. I read 8 books on marriage. “Marriage? Is that a profession?” Oh yes. They’re going to live with you for life. Not just, “I love you. I hate you”. I stumbled on the light of hitch-free marriage, and what a blessing today. I read 39 biographies of ministries across centuries. Church Gist. Make a spiritual project of these things, don’t just jump. Look before you leap, lest you leap into fire. Psalm 35:7. That’s the foundation of commanding exploits.

There was this challenge and Daniel said, “give us time” and he went to pray. Daniel 2:19. You know the story. Church Gist. There’s a God in Heaven that reveals secrets. There’s a secret to accomplishing that task in your hand, give it a spiritual approach.

2. Embark on a search on the way out and the way forward through the Word, and in some cases, with prayer and fasting, which help to brighten your access to the light you’re looking for. Isaiah 58:6,8-14. Church Gist. I believed in the prosperity of the children of God but I wasn’t experiencing it because I knew I’ve not found what makes it work. I’ve seen it work in the life of people, particularly Copeland. “Jesus, show the secret behind Kingdom prosperity”, I went on a 3-day fast with my Bible and two books, “The Laws of Prosperity” by Copeland and “God’s will is Prosperity” by Gloria Copeland and sat with God, “show me the secret”. Church Gist. It’s not reading and telephoning and chatting, “yes, I’m reading a book now by Papa but I will talk to you later”, you won’t get anything. Do you read for exams like that? Nobody changes class without passing the prescribed tests. Church Gist. It came to past that God did test Abraham, test is an ongoing thing in the Kingdom.

After the Lord gave us this land, I went on a week of standing before the Lord, “now, you gave us the land, what do you want to use this Lord for?” So, it’s not just sit down, you’re an architect, a town planner and you’re drawing nonsense, ask the Lord, “what do you want to use this land for?” The Lord delivered the masterplan sir, I’m telling you the truth. Church Gist. Awesome time in that room in London.

– no more guess work in your life.

3. Give yourself wholly to your findings by putting them to work. You have asked Him the way out and He has shown you and you’re not working it? That’s your problem. Church Gist. 1 Timothy 4:13-15. There’s an offering that I must not go below when I give an offering to the Lord. So, before I came in down here, my accountant has put my envelope down. If they have finished before I came, I would still send it to them, it’s not, “I thank God they have finished”. Amen. What He has given me grace to do, someone will be looking for it for their entire life cos they won’t do what He tells them to do. Church Gist. They will be looking for it to possess for their entire life, they won’t get it. Give yourself wholly to your findings.

4. Reach out to those who have obtained your kind of desired breakthrough for inspiration towards execution of your own task. You cannot be a ladder and a climber at the same time. Church Gist. Isaac Newton was the one that said, “if I have seen any farther, it’s by standing on the shoulders of those who have gone before me”. My target is this platform, the way there is these steps, I don’t mind the steps, I won’t get there. Church Gist. You will be praying and fasting for me, nothing will happen. God will not hear me because it’s a foolish prayer. There are steps there. Jeremiah 6:16. “We will not walk therein, we are new generation of people”, that’s why you’re degenerating, that’s why many are degenerating sir. I climbed on the shoulders of Hagin in the school of Faith; I climbed on the shoulders of Copeland in the school of prosperity; I climbed on the shoulders of Paul Yonggi Cho, he’s gone to Heaven, in the school of Church growth. I climbed on the shoulders of E. A. Adeboye in the school of wisdom. Church Gist. You better wake up. All these trying to make yourself is the cheapest way to frustrate your life. Do you know who brought me to Matthew 6:33, Oswald J. Smith, from his book, “The Man God Uses”, light broke out. Bless his soul, he’s in heaven. He was still preaching at 98. Church Gist. There’s no new Word, it’s the same old Word, moving forward towards the end. You better get hooked on. Identify those who have obtained the kind of results you’re looking for, check out on what they knew and how they applied it, and you’re interested, “apply it the same way”.

We were in this room when we distributed 400 copies of Yonggi Cho’s book on building successful home cells and the cells just ‘boom’, went forward. Church Gist. There’s no apartheid in knowledge, you better connect, you don’t have a spare life, only one. No return match, you miss it this time, you miss it forever.

– no one will miss it among us.

Now, watch; I did an explorative study of 9 world class universities before the birth of Covenant University. I spent my time and God gave the grace, kept my passion burning to plant something generational. Church Gist. You know how many of our institutions that have died by mishandling in this country? Covenant, Landmark, nonstop. By locating those who have gone ahead and what they did, how they did it. It applies to what you’re asked to do. It’s about the how-to. Church Gist. People have vision but they don’t know the how-to.  Ecclesiastes 10:15. So, the studies of biographies and relevant materials in our various fields is to help us learn better how to do it and how to go about it.

I said many years ago, I think I was in Gambia or somewhere, in a leadership program and I said, “you are either building a library or you’re building a mortuary without knowing”. Church Gist. You’re either building a library for your endeavour to stay alive or you’re building a mortuary without knowing. Hebrews 6:12. Reach out for them. Jeremiah 6:16-17.

5. Be committed to thinking the Word concerning your given task. Proverbs 23:7. Proverbs 4:23. For what comes out of your inside is what determines the events of your outside. Church Gist. Be committed to speaking the Word no matter what may be happening. Mark 11:23. We had a challenge during the construction of Faith Tabernacle, we needed to bring in a crane and the space available was not enough. Two things; either you pierce the beam or whatever or you dig the already reinforced concrete to bring it in. Church Gist. So, they called my attention to it while I was in the site, and the first thing I said was, “there must be a way out. God hates waste. You pierce that, you’re damaging the structure, it may create a problem in future. You dig the floor, you’re multiplying the cost. So, there must be a way out”. As the Word came, I got an inspiration; “how high are the tyres? How much space do you need? Lift the tyres, drive them in”. Church Gist. Simple.  If you can believe, all things are possible, so speak words of possibility. Don’t speak failure, don’t speak, “there’s no way out”, stop speaking that. As you speak those words, the enemy will give up. Psalm 81:10. He wants to slow you down, don’t let him do it.

6. Be committed to a lifestyle of thanksgiving, joy and rejoicing. Habakkuk 3:17-19. Church Gist. Murmuring, complaining, grumbling will only get you grounded but joy and rejoicing will bring in Divine presence, provoking Divine intervention and changing your story. 1 Thessalonians 5:18. Hebrews 10:36.

7. Refuse to stagger or give up. Romans 4:20. Galatians 6:9. Keep your Faith alive, that’s the meaning.

8. One must be covenantly positioned to sustain a life of exploits. That is, remain spiritual. Uzziah was a very spiritual man, and then, his name was all over the earth, and suddenly, he shifted ground. Church Gist. Pride came in, and that was it, he ended up a leper. Be committed to walking in the spirit. Galatians 5:25. Revelations 1:10.

9. Maintain meekness of the spirit. Your generation needs that. No one’s greatness would ever outgrow his meekness; No one’s impact would ever outgrow his meekness. Church Gist. Hear what Daniel said, “this wisdom is not given to me because I have any more understanding than any other living”. Genesis 41:16. Numbers 12:3. Exodus 11:3. Deuteronomy 34:10-12. Very meek, very great. Pride is one of the worst enemy of the believer because it makes God to turn His back on you. God resists the proud. When God is standing on your way, who can clear Him? Church Gist. But He gives more grace to the humble and we can only be what we are by grace. So, when you’re out of grace, disgrace sets in. God hates to see any flesh glory in His presence, so He chooses those who won’t glory in His presence to command exploits. Not that they look meek, but they’re meek in spirit. Some are very quiet but they are very proud. Church Gist. I’ve not seen me heal any sick till now. You know what? Virtue has never left me and it’s virtue that heals people. So, if it was my virtue, I will know. I’ve prayed over the dead and Jesus raised them up and nothing left me because I was still eating on my way and taking snacks in the plane and then Jesus went there to raise him. Virtue left Jesus, it didn’t leave me. Church Gist. Wake up. Don’t be your own enemy, don’t stand on your own path of progress. Don’t be overwise. Ahitophel, very stupid man sir. He was the wisdom bank of David’s government by Divine endowment. Now, Hushai now gave a counsel that is superior to his own counsel and he went to his house and said, “I’m going to die. I can’t stand that. Hushai? He was my student”. Church Gist. He hung himself. A very stupid man. That’s how pride does, it makes you stupid.

– no one here will play foolishness.

Allow God to reach you, it’s for your benefit. Don’t pose or you will be deposed. Don’t pull your shoulders or He will bring it down. Church Gist. Humble yourself under the agenda of God that in due time, He may exalt you. Matthew 5:5. The enlargement of the meek is without limits. The meek operates in the non-limit realm of life. To say ‘sorry’ when you miss it with a vow by grace not to step back there. To admit that you’re wrong when you’re wrong and not begin to argue. Church Gist. How do you know when you’re wrong? When you’re off alignment with the truth on any subject matter, you’re wrong. You can do nothing against the truth, you’re wrong. No new generation truth, you’re wront. Decency is part of Christianity, so, walking about indecently, you’re wrong. Speaking chaff on the street because you’re now a modern Christian, you’re wrong. Church Gist. Lying under any condition, you’re losing your place in Heaven. How do I know when I’m wrong? Check this (the Bible), it’s the answer book. Going after an unbeliever for marriage, you’re wrong. He commanded, “be not unequally yoked with unbelievers”. You will say, “I know that someday, something will happen”, nothing will happen. “I don’t believe in tithing”, yes, you believe in struggling, go ahead. “I don’t believe in seeking first the Kingdom of God”, go ahead with your misfortune. It’s God’s platform for outbreak of Favour; “all these things, that others are dying to get, will be added to you”. Church Gist. The wealthiest man in the world in Bible history never asked for it, Kingdom first, and God said, “you have not asked for yourself riches, I will enrich you”. “Solomon, what do you want?” “Help me not to fail you in the matters of this Kingdom”. “You didn’t ask for the head of your enemy? I’ve added them to you”. It’s a clear graphic illustration of Matthew 6:33. I’ve never asked God for money or buildings. Church Gist. I’ve never dreamt to see a house in my life. House? Where will it stay? I’ve never prayed for a plane in my life. “If you need it for your assignment, why not? At your own time, with your own resources”. You’re that blessed meek man, your expansion on earth shall be without limit.
