I welcome everyone here tonight to this Communion of Escape and Oil of Preservation. Church Gist. I am speaking on the subject, “Experiencing the Ministry of Angels”.
– somebody who is about to experience that ministry of Angels, say a loud Amen.
Hebrews 1:13-14. The Lord bless His Word in Jesus’ name.
We have three objectives tonight:
1. To understand the ministry of Angels
2. To understand the assignment of Angels
3. To understand what it takes to activate the ministry of Angels
It’s important to note that the subject of Angels is such an important subject that runs through the Scripture from Genesis to Revelation. It’s also important to note that the ministry of Angels is critical for success in life and destiny. Church Gist. For every Child of God, the ministry of Angels is critical to success in life and destiny. I am trusting God that preaching tonight, we are not just going to be hearing a preaching, but trusting God for the experience.
– say a loud Amen.
I sense that the ministry and activity of Angels is about to be increased in this season. Church Gist. I sense an increase and elevation in this season and in the earth generation. I also sense particularly in our nation and in this endtime season.
I’m going to ask some questions and answer them.
1. What or who are Angels? Angels are ministering or servant spirits created by the Almighty for His service. Church Gist. Hebrews 1:13-14.
2. Who are Angels assigned to? Two directions of assignment. First, Angels minister or serve their creator, the Almighty. Matthew 22:30. Church Gist. The greatest population of Angels you would ever see anywhere is in Heaven. Their second assignment is that Angels minister to heirs of salvation – the Saints. Hebrews 1:13-14. Church Gist. Everyone who is born again, everyone is a child of God and heir of salvation is qualified to the ministry of Angels.
3. What is our relationship with Angels? There are three or four things that I’m about to say in this regard.
3a. Appreciation to God for the service of Angels is our responsibility. Psalm 91:1-15.
3b. Angels minister to the saints in response to God’s charge to them. That’s our relationship with them. The God who sent the Angels charge them to minister to us. Church Gist. What’s the meaning of that? Psalm 91:10-11. We are not the ones who order them, they are charged for assignment by our creator.
I will give you a story. Many years ago in our Church in area one, I was ministering in a Healing and Deliverance Service and I said that somebody here is going to be traveling to the Far East, around China side, this Friday, I will like to pray for you. Church Gist. The woman rushed out, I think she was traveling to China that Friday. I prayed for her and I said, “go preserved, return preserved. See you when you come”. This lady went and on their way back from China, between China and Dubai, the plane began to have problem. All of a sudden, the pilot came on the air and told the people that he has lost contact with control tower, every contact. Before you can say, ‘praise the Lord’, the aircraft began to descend in altitude, dropped like stone. They dropped 10,000 feet in 5 minutes. Church Gist. The pilot said, “get ready for a crash, everything is out of control”. The person who sat by her said, “oh. So, is this how we are going to die?” She looked at that woman violently and said, “if you’re about to die, I am not about to die. My Pastor said, ‘see you when you come back’ and he shall see me because I shall get back”. So, she stood up in that aircraft and began to blast in tongues. You know desperate times deserve drastic actions, desperate actions. She blasted and blasted, as the aircraft was dropping, all of a sudden, it stabilized. Church Gist. It remained stable and then began to go up. The pilot said, “I don’t know what has happened but I think we have control now”. Came out of the cockpit to find out who was the one blasting and talking like that. She became an instant celebrity. As they landed in Dubai, everybody was getting her complimentary card. Listen to this, this is the point; this woman didn’t come to Church to testify, she just thanked God and all of that. One year later, on a Sunday morning, about 4am, somebody woke her up and said to her, “today is exactly one year since the Almighty sent us in response to your Pastor’s decree to rescue you from death and you have not yet testified. Today is Sunday, go and testify”. An Angel was talking to her. Church Gist. First time I heard it, it shook me, it’s like shivers. “The Almighty sent us”. They are sent by God, they are charged by our Creator. They are ministering spirits that minister for the heirs of salvation. They are sent by God on our behalf.
– I announce and I prophesy to somebody, in this season, you shall experience the ministry of Angels like never before in your life and in your family!
3c. Angels are not meant to be worshiped. So you don’t boss it over them neither do you worship. Revelations 19:10. Church Gist. I hear about the worship of Angels, it is wrong and demonic.
3d. Angels actually ‘envy’ the status of the saints of God. 1 Peter 1:12. That is why for most Angels, they wonder why we behave and act the way we are because it appears to them that we don’t really know who we are; we don’t really know the position where God has placed us. Church Gist. The package of redemption, the total package of what God has in store for the saints, the Angels are eager, they want to peep and see, “what kind of people are these?” God made man in His image, there was nowhere He said He made the Angels in His image. Church Gist. This is our relationship with the ministry of Angels.
What is the Assignment of Angels? The first assignment is why we are here tonight.
1. Divine Protection and Preservation Psalm 37:5, Psalm 91:10-11
In Area One Church, there is that slope there that goes down the way to the Kings’ Banquet. My baby Deborah and her sister Daniella were walking down that slope and suddenly, it appeared like she was trying to trip and fall. Church Gist. And then somebody stood by her, two people (Women), one on the left and one on the right and picked her up and said: ‘Oh! Deborah, sorry’! And just held her up so that she doesn’t trip and fall. And she wanted to turn and say, ‘Thank you’! And there was nobody. Church Gist. So they ran, she and her junior sister and they ran to come and meet us, the mommy and daddy. ‘We just saw something just now, we saw Angels just now! I was about to fall, they held me up and when I wanted to say, ‘Thank you’, I couldn’t see anybody’! Psalm 91:11.
Only in eternity will we be able to identify the things the devil planned against us that never came to pass.
-And I can assure you in the Name of Jesus, that devil shall continue to fail.
Psalms 34:7. Isaiah 63:8-9, the word ‘saved’ is the word ‘rescued’. Daniel 6:22, the Angel shut the mouth of the lion. In Acts 2:6, we saw Peter in prison. Church Gist. Genesis 48:15-16, Exodus 23:20, Angels have the assignment of divine protection and divine preservation.
-Somebody who shall experience that say, Amen!
2. Divine guidance and direction Exodus 23:20, Acts 10:1-6, Acts 8:26, Genesis 16:8-9
Angels guide, Angels direct.
3. Divine revelations
Now when we talk about guidance, it’s like, ‘This is the way to go’. When we talk about revelation in this case, we talk about, ‘The unveiling of mysteries and hidden secrets’. They have that Ministry. Church Gist. In Daniel 10:10-14, Daniel walked in this realm a lot. Now, in Revelation 1:1-2, you will notice that the whole of the Book of Revelation, the basis of it, was the revelation of an Angel, so He sent forth an Angel to open a seal. It was a seal that was opened and John the beloved began to see things of the End Times – The dragon, the antichrist. He began to see several of the things that were yet to come. Angels unveil and usher men into depths of revelation.
4. Supernatural supply or divine provision
There are Angels of supply, Angels of divine provision Genesis 24:40. So Angels are connected to supplies and prosperity, that is the Ministry of Angels to assist a man to prosper in his ways, to prosper in his given assignment. Church Gist. Exodus 23:20, we saw how the Angel of the Lord assisted them to step into the land of Canaan, to step into the gold wealth of Canaan. That Angel was the Angel of supernatural supply and divine provision.
Now, when I saw something about Solomon, I saw in 1 Kings 19:14 and my eyes opened. Solomon literally has a supernatural traffic that traffics things in his direction. Church Gist. The picture that came to my mind was the kind of traffic warden you see there at the junction, that is just moving vehicles: ‘You come here, you move here, you stop there’. It looks like that was the kind of traffic that Solomon had and he trafficked supernatural resources and supernatural supplies.
-I don’t know who is here today, you shall experience this Ministry in the Name of Jesus!
-The Lord can assign an Angel to connect you with those that are relevant to your life and your destiny!
-He can assign an Angel to take you by hand to the place where your money or your resources are.
-He can assign an Angel!
-I see some supernatural things happening in this season even as you hear what you are hearing today!
5. Divine strength and vitality
Angels have the capacity for the supply of strength, vitality and I believe health Luke 22:23. In 1 Kings 19:6-7, Elijah couldn’t feel hungry, he couldn’t feel tired, he couldn’t feel exhausted because he had an angelic encounter that supplies strength, energy and health. I am a partaker of this, I can tell you of that. Church Gist. By diverse revelations, by diverse encounters, strength, vitality that is unusual, that is unbeatable. Now, if you look at Psalms 78:24-25, the Bible made it clear that the food that the Israelites ate was Angel’s food. What was the impact of eating the food of Angels? Deuteronomy 8:3-4, their garment did not wax old, their feet did not swell, they ate something that made it impossible for their feet to swell. A supernatural encounter that gave them stability, gave them stamina, gave them ‘kakrakarity’.
Atimes, some people said I should rest, I say, “you have to rest when you’re tired”. If you’re tired, please rest. I don’t go and lie down on the bed looking for sleep, sleep has to look for me. Church Gist. By any means, whether it’s in form of a vision, revelation or an encounter. One day, in this case, I had over worked myself and I was tired, so I laid down, stressed out. Very few occasions that that has happened. My wife was worried because when you see a lion lying down, it calls for concern. Church Gist. Then, God opened her eyes suddenly and she saw an Angel standing in front of the bed where I was lying and looking down on me. She said, “oh really? Is this what is happening? Then why am I worried? Let me sleep my friend”. The outcome of that encounter was a strength that resulted in race.
– everyone here today as we take communion, I declare every sickness and weakness, disease and any trace of affliction in your body shall be cleaned out today!
6. Victory in Battle. Joshua 6:20. When the children of Israel shouted and the wall of Jericho fell down flat, it was a miracle. Can I ask a question? When you fall a cube of sugar, what is the height? If you fall a cube of sugar, the height remains the same. Church Gist. The wall of Jericho was as wide as it was high. So, push it down, the height remains. The only way it can become flat is if a force pushed it into the earth. That was an Angel. What I believe is that God literally sent an Angel and said, “you know what? Just go and help me level this” and the Angel just jumped and sank it into the earth. Church Gist. When I get to heaven, I will like to find out who that rugged Angel was. The other one I want to find out is the company that joined Michael to kick satan out of Heaven. “Please, I want to see the guys that kicked Lucifer from Heaven until it appeared on earth with the speed of light”. He didn’t know what was happening until he had left Heaven. Luke 10:18. It was too fast for him to realize. Church Gist. They kicked him with a force.
– that is the way God is about to kick a witch, wizard and satanic force out of your life. If you believe that, shout the loudest Amen.
– I prophesy tonight, the ministry of Angels stepping into your battle. Everywhere you’re in battle right now, they are stepping in there!
Joshua 10:11-12. Now, there’s a direct place in which the Angel enters into battle with a sword. 2 Chronicles 32:21-22. Isaiah 37:36. Church Gist. One Angel slaughtered a hundred and eighty-five thousand people overnight. God said, “Angel move. Anyone that is man of might among them, bury them”. To me, they don’t kill one by one. Now, what I’m saying to you is what I told you about that I experienced in the night. One day, I was moving in the dream of the night and then suddenly, some mob came across me to try to attack me. Church Gist. I was about to rush at them and suddenly, I saw this guy standing and he said, “give me space”. He moved his hand about twice, and they were all on the floor. I looked at him and said, “who are you please?”. He said, “I am the Angel sent to fight your battles”. That is why I am too aware that any devil looking for me is looking for death, it’s on a suicide mission. Church Gist. The gentle strides of the tigress is not cowardice, it is strategy. So, when atimes some of us remain cool calm, it is strategy. And I am not more special than you to God. “There are ministering spirits sent to minister to them who shall be heirs of salvation”, there’s an Angel at least one, that I’m sure of, that is around your life.
– In this season, you shall experience the ministry of that Angel!
– lift up your right hand, say “Father, thank you for the ministry of battle Angels around my life. I begin to experience them more frequently, oh Lord, in the name of Jesus!”
7. Divine purpose establishment. Angels have the assignment of establishing the purpose of God in the earth. Church Gist. That was why when I began, I began to tell you that in the season we are in, we are going to begin to see an increase in the activities of Angels in our nation and our world because the stage is set for the endtime move of the Holy Ghost. Church Gist. God has an agenda for Nigeria which no devil can stop. Genesis 32:1-2. Exodus 23:20. Luke 22:43. Divine purpose attracts the ministry of Angels. They serve to ensure that the purpose of God in the earth comes to pass. Church Gist. I don’t need to beg for the ministry of Angels if I’m on assignment for God.
What is it that trigger the ministry of Angels?
1. Being heir of salvation. That is, being born again. Hebrews 1:14. Church Gist. When you’re a heir of salvation, when you’re born again and a child of God, you’re qualified for the ministry of Angels.
2. Being aligned with Divine purpose. When you’re not just living your own life, you’re not living for self, you’re not living at random motion, you’re living for the purpose of your creation, being aligned. Luke 22:43. Church Gist. There are many people wondering why they are not experiencing ministry of Angels when they are just fulfilling their personal selfish ambitions. What God wants to do with their lives is immaterial to them. They are just running in every direction. Church Gist. You know the Angel of the Lord can assist you to fulfill purpose and in some cases when you’re going against the purpose of God, the Angel of God would resist you. Hallelujah! That happened to Balaam. Numbers 22:24. Balaam was going against the purpose of God by trying to curse the people of God. Numbers 22:24-25. The Angel came to hinder him. Church Gist. Are you on assignment? You’re qualified to be assisted. Are you contrary to His assignment or trying to work against God’s people? You’re qualified to be resisted. When Israel came out of Egypt, the Angel went before them to take them into purpose.
One of the things that somebody would do tonight is say, “Lord, help me to be in the centre of your plan. If I’m not in the centre of your purpose, whether it’s what I’m doing with my life, place of worship or spiritual covering, Lord help me to be in the very centre of your purpose so I can experience the ministry of your servant spirits”.
3. Giving voice to God’s Word. Psalm 103:20. Angels are always listening for the voice of God’s Word. Church Gist. When you begin to speak our that Word, you’re giving voice to God’s Word. “I cannot die before my time. I shall fulfill my days. I am serving the Lord my God and He’s blessing my bread and water. I am serving the Lord, I cannot beg or borrow, I can’t be stranded or frustrated”. When you’re speaking based on the depth of God’s Word that is inside you. “Men are cast down, fuel prices haywire but I am saying there’s a lifting up. My God is supplying my needs not according to my account in the bank or according to the budget of Nigeria but according to His riches in glory”. Church Gist. When you’re giving voice to God’s Word, when you’re saying what God is saying, you activate Angels and strengthen them on assignment. Church Gist. You increase their muscle. They excel in strength. That is why some people have more supernatural ministries than others. Some people have more experience in the supernatural than others because of the content of what they say.
4. Avoiding careless of frivolous speaking. When you give voice to God’s Word, you activate Angels, when you avoid careless and frivolous talk. Ecclesiastes 5:6-7. All manner of frivolous and careless talks, the Angel is not hearing that it’s an error. Even jokes that are useless jokes, you don’t joke useless jokes that are negative talks it will hamper and hinder the ministry of Angels.
5. Altar of sacrifice and giving Judges 13:19.
One of the things I saw early in my Ministry is that the altar of sacrifice provides a Celestio-terrestrial highway for the traffic of Angels Judges 13:19-20. Church Gist. In case you say, ‘What is the meaning of that big English? A Heavenly-Earthly Expressroad (Laughing). Like they ask somebody, ‘What is the meaning of disaster’? And he says, ‘It is calamity’. He used another big word to answer a big word.
The altar of sacrifice! And I can say this further to you, the covenant fathers: Abraham, Isaac and Jacob who were men and people of altars and sacrifices they dwelt especially Jacob in a company of Angels Genesis 32:1-4. Church Gist. And if you remember the man Cornelius, one of the things that were used to remember him was his giving Acts 1:1-5. Everyone who understands the language of sacrifice, the language of giving, the language of altars, the language of covenant, will experience the Angels of the covenant.
6. The altar of prayer and fasting Daniel 10;2-6, Luke 22:43
7. Praying abundantly in the Spirit 1 Corinthians 13:1
Now listen to this, speaking in tongue is communication, you are speaking a language. So, there are tongues that are tongues of men, there are tongues we speak that are languages somewhere in this world. There are people who have spoken Spanish and French and all of that while speaking in tongues. Church Gist. But there are a bulk of tongues that are the tongues of Angels, it’s not anywhere on the earth. That is why some people said, ‘When they spoke in tongues on the day of Pentecost, there were people who heard them. That was how God had chosen for it to happen at that time. The people heard them because they were speaking majorly tongues for them to hear them, as evidence, but there are tongues of Angels. Now, when you speak in tongues that are not earthly, that are angelic tongues, you are communicating to Angels.
How many of you have ever found yourself in New York City and you are just walking on the road and you are just seeing some people greeting each other: ‘Nna, kee kwanu’? Oru o na agakwa? (Translated in Igbo – O boy, how far? How’s work?) And your ears are pulled in that direction, you will just walk towards them and you will just start greeting them. They are not talking to you but you just found yourself, or you just found yourself and somebody says: ‘Abadie’? (Translated in Ibibio – How are you?) And you just move in that direction. Or you hear in Los Angeles or Las Vegas or somewhere, ‘Oya bole! And especially, if they start blowing your own dialect, you will just move in that direction or you say: ‘Ah! Ah! And you start talking. Church Gist. Language compels attention, when you speak the tongues of Angels you don’t beg them to come. That is why when you pray in tongues abundantly and you are likely to speak in these tongues, you dwell literally in the company of Angels, at times, you are given instructions. You see Paul the Apostle in 1 Corinthians 4:18, ‘….I speak in tongues more than you all’. And Paul the Apostle experienced the Ministry of Angels and supernatural Ministry more than they all Acts 27:23-24.
How is the appearance of Angels?
1. Supernatural and spectacular.
That is where you see the bright shining of a being, maybe it is just golden or whatever with wings and all of that Revelation 18:1. Church Gist. There are times when people have not seen a form, all that they saw was light, everything was just light and there was voice or speaking whatever coming out of the light.
2. Human and ordinary
There are times when you will not see anything extraordinary, just human. Daniel 8:16-17, Daniel 9:21 – He was speaking in prayer. The man Gabriel appeared, it was an Angel but he came as a man. And this was no ordinary Angel, this was the Archangel Gabriel, the Messenger Director, the Message Company Angel, the head. Church Gist. Just like Michael, is the head of the warriors. This was Gabriel and he came as a man. In Genesis 18:1-11, Abraham was sitting and three men appeared to him and these were Messengers from Heaven – The ones that prophesied about the birth of Isaac, they came as men, he even prepared food for them and they ate. That’s a mystery! Hebrew 13:2.
I have seen angelic revelation not too many times just a couple of times. And I think I will say, maybe sixty percent of what I saw came in just like a plain man, that one that I saw, that said, ‘Give me space’! Was just a normal man. What was different was that his move was not human – This one was normal size, almost like my size, just normal man but his move was not normal. Church Gist. Somebody was in a vehicle, in Karu here, about to travel to Jos and saw a man, he was sitting in the front. And he said to him, ‘Come down from this vehicle’! He looked at the man, something about him looked somehow. And he said, ‘Yes! Come down from this car’! He came down and said: ‘Wait and enter the other one’! That was Salvation for his life because on his way he saw this car that he came out of. Let me not complete the story.
Some people were driving in the time of snow at night in America, Christians. And they came to a cross-section, the kind of place where the road will pass and the train will pass and they were not looking and a man stood by the road and waved at them until they stopped. Two minutes or one minute later, a massive train just passed. They would have run into the train and be crushed to death. And they looked for the man that stopped them, he was nowhere to be found. Man! I saw one, one time at the altar in Area One that was a size of maybe ten or twenty men, massive, with a sword. The height of a man can be like his ankle. He identified himself, and he identified the era in which he operated. And he was identifying himself as a deployment for the season. He demonstrated and his hand moved with the speed of light. If he moves like this, a whole community of people can be wasted. From that day till tomorrow, I knew that there are classes and categories.
– As I am speaking, there are many people seated here that God has given diverse kinds of experiences but what is happening tonight is that there shall be an escalation.
-Even tonight there shall be an intensification.
