WHY I ALWAYS SMILE WHEN I HEAR SOME PROPHETS PROPHESYING
IF ANY PROPHECY TURNS OUT TO BE FALSE, IT WAS NEVER FROM GOD. GOD NEVER TELLS YOU ANYTHING THAT WAS NOT ALREADY COMPLETED
BEFORE GOD DOES ANYTHING AT ALL, HE WILL REVEAL IT TO HIS SERVANT THE PROPHET
GOD IS NEVER TAKEN BY SURPRISE AND KNOWS THE END FROM THE BEGINNING
WHEN YOU PRAY, PRAY WITH THE CONFIDENCE THAT GOD KNOWS YOU WILL BE PRAYING AND THAT YOUR ANSWER IS AVAILABLE
A PROPHECY FROM GOD THAT CHALLENGED MY FAITH: THE CASE OF A WOMAN WITH FEATHERS UNDER HER ARMPITS
THE RESPONSE OF EVERY TRUE CHILD OF GOD TO A PROPHECY FROM GOD SHOULD BE, “LET IT BE UNTO ME ACCORDING TO THY WORD.”
WHEN GOD SPEAKS, IT IS DONE. DO NOT DOUBT HIM AT ALL
I PROPHESY: EVERY PROBLEM THAT YOU ARE COVERING WITH YOUR BEAUTIFUL DRESSES, MY FATHER WILL SOLVE THEM TODAY!
HOW GOD SHOWED ME THAT I AM POWERFUL
IT IS WRONG TO THINK YOU ARE POWERLESS WHEN YOU HAVE RECEIVED THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
IF YOU ARE NOT GETTING EVERYTHING YOU SHOULD GET FROM GOD, CHECK YOUR FAITH. GOD’S POWER IS EFFECTIVE
WHEN GOD MAKES A PROMISE, WHATEVER HE HAS TO DO TO FULFILL THAT PROMISE, HE WILL DO
IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT THE SITUATION MAY APPEAR TO BE LIKE NOW, JESUS WILL RETURN
– Pastor E. A. Adeboye on “FOR WHOM THE HEAVENS OPEN (Part 20)” || RCCG Online Sunday Service || 9th July, 2023
We will be continuing our series on, “FOR WHOM THE HEAVENS OPEN” using Joshua as our example. But today we are moving on to Joshua 6:2. We are looking at a passage that is heavily loaded and the first thing we will want to look at in this particular passage is the issue of prophecy. Church Gist. God was saying to Joshua, “Joshua 6:2 (KJV) And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour.” What is prophecy? Simply put, simply means, God revealing what he is about to do. Amos 3:7. Before God does anything at all, he will reveal it to his servant the Prophet. Isaiah 46:9-10. He will tell you things that are yet to happen if you are his servant, the Prophet.
We have to remember that according to Revelation 1:8 that our God is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending they all meet in him. So he knows the end from the beginning. That’s why he can declare things that are yet to happen. Like somebody said, where you are going, God is already there. Church Gist. Acts 15:18. Long before Joshua was born God knew that one day, he will come across Jericho with its walls. The day they were laying the foundation of the walls of Jericho God was there which explains why when he decides to pull down the wall, it was an easy thing for him.
This should be an encouragement to every one of us. There is nothing happening to us that is new to God. Our God is never taken by surprise. He knows the end from the beginning. So even before you begin to pray, pray with the confidence that the one you are crying to already knew that you will praying at a particular period in your life and the answer had already been made available. Church Gist. It’s like a governor or a president declaring a road open. Before he says he is cutting the tape, the road had been constructed, tested, it is nothing new happening. That’s why I have good news for somebody that your tomorrow will be alright. It will be alright because God already knows the end from the beginning.
When we talk about the issue of prophecy, if any prophecy turns out to be false, it is not from God to start with. God never tells you anything that was not already completed. Something already settled. Numbers 23:19; Psalm 33:8-9; Romans 3:4. Church Gist. It’s one of the reasons why I always just smile when I hear some prophets prophesying. You listen to their prophecy and they say, “if this happens, then this is likely to be the result.” No, no, that’s not the way of God. God will say, this is what I am going to do because before he tells you he has already done it.
You go through the Scriptures you see several examples of prophecies. Genesis 12:1-3. Church Gist. Before Abraham left his father’s house, God had already said he will make his name great. He told him in advance. Genesis 17:1-21; Genesis 21:1-7. When God speaks, it is done. Don’t doubt him at all. Luke 1:26-38. The response of every true child of God to a prophecy coming from God should be like that of Mary, “let it be unto me according to thy Word.” Don’t query him.
When you go through the Scriptures you will see a lot of heroes of the Bible going to unbelievable lengths based on the prophecies of God. For example in Isaiah 43:2. Only God can say that. So when we now got to Daniel 3:23-27, when they threw in Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego into the fiery furnace, the fire refused to burn. Church Gist. The reason those boys were sure that the fire is not going to burn them is simply because God had promised. Even when God speaks to Prophets and he says things that even Prophets find difficult to believe, God will still prove himself. Ezekiel 37:1-10. I am not a prophet; prophets are those who sit down in the office of prophets and God speaks to them per second per second but once in a while, I do hear from him and occasionally I hear certain things that even will challenge my faith even though I know with God all things are possible.
I can never forget the case when we had a Holy Ghost Service at Adamasingba Stadium in Ibadan and the Almighty God said to me, “Son, in the crowd there, there is a woman. Under her armpits are not hairs but feathers. Call her out and I will heal her.” That’s beyond human imagination and that’s true prophecy. It’s not true prophecy for you to say in Nigeria, “thus saith the Lord, in the month of June, it will rain tomorrow.” It is the rainy season so don’t tell me it will rain tomorrow. Church Gist. I never believed it because I told God, “thank you, we have had a fantastic night. Let’s go home. If you say there’s a woman out there with feathers under her armpits, I know you know that she’s not going to come out and everybody will look at me and say, ‘hey, here goes a false prophet.'” He said to me, “Son, you want her to die with her problem?” I said, no way. (So I said it). She came out and God solved the problem.
– I want to prophesy to someone: every problem that you are covering with your beautiful dresses, Father will solve them today!
When God makes a promise, whatever he has to do to fulfill that promise, he will do. Matthew 14:23-33. Jesus walked on water to fulfill his promise. He suspended the law of gravity. Whatever he had to do to fulfill his promise, he will. Once he spoke, it is done. Church Gist. So you need to learn even just by studying his track record that whatever he says, he will confirm. John 6:48. He confirmed it when he took 5 loaves of bread, 2 fishes, began to break and fed 5,000 people. Somebody said, “Where was the bread coming from?” From the bread of life. He produced enough bread to feed 5,000 with 12 baskets left over.
One funny fellow said to me, “Oh, he didn’t actually multiply the bread you know. He was teaching the people, they enjoyed the teaching so much, their hunger disappeared.” I said, what about the 12 extra baskets? Church Gist. John 11:25 was proven in John 11:39-44. He brought back a man who had been dead and buried 4 days. John 14:6 was proven in Acts 12:5-11. I am praying for someone today in the name that is above every other name, God will make a way for you.
Then, he made a promise in Acts 1:8 and confirmed it in Acts 3:1-8. Peter healed the man because he had received power. That’s why I am sure it will be grieving the Almighty God for those of you who have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit to think you are powerless. Church Gist. It is as if you are saying, “God is a liar.” I am not saying that one to judge you, I’ve been through it.
I have told you the story before of when I was in Ilorin several years ago and I was praying like nobody’s business, “God give me power. I need power to do this work.” He spoke to me and said, “Son, what have you done with the one I have given you?” “I can’t feel any power” (I said). He said, “Did I say man shall live by feelings?” I said, okay then, since you say I have got power, tomorrow morning any one I see, I will begin to use the power. Church Gist. He took me up on that because very early the following morning somebody came with a child who had not slept for days and the doctors have sent the child home to go and die. They brought the fellow for prayers and I said, “O God, what do I do now?” He said, what about yesterday night? You were saying that the next time you see somebody you would lay hands. I said, “that was last night. This is day light.” But there was no dodging now because the child was there. Church Gist. I took the child in my hand and began to pray, trembling. All of a sudden the child went limp. I said, O God, the child had died. The child didn’t die, he fell asleep for the first time in days. That was the end of the problem.
Who told you that you are powerless? Is God a liar? Then you need to pay attention to this particular one: he promised that he will return. John 14:1-3. It doesn’t matter what the situation may appear to be like now, Jesus will return. I want you to know there’s nothing wrong with the power of the Most High God. Church Gist. If you’re not getting everything you should get from him, check your faith. Mark 5:25-34. Power is there as solid as ever just that out of the crowd, the woman with the issue of blood was the only one who reached out to tap into the power.
So my beloved children, this Sunday, tap into that power. When God says by his stripes you are healed, it is a settled matter. Church Gist. When he says he sent his Word and healed them and delivered them from all their destruction, it is a settled matter. Reach out and claim your victory.
As for those of you who have not given your life to Jesus Christ, this is why I tell you again and again, “don’t be a loser. Come to the Almighty God.” Matthew 11:28.
