Before I share God’s Word with you, I have a wisdom tip for this Second Service, it is not the Message it is just a wisdom tip. I say: ‘Men learn to separate your official life from your family life especially those of you who always have people around you, learn to meet them outside your home remember you have grown-up daughters and as they are coming they are seeing them’ – Wisdom. Church Gist. Every man as your daughters are growing, don’t hold meetings in your family house, hold the meetings outside your home – Political and business meetings. Are the men hearing what I’m saying?
Well, the Message is ‘SECURING YOUR HARVEST – PART 2’. In Psalm 35:27, so God takes pleasure when you and me prosper, He is pleased. God wants you prosperous, God does not want you to live a wretched life, no Sir! Church Gist. He said: “The blessings of God maketh rich and it added no sorrow” Proverbs 10:22. God is the true source of lasting wealth, everything God does He has a purpose for doing it.
Why does God want you to prosper?
You need to find out why God wants you to prosper because He has a purpose for everything He does.
1. To promote His Kingdom
Because without prosperity the Kingdom will not be promoted Zechariah 1:17.
2. To be a blessing Genesis 12:2
You can’t be a blessing in poverty. For with all humility before God, the personal billions I have spent on scholarship, I can’t do that if the provision is not there, I’m able to train students all over the world by God’s privilege because God has blessed me, is that true? Church Gist. He blesses you to be a blessing. Today, when I say that I want to build a Church, I don’t announce. I say: ‘Pay for it and build it’. It is only one Church that God has privileged me to build that I have seen with my eyes, the one in Bolo after almost a year before I saw it – That is, the Church, they have started worshipping a year plus before I saw the building.
3. To meet the needs of your family 1 Timothy 5:8
If you don’t provide for your family, you are a useless man true? Many women who are saying: ‘My husband is useless’, not because the man is really useless because the man cannot provide. Once the man cannot provide, the first thing you hear them talk is, ‘Don’t mind your father, useless man’, they say: ‘Mummy, why do you call him useless’?, ‘He can’t even pay your school fees’. True? Ninety-five percent of useless men is money matter oo, the men, they don’t have any problem, it is just that. Once you cannot pay school fees, you cannot give her money, you are a useless man to your wife. Church Gist. And I have never seen a woman who provides for the house that is humble, it is one out of one million. Her mouth that time, ‘Useless man, his mates are going to work, he is here depending on my salary, your father, useless’, that’s why God should prosper you true? 4. To help the poor Proverbs 19:17, Proverbs 28:27
Do you know why you need to prosper? You don’t need healing every day because you don’t fall sick every day but you need money every day that’s why you need to prosper, don’t deceive yourself. You don’t need healing, do you need healing every day? Church Gist. No! You only need healing when you are sick but you need money every day, so don’t pretend you don’t need money every day even to come to Church this morning you need money true? For instance in Nigeria, gas and fuel have gone up, you need money every day! To pretend is hypocrisy, you say: ‘I don’t need money’. Church Gist. It’s a lie, you need it! God said: ‘Don’t put your focus on the need, put your focus on His Kingdom’. In Matthew 6:31-33, He said I know you need these things but don’t put your focus on the things, put your focus on the Kingdom of God. In 2 Timothy 3:16-17, the good works include carrying out God’s will.
Now, while studying, I saw something from Job 36:11 and had a better understanding, I have used it to preach sometime. While studying, light came from that Scripture – The truth is that, there is obedience and servanthood – They are major requirements for God to trust you with His prosperity. Fulfill these few things and you will prosper and God will be pleased. Now listen, if we are not spending our days in prosperity and our years in pleasure, it means that we are either not obeying God or we are not serving Him in some areas of our lives. Church Gist. So everyone not prospering, you are either not obeying God or you’re not serving Him faithfully. Many are willing but they are not obedient Isaiah 1:19, they say ‘I like to pay tithe’, that cannot make you prosperous, you like to pay until you pay. ‘I like to give’, you will not prosper. Liking to give is your willingness to give but you must give. I would like to go to Lagos but have you gone to Lagos? From Port Harcourt! ‘I like to’, it is not there yet. Obedience must be with action! John 2:5
Obey God because He is the true source Haggai 2:8. I want to ask a question: What do I do now that things are hard all over the globe? Should I hoard? Should I become stingy? What is it that I should do now that things are hard all over the world? Church Gist. Because it is a global problem it is not a Nigeria problem alone, things are tough everywhere. So what should one do? Should I become very stingy? Should I hang myself with rope? What should I do? In Job 22:21-25, he said: ‘Put God’s Word where’? In your heart! What do you do?
1. Store God’s Word in your heart Job 22:21-25
God said you should prove Him. God wants you to prove Him now. In Malachi 3:10, God is committed with an oath. So you commit God’s integrity and say: ‘God, I have proven you now, confirm your Word’. God is saying: ‘Prove me now with your tithe – ten percent of your income’. I was studying and I discovered that everyone that God brought into abundance proved Him. Church Gist. The man Abraham for instance proved God before he stumbled into undeniable wealth Genesis 22:12, 17-18. David proved God 1 Chronicles 29:3-5 and 28, he proved God over and over above and God lavishly blessed him. I spoke to one of my Associate in Ministry here, he said: ‘If you lavishly thank God, God will lavishly bless you’, so God lavishly blessed David. In 1 Kings 3:3-4 and Solomon loved the Lord, he went to Gibeon to sacrifice one thousand burnt offerings. If you check the Bible, each one proved God.
David Ibiyeomie proved God. If you think I didn’t prove God, you can get angry if you want, I gave God one million dollars when I had no house, you think I didn’t prove God? If Bible were to be written now, my name would have been written. In fact, my own was bigger than Solomon because Solomon had money when he gave, me I gave when there was no house. If you think it is easy, go and give your own – One million dollars. I had no block, not even foundation! I proved God oo. Church Gist. All these people talking, they better do what I did, nobody is worthy to criticize me on prosperity until you do what I’ve done. I gave one million dollars, today equivalent is eight hundred and sixty-two million naira (N862,000,000) in one Sunday. And God said: “Boy! You will never be broke”. I am one of the wealthiest preachers on earth because I proved God, it doesn’t come by luck until you prove God. Have you proved God? Prove Him! God can’t lie oo. Let the economy tumble, I don’t care, this man will prosper. And don’t even get angry, it’s not even because of your money.
My wife travelled with me, I didn’t even step out, I didn’t even go out to preach anywhere, money was coming to where I was sitting – Inside the room and I sowed all out. In the early hours of even the morning that I was to go, a Pastor drove from a two hours plus and came to meet me in front of the apartment by 4 am and said: “I must sow this seed before you go”. This man is a dangerous giver! In this generation, we are not two all over the world. Church Gist. This is not bragging! All over the world! People don’t give, they give when they are comfortable. If I give one million dollars now, it’s no money to God but that time… Hear me well, I said I had no building not even one block e dey easy? If e easy, you give your own na! Don’t jealous me oo, not you! How will you jealous me, I’m your Pastor.
2. Fill up your cloud Proverbs 11:24, Ecclesiastes 11:3
Now listen, in Port Harcourt for instance this morning, it had stopped now, it has been raining since. You go to Sokoto now, they may be begging for rain in Nigeria or in Maiduguri because there, no vapour goes up, no sea. It rains in this area because it’s a coastal region is that true? The amount of water that goes up is much so rain keeps falling. Here we bind rain, there they pray for rain. Are you getting the difference? So if you give, which is vapourization! Vapour goes up from your offering then raination will be coming down – More vapourization, more raination. Let me tell you something, miracles don’t just happen we work them out by doing what God tells you to do no matter how obscured it may be. It may look stupid but how do you give when things are tough? But that’s how it works – Quality seed is what you need to have quality harvest. Let me say this to you from Genesis 4:4-5, so God respects offering. Church Gist. He’s not a respecter of persons but He respects offering. People who don’t give even in the Church, they get angry with prosperous people – Check all over the world even Pastors who don’t give, when they see people like us they get very angry. You wonder what did they do to you, Cain was angry with Abel! If you are not a giver, I can tell you very soon you will criticize everybody in the Church. Even now you will criticize them and say: ‘Don’t mind them, everywhere thief’. They be thief, you wey be holy man why you no get money?
Once you are not a giver, you will become a critic in Church. You will start seeing and finding faults everywhere ‘Don’t mind them na so dem go dey tallk, preaching everywhere’! Give na! If you think giving is easy, give na! Giving is the most difficult work to do, you can do all night – Very easy! The most difficult thing to do is giving! How do I know? Jesus said: “You must not serve two masters”. He knows money is looking for attention, you must be dead to money to give money. And God raised our offering! Quality matters to God. He said Cain’s offering, He did not accept. So it is not every offering you bring to Church that God accepts, some of you are giving Cainic offerings. There is Abelic offering and Cainic offering! Some of you give Cainic offering, that is offering taken by ushers. You know how you know the offering is Cain? Listen to this: You just bought hair of two hundred thousand, you bought a shoe of one thousand dollars, you took a lipstick of fifteen thousand, took a makeup of twenty-five thousand then you come to Church with five thousand. True? God says: “My friend, you are the most usefulness child I have”.
Sometimes it is good to talk some things so that some people don’t think. I have a family that is very large because since we married we have not eaten food by ourselves, it has always been crowd that has been eating, we have never stayed alone since the day we married, any food, there must be a third person – Somebody else! From the day we married, another person must be part of the food. As blessed as I am, as hefty as you think, it is me that gives my wife one million, I don’t give my wife more than one million in a month but I don’t give one million for offering. Church Gist. There’s no Service I give one million! Every Service, I give more than one million, so our feeding money is less – My offering is higher than our feeding money per Service. Some of you what you use for your house is bigger than Sunday offering, you say God sees my heart I love Him, my four Services I mean in each service I give more than one million I won’t tell you how much I give. She told me, ‘Give hundreds of thousands! ‘As rich as I am’! My wife, she is one of the prudent people I’ve met in life, she doesn’t waste.
I’ve seen! Look, Don’t marry a wife that is extravagant you go die quick because if a woman is extravagant she will choke you – The demand she will put on you, you will die quick. Some of you, see your offering on your family! Now check how much you are giving now and you say you love God, thank you! ‘Eh! I love God! Thank you! You love God! You truly love am? Check how much you wear. Come from your head (The women) to your toe then the men look at your watch then to your suits to your toe then look your offering wey you bring come. Church Gist. And when you want to sing na you go sing pass oo, 🎶 ‘I love you Lord you are Holy and forever you are God’🎶 if you sing choir, those wey dey sing pass na dem wey no dey give pass – Anybody wey dey sing for choir no dey give oo, I no say nobi all of them but most of them no dey give. But there are some: 🎶 ‘I love you Lord you are Holy’🎶 God says: 🎶 “You love Me but you have hole because you no dey give Me offering 🎶 Cain! God said: “I will not accept your offering, so even the one you want to give today, find out if God will answer it”. If what you are giving is not bigger than what you are using it is not accepted, let me tell you today. I want to teach you raw: Your offering should be bigger than whatever you use for yourself!
Matthew 6:33. So God must have the highest if you want to prosper like me, if what you are using for yourself is bigger than what you are giving to God, then He is not number one, He is number two! Struggle will continue! I’m a covenant practitioner! If I give her one million per month at my level and she brings me back change at the end of the month, by October she will tell me I have some reserves that can carry us for two months! So I don’t even give her the twelve million for the year, I give her like ten million. That’s as wealthy as I am. Church Gist. Then some of you, you come for Church, twenty thousand! And you say: ‘Father in the name of Jesus’! And the way you pray eh’! And God says: ‘You? Cain’! Because this offering, ushers collect it and pass! You know? There is offering God collects and there is offering ushers collect! Most of you, your offering ends with ushers not God. I will never give to God trash, it’s a vow. That’s why I can’t be poor, if they like let them sell fuel for any amount I won’t be poor because God won’t allow me. He brings my money not from you alone, I get money… Okay, can I humble you? The whole money I got from Europe not one from Nigeria. There was a time some people got angry in this Church and I knew they were angry, God brought money from London to me. You know? I’m a very covenant person.
I saw some people very arrogant, you know? There was one Father’s Day, I saw arrogancy, I said: ‘God, prove to them that I’m a covenant practitioner’. All the arrogant people, He humbled them. The highest offering I had that year came from UK to prove to them that their arrogance can’t stop my covenant walk. Even as I’m talking now, if you get angry, don’t give me again, get angry and say: ‘This one too dey talk about money’ if I don’t get blessed by tomorrow. Church Gist. I’m a dangerous giver that I have connected to God by covenant! ‘Boy, don’t depend on men otherwise you won’t be lifted – Men can harass you and insult you, depend on God by your own covenant walk with God. Let your giving make Him push you! Men can be very arrogant, do you know the things I’ve seen as a Pastor? They say: ‘Okay! This guy is talking too much, let’s deal with him’, but when you are connected to the Alpha, nobody can stop you from going far. It is possible to receive a harvest from the seed you have not sown. It is impossible to receive and harvest from the seed you have not sown Genesis 8:22, 2 Samuel 24:24b, Malachi 1:6-8.
You know? When Jesus was on earth, He didn’t look at anybody praying, He looked at your offering. He supervised offering, check your Bible. There is no place Jesus supervised who is praying, but He stood like this and said: ‘Let me see, all these people wey dey talk for Church how dem dey give’, then He said, a woman gave and He said: ‘Oh! This woman has given the greatest’! They said: ‘How’? He said: ‘She gave a widow’s mite, she gave all that she had. Don’t use the word, ‘Widow’s mite’! Religious people, widow’s mite means: ‘All I have’. Some of you will now bring and say: ‘This is my widow’s mite’, that is your ‘Stingy mite’. A widow’s mite means: ‘Everything that I have’. You know? I go tell the truth! My mouth go sharp! You know why? I dey do am! – Talknado, I’m not teaching you prosperity, I’m a doer of prosperity.
Look, if the money I have, I use it for myself I will buy a house every month, estate! What is a house? I don’t use 0.5 percent of the money I have for myself, what’s 0.5? 000.1. Every money I have is for God and people, if I use the money I have for myself oh my God! Do you know the scholarship alone I pay? When they bring bills! Do you know how many old people I pay? Old people on my salary alone is in millions every month! Church Gist. Old people who are helpless, who have no children! I house them in the best areas in the town, I give them accommodation, every old person I house has a housemaid. I pay housemaid for them to take care of them because most of them have no children. One of them went to be with the Lord yesterday, I’m the one to bury her because she has no child. Tell me how God will make me die quick! One of them one day prayed a prayer: ‘The thing that will kill you, let it kill her’. She said: ‘My son, anything wey go kill you make I die make you bury me’! Who will pray for you like that? It’s not you, it’s for the stingy people I mean.
Bad thing no good to talk! Somebody passed on, e say: ‘Why this one die? Why this one no die’? I say: ‘Shut up’! E say: ‘Because this one dey too stingy, why the stingy one no die? Why the one wey dey give come die’? I said: ‘See human beings oo, I fold my hand, I said: ‘See people oo’! They say: ‘The one wey dey stingy no die na the one wey come dey free come die, that one dey help poor people this one no dey help anybody na only him’! I said: ‘Human beings are funny oo’. So people are seeing even you! When you’re stingy – Only you, your wife and children! Every time, my son is in Chicago, this one is in this one. Okay, who again outside your children now wey dey for ‘Chica-come’? Church Gist. You know? I have my first son in Amsterdam, my second son is in Cambridge, my third son… no one is in Rivers State University you are training! You are a useless man! That’s not how to prosper! Your prosperity should also touch other people’s lives. When my time on earth will be over which is a long time to come, I tell you there are people who will still remember me that after I’m gone I will still be living! There are people that can’t die, I can’t die! Do you know how many people are in my scholarship? Do you know the hundreds of thousands on my scholarship? If I want to use that money on myself… But I pay millions every month. If I use that money I will be buying house. Every month I will say: ‘One in Lekki’! Don’t live for self, live for God and others.
What will make your giving produce?
1. Do it cheerfully 2 Corinthians 9:7
2. Do it willingly Exodus 35:5-9, Isaiah 1:19
3. Sow on a good ground Deuteronomy 12:13-14
Look for a Bible-believing Church where the Gospel of God (Salvation) is preached everywhere and don’t sow to any man of God who does not pay tithe and is not a giver. Listen, I’m going to tell you something very strong, let me say this to you ‘If you ever give to someone who does not sow, your Heavens will close’! Church Gist. Listen, I’m talking what I know! I’ve given a man of God who had a small baby for less than a week and the person he was staying with drove him out of the house and he came with the small baby and the wife. And emotions not compassion… Church Gist. That time I had just like hundred thousand in my account totally, my wife is a living witness to that. And I brought forty thousand naira and said: ‘How can somebody be this wicked’? That’s why you don’t judge people because the way God looks is not the way man looks. I gave him the forty thousand and my Heaven closed. Everywhere closed! I said: ‘God why’? He said: ‘The man you gave this offering does not respect my covenant, you are just acting by emotions. He doesn’t pay tithe, he doesn’t give! So that thing that happened to him is not Me.
If you give to a Pastor that does not give, your Heavens will be closed! Hear me! It’s not everywhere you put offering, many of you said you gave to me you get blessed true? You know why? I’m a very dangerous giver! I’m a very fertile ground! If you give to a non-giver, you will never prosper! Give me money with all humility and immediately you break through because I am a giver. Don’t give to a non-giver! Especially when the person is born again, if the person likes let him be crying! Leave him to sort himself out with God! Believing God for a financial miracle or breakthrough without sowing is like trying to pluck a star with your bare hands. Is it possible? Let me tell you this truth, if you don’t give, pray from now till tomorrow in the midst of hardship you will never get breakthrough! Let me tell you, it may look hard, ‘God, since wey things dey tough, fuel don go up, transport I no get’. The thing go get worse for you! It’s not a prayer point, you must give to come out, is that clear? If you like say: ‘Papa em no dey pity people’. Which one do you want? Truth or bitter? How many want me to pity them? Read your Bible there was nowhere Jesus had pity on people, He had compassion on people not pity, pity is not of God! Compassion is of God not pity! Pity is just human feelings! They tell you, ‘Sorry’! Have they helped you? Everybody sees you, they say: ‘Sorry oo, try’!! My friend stop letting people tell you sorry, you are not in sorrow!
Rise to your feet, I love you!
One thing I can’t stand is stingy people, I hate a stingy person. Some people are stingy oo, stingy to even themselves. I don’t know whether this money you go eat am. What do you want to do with money? Some people are stingy even to their own children- ‘Don’t tell me anything, go and meet your mother’! As if the children quarrelling him, he has the money oo. Before you come sef, they don start complaining, ‘Government never pay us’!
