– Jesus, thank you for advancing this Church. Thank you for moving us forward always. Thank you for the things you’re doing in our midst. We are amazed. The glory goes to you. Receive our thanks in the name of Jesus!
– I pray that this empowerment will empower each one to higher levels of stewardship and keep us going for you all the days of our lives. So, let it be in Jesus’ precious name.
– Breathe upon your Word this morning and let your light break forth into everyone one’s heart. Thank you Father in Jesus’ precious name.
Praise God! I’m on the covenant highways of life. Congratulations.
His Words are the highways of life. Isaiah 55:8-9. His ways are the highways of life. Church Gist. So, the things we are hearing and learning are all in a bid to get us on that covenant highway of life. They are not things to pray about oh, they are things to discover and choose to walk in. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness comes upon you. Light has a lifespan, that’s why you have day and night, in their seasons. When you don’t walk in the light when it comes, it turns to darkness subsequently. John 12:35. Church Gist. So, everytime the water was stirred, whosoever first steps in is made whole of whatever disease, not who drags in or who is thinking about, whosoever first steps in. John 5:4. That’s the example of Abraham, whatever God said, boom, he steps out. Walk while ye have the light oh, lest it be turned to darkness. Light comes through for a season, you don’t grab it, it goes, you wait for the next time.
When I saw Matthew 6:33, I grabbed it and entered into covenant with it. Not the following week or the following day. Church Gist. When I heard the Word, “you shall not borrow”, I entered into covenant that day. Walk while ye have the light. Don’t push your blessing into the future, it’s available now. Church Gist. When I caught the light on corporate tithing for the Church, boom, we dived into it. See where it has brought us. Delayed obedience is disobedience.
Mind your personal walk with God. We are going to appear there one by one, not group by group. Mind your personal walk with God, don’t politic in Church. Church Gist. The Household of God is God’s family, every member has an identity. Jealously guard your identity with God.
Every change is sustained by planning. Every change comes through by knowing where you’re going and planning to arrive there. I will be speaking to this subject this morning, “ENGAGING THE COVENANT PLATFORM OF ORDER FOR CONTINUOUS GROWTH AND EXPANSION”.
Acts 16:4-5. That was sequel to what happened in chapter 14 when they were issues. Church Gist. Some people were trying to force circumcision on the gentiles as a requirement for salvation, so the Apostles met and came up with a position and wrote letters to be delivered to the Churches. Acts 16:5. Titus 1:5. You don’t wait for orders, you set orders. I have said this over and again, praying without planning is playing without knowing and planning without programming is living in the woods, no GPS, no direction, anything goes and programming without pursuit is dining with the dead, the plan will never see the light of the day. Church Gist. James 2:26. Proverbs 24:3-5(AMP). Any enterprise is built by wise planning including Church enterprise. Your Church is God’s business on earth.
Again, I have said over and again, if one is not willing to review his approach, he cannot improve on his result. So, they were distractions in the early Church and they set order. Church Gist. “It’s not proper for us to leave the Word of God and be struggling about dividing food, let’s appoint some deacons, let them watch over that and we give ourselves willing to pray and ministry of the Word” and so, the Word of God increased and the number of disciples multiplied greatly. Church Gist. They reviewed their approach and their results improved to match. Acts 6:1-4,7.
I have also said over and again that excellence is a product of one’s commitment to tireless improvement. 2 Timothy 3:16-17. Church Gist. We do not belong to a lawless Kingdom. Some people hate laws and they even talk about it. The first man created was given a law to keep. So, there was a law of God before the law of Moses. We do not belong to a lawless Kingdom. Romans 8:1-2. There’s no lawless zone on the earth. You’re angry with the law of your Nation, you move to another nation, you meet laws there. Church Gist. You break the law, you suffer the same consequence. It’s only in the grave that there’s no law. 1 Corinthians 9:20-22. We live in the Kingdom guided by laws. Anything that portrays “you can do anything you like, God still loves you”, (it’s a lie), God is not the author of confusion but of peace. 1 Corinthians 14:33,40. Church Gist. We serve a God of decency and order, He’s not the author of confusion but of peace in all the Churches of the saints.
Order was at the beginning of the early Church, Peter’s leadership wasn’t contested and James stood as his deputy. We saw that drama in Acts 15 when they were trying to deal with the issue of doctrinal conflict. Church Gist. Peter first spoke, “you know how the Holy Ghost sent me and opened the door to the gentiles to speak in tongues like we are” and James said, “you heard what Peter said, now, here’s my statement”. Everybody said, “we are all okay, our leaders have spoken”. Order! Acts 15:3-11;13-22. We also saw order restored in the early Church through an epistle from the Apostles like we read in Acts 16:4-5.
Furthermore, we serve a God of patten. Hebrews 8:5. God has a pattern, He’s a God of patterns. Church Gist.You can’t increase the number of floors in a highrise building without adjusting the structure otherwise a collapse is imminent. We have some stories of collapse of buildings in some recent past and if you check, it was a structure not strong enough to sustain the number of floors they were trying to do. Church Gist. Growth without structural adjustment is a risk.
I’m speaking right now to the recently introduced localization of Church administration which is now domiciled in every local Church where no individuals, either Pastors or statutory body members can take decision on their own. Church Gist. The structure is set to make everyone responsible accountable.
Certain worrisome experiences have come to light over the past 10 years that must need be addressed going forward. In one of the nations a pastor (in one of the mission stations) in one or two awarded a building contract for the Church project against the decision of the board of the Church which resulted in a massive loss. Church Gist. We also heard a case of a network of auditors and accountants that robbed the Church of so much of her resources in a particular state in Nigeria. Someone also in one of the nations robbed the Church by claiming to buy musical instruments for the Church, collected large sums of money and resigned after getting the money and went away with it. We also have instances of Churches planted between one to three years back, structures in place and the ones in place for 7 to 10 years have not been attended to because of the centralisation of Church project administration. So further decentralisation of the Church is required to address such anomalies. A number of Church projects have been hanging due to bureaucracy of central projects administration, this also calls for a need for localization agenda. This policy also provides adequate covering for our community Churches as they are being allocated to mega and mainline Churches for spiritual and financial covering so that no local assembly is neglected. Bring themselves close to the ground – no one can oversee what he does not see. Church Gist. Let the officials on ground be in charge of their various local assemblies. They can determine the pace of their growth and expansion and live within the budget as may be approved by their local authorities.
Also, central funds are being allocated to various places to cater for all their ongoing projects. Please note that this localization agenda makes every official of the local Church accountable for the decisions that they make and every one must accept responsibility for the outcome of it. Church Gist. The system administration put in place here is the kind where the pastor is not all in all so he can be protected from every form of pitfall. It is not new to our system but it has to be guarded and reinforced. It will also enhance the pastor’s focus on his ministry. Time to plan and execute Church growth agenda, time to be effective in the study of the Word and on the prayer altar in advancing the Church. Order is of God.
The mandate came through in 2012; by 2015 we had doubled number of Churches that we had as at 2014. By 2019 we have doubled it. So today about 80 per cent of our pastoral work force are in the freshmen class. We need to take care of that to be sure that there is no abuse from any quarters. This also informs the placement of younger generation of leadership in the administration of the State to avoid generational gap subsequently. Church Gist. It is interesting to know that at the beginning of this ministry, in the beginning days of our Church ministry, we had an Executive Council that I set up and answerable to. I set it up by the discretion of the Holy Spirit and I was answerable to that authority. I could not present any account without a back up of receipts including toll gate receipt. I will wait and collect the toll gate receipt because I will attach it to that report. That’s how we came through, that’s where we are coming from. Order protects those who subscribe to it. Order validates their testimonies.
We were looking for some documents some months were missing, we just called the members of that Council, “you have this copy?” – Oh yes I have it. So we were able to collect everything together. Why? It was not closed up. Christianity is not a cult, it’s an open faith. What I tell you in secret, shout it on the house top. That council worked effectively from 1985-1988 before we had expansion. This Church administration began with a one page structure then we grew to about 28 pages – we had more things to do, then to about 70 pages and then to the mandate that you see today. Church Gist. It’s all growing. So we are growing into new realms right now and so we should all respond to it. The statutory body has the administrative authority over the Churches according to the details already sent to everyone. Enjoy being under authority; it’s the only way to retain authority. You have to be under authority to exercise authority. If you are not, you can’t exercise authority.
For now for instance we have introduced State Mission Overseers. Why? We need to keep the MIS operation going with timely response to findings from the field. This is an administration with tens of thousands of Churches at the same time, the reports come in, how do you examine them? Church Gist. The state structure has its functions, they can be overwhelmed by those functions and leave the MIS operations reports and returns unattended to. It will make no meaning. They are all results of growth and expansion.
– My prayer is that no one here will miss his place as God continues to set order in the system.
I’ve never been asked, “What about this money?” in this ministry – never once! Nothing validates and authenticates your testimony like open accountability. I’m speaking out to us statutory body members, all the pastors. Open accountability is key to validating your integrity. Church Gist. This Church will endure for generations as Jesus tarries so order is fundamental to securing that. Isaiah 33:6. When wisdom and knowledge is engaged with the fear of the Lord, it stabilizes the future. Ecclesiastes 3:14. Remember whatever the Lord doeth it shall be forever but not without our taking responsibility. Follow the pattern as he unveils them. We are so privileged to have access to his leadings at all times.
Watch, last year we gathered some of our pastors including from outside the Country to get them trained for the new mission expansion to the nations of the world. On the first night of that meeting the Lord said to me, “these are not the people I want to use.” We shut down that induction that night, I asked them to go back to their places the following morning. Church Gist. They came with their wives, but that was not God’s agenda. We didn’t have to send one man to open those Churches sir. They secured all the hands they needed from outside the Country. So we walk by the Spirit here – no guess work. Now you saw us in 83 nations within the same year without any human or financial resources from here. What an awesome God we serve!
God will only do what he says to do when we follow what he says we should do. It’s never late to be right. Let’s be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and follow suit. Church Gist. We serve an awesome God! We are guided by what is written because we believe he has directed and they are working.
– May this new phase of our localization of Church administration deliver maximally in every location! May it not be abused by any individuals! May it be jealously guarded in the name of Jesus!
Now back to us as individuals, we are in the last days and let’s see what these last days carry. Hebrews 9:1-5. Tables of the Covenant, the Golden pot with manna inside it, Aaron’s rod that budded, it says we cannot speak particularly on those things now. I am glad to let you know we are now in the days of the table of the covenant. There is a shift in the spiritual realm, a shift from the realm of promises to the realm of covenant. God is sending messengers of the covenant by the Holy Ghost into His Body who will begin to unveil the covenant requirements to actualize God’s agenda in our lives. Church Gist. We serve a covenant keeping God. Things have changed, the Church is maturing. The days of ‘God come and do this’ are over. ‘What must I do’ are the days in which we are living. What must I do to inherit eternal life? What must I do to be saved? Acts 16:30. We are in a doing kingdom not a begging kingdom. Please take note of this. 2 Chronicles 15:3. Jesus came preaching and teaching. Preaching will stir up your mind and get you spiritually warm. Teaching will instruct you on what to do for God’s Word to come to pass in your life.
We are in the days of the tables of the Covenant in the Kingdom. It covers all areas of life. Acts 5:20. All areas of life are covered. Do you want peace? There is a covenant of peace. “I will make a covenant of peace with them”. There is a covenant of peace. There is a covenant of prosperity. There is a covenant of righteousness. 1 John 3:7. These are the things to do to sanctify yourself, Jesus said in John 17:19. Church Gist. You don’t wait for somebody to clean you up and dress you up before you go to work. You take responsibility to brush your teeth, go to the washroom, go to the bathroom to sort yourself out, dress and look fit, then you go out. “God come and cleanse me” it won’t answer. 2 Timothy 2:21. Every aspect of life is covered by the covenant of scriptures.
Until we do what He commands us to do, we cannot commit Him to do what He says He will do. No Church grows without a people on the go, you can pray till forever, you have to go. Your prayer gets the field prepared for you to go and harvest, it is not a substitute. You can’t pray to pass an exam. You pray to understand what you are studying because you must study. Otherwise you fail blatantly just praying. No one can taste success without having sound direction where he is going, be disciplined in his approach, be diligent in his engagement and be sacrificial to be outstanding in his success. There is no free lunch in life. If you don’t understand that, you will be waiting and wasting until life comes to an end. Church Gist. Psalm 89:34. Jeremiah 33:20-21. We are in the days of the tables of the covenant, please come awake. You can’t be rewarded without engaging in labour. Everyone shall be rewarded according to his labour. 1 Corinthians 3:6-8. Our spiritual labour is ordained for reward if we engage in it. You can’t call for reward when you are not in labour. Labour first and reward later. All this “somebody is doing me” is because you are not in the covenant. When you are in the covenant, nobody can undo you. The covenant is stronger than the worst devil in hell. The devil that cannot stop the day and the night from coming up cannot stop the covenant from working in your life. You can’t be a consistent and delightsome tither and be talking about one devil that will not let you prosper. There is no such devil. The covenant is stronger than the worst devil in hell. When you are walking in the covenant, the devil is out of the equation. The covenant is saying this is what I have vowed to do if you will do your part. The devil notwithstanding, I am committed. The hand of the devil will not seen in your life anymore. Just commit to doing what He says to do and leave the rest for Him.
Promotion does not come from the East nor the West, God, not the devil is the judge of all. He sets one up and brings another down. God can’t set you up and the devil brings you down. God can’t lift you and the devil brings you down. Do what He says to do and leave the rest to Him. Church Gist. Covenant consciousness is the master key to triumphant life in the kingdom. Engage with it and you will see the hand of God. You have heard me say once and again that I am not surprised that we are where we are, thank God for bringing us there but I would have been surprised if we were not there. What He says to do is what we are doing so why won’t He take us to where He says He is going to take us?
I heard God say to me in 1984, 39 years now. He said there is a place for you on top if you are interested. I said I was interested. Then whatever I tell you to do, do it. I was in the book of Deuteronomy 28. Not preach it, not pray it, not write it, do it. Whatever I tell you to do, do it. Not publish it, do it. What is God saying? Church Gist. Doing what I tell you to do is your flight to the utmost height in life. Do what I tell you to do from my Word, not looking for somebody to prophesy to you and then you are scaling the utmost heights in life. You are going places.
Now, God does not reward leaders He rewards labourers, He does not reward Founders, He rewards labourers. There are Founders who are beggars and what they found is the Truth but they are not labourers. Psalms 89:34. Anybody can pray till forever, if you don’t love your wife you can’t have a peaceful family. You can’t have a peaceful home. Church Gist. Ephesians 5:25. If you are arrogant as a wife, you are the one breaking your family. You are proud as a husband, you are the one just breaking it without knowing. Life in the Kingdom is guarded by covenants.
-And I pray that in the name of Jesus, in this year of Covenant Highways, you won’t miss your place.
I saw in my Bible years ago: ‘Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men’. Proverbs 22:29. Church Gist. He said to me: ‘Where you find yourself tomorrow is not a product of your connections. No! But of your productive engagement in your assignment’. Let’s put God’s Word to work and watch how God keeps confirming His Word in our lives without struggle.
-It’s your turn.
The good news again is this: ‘We all have a common destiny in Christ, everybody! Nobody has children and then wants some to succeed, others to fail. God has a common destiny for all of us in redemption. Church Gist. We have equal destinies in Christ, equal enviable destiny in Christ. Equal mountaintop destiny in Christ. Equal royal destiny in Christ. Why are some there and others are not? Some have found what to do and they are doing it. Others have either not found it or have found it and would not do it. And God is no respecter of persons. Acts 10:34.
-Everyone’s seeming slavery would be exchanged for royalty!
He said to the Church in Smyrna, ‘I know your afflictions and your poverty, although you are rich (You don’t know it) but you are wallowing in poverty’. Revelation 2:8-9. We have so much untapped resources because we have not come to discover what we must do to actualise them. Jesus obtained for us power but it doesn’t drop on people, it drops on the thirsty – People that are desperate. Psalms 63:1-2. Luke 4:14. He obtained for us power, riches, wisdom, strength, glory, honour and blessings. Revelations 5:12. It’s equal package for everyone but each one must find out what to do to operate in those realms, it won’t drop on anybody. Church Gist. Nobody can operate in His heritage of riches without being a delightsome seed sower. 2 Corinthians 9:6-8. So each one chooses what realm of prosperity he wants to walk in. You give sparingly, expect sparing results, you give bountifully expect bountiful results. Not in terms of volume but in terms of cost. It is not the devil therefore, it’s not circumstances therefore, it’s where we stand in the covenant. It’s not new that there is economical locusts all around the world today, it’s not new! One great famine hit the land in the days of Joseph, people were selling their land, selling everything they had remaining their own body and they offered it for sale. Genesis 47:15. Genesis 47:27. In the midst, under the same atmospheric conditions but the covenant distinguished them.
-You shall be distinguished. Malachi 4:1-2. You shall be growing up and going forward. In the midst of a burning earth you will go forward! Church Gist. Amen! Like fatted calves, no impact of the negative environment on your life. That’s God’s agenda for you.
Please, be covenant conscious in your walk with God. Possess a covenant mentality in your walk with God. There is no limit on the destiny of a covenant child of God. John 14:12. Matthew 11:11. There are no limits on the destiny of any practicing covenant child of God. God said He will build a 50,000 seating Sanctuary, He did. And then He said: ‘Why are you taking My Project there’. So He is building another one by Himself, no limits! Your destiny has no limit! Don’t place a limit on yourself by living an anti-covenant life. Church Gist. Let God’s covenant be valuable to you, engage with it. So you hear us say: ‘Covenant Day’!! Covenant Days are to show you what you must do to access these things. There is what you and I must do to enjoy God’s agenda for a good old age. So come in tomorrow and collect the key and if you are interested, keep engaging the key. And then God will surely confirm His Word! We can’t treat His Word with levity and expect Him to treat us with dignity. James 4:8. He’s a covenant keeping God! The good news is: ‘This is one of the Altars of Covenant in the world’.
-May the covenant of God unveiled to us in this Commission find raw expression in everyone’s life!
Declarations: I serve a covenant keeping God.
You don’t beg to be honoured in the Kingdom. John 12:23-26. An undedicated seed will remain the same for life but when it is sown, it grows up and becomes greater than all herbs. Mark 4:32-34. Church Gist. Every dedicated, tiny child of God has a great future and any seemingly great believer without being dedicated remains at the same spot. But not for long, when you throw a stone up, wherever it stops going up, it starts coming down. It starts wearing out. Church Gist. God’s covenant is sweet, He won’t ask you and me to do whatever He has not empowered us to do, it’s only our choice that makes the difference. 1 John 5:3. In school, you don’t set an exam for primary 5 for a primary 1 pupil, it will be sheer wickedness, it never happens. Church Gist. Why do you think God will ask you and me to do what He has not enabled us to do. We have His grace, He’s only waiting for our choice.
I chose to align with the marriage covenant and I screamed, “I’m set for a hitch-free marriage”, we have had it all these years. Do your part, leave the remaining to God. Church Gist. These things works and it works everywhere. Wherever the sun shines, the covenant works. So, you don’t have to travel to somewhere or go back from somewhere. A dedicated child of God will be honoured by God anywhere he lives. Church Gist. A non-dedicated child of God will be frustrated, remain at the same spot wherever he may find himself. It’s all about our choice.
John 10:17-18. You can’t win the Father’s love and not be a living wonder in the world. David the lover became a national hero at age 17. Church Gist. The Bible said he behaved himself very wisely and Saul was afraid of him. John 10:17-18 Anybody has power to dedicate his life. True dedication is the cure for all forms of frustration. Church Gist. True dedication is the gateway to distinctions in life.
– you will not miss your place.
I’m saying this to mean one thing, “Papa has prayed for me”, that is not a substitute for your dedication. I can lay hands on you, like I always say humourously, to become a pilot. I say, “come on here Steve, you’re now a pilot, Captain 747”. Church Gist. That will be a lot of drama. You go through the process of becoming a pilot before you ever become a captain. There’s a process. I can’t pray over you to prosper. No, you do what makes men prosper and I pray for you to maintain the grace of the path of giving. Church Gist. So, let’s stop waiting for these religious things and wake up to take covenant responsibility over all areas of our lives. Take delight in asking the Lord, “what must I do to secure the changes I’m looking for” and settle down to engage accordingly.

If you hear any other teaching without this one on this year of Covenant Highways, you have not heard anything. Church Gist. It’s not just a promise, it’s a covenant. That’s why you call it Covenant Highways – taking covenant responsibility to get on the highway of life. Now, when I got that light in 1984, you know what I said? I will consider a demotion if I were invited to be the president of this country. Church Gist. Nobody will invite me to be a chairman of a local government, I wasn’t qualified but I saw a future from that Scripture and I knew by my engagement, was taking me somewhere and it’s taking you somewhere because we have a common destination in Christ. Church Gist. All we need to do is to keep engaging with a covenant mentality. Engaging guided by the Word.
– This Church shall remain a cradle of endtime prosperity as God begins to change the story of each one supernaturally.
– We shall become an epitome of the good old days.
– None dies here young anymore.
Every covenant of Scripture guarantees a future.
– your future will not be lost!
Shall we lift up our two hands to Heaven and ask God for grace to remain an addicted delightsome covenant practitioner.
—PRAYERS
Now, there is the Covenant of fearful favour. It anchors on Matthew 6:33. Do one thing and secure the addition of all these other things. Psalm 34:10; Psalm 102:13-15. Fearful favour answers to Kingdom priority lifestyle. We never prayed for aircraft in this Church – not once! He just came through and said, “It’s time to get the Aircraft” and he got it. Church Gist. We were believing God for #3,000 for our Church rent facility in Kaduna – October 3, 1984. I told our leaders about 6 of us, listen to me, “if I had this money, God won’t appeal to me to give it. But now we are all at the same level, understand what I am saying because a time is coming when some of us will take off in the air and you start complaining, ‘we don’t even know what they are using.’ Let me tell you what I am using right now – I’m sold out to God.” Church Gist.
