– Dr. Pastor Paul Enenche on “THE PROFIT OF THE WORD OF GOD” || September 2023 Anointing Service – First Service || Glory Dome, Abuja.
Isaiah 48:17. Subject is “THE PROFIT OF THE WORD OF GOD”. Our objective this morning in this teaching is:
1. To understand the profit that is in the Word of God
2. To understand how to access the profit of the Word.
It is clear throughout Scripture that the Word of God is profitable. The Word of God makes profit available. Church Gist. The Word of God is calculated to add something to a man’s life. The Word of God is designed to generate a definite difference. You’re not permitted to carry the Word of God for years with nothing to show for it. Isaiah 48:17. Church Gist. The Word of God is not targeted at information, it is directed at transformation. The Word of God does not just inform, the Word reforms and transforms.
What profit is in the Word?
1. The Word brings peace.
The Word is therapy for peace. Isaiah 48:18. Psalm 85:8. The Word of God is continually speaking peace to His people. Church Gist. Mark 4:39. What is the implication of this?
1a. The Word brings peace to the troubled soul. The soul that is troubled and agitated.
1b. The Word brings peace in times of crisis. Where there is a crisis situation in your life, family, marriage, in the place of work, it takes one Word to arrest the crisis and bring peace.
1c. The Word brings peace in the midst of the storm. Church Gist. Jesus was in the midst of that storm and He arose and spoke peace into the storm and there was immediate calm.
1d. The Word brings peace in the midst of the battle to the embattled soul. Is there a battle you’re fighting right now? Church Gist. Wherever that battle is and whatever situation it is, it is the Word of God that brings peace to the embattled soul in the midst of the battle.
– right now, by the mantle of God, I stand here to speak peace to somebody!
First of all, the Word brings peace. Is your soul troubled? Church Gist. When that Shunamite woman who lost her son came, “is it well with you?” She said, “it is the well with my soul”. It brings peace.
2. The Word brings hope.
The Word is the vehicle of hope. You can imagine what we would have done today without the Word, in this world and in this Nation. Psalm 119:49. Psalm 119:81. Church Gist. Psalm 119:114,116. Nobody can say you hoped in God and see, “what has God done for you now?”. Psalm 119:116
– You shall not be ashamed of your hope!
– you shall not hope in vain!
Psalm 130:5. What is the meaning of all these to us?
2a. The Word of God brings hope in the midst of hopelessness – where everything around and everything appears hopeless.
2b. The Word brings hope in the midst of despair and discouragement.
2c. The Word helps us not to give up on expectations no matter the situation. Job 14:14. Church Gist. You know why? Because if your hope is in place, help is on the way.
– I speak to someone here, help is on the way in your life, family and in your destiny, help is on the way!
3. The Word brings healing. Psalm 107:20. Proverbs 4:20-22. Luke 5:15. Luke 6:17.
– somebody is receiving healing today!
What is the implication of this?
3a. The Word brings healing and wholeness to the hurting and broken. Church Gist. Many times when we talk of healing, people are looking at physical things, that’s part of it, but there’s a healing that is deeper than even the physical, it’s emotional healing. People that are deeply hurting and emotionally bruised, people that are battered, the Word brings healing to the hurting and broken.
3b. The Word brings an end to all ailments, afflictions and infirmity.
– I believe that today, there are people here that will see the end of afflictions and infirmities in their lives!
3c. The Word brings strength, health and vitality. The Word of God makes for physical strength itself, vitality and energy. 1 John 2:14. It is the source of energy, strength and vitality. There are those who are not sick and they’re not strong.
3d. The Word of God brings repair and relief to life’s damages. Church Gist. Where something is damaged around your life – damaged life, damaged imagine, damaged body part – the Word brings repair and relief.
– as I’m speaking right now, the same is happening to you!
– somebody say a loud Amen.
4. The Word brings fire.
Jeremiah 5:14. Jeremiah 20:9. Jeremiah 23:29. The Word is fire. Psalm 39:3. As we meditate with the Word, it causes fire to burn.
What does it mean that Word brings fire?
4a. The Word births spiritual intensity, fervency and vibrancy. Church Gist. You want to be spiritually intense, fervent and vibrant, the Word of God is a place.
4b. The Word births zeal and enthusiasm. Fire is talking about zeal and enthusiasm, makes you zealous for God, enthusiastic for God.
4c. The Word kills lukewarmness and spiritual lethargy. You cannot be truly Worded and be lethargic and lukewarm.
4d. The Word is trigger for revival. Whether it is personal revival, family revival, congregational revival, national revival, the Word of God is trigger for revival.
So, in case you’re in need of fire, healing, hope or peace, what you actually need is the Word.
What are the secrets of access to the Word? How do I access the Word? Accessing the Word means, how do I see what is inside this Book?
1. Through the Possession of value for the Word. Luke 5:1-3. Their pressure made Him to sit. Church Gist. He was passing by the lake of Gennesaret but they rushed after Him, not for miracle, they rushed after Him, not for a physical touch, they rushed after Him to hear the Word and when He saw their value, it arrested His motion.
God’s servant, Papa Oyedepo said many years ago, your sense of value determines the flow of virtue. Revelation belongs to desperation. Church Gist. Insight follows interest, you can never have insight where you lack interest. God will not force on you with what does not interest you. He won’t bother you with what does not bother you. He didn’t stop because He saw crowd, He would have continued moving but they pressed on Him. It takes pressure to access the precious. Church Gist. The precious matters of the world answer for those who put pressure. You know, the devil knows that your destiny is located in the Word, you know that? Acts 20:32. Your inheritance of health, wisdom, supernatural supply, authority and royalty and spiritual power over demons is inside the Word, so, the devil makes you to have no appetite for the Word. Church Gist. The only day you carry the Bible is on Sunday, the Bible does not open again till next Sunday. You can watch movie for 3 hours, you can listen to all manner of things but not the Word for 30 minutes. It is like a child dying of malnutrition but feeding on ice cream. Church Gist. Please understand that Church going alone does not change your life, it is access to the content of the book. Not just carrying the Bible, carrying the Bible and knowing what the Bible carries. Church Gist. It’s one thing to carry the Bible and it’s another thing to know what the Bible carries. Putting the Bible under the pillow will not drive demons, it is the revelation inside the head that drives the demons. Hallelujah!
Revelations 4:1-2. Revelations 5:1-2. The Bible normally comes sealed, when it is unsealed, we call it revelation. Revelations 5:1-6. Church Gist. The major assignment of the Master was to come to the earth and to make sure that we understand this Book. I will speak about it another day. He didn’t just save us but He came to assist us open the Book. When He gave up the ghost and the curtain tore, the Holy of holies was opened. Inside that Holy of holies was our access because in the Holy of holies is the Ark of the Covenant. Church Gist. The Ark of the Covenant carried the tablets of the 10 commandments, carried the rod of Moses that budded and the golden pot that had manna. Those three things were inside there. It tore the curtain so that we can access the tablets of the covenant and access to the content of the Book. Church Gist. Revelations 5:5-6. So, by His Blood, we have access to this Book but for as long as you have a book that is closed, the weeping continues. The struggle continues. You carry the Bible, you don’t know what it carries, witches are tormenting, affliction continues, weeping continues until the Book opens and you can see what is written concerning your life.
Listen to me beloved brothers and sisters, Jesus did not stop until they pressed to hear the Word. You’re in Church this morning, what are you pressing for? There are many, all they are pressing for is miracle, some, all they came to show is their cloth. Church Gist. What are you pressing for? Why do we labour for things that do not matter? Why do we spend our time on things that will not add no value?
Yesterday, we were going for a program, on our way coming, my wife told me, she said, “this is the second message I’m listening to now”, inside the car. That is, within the period of a short time, one message has finished, another one is on. Church Gist. On fire! As they pressed, He stopped. Do you want God to stop for you? Press! As they pressed, he stood. Do you want God to stand still for you? Press! Do you want to command the attention of God? Possess desperation.
2. Meekness of Heart.
James 1:21. It is only the meek that can receive the Word. Psalm 25:9,12. Meekness is teachability of heart. It is admission of ignorance, you admit that you don’t know. Church Gist. You’re available for anybody to teach you. Our major challenge is that we are too familiar with the Bible. “John 3:16, For God so loved the world…”, before the Pastor can finish it, you have completed it. See, let me tell you, out of that John 3:16, if you have 1,000 years to live, you can get a fresh revelation out of that verse everyday, something you never saw before. Receive with meekness, refuse to be familiar, refuse to know (too much). Church Gist. People have taught me, children have, I have taught me. I’m telling you. I am listening to message that I preached and I didn’t know when I said that and I’m crying and broken by the message that I preached. I have listened to up to 3 messages between yesterday and today of my own, my father’s own, about 2 of them. Church Gist. So, I’m eating multilaterally and just ‘everywherely’. Meekness. I told Dr. Mrs Enenche yesterday, I said, “some of the messages I’m hearing, I am hearing mind-blowing testimonies inside the messages that I could remember”. The year we planted Liberian Church, close to 15 years ago now or more, that year, when we arrived the Nation of Liberia, the United Nations commander of the force there received us at the airport, Nigerian ambassador also hosted us in the Nation and the Vice-president received us. Church Gist. I said all of that in the message and I couldn’t remember. So, this thing has started since, that you arrive at a Nation and the whole nation receives you, it’s not today.
– look at your neighbour, say, “calm down, there are many things you don’t know. God is in a hurry to teach you but you must be ready to learn”.
I see young men today who have not started but they have already arrived. They speak with authority like they are the owners of the Church, the body of Christ, looking for everybody to correct. Church Gist. Journey has not started and it has finished. One day Papa Oyedepo said, he went to Bible School where people were giving charge, 5-5 minutes, one Bible School student gave a Scripture that he has never seen before and he was the one teaching them in the Bible School. ” Man that is honour and knoweth not is like a beast that perisheth”. He said, “what? Is this in the Bible?”. Church Gist. One day, we were talking and he said, he calls me Apostle Paul, “that Scripture you mentioned, I haven’t seen it”. That is the one you have been following for 20 plus years. What do people know that they think that they know anything? To the point where you say it. Now, some people will hear it for the first time and keep quiet, “if I say it, what will they think?”

– lift up your right hand and say, “Father, in the name of Jesus, I receive the grace of meekness and teachability. I receive it now in the name of Jesus!”
3. Uprightness of life.
James 1:21. If you will make fire, you must eliminate garbage. Let me see it another way; the chaff is the enemy of the seed. Church Gist
Abundance of chaff will give rise to shortage of seed. When the container is full of chaff, there’s no place for seed. You know the sower soweth the Word, the Word is seed. When life is full of chaff, garbage, rubbish and all manner of terrible things, there’s no place for light. If you want to have light, you must clear garbage. Church Gist. You know in the village where they use lantern, if the glass of the lantern is dirty with the blackness of the smoke, how much light can you have? The cleaner the glass, the clearer the light. If that light is going to flood the house with neatness, that glass must be cleaned out of soot. Church Gist. Many of us, there are things that God wants to show us but there’s so much smoke and soot around and the light can’t pass through it, so everything is still dark and dirty.
– it’s a new day for you!
– I prophesy a fresh garment of uprightness and holiness.
– I prophesy the spirit of meekness
– I prophesy today the grace for value and desperation for the Word in the name of Jesus!
– everyone who is a troubled soul here, I speak peace into your heart and your life!
– everyone who is losing hope in life, I prophesy, hope is released! Hopeless is gone! Discouragement is arrested!
– I speak healing to every broken heart and body, I speak healing to every life here in the name of Jesus!
– Fresh fire, fresh revival is released upon you!
