In the season where we are in, we are dealing on a general subject that is titled, “LIGHT HAS COME.” Isaiah 60:1. Tonight, under this subject we shall be speaking on, “THE VALUE OF LIGHT.” Our objective is two fold:
1. Understanding how valuable light is to our lives
2. Understanding the way of light.
I want to make it clear tonight that light is very critical to man’s life existence on the Earth. Light for example the Sunlight is the anchor. Church Gist. Everything from mammals, to birds, life can actually shut down without light. Food in the refrigerator will be going stale, inability to handle several things when light is actually not there. You understand that the major difference between the developed nations and the under developed nations is light. When nations are in front and others are behind, power, apart from corruption and other things, is a major factor.
As it is in the physical, so it is in the spiritual. Very soon I will talk about spiritual light, what light represents in the spiritual realm. How valuable is light?
1. Light is valuable for sight. We see by light. The absence of light is the challenge of sight. Church Gist. Know that when they say the eye is getting blind it means it’s not responsive to light anymore. No matter how good your eye is, in the thickness of darkness it is hard to see anything. Light is valuable for sight.
2. We saw that light is the cure for the night. Everywhere light appears, night answers. The night can be night until there is light. Church Gist. When we talk about night we are referring to darkness -the forces of darkness, of the enemy, they bow for light. The light of God and the light of his Word.
3. Light is the fuel for faith because light arrests fear. Fear normally hides under the cover of darkness, light is the answer for faith. Church Gist. Light handles fear, brings clarity and clarity brings faith because we only doubt when things are not clear.
So we’ve seen light for sight, light handling the night, light fueling our faith. Today we are looking at the fourth value for light:
4. Light is the fuel for strength and might: Isaiah 60:1. The power to rise is connected from light. You may be in a grounded position and you’re unable to rise up in life, but when light comes, men rise. Church Gist. The strength to rise whether from a grounded position or from a lying position or sitting position is acquired by light.
– I prophesy to somebody here today, Everything that has grounded your life, made your life on the same spot and you’re so weak to move and so weak to achieve anything in life, I decree today, light is coming and you are rising!
Later on you’re going to see that the Word of God equals light. John 1:1-3. So the Word of God is light so if you see the Word you can put light. Church Gist. 1 John 2:14. You are strong because light abideth in you. The arrival of light is the arrival of strength. You cannot be considered a weakling if you’re not lacking in light. Let’s look at some physical examples:
Look at the Sunlight: the sunlight is responsible for physical strength. There is, out of the sunlight, the ultraviolet rays of the sunlight is relevant in Vitamin D manufacturing cholecalciferol that is relevant in bone formation. So a deficiency of it will lead to brittle bones and lead to rickets in most cases. Church Gist. So at times, doctors will prescribe for a rickety child to take time in the Sun because the strength of the bone comes from the Sun. The sunlight is needed for the formation of the bone.
Now look at the reptiles, the lizards, in the morning it comes outside and is just lying on the floor where there is no sun. If you try to touch it, it just remains there. Until the rays of the Sun arrives and impact it with energy and alacrity…and all of a sudden the lizard moves because it’s unable to move until the light has impacted it. So there is something light does with strength. Church Gist. You cannot be a weak man or woman, you cannot be weak spiritually if you’re connected to spiritual light and I want to let you know, I have come here tonight by God’s grace with light. What you’re hearing now is light and I announce today, every trace of weakness, powerlessness, lethargy disappears by this light!
– For somebody here today the days of your weakness are over!
When you get light you get strength and when you get strength you’re unable to faint before battle. Proverbs 24:10. If your strength is small, little things will push you down, make you cry. Little devils will make you turn your back and be on the run. But if your strength is not small, you’re not permitted to faint and if your light is not small, your strength cannot be small and if your strength is not small you cannot faint or fail in front of any devil. Church Gist. It is strength that you use to turn battles to the gate of the enemy. Isaiah 28:5. When you have strength, God makes you to turn the battle of your father’s house to the gates of the enemy. Where your life is no longer the battle ground, where the enemy’s gate is the battle ground.
– By the strength of the Word you are hearing now, your life ceases to be a battle ground!
5. Light is the fuel for flight: light is connected to flight. Have you ever seen a very very big rocket fire to the moon? When you see it going up what do you see at the back of it? Fire! Enough fire, enough light. That fire powers its flight until it escapes the gravitational pull of the Earth. The things that pushes people down can’t push it because what is pushing it is bigger. Isaiah 60:1, 8. Church Gist. They got light in verse one and they were flying in verse 8. Light makes for flight. Flight is a combination of acceleration and elevation. You’re running and rising. Flight makes you to have speed and height. Galatians 2:2. There are people seated here today, by the light you are receiving now, you’re about to take flight!
Lift your right hand say, “in the name of Jesus, I am about to fly by light, I shall fly by light!”
You know when Peter took flight? When Jesus said in Matthew 15:13-16, “who do men say that I the son of man am?” Peter said, “thou art Christ the Son of the Living God.” (Illustrating) Jesus said, all of you have tried when you say I am Jeremiah, Elijah. I am not far from them because we are all in the ministry, we are all spiritual. Church Gist. But this is the only one that got it with accuracy and my Father in Heaven gave him light and because of that light I set you apart and I move you to a higher pedestal – “thou art Peter and upon this revelation, this rock, I will build my Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail…” Light will set you apart; step you up in life, destiny, ministry.
– I announce to you today, by the light you are receiving God is setting you apart from your contemporaries!
Paul the Apostle that I mentioned earlier on, he went far ahead of his generation by light. 1 Corinthians 15:9-10. 2 Peter 3:15. He had revelations that were difficult even for the other apostles to understand. That was light. Light caused him to escape his past. Church Gist. He was a murderer who became an apostle. Light caused him to step further than his contemporaries. Light caused him to escape the limitations of his life and destiny.
I like you to understand the dynamics of light. I sat with an aircraft engineer one day. I told him to tell me what makes an airplane fly. He said to me that for an airplane to fly there are four forces that come into play. There is the force that is called the thrust that pushes the aircraft forward, there is another force called the lift that lifts it up. The thrust is making it to go forward to fly, the lift is making it to change altitude to thousands of feet above the ground. He said but these two forces are counteracted by two other forces. Church Gist. The third force is the force called the drag, that tries to drag it back. The wind and other forces like that, that pushes it backwards. The fourth force is gravity. It is responsible for the weight. It wants to oppose the lift so it stays on the ground. For flight to happen, thrust must overcome drag and lift must overcome gravity. By the time the thrust has overcome the drag and the lift has overcome the gravity, the atmospheric and earthly forces trying to hold it back, then it has flown. Nothing can stop it.
That is what is about to happen to you tonight. There is a level of light that is going to come on you. I see gravity like generational factors, the earthly factors, the powers of your father’s house, the constant factors that stop others. That limits others, that makes others not to reach where they are meant to reach in life. Those factors. But when light comes and light begins to power the flight, then all of a sudden, you escape what stops others in your father’s house. You escape what stops others in your lineage. What stops others in your community, you escape it. All the limiting factors of Urhobo land, in Isoko land. All the limiting factors of Itsekiri land. Church Gist. All the limiting factors in the Ijaw Kingdom that are making people not to be what they are meant to be spiritually. All the limiting powers of the waters that are bringing backwardness in the midst of abundance. I prophesy that you shall escape.
– You have escaped.
– Your family has escaped.
– You are escaping.
On your marks, get set, fly! Take off! Escape the limitations of your father’s house, of your community, of your generation.
– You will not be stranded like others have been stranded.
– You will not be limited like others have been limited.
– You will not be grounded like others have been grounded.
6. Light is fuel for health.
I just said just now that there are health conditions where sunlight is needed. There are some conditions like hyperbilirubinemia. In the case of jaundice, you put the child in ultraviolet rays in the hospital and also in the sunlight. 10am sunlight in order to bring down excess bilirubin in the blood, to prevent the child from becoming an imbecile. We didn’t go to school in vain, I am a medical doctor and my wife also is a doctor. We are not wasting our lives. Church Gist. To prevent that child from becoming an imbecile later and the toxicity of that bilirubin that makes the eyes yellow. The sunlight can do that. Can you imagine that? Ordinary sunlight that you take for granted is contributing to the life of a child. Psalm 89:15. The countenance of God carries light. Psalm 42:11. This guy was suffering from depression, melancholy and other things. That light of His countenance gives health. That was the light that was shone upon Moses and Moses became an old man and He was not sick. Exodus 34:29. Moses hung around the light of God’s countenance for forty days and his face was shining but that was not the only thing he achieved. Deuteronomy 34:7. Whatever Moses was doing at the age of 40, he was doing at the age of 120. He was still jumping, he was still dancing. If Jesus tarries to come and we are 120, we will still be dancing. He connected light from God. The light of His presence saturated Moses, it penetrated and infiltrated him, it embodied his body until it was impossible for that body to be weak.
The light of His countenance, even the light of His Word is key to health. Psalm 107:20. How many of you know that despite all that Paul the Apostle suffered, he died as ‘Paul the aged.’ Paul told them one time that he has the desire to die but he will remain with them. Church Gist. For to live is Christ and to die is gain. Philemon 1:9. Despite all the persecutions, the light inside Paul was too much for him to be cut short. He just surrendered himself to persecution. They couldn’t cut him short. Today, you are seeing light right now.
– I pronounce to you that every trace of the spirit of death looking for you is arrested right now.
– Every ancestral disease, generational disease, disease of hypertension and diabetes that affects your lineage, every cancer of the prostate, cancer of the breast and cancer of the ovaries, every peptic ulcer, it affected somebody else in your family and it is trying to affect you, I declare it is arrested.
– Tonight is your night, you are going to get the strength, the might, the flight and the health.
– Every night of your life is being arrested.
What is the way of light? If light is responsible for sight, handles the night, fuels my faith, grants me might and strength, it is key to flight and my health. What is the way of light?
1. It is the way of camping in God’s presence.
1 John 1:5. God is light. Revelation 21:23. No sunlight in heaven, no moonlight, there is one light – God Himself lighteth heaven. No daylight, no nighttime, just the Lord. It is an endless day. Day – night rhythm over, sun and moon rhythm over. It is an endless day. Church Gist. A city of endless day. Cloudless stars, except if it is fanciful clouds. When you stay in the presence of God, He will lighten you up. He will lighten you from His nature.
Something from him will step into you. Whenever the forces of darkness sight you, they think they have seen God. You know, for with you is the fountain of life and in thy light, they shall see light. When stone is inside grass for a long time, it becomes grey, it grows rust, turns grey that you won’t identify that it was a stone. When you put a six inches nail in the magnetic field of a magnet, this speaker right now, when you remove the woofer now it has a big magnet, when you put that nail that’s the six inches nail, after a while once you remove it and you take a needle near the nail, if you take office pin near the nail, it would pull the office pin, Why? By being in the magnetic field of a major magnet, it acquired magnetic capacity. Are you hearing what I’m saying here. Church Gist…and it became magnetic itself, so that when the needle saw it, it thought it was seeing a magnet, when the office pin saw it, it thought it was seeing a magnet. That is what happens to you when you hang around the presence of the Elshaddai, the I am that I am, the Rose of Sharon, the Lily of the valley. There’s something from him that steps into you that until when the devil sees you, he thought he was seeing your maker. I have seen situations where demons and demonic agents see me and they went on their kneels, of their own accord, mad people. This has happened about four five times, One of those time it was in front of my car that they went on their kneels. I wasn’t there but they saw something on the car that was left behind by the occupant of the car. Our major challenge is that we are too addicted to the presence of people. We are too addicted to the presence of human beings and allergic to the presence of God. One hour service, people are looking at time, but they can watch television for 3 hours, they can do one hair style for 6 hours. Is that true? Half a day but it is difficult for them to just take one hour in God’s presence, two hours in worship, not to talk of three hours.
Who you hang around with determines what would hang on you. The chameleon became green because it was in a green environment. It became yellow because it was in a yellow environment. Who you hang around with will determine what will hang on you. We have become a generation of people who are strangers to God, we know church, we know ourselves but we don’t know God…and it is time to say Lord I want to camp with you. Church Gist. The way of camping with God, that way, take it, take time. Is there anything that forbids you from taking one day off work and say today I want to be in with God, you are listening to messages and messages and worship and worship…and praying and praying and praying, you step out of that place to the detriment of the devil, you step out of that place to the detriment of the forces of darkness, you step out of that place as mobile light and as you are coming, darkness is just running. The way of camping in the presence of God.
I use to tell people that say I’ve been waiting to see you for 3 hours, I’ve been waiting to see you for 6 hours, I’ve been waiting to see you for how many hours? I say I wish you will take that 3 hours and wait on God one day. Take that 6 hours, take that 12 hours and just pray endlessly and see life turn around. I am not against you seeing me but I want your preference to be God. Church Gist. Seek God more than man. The God of the man is more important than the man of God. Don’t ever forget it, the God of the man, the God of the man is far more important than the man of God, far more a zillion times. Take your seat.
2. It is the way of insight in the word, insight in the word.
Someone say a loud Amen. Praise the Lord. It’s the way of insight in the word and when I say word insight, I’m actually talking about word inside. Word insight is actually word inside, not word outside. Word that enters. The entrance, not the listening to the word, not the hearing of preaching, the entrance of thy word. Psalms 119:130! The entrance of the word. Word insight is word inside. He said the Lord sent a word Isaiah 9:8 into Jacob, not unto Jacob not towards Jacob, into. No matter how much word you have heard, if it has not entered it would not produce light. If it has not entered, make e enter well well, make e sit down for inside, make e kak for inside, e kak for inside. Church Gist. Hallelujah, take your seat. Am I communicating at all? I dey talk, you dey hear wetin I dey talk, I overtalk self. Listen to this, whenever the little child takes grain like corn and they swallow it, when they go to the toilet, what do you see? It just comes out directly, because it didn’t enter, e just pass, e just waka pass. Are you hearing what I’m saying here, so it doesn’t produce anything, it changes nothing it was not just digested and at the end of the day, you’ll have this child having protein energy malnutrition, the hair is fluffy, the skin is peeling, the tummy is bloated, he’s cry cry baby, just dey carry cry, you pass he will cry, you wave the baby, see everything make am cry. Do you understand what I’m saying, that is how some Christians are.
Listen to this, if it enters, your body must feel it. Your life must feel it. This man here is a miracle, come, do you have the picture of how your face were? This man had an affliction that was like crocodile skin, the devil afflicted him and if you see the face you won’t believe it, he came all the way to Abuja, hands were laid on him. Church Gist. That devil was checked out and his skin cleared. I’m just looking at his face now, it’s a shock. Whether it was a combination of leprosy or some terrible witchcraft, alligator skin or something, it was bad, Congratulations. Father thank you, that same way, God is changing someone’s life here today.
Everybody stand on your feet, let me say this finally, everyone who is under the spell of alcoholism, sapele water, ogofe, today I declare the hold of it broken. Let me tell you what I told them in Uyo yesterday, if somebody pass besides where they are selling beer and he smell the smell, can it change his behavior? Will he misyarn? No, the man has to seat down and the thing enter, once it enters, his behavior changes, his language changes, his body changes that is when you know something has entered. Church Gist. If the word of God enters you, It must change your life, it must change your behavior. If you were a fearful, timid person before all of a sudden you saw something that makes you Lionize, it just ruggedizes you. What you used to fear begins to fear you, because you saw something that entered and changed your behavior. Remain standing, the same Pharaoh that Moses ran from, after God spoke to him and something entered Moses, he went back to the same Pharaoh and said I have come to you, Pharaoh cleaned his eyes and said who am I seeing but the person he knew before is different now. I encountered something and it entered. Don’t just read the Bible, don’t just listen to the word, read so tai it enter. Seat down. Let your behavior change, let your steps change, let your action change, let it influence the audacity of your talk. Something like the witch that can kill me before my time, dey never born am. There’s something you will see from the word, there’s something you’ll see in God that will make you talk like that.
Remain standing everybody. You know our challenge is that there is too many, too much other thing that we have permitted to enter us, too much social media, too much garbage novel, too much rubbish movie, just entered, you see yourself afraid for nothing because you watched a movie where everybody in one family was killed by a witch…and the witch was even boasting and even bragging that anybody who rise I kill the person and that was where the movie ended. Church Gist. What a yeye movie, incomplete, the triumph of the wicked cannot be the conclusion of the story. That Goliath succeeded is bad news, yeye movie. Jezebel came scattered the family and movie ended, no that Jezebel must see her reward inside the movie, e must get part 2. Are you following what I’m saying here today, we are filled with so many things that we neutralize the effect of the word, so we don’t have enough authority and sagacity and capacity and ferocity and ruggedity and lionity. Tonight I see somebody’s behavior changing, somebody’s language changing, e don change already. Lift your hands and your voice and begin to appreciate God for what you heard tonight.
