– The Lord will give grace and glory today and from this hour onward, no one shall remain helpless.

We can’t glide over the acts of God at Covenant University. We can’t. We will be ingrates doing so. What have we done to merit all that we are seeing? We just came up yesterday. Universities have been forever in Africa. Nigeria has been there for over 60 years. When did we come? Who is making it happen? God! We are talking about global ranking, not local ranking. On top of all Federal, State and Private universities, how? God! If you don’t give God thanks for one, you never arrive at two. Church Gist. All things may not be working right now for someone here but give God thanks for what is working then He will enlarge it. Thank God for keeping Covenant University on top over the years without stress or strain, for giving Himself a name. Thank God for what He is doing at Covenant University to prove that it is His own.
I like us to position ourselves for God’s agenda for the month. I WILL NOT LEAVE YOU HELPLESS. That is what the Spirit is saying. Church Gist. No one ever runs out of His help anymore. Whether in your sleep in the night, as you go about your daily business, no one here shall run out of His help.
Lord Jesus, thank you again for the privilege of entering into a new month. Let the blessings loaded in this month locate every one of us in the name of Jesus. Let no one lack access to encounters that open new chapters this month in the name of Jesus. Church Gist. Let each one standing today on the line for miracle children return with their miracles. Let everyone who has been going through dry seasons in life step into a new phase of life. Take all the glory in Jesus’ name.
Our anchor scripture for the theme of the month is John 14:16-18. He is our source of all-round help. Psalm 46:1-4. The very present help in trouble. John 7:38. So He is our very present help in trouble. John 14:17. He shall be in you, you can’t forget Him at home. He is in you. Wherever you are found your help is there. He is on the inside of you. John 16:7, 7:37-39. Church Gist. There is a river of God that makes the city of God glad. Psalm 45:7. Ever present wherever you are, in the midst of the storms of life, the boat is rocking, the flight has lost its wings, my help is there. That is why every believer needs to be filled with the Holy Ghost. His presence is registered as He gives utterance in other tongues. That is what signals His arrival.
Everybody needs this help. Your parents can’t be there in our hour of trouble. Even though you and your wife are one, you are going to be there alone. Attack in the night does not bother who sleeps by your side. Church Gist. Psalm 46:1. Very present Help in times of trouble, His name is the Holy Ghost. It is not speaking in tongues, He is a person. John 14:17. Watch out for Him.
Our teaching series for our Sunday Services of the Month is captioned UNDERSTANDING THE MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. What has He come to offer? What does He carry for us? 1 Corinthians 12:1-7. His mission is to make living profitable for the redeemed through His diverse operations and gifts. We would not have succeeded in penetrating this forest of evil without Him. Church Gist. It is absolutely impossible. Not by power, not by might but by the Spirit. Zechariah 4:6. Our golden destiny is impossible to realize without the Holy Ghost. Zechariah 4:1-6. Our golden destiny can never be realized without the diverse operations of the Holy Ghost.
When Covenant University opened, we had our usual celebration in church. We danced from the gate of the university to the roundabout and came back to the gate. The Lord said… When you say the Lord said, it is the Holy Spirit speaking. He will not speak of Himself. He said hand it over to me. I said how? He said lay flat on the floor. A number of us were there. I laid flat on the floor with my brand new shirt. Hand it over to me and I will take it over. He took it over from then. Church Gist. We have no feelings of running the university. We never ran around for enrollment. We became an award-winning university almost from the beginning. We still produce the most employable graduates in Nigeria. He took it over. Why? He took it over. The helper came. Do you want me to take over? Lay down here my friend. You never hear that you are carrying it on your head. You will be sweating day and night. I never knew when they paid, how they paid from the beginning. We have never taken an offering in this church on how to help Covenant University run. You have struggled enough, you need the helper. You need the helper to come your way and dictate your steps in life.
So it is not a religious emblem or charismatic identity, He is your only reliable and dependable ever-present helper. I literally took dictations from Him on the main structures of that university. Our Core Values can only be copied by others. We didn’t copy from anybody. Our Founding Philosophy came down directly from the Owner. You better wake up. You have struggled enough. Church Gist. There is a limit to where you and I can go. You can’t accomplish a golden destiny in the energy of the flesh. We need Him. May this Helper come alive in every one of us today. May we never ignore the help of this Helper in the name of Jesus.
What most believers know about the Holy Ghost today is power but that is only one of the seven spirits of God that rested upon Christ which includes: The Spirit of the Lord – that implies the anointing or power, it is only one out of the seven spirits that were upon Christ. In Isaiah 11, there are seven of them listed and the first one is empowerment. Church Gist. He went on to list the six others which include knowledge, wisdom, counsel, understanding, might and the fear of the Lord which implies the Spirit of holiness. Power is only one of the seven and that is all we are running around with. That is why we call Him the Spirit of grace. One is power, six are diverse grace. The Lord will give grace and glory. Power helps us to overcome the battles of life and grace helps us to realize the glory package of redemption. So we have empowerment and engracement. The two must be brought together. Engracement is what gives you your place of honour and dignity, your enviable lifestyle on the earth. One can be anointed to cast out devils and walk over the heads of principalities and powers. You need revelation for a change of story. Church Gist. You need wisdom to be enthroned, you need counsel not to miss your steps and you need spiritual understanding for outstanding results. You need the fear of the Lord to preserve your results. People talk about power, that is okay. Luke 10:19. Grace comes in to enlarge our knowledge of God, enhance our spiritual understanding, inbuild us with wisdom, gives us access to auto counsel when we are at a crossroad and then offer strength that guarantees exploits (The Spirit of Might). He is the Spirit of empowerment and engracement. Empowerment is one of seven, engracement is six of seven.
It is grace that makes great in the Kingdom. Paul said, “I am what I am by the grace of God”. It is grace that makes great not power. Power guarantees victory, grace secures glory. We need a revelation of what the Holy Ghost offers. For instance, our inheritance in Christ is inaccessible without revelation. They are ours but we can’t access them. Acts 20:32. 2 Peter 1:3. Isaiah 5:13. Some are running around the entire world today and returning with nothing. Church Gist. They just lack the knowledge, the revelation of where they ought to be and what they are to be doing. He is our Helper. A most dependable Helper in the race of life. My prayer today is that each one will embrace the ministry of this Master Helper and cease from the struggles of life.
Just to corroborate what we saw in Isaiah 11:1-2, the listing of the seven spirits of God. Revelation 5:6. The seven Spirits of God were carried by the Lamb. Isaiah prophesied it, Revelation confirmed it. Of that seven, one is power and six are diverse grace. I know in this end time God shall be unleashing these diversities of grace upon His people. Because the end time Church is ordained a reigning Church, a ruling Church, an enviable Church. Church Gist. The world will look for solutions in the Church. I am telling you. This is not about election or no election. They will come and say “Teach us His ways. It is working for you, we want to know how it is working for you”. Somebody was chatting on the system and he said “You better put behind your age, go to Covenant University and learn what it is.” They are all academics, they are speaking from their own platforms. Go and learn how they do it my friend. So it is not about age, the world will come knocking at your door asking for the way to go. Micah 4:1-2. Let’s put pride aside. These people know what they are doing, let’s find out how they are doing. They looked for Joseph, they will look for you. Your degree is irrelevant. We are talking about superlative wisdom, we are talking about the wisdom from above. It is the highest realm of insight anybody can ever have. It is your turn.
I think that shift is just enough to go home with. That we are moving from the realm of empowerment to the realm of engracement. Maybe that is why the enemy came in to begin to bastardize the word ‘grace’. They said grace means just walking around, feeling free and doing nothing. Engracement makes you responsible. Church Gist. It helps you to maximize the joy of living and makes your living profitable. Psalm 84:11. Grace and glory is like hands in gloves. Isaiah 61:7. For your shame you shall have glory. It is a new day for us.
The Holy Ghost is the source of multi-faceted engracement that enable believers to fulfil their glorious destiny in Christ. Hebrews 10:29. Six out of the seven that rested upon Christ are engracement of access to the deep things of God. Church Gist. Engracement of access to spiritual understanding, to the wisdom from on High, to the Spirit of might, to the Spirit of holiness. May that grace become visible in everyone’s life from henceforth.
Why do we need the Holy Spirit? I mentioned that He is our very ever-present help in times of trouble. We look at today for the brief time we have, the Spirit of revelation. That is the first one. Remember we are exploring the ministries of the Holy Ghost. In the Kingdom of God, we are only empowered for a flight by light, not by strength or skill. Isaiah 60.1. Light here does not imply electric bulbs, fluorescent or flood light. The entrance of thy Word giveth light. Entrance connotes understanding. Psalm 119:105. Isaiah 60:2-3,8. It is by light that we are empowered for a flight. The fastest car can never compare with the smallest aircraft going from here to Ibadan. It will still be in hold up at Maryland when the flight has arrived. Church Gist. A 500 million car cannot compare in speed with the worst aircraft from here to Kaduna, that is if it gets there. We are empowered for a flight by light. Isaiah 60:15, 22. Flight! There are people and there are nations. I see this assembly birthing human nations. It is our birthright. Genesis 17:5-6. It is by light that we realize this Abrahamic covenant that makes nations of men and kings of peasants. The Holy Ghost is our master access to light. Acts 3:19. You have to repent and be converted to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost who reveals things to us. 1 Corinthians 2:10. The deeper our insights, the higher heights we scale in life.
The Lord said to me forty-two years ago, “You don’t need to know any man to scale the utmost heights, just know me.” Daniel 11:32. From that day my eyes went off every mortal man. 42 years ago. Deep insights engender flight. Who did we know to get Canaanland property? Do we know Local Chiefs? No. High Chiefs? No! Olota of Ota? No! People have just lost their identity, they have been sentenced to the natural. Church Gist. People we know are temporal, God is eternal. Every man is limited, God is unlimited. When the everlasting hand of God picks you up, He takes you to everlasting heights. Allow Him to take you up. Revelation is what enlarges our platform for a flight. It is your turn to fly. You have struggled enough on your feet walking around the marketplaces. It is time to step into a flight. Isaiah 58:8. You are on a flight with light. My prayer is that you will never be found under circumstances again but above circumstances, because that is where you belong.
What is Revelation? It is being able to see what God is saying in His Word. The Ethiopian Eunuch was reading Isaiah 53, Philip came and asked him “Understandest thou what thou readest?” He was reading but he didn’t understand it. Church Gist. Suddenly his understanding opened up. Acts 8:28-37. Understanding stirs faith, it provokes faith. Ephesians 1:18. He enlightens us to know what God is saying. To understand what God is saying. That is why we need Him. John 16:13.
How do we access the flow of revelation?
1. One must be born again. Mark 4:11.
2. One must be filled with the Holy Spirit. John 14:26. He is our ingenuous helper. He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance whatever you have heard of me. That is His mission. That is why we are limited without Him. You can study five different editions of the Bible, it won’t make a difference. Church Gist. You can put all the translations, both the ones done by unbelievers and the ones done by cultists and be trying to know the voice of God. It is by that which the Holy Ghost teaches, comparing spiritual to spiritual. Everything the Holy Ghost opens up, He connects, He interworks, He networks scriptures to bring out the product. Somebody’s story is changing. I see many Josephs and Daniels arising from this assembly.
3. Access to the flow of revelation.
One must pray for access to the flow of revelation. Colossians 1:9. Jeremiah 33:3, Ephesians 1:18-19. Luke 11:3. We pray for the Holy Ghost, the illuminator, the master teacher, the master revelator to come to our aid. The Word will come to you like daily news, as you put your eyes in the Word you find every letter speaking to you, to make living profitable and enviable for us. Church Gist. 1 Corinthians 2:12-14. You can only spiritually uncover the truth of scriptures not by the energy of the flesh. It is also important for us to know that the Holy Ghost is the messenger of the covenant who unveils to us the tables of the covenant to the believer. Malachi 3:1-3. He is the messenger of the covenant that unveils the table of the covenant as it affects every area of our life. He is behind the veil, only Him can bring us in. Hebrews 9:1-4.
For instance, you can pray for success from now till forever it will never happen, there are things that must be in place for you to taste success. First, have a direction for your life. Second, learn how to get at your goal haven found your direction. Then discipline yourself to get there. Give it the best you have got and go beyond your best, they call it sacrifice. Then success cannot be robbed you. You can fast for one hundred years, it won’t make a difference. Church Gist. The covenant demands that if you want success, this is what to do. Ecclesiastes 10:5-18. You can’t get it without doing it. You can’t wake up at 10am in the morning. You are saying “Poverty and failure, here am I. We are partners.” It won’t work.
You can pray from now till eternity for prosperity, you never taste it without being a giver. If you are not a delightsome giver, an honourable giver, not a leftover giver. 41 years back, I have never lacked, I have never begged, I have never stolen. You better understand the covenant. The tables of the Covenant are by the revelation of the Holy Ghost. Some young folks who are saying around town that you don’t need to pay tithe, they have never seen it. They are under stress, they have never seen it. When I was earning #140, I didn’t beg. #300, I didn’t beg and I didn’t borrow. Church Gist. I have never kept your church money in my house in my life so I can’t be tempted to touch it. The tables of the covenant are for our decoration when you lay hold of it and you touch it. It is not about grammar, it is about proofs. When God revealed to me what to do to grow a church, we have been doing it since 1984. Four cogent secrets of church growth. They are open secrets, every kingdom secret is an open secret. It is not a cult. Until it is given to you, even when they tell you, you won’t understand it. So we need Him to understand the things of the Spirit.
42 years ago I found the covenant of hitch free marriage, I declared that I was set for hitch free marriage and it has been hitch free till tomorrow. Just find it and buy into it. He said buy the truth and sell it not. Church Gist. Don’t just write the truth, buy the truth. Proverbs 23:23. Buy into every truth revealed, if you want the value made manifest. Buy into it, don’t just write it down. Don’t just go about preaching it. Buy into it.
The degree of revelation in which we walk is what determines the degree of glory we command. Glory is in degrees. 2 Corinthians 3:18. Our access to revelation is our access to the realm of dominion because the dominion of light over darkness is instant and unquestionable. Whenever light steps in, darkness steps out. No argument, no noise. You turn on the light in your room, darkness disappears without arguing. Church Gist. No tussle. When light comes, when you are illuminated, you arrive at a place and all devils take cover. “Have you come to destroy us before the time?” That is the light of the world, Jesus Himself. He steps into a place and all devils start crying “Don’t torment us please”. Luke 4:34. Light establishes our dominion in a world of darkness. Light! That is how much power is in the light of scriptures, it dispels all forms of darkness. That puts you on top of them. Any day, any time. Luke 4:33-36. That is the impact of light. When we move from revelation to illumination, you get to a place and you take over the environment. The environment surrenders. Somebody is moving forward.
To keep growing in revelation, we must keep engaging the truth already revealed to qualify for more. Luke 6:47-49. It is doing it that makes it work, it is not just knowing it. Church Gist. What we know does not change us, it is what we do with what we know that does. May each one here be alive to these kingdom realities in the name of Jesus.
Today is our Covenant Day of Fruitfulness. When one is born again, he becomes a seed of Abraham and a partaker of the blessings of Abraham. Galatians 3:14. After being born again, you become uncursable. Every curse of devils behind anyone’s barrenness today is declared broken. As seeds of Abraham, we are redeemed to be fruitful. Deuteronomy 7:14. Church Gist. Every seed of Abraham is redeemed to be fruitful. Galatians 3:29. It is not your ambition to be fruitful, it is your birthright to be fruitful. It is your covenant right to be fruitful. I decree supernatural fruitfulness upon everyone in this service in all aspects of your life.
We have been redeemed from the curse of barrenness. Deuteronomy 28:18. That tells you that fruitfulness does not just have to do with your body, it has to do with the things you do, the works of your hands. Church Gist. So it is a curse for our body to be fruitless, it is a curse for our career to be fruitless. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law. Every trace of the curse of barrenness in any aspect of anyone’s life is finally over today.
What does it take to actualise our fruitfulness right?
Among others, serving God empowers the redeemed to be fruitful. Exodus 23:25-26. Serving God guarantees the fruitfulness of the redeemed. Psalm 127:3. I command every closed womb reading this, be opened in the name of Jesus. This ground is a most fruitful hill. We have seen all kinds by the hand of God in this place. Someone after 40 years of waiting, gave birth supernaturally without knowing she was pregnant. She said she was feeling something and the husband said she should exercise more because she was adding weight. Church Gist. By the time she got to know, they were about to deliver. God hid the pregnancy from the wickedness of the wicked. She delivered that child hale and hearty. We have heard a testimony here of a 69 year old that gave birth for the first time. God still does it today, He does it forever. There is no closed case with God. Doctors abroad tagged a file as ‘inexplainable infertility’ that is Cased Closed, we can’t go any further. Jesus came and opened that womb and we heard the testimony here. Today, your testimony is next. Everyone whose understanding has opened to the Word of Light that you are reading now, you are returning in nine months with your fruits in your hand. Any resistance from hell will be visited with judgement. Any opposition of devils will be visited with judgement.
That implies, no medical or biological reason is enough to make a covenant child fruitless. Today, I decree your instant supernatural fruitfulness in the name of Jesus. As long as we remain planted in the house of God, we are ordained to continue to bear fruit even up to our old age. Your latter end will not be worse than your beginning. Church Gist. Your latter end shall be far more glorious than your beginning. Psalm 92:14. Fruitfulness till old age, health is still working till old age. Spiritual life is still working till old age, business and career are still working till old age. Psalm 91:12-15, that is your lot.
Joy is required to secure rewards from our labour. Stay joyful, don’t destroy your harvest. Joel 1:12. Stay joyful. Psalm 67:5-7. Stay joyful, stay praiseful, your harvest is sure. Stay joyful in your stewardship. Stay joyful in your pursuit of God. Your future is sure. Church Gist. Who can tell today that this Church was once 4 people and then 6 people and then 10 and then 12, and then 20? By July 1984, we hit 90 and we danced like jackals. Heaven came down. Not 1924, 1984. Just keep pursuing God with joyfulness and gladness of heart, your future is great.
For those on the line for miracle babies remember your father is the only baby maker, so you can’t afford to remain a baby beggar. In the name of Jesus, every siege of physical barrenness in the life of anyone reading this is declared finally over today. Church Gist. I also decree supernatural turnaround for every area of barrenness in everyone’s life in this service. The God of signs and wonders will do it for you.
Christ is our ‘Weep Not’ Saviour. His mission is to wipe away tears from all faces. He met that woman going to bury her only son and she was a widow. He told her “Weep Not, I am here” and the mission is to wipe away tears from all faces. He touched the coffin and the dead came back to life. He stopped the tears of that woman. Jesus will stop everyone’s secret tears in this service. Church Gist. He said to them in Jarius’ house “Why are you weeping? she is just asleep, she is not dead.” They laughed at him to scorn but Jesus wiped away their tears as that young girl came back to life. Jesus wiped away their tears. Jesus is also wiping your tears today. Church Gist. Every form of weeping behind closed doors comes to an end today. Because Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever, Today, He shall be wiping off every form of secret tears of barrenness from his people in this service.
Isaiah 25:6-8.
– No one will ask you again “Where is your God?”
– Every aspect of your life shall begin to command envy.
– No one will have any reason to pity you anymore.
– With the help of the Holy Ghost, you will always know the right step to take.

As a seed of Abraham, fruitfulness is your covenant right. As you keep serving the Lord, He cannot deny Himself. The fruitfulness of the body is your reward. He blesses you with good health, to bless you with fruitfulness and long life.

– Let everyone called barren here be turned into fruitful mothers of children.
– Let every barren home have children surround their tables.
– I decree supernatural fruitfulness on everything that pertains to you. Church Gist.
– Your spiritual life is declared fruitful, the works of your hands are declared fruitful. Your family life is declared fruitful.
– I decree that from today, you will no longer know the dry season in your life.
– I decree that you begin to flourish like a palm tree from this day onward.
– In the precious name of Jesus, a new day dawns on your life.
– I decree delivery of your fruitful package today.
– For everyone called barren within the next four weeks, you are confirmed pregnant.
– I decree a fruitful turnaround for everyone’s endeavour beginning from now.
– News of change of story will start coming your way. News of change of level will start coming your way.
Whenever your cloud is full, God will always show up.
– I decree the rising of many stars in this assembly.
– Be blessed.
– Beginning from now, everything will start working in your favour.
