I want to preach from John 11. If you are going to consider what happened here a miracle service because a miracle happened there, you have to understand that Jesus preached the most unusual sermons at a miracle service. There are things you expect to hear at a miracle service, maybe the power in the name of Jesus or the power in the Holy Spirit or how to use your faith. Church Gist. You are right in front of the tomb of someone who just died, surrounded by his siblings who loved him very much and then of all things to preach about, Jesus began to talk about the rapture. Here they are talking about their brother who had died, they wanted a resurrection, the resurrection of their brother and Jesus said, ‘I am the resurrection and not just of your brother but of all who believe and not now but at the second coming’, ‘Jesus, what are you talking about? Why are you making this about that?’ Well, it is about that. Don’t you understand that every miracle is predicated on first and foremost, the ultimate offering of God which is salvation. This is important, that Jesus is the resurrection and the life. Implicitly, this is what Jesus was telling them, ‘if your brother is resurrected, he will die again, but you see, when I come at the second coming, all who believe in me will live and never die’. That is the ultimate offering that even the most perfect body will still die. Thank God for healing, but healing is not eternal life. Thank God for deliverance, but deliverance is not eternal life. God has the ultimate to give you. Church Gist. ‘I am the resurrection and the life’ He says, ‘He that believes in me, though he dies, he will live again and he that believes in me will never die’ and then He said…what an unusual thing to say in a healing service. Normally, He should say, ‘Do you believe that God is able to heal you? But then He said, ‘Do you believe that I am coming again as the resurrection and the life?’ and she said, ‘I believe’.
Placing your faith in Him for salvation, that’s the ultimate. You have to understand the goal of Celebration Church is ultimately to bring you into a vital relationship with this Jesus. We are not here to use Jesus. You can’t pretend to Him. Church Gist. The Bible tells us of that Syrophoenician woman, as she followed Him, she must have heard how the Jews called Jesus so she pretended to be a Jew. Sometimes, because you are wearing your Sunday best, surrounded by believers, you pretend to be one and so she’s saying, ‘Jesus, Son of David’ as if she belonged to that lineage and so when Jesus gave an unusual response and said, ‘It is not meet for me to give the Children’s bread to the dogs’ He was telling her I know you’re not of that lineage and then in a moment of honesty, someone else would have been offended and would have said, ‘What do you mean’ but there are some people who are honest enough to say ‘Lord, I acknowledge my mess, I know you can change it’ and so she said, ‘Well, even dogs have access to crumbs that fall from the table’ and Jesus said, ‘I have not seen such faith, no, not in Israel’ and I think one of the things that is remarkable about that faith is that it did not pretend. ‘God, I want to have a relationship with you. I am not where I ought to be, help me. I might have been foolish pretending to be who I’m not. Well, this is me. But even dogs have access to the crumbs from the table’ and Jesus said, ‘I have not seen such faith, no, not in Israel’. So many things to draw from that but all I’m saying is don’t pretend to be who you’re not.
The Bible says in John 2 that all men came to Jesus but Jesus knew all men and He did not need that any should testify of man. People pretend when they are desperate but if you are here to use Jesus, He knows and every true minister of the gospel knows that the ultimate win is not for so many people to come to Church for a miracle service as great as that is, is for every single one of them to have a personal relationship with Jesus. Church Gist. I know you’ve heard it from different centuries, but I want to tell you that Jesus is coming soon and even if you don’t agree with that at least know this for a fact, even if He doesn’t meet you, you will meet Him…and not everybody who died yesterday knew they will die yesterday. Today is the day of deliverance…and that’s why I like that testimony of two Muslim girls getting saved and being full of the Spirit and from what they described you could tell demons were expelled from them, just by a live stream. I want to beg you, don’t commercialize Christianity in such a way that your life is full of contradictions but you come praying profusely to a God you don’t like, to a God you’re not interested in. Church Gist. Miracles aside, if you receive that financial breakthrough now, are we going to see you next week? and you know what the irony is? When you come to a point of consecration and self abandonment, when you begin to seek God and only God above all things the Bible says, ‘All these things shall be added unto you’ It’s a spiritual paradox that there is he that gathers and yet has nothing and there is he that scatters and has plenty. Matthew 6:33. Don’t make an idol of your pain…and this is one of the simple ways to know if you have made an idol of your pain, if you have made God’s intervention in that pain a condition for your continuous faithfulness, that pain has become your God. It might seem like the most sincere thing, you are giving God an ultimatum. Make no mistakes, miracles will be plenty here but I’m saying there is something more than gold, something bigger and Jesus may give bread but Jesus is Bread. He is satisfaction in and of itself. He wants you to know Him, He wants you to fall in love with Him, He wants to be Lord over your life and every freedom void of His supervision and Lordship is bondage, you are imprisoned.
Please, believe in Jesus today, I beg you. You may not have as much time as you think, the Lord asked me to tell you this.
It doesn’t really matter what your perspective of a ministry like Mountain of Fire and Miracles may be, but one thing I appreciate about them is that they emphasize in the Body of Christ what they call ‘Do it yourself’, the fact that it doesn’t matter how loving your pastor is and how committed to your life he is, if the Church is sizeable, the pastor cannot possibly be there for every individual and so every individual must realize that they are a priest, they have priesthood. They have a responsibility to insist on the will of God in their lives…and so that ministry will hand you a book of well crafted prayers and say ‘Go and pray your way out of pain, pray your way out of bondage’ Church Gist. You can have debates about how Christocentric the prayer points are, but one thing is sure, it’s a real thing to take responsibility for your own destiny. Jesus said the same thing. He said, ‘If you say unto this mountain’ The traditional Christian is hoping that God would move mountains for them but Jesus is telling you ‘Say to the mountains!’ The average Christian is saying ‘God, do something about the mountain’ and God is saying ‘Do something about it, say to the mountain, be removed and be thou cast into the sea and don’t doubt in your heart. You shall have what you say’ Please, are you ready to do that today? That because of you, because of your family, you will start a lineage of blessing.
There is something I’ve begun to notice, when you find two generations of people who followed God, there is an aura on their children. It is hard to explain. I saw it again in Abuja. I saw one young man and I said, ‘Your dad is a pastor, isn’t he?’ He said, ‘Yes’ There is something! Just the same way parents implicate their children by being involved in all manner of dark…I’ve seen things in this life. Please, for the sake of your children, know God. Don’t give them battles before they are born. Church Gist. There are some things I will tell you, some you may not believe and if I didn’t experience it myself it would be hard to believe. There was a lady in school, she was under so much oppression it affected her skin. She was darker than her normal complexion. Just imagine someone prays for you, cast out devils, then by evening she was lighter, evening of the same day. I saw her and screamed. I said, ‘What happened to you? You are light’ She said ‘Everybody has been saying the same thing’ I know what I am saying, the devil is wicked. He will take everything he can, take your peace, take your beauty and I’m not in any way saying that her skin…you’ve seen my wife right? Dark and beautiful, so don’t get me wrong. That spirit was causing some form of physical damage to her in a visible way. Take authority!
I was talking to a white man I think 3 weeks ago. White, billionaire, you know and everything…and we were talking Bible and I could tell that he has ….. I said, ‘I don’t have time for debate. I’m African, my reality is different from yours’. I said, “Someone came to my Church and told me…you know the funny thing is as the guy walked in, Pastor Shola was with me, I can’t remember…as the guy walked in, I pointed at the guy and said ‘There is a dark cloud over that guy’ and the way the prophetic works in my life there are some patterns. When the devil is persuading someone to do something bad, I’m not saying it works like that for everybody, but when I see a dark cloud, the person is in a valley of decision and usually…I don’t want to give you descriptions. So, I saw that, I tapped at Pastor Shola and said ‘Look at that guy, there is a dark cloud over him’ and sure enough after the service he came to me. He said, ‘I’ve been broke and I’m tired of being broke. My father does blood money. This is not guessing, he used 2 of my siblings and we know’. See, this Pastor’s work eh, I’ve seen things. It doesn’t matter your age, if you pastor for 2 years you are an adult. 2 years of proper pastoring, you’re ancient. The things I’ve seen…he said, ‘It’s not a secret, he used 2 of my siblings. He was poor, he used them, he became rich. This is not ‘argue on Twitter. Church Gist. I came to Church one last time to ask, can God make me a better bargain? This is what I have (blood money)’ I couldn’t believe my eyes. He came to ask one last time, he said, ‘What can God offer me?” When I told the white man he was shocked. I said ‘Guy, I never even tell you anything, you never see anything’
You know, I finished praying in Abuja on Wednesday casting out devils, in my sleep, fight continued. I woke up with my fists tight. In the dream I was holding a lizard, I woke up and said ‘Where these people dey go? Where una dey go? No dey give me work’ I woke up with tight fists. I said lizards, I mean those big ones, I don’t know what they are called, I was holding the neck. Church Gist. There are some people you pray for them like this, you continue at home. There was a lady I prayed for, the mother and the aunt visited me, true story. Don’t worry, I’m just giving you background so even if you don’t understand the prayer now, as long as it is not unbiblical, please just pray it from your heart.
