GOD IS GOING TO REVERSE THE IRREVERSIBLE AND WILL DO FOR YOU WHAT NOBODY CAN CONSIDER POSSIBLE SO THAT EVERYBODY WILL GLORIFY GOD!

Psalms 75:6-7.
– The Lord asked me to tell someone, He said, your level will change twice this year!
Promoted for a purpose – that’s our topic today. We will define our terms and then we will consider one or two specific cases.
To be promoted means to be lifted up from one level to a higher level by someone who has the authority to do so. That’s important – you can only be promoted by someone who has the authority to do so. I mean for example, if you’re a cashier in your place of work and then you get to work one day and the cleaner says, “ah, good morning. You’re hereby promoted to become Accountant,” and he himself is a cleaner, he can’t promote himself. Church Gist. If he says that you know he must be joking. But the Bible says, “there is a God who can promote,” and when God promotes you, you’re promoted. I serve a God who when he opens a door nobody can close it; when He says “yes” nobody can say, “no” when He says, up, nobody can say down.
– For somebody here today, beginning from this moment your journey will be upward!
When we talk about purpose, purpose simply means the reason behind the action. Why have you done this? What’s the reason behind your action? Revelation 4:11. Church Gist. Everything He does has only one purpose and that purpose was to make Him pleased. I decree to someone in the name that’s above every other name, the rest of your life will please God!
Let’s take some specific cases now that we understand the topic we are dealing with: when someone is sick and he is healed miraculously, that’s promotion because the sick fellow is down, the healed is up. Church Gist. For example in Mark 2:1-12.
– In the name that’s above every other name, a miracle is about to happen in your life that will bring glory to God!
In John 9:1-7, there was a man who was born blind and the disciples were asking the Lord, why was this man born blind? Was it because of his sins or the sin of his parents? The Lord said, no, it’s so that God can be glorified in him.
– For someone the Almighty God is going to reverse the irreversible; God will do what nobody can consider possible so that when you share your testimony everybody will glorify God!
You must have noticed by now particularly in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, when somebody is giving a testimony, “get away now let’s hear a big one.” (They may say). I mean, you heard the testimony of someone here who said, she was involved in a terrible accident, some people died, all she suffered was a broken bone and now, the broken bone had been healed, etc. Ehhh Congratulations – you were not excited because you have heard of somebody who died and just an handkerchief had raised him from the death. Church Gist. “Ehhhn, when you hear that you shout.” Somebody came this morning he said he married (I think) 14 years and now, God had given his family a baby. “Ehhh Congratulations.” But when somebody came and he said, “I was barren but look at me, 3 children.” Then you shouted. That kind of testimony that will cause people to shout, receive your own!
Why does He heal? Why does He cure the incurable? It has a purpose – Mark 1:40-45. When the leper was cleansed, nobody had to beg him to testify, he went everywhere testifying. Church Gist. God knew what he was doing.
– Someone is going to receive a miracle today, you will not be able to keep quiet!
When someone is in bondage, captured by forces of darkness and the Almighty God heals him, that’s promotion. Mark 5:2-20. The Bible tells us of the mad Man of Gadara; he was possessed by so many demons that he himself was living in the grave yard. But then one day the Almighty God came and gave him a very rapid promotion. The man who was mad, the man who nobody can tame, suddenly became sober, became well dressed. Church Gist. But then, when he now came to Jesus and said, thank you very much, I want to join those who are going with you. The Lord said, “no no, the reason I promoted you is that you will go and tell your people what God has done for you.” The Bible tells us that when the people came and saw what God had done and you know the result – many of their pigs drowned, they told Jesus Christ to leave. Jesus said, no problem, I’ve already got a witness here and planted. By the time Jesus returned, the Bible said they received him joyfully because of the testimony of the man who had been promoted out of darkness into light.
– There’s someone here today listening to me, because of the miracle you’re going to receive, Rivers State will receive the Lord.
I’m sure not all of you know the History of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Rivers State. Somebody was sick in Lagos, the driver brought her to the Church at the Headquarters. God healed her. She said, “is this how God does things?” So she told her sister and the sister was even sicker than herself. The sister came, gave her life to Jesus and was healed. The sister said, “okay, you’re not going to keep this one to Lagos; I’m taking this thing to Port Harcourt.” We came to Port Harcourt, she gave a house to start the Church. When that house was filled, she gave a second house. When that one was full, she gave a third house because she got healed. Church Gist. Today, look around you. There were many sick people in the land but God saw someone who is going to be grateful, God saw someone who is going to be a blessing to Rivers State. He gave her a miracle. Is there anybody here today who is going to be a blessing to everyone near and far, let me hear you shout halleluyah! Let me tell you that before you pray, God will answer.
Luke 8:1-3. The Bible talks of some women and mentioned a particular woman. She had 7 demons living in her – Mary Magdalene. She was a chief among witches; God drove all the demons out and you know what followed? She became a divine treasurer.
– I have good news for someone here today, you find it difficult to even pay your house rent, very soon I will come and dedicate your estate!
… because God is looking for treasurers. Is there anybody here who will love to be a treasurer to God? Church Gist. Say yes Lord I am here. I can assure you the one who says, “silver is mine, gold is mine” knows how to divert. Bible says he can take wealth from the wicked and give it to the Just.
– In the name that is above every other name, none of you ready to partner with God will die in poverty!
Genesis 12:1-3. When God decides to bless, it’s so that you can become a blessing. When He decides to prosper you, it’s so that you can use the prosperity to be a blessing to many. Church Gist. I believe God sent me here this morning to be brief just to tell you, promotion is coming your way but the promotion will be for a purpose and the purpose will be to please God. Acts 3:1-8
– I pray in the name that is above every other name, no sick fellow will leave here with sickness!
When the lame man got up he wasn’t just walking, the Bible said he was walking, leaping and praising God. See, many at times you miss your miracle because what God wants you to do is to praise Him and you feel too big to do so. Church Gist. The man of God has to prompt you and prompt you before you can praise God and yet God is looking for somebody who is going to make him happy by praising him. Let me hear somebody shout halleluyah. You know, just an ordinary shout of halleluyah from the bottom of your heart, saying to the Almighty God, “I am going to please you; I don’t care what anybody may say,” can solve your problems.
You’ve heard the testimony of a woman, very wealthy woman and she had this problem that, no matter what she ate, she vomited and because she was rich, she went to the best of doctors. She travelled all over the world looking for solution. They couldn’t find the solution. They did all the X-rays, Y-rays, everything, they couldn’t find anything. Church Gist. Finally, somebody directed her to the Church at the Headquarters and just as she came, the Almighty God said that, today, I will do something special but before I start, I want people to praise me. The moment we said, “Let somebody shout halleluyah,” when she opened her mouth to shout, a worm jumped out. It was a demonic worm that’s why it didn’t appear on x-ray. When they’re doing the X-ray, X-ray cannot show you demons. It’s just one shout (that) solved the problem.
God is sovereign. He does as He pleases. When God saves a sinner, it’s for a purpose. That boy was giving a testimony and they tried to cut him short. He said he was an armed robber, he was doing evil, he wasn’t using a charm, he said he was praying to God. So the one controlling the microphone said, “ah! this is not the kind of testimony we want.” Church Gist. Let him finish. God kept him alive to show that he can pick you from the miry clay and set your foot on the rock to stay. Let me hear somebody shout halleluyah! That’s the best testimony I have heard here today … because deep inside him, he knew there is God and he was trying to reach out to God. He didn’t know exactly how to do it.
There are several people in your villages, in your towns, who are just waiting for somebody who will explain to them how to be saved. Church Gist. That testimony has shown you clearly that when God promotes, it’s for a purpose. I will remind you of my story. It’s a story some people don’t want me to keep telling but it’s true.
This fellow standing before you used to be a rotten sinner – that’s why I could relate to that fellow. I used to go to Church once in a while, we even bought clocks for parishes but I wasn’t an armed robber – thank God, which shows that some people go … They went deeper than others. But I had so many girlfriends – I couldn’t even number them. I was rotten. But among my rottenness, there was one that I was so rotten with her … it was something else. Church Gist. Don’t ask me for details – I won’t tell you. Then after sometime we parted – she went her way and I went my way. She got married, I got married. Years passed, in the meantime I met the Lord Jesus Christ, he saved my soul and gave me genuine salvation not the kind of salvation some of you claim. He gave me the kind of salvation that makes sin repulsive to me. I became a pastor, glory be to God. I became a pastor and I was lecturing at the University of Ilorin and at the same time, pastoring our little Church there. Then her husband was transferred from his place of work to Ilorin. In the meantime, she had given birth to a child born lame – child who had never walked. When she came to Ilorin somebody told her, “hey, there’s a pastor up there, if he should pray for your child the child will walk. Church Gist. So she came to the Mission house, saw some people by the verandah, “I want to see the Pastor.” They said he is inside. She opened the door and saw me and we greeted, “ah, long time no see – you know, old flames.” What has been happening to you, etc.
Finally she said, I want to see the Pastor. I said, yes, can I help you? She said, I said I want to see the Pastor. I said I am the Pastor. She said, you? I said yes. You the Pastor? I said yes. She said you will pray and God will answer? Let somebody shout halleluyah! We prayed a simple prayer and the child began to walk. He saved me out of my rottenness so I can become a vessel unto honour. He has a purpose. Church Gist. He saved me so that people like you can gather together this morning and be told that your tomorrow is going to be alright. You see, the Bible made it abundantly clear, “if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things have passed away, behold all things have become new.” Let God promote you this morning, let him bring you out of the miry clay and put your feet on the rock to stay.
