EVERY CHILD OF GOD AND MINISTER OF GOD WHO WILL MATTER IN THIS GENERATION WILL MATTER WITH SUPERNATURAL STRENGTH.
MANY PEOPLE WHO CAME FOR CHURCH SERVICE, CAME TO ATTACK THE VESSEL AND TO CONFRONT THE OIL.
WE ARE GETTING WEARY TOO FAST. YOU NEED ENERGY TO FULFILL DESTINY.
STRENGTH IS NEEDED TO POSSESS POSSESSIONS AND TAKE TERRITORIES.

Job 39:27-29. We are looking at EXISTENCE AT THE TOP and the emphasis for this second message is THE POWER OF STRENGTH. We are going to be understanding the value of strength and then understanding our access to strength.
Before we go there, I want to wrap up yesterday where we looked at the power of vision. Church Gist. What was left? What it takes to nurture vision. The Bible says the eyes of the eagle see afar. Church Gist. It is important to know that vision must be nurtured if it will not be aborted. It is not enough to have great vision, it is important to have great manifestations of those visions. If vision must be nurtured, a minimum of four things must be done.
- Continually Review The Vision.
Habbakuk 2:2. Am I on the original plan of God for my life? Have I experienced deviation? Have I started running what is popular as against what is my purpose? Vision review is important to avoid derailment in assignment. When a car is on the highway and it is at top speed, with every slight deviation from the path, by the time it stops, it has gone very far from the bearing. There are many today who have gone very far from what God called them to do. Very far! Because they aligned with what appears popular. Church Gist. Oral Roberts built a University and it was dedicated by Billy Graham. Contemporaries. Then Billy Graham’s people brought money, bought land and everything. They said we have all the money, build a university like Oral Roberts. All we need is for you to sign. He told them that wasn’t part of his original schedule. When God showed me what to do in ministry, He didn’t show me that. Not then, not now. Continually review the vision. - Continually empower the vision at the place of prayers
Power the vision to fulfilment at the place of prayer. If vision must come to pass, it must be powered at the place of prayer. Ephesians 6:18. - Remain under the right inspiration
Whenever you are not being inspired, you suddenly expire. Church Gist. Remain under the right inspiration, under the right covering. Acts 4:13. The right inspiration. - Maintain the right association.
Proverbs 13:20. Your vision can be lost when the wrong association steps into your life. The wise men continued their journey until they branched to the house of Herod. The star went before them in Matthew 2:1-3. But it was as if the star disappeared when they branched to the house of Herod. Church Gist. In verse 9, when they came out, the star went before them. While they were in the house of Herod there was no mention of a star. There are people around whose lives your vision just disappears. I believe the Lord will help us in Jesus’ name.
The Bible says the eagle dwells in the strong place. We are looking now at the power of strength. It is clear throughout scriptures that the eagle is the symbol of strength and power. Apart from the speed and the flight of the eagle. There are other birds that can fly as far as the eagle, some are faster like the Falcon but none of them is as strong as the eagle, the eagle can carry a weight that is three times its size. Church Gist. It can neatly carry a mountain goat with its claws and fly away. An eagle can carry a person with its claws and fly away. The Bible said the secret of the eagle is that it sits in the strong place. The strong place. It means there is a connection between strength and flight. I will talk about that shortly.
Every child of God, every minister of God who will matter in this generation will matter with supernatural strength. One of the greatest plagues of today’s Christianity is the bankruptcy and the shortage of strength. Spiritual strength, not power yet. Not power in terms of casting out devils. Spiritual stamina. At the beginning of our ministry, you remember the early Tongues of Fire. How many hours of prayer? We used to raise prayer points after one hour. Let us pray for this one, until after one hour before we say in Jesus name. No stopping. Church Gist. After another one hour, in Jesus name, Prayer number 2. After the third hour, prayer number three. We have a challenge. The Bible said in the early Church they met daily and from house to house. We want to experience the results of the early church but we don’t have the stamina of the early Church.
Why Is Strength Needed?
- Strength Is Needed For Speed
Psalm 19:3-5. Strength is needed for the race. Strength is needed for speed. That is why we say for millennia the sun rises up every day without tiring. It shines without dimming, it burns without burning out by the secret of the strength we are talking about. When was the last time it was time for the sun to rise and it was tired? For the sun to shine and it was dim? For the sun to burn and it burnt out. Church Gist. The Bible said it is like the sun that moves like a strong man to the race. Are you trusting God for speed in ministry, speed in life, speed in your endeavours? Are you trusting God for speed? Beloved brothers and sisters, if speed is your desire then strength is the vehicle. You know the athletes who run, some of them have to get a secret injection of anabolic steroids and they check it in their blood. All they are looking for is strength to outrun the others. So they inject themselves with some strength impacting steroids. Strength is needed for speed. If you are not happy with the speed you are experiencing currently in life, in destiny and ministry, there is a need for strength. When God laid His hands on Elijah, he ran faster than the chariots of Ahab. I see strength coming on someone here. - Strength is needed for flight.
If you are going to fly and fly swift and fly high, strength is needed. Job 9:26. The eagle flies with haste to the prey and that eagle flies by the mystery of strength. Strength is needed for flight. Isaiah 60:1. You rise with strength. Isaiah 60:8. “Who are these that fly?” If you are going to fly you fly at the frequency of strength. Hallelujah! We may look alike, we may be in the same Church, we may preach the same message but we may not fly at the same level because of capacity. Church Gist. Listen! The engine that is used for aircraft is Rolls-Royce engine. Most aircraft use Rolls-Royce engine but the Rolls-Royce car does not fly because it doesn’t have the Rolls-Royce engine capacity that flies. So the fact that it is Rolls-Royce doesn’t mean it can fly, it has to have flight power inside, it has to have the strength of the engine that can take off for it to fly. And even those that fly, they have different ranges. There are aircraft you can fly, they will have to stop twice before they reach London because of capacity, there are those that will fly to London straight without stop.
There are those that will fly from Nigeria and stop once before they reach America. There are those that will fly from Abuja to Hong Kong non-stop! Capacity! Am I communicating? The issue is not that you are not yet flying but capacity is low. So you’re going to trust God today, “I need a higher level of capacity I need to fly higher. I need a higher dimension of strength! I am breaking down too quickly. I am stopping to refuel too quickly, I am breaking down too quickly. I need strength, I need stamina, I need capacity.” Church Gist. Yesterday here, I was working on Seeds Of Destiny, I was working on Commanding The Day Midnight Prayer, I was working on message of the Conference altogether. Before Healing Service and I’m working on Canada, I’m working on America. Do you understand what I am talking about? I asked him to submit to me Seeds Of Destiny in coming months to start work on it in the course of the Convention. We are getting too weary too fast. If this weariness continues, you need energy to fulfill destiny.
-I announce to somebody here today, the strength that will sustain your flight. That strength is being released to you now.
That is, people are flying 14 hours non-stop, no weariness, no tiredness. And people are flying 3 hours and getting tired and getting exhausted. It’s a matter of capacity. Strength is needed.
- Strength is needed for victory in battle.
Joshua 14:11. You need strength for war. Psalm 144:1. You need strength for war, you need strength for battle. Somebody said is that not bad news? You need the strength. Isaiah 28:5-6. Beloved brothers and sisters, whether you like it or not; whether you are interested or not, to be a child of God gives you invitation to battle. That is, that you are a child of God you are invited to battle. Ephesians 6:10. Interested or not? We wrestle. Successful or not? We wrestle. Church Gist. Now, your matter worsens when you have small oil on your head. The Bible said when the Philistines heard that David had been anointed, they looked for him. If you have any significant oil on your head, the Philistines will look for you but don’t be afraid of the Philistines if you’re not in short supply of strength. The territorial powers of the territory where you are will look for you, ancient altars from your father’s house will look for you because God told Gideon: “Go and throw down the altars of your father’s house I am calling you for an assignment but that altar will fight you, deal with it first.”
You will be wondering, what is my challenge? Local demons from your village want to join forces with demons of the territory where you are to see how they can resist you. Because they think that you are not permitted to cross the level you are trying to cross because of pre-existing covenants of ancestors and deities? So you need strength to collapse them, to send some devils on premature retirement. I’ll be talking more about this in the evening session. You need to understand that there are people who came for (Church) service, it is not service they came for they came to attack the vessel, they came to confront the Oil. Church Gist. There are people who came for healing, it’s not healing they came for. “Pray for me, I’m deaf and dumb.” It’s not deaf, it’s not dumb. He may be deaf, he may be dumb but he only came to try the power and resist some. I’ve seen that a couple of times. Do you understand what I’m talking about? There are people, you’re praying for deaf and dumb people. “Are you hearing me?” He will say: “No” before you even start the prayer. “Can you hear?” “No! Nothing!” Do you understand what I’m saying?
One day I went to a local village, I wasn’t married yet – brutal days of 6, 7, 8 hours of tonguing in the morning before going out. I went to a rural, rural village. Before I went there, the Lord showed that a witch was going to come there to try the power and in the realm of the Spirit it was going to stand on the head and the leg up, upside down. So I came and I preached brutally, gave altar call, everybody came out. And then the Lord pointed the person to me. She stayed like this (Illustrating). Church Gist. So I said: “What did you come out for?” Are you here to give your life to Christ? That one wasn’t even hard to know. Angry like, “I wish I can kill you now.” When I saw that, all the fightful forces inside me arose, I gave a thunderous scream, she was lifted from the ground and thrown across the louver “praam” outside! Are you hearing what I’m saying here today? So that you don’t end as a victim, we need strength, strength for the battle.
-I announce to somebody here today, the last time you lost a battle shall be the last forever. The strength to dissolve the forces of hell, that strength is released on you now.
Proverbs 30:30. You need strength not to turn, you need strength to confront and collapse. Strength is needed for victory and battle.
- Strength is needed to possess possessions and take territories.
Deuteronomy 31:7. Joshua, you’re not dodging this, “Thou must go with the people.” You shall enforce their inheritance, you shall force the land to be taken, for that purpose you need to be strong. Church Gist. You cannot be weak and cause them to inherit the Land. Ola!! Am I communicating? Both you as a person! And in case you’re a pastor and the people that are under your pastorate – For you to cause them to inherit their inheritance, you need spiritual strength. You need power wey pass power. Somebody say Amen! Somebody say a louder Amen.
Lift your hands and say: In the name of Jesus, I shall possess my possession. I shall take territories by the mystery of strength.
If the things that should be yours are not yet in your hands, it is because strength is lacking. How do you know that the place you went newly to plant Church is not an altar of hell that needs to be dealt with? We have dealt with matters (plenty matters). Where we were in Area One, that site was a den of demons. Pastor, do you remember? Some people used to offer dog sacrifice. Church Gist. They sacrificed dogs to the stream there before we came, gambling, everything evil was there. ‘Igbo smoking’, Indian hemp, everything evil that was the headquarters. I mean the other one, there was one Church there that was more like a shrine that was by the side there…beer parlour by the gate when we came there. What it is now was not what it was. Anything that you know was evil was there. We demobilized them. We did destructive surgeries (amputations, decapitations) – irrecoverable. Are you hearing what I’m saying here today? You need strength.
The devil holding what is yours will not release it without a fight. He won’t release what is yours without a fight. So you need the strength to force the devil to drop it – to force the devil to give you what is both yours and belongs to those that God has sent your way. Church Gist. Strength is needed to possess your possessions. Joshua 1:6. We need strength. Strength is needed to possess possessions.
- Strength is needed to bring forth. Is there anything you want to birth? You want to birth potentials, you want to birth vision? Strength! Lift your voice and say, ‘I receive strength.’ 2 Kings 19:3. The midwives say ‘madam push’ – no energy. There is no strength. The cervix is 9/10 opened already, in fact, it’s fully dilated (10/10) – madam push, baby is ready to come out but no strength. Prolonged obstructed labour, the fetus is getting distressed. Church Gist. Doctors are about to take decision to do surgery because there is no strength to give birth. And I can assure you there are children, intrauterine fetal death that can occur because strength was not there to push. Am I communicating? The midwife will tell you; the doctor will tell you ‘muster all the energy you have, madam, push.’ You say, I am tired.
- That will never be your portion!
There are many people whose visions have matured for birth but no strength. There are potentials (great potentials) that should be birthed for the benefit of a generation but there is no strength. Church Gist. There is strength to bring forth the vision and the vision dies (potential is aborted because there is no strength). Beloveth brothers and sisters, you need strength.
- But I announce today, every vision that is due for birth, the strength to birth them is released!
- Every potential that is needed to be brought forth, the strength to bring them forth, I declare, it is released!
Like somebody testified, for about 3-4 years, every Sunday there was a new song (every single Sunday) and then it comes with the freshness of the oil – healings, miracles, tears everywhere. You know what? You need to sit down to prepare the message for the Sunday and sit down to receive the song for the Sunday. The song tallied with the message titles, theme of the month. Am I communicating? The theme of Conventions…the Conventions also had their songs according to the theme. It required strength to do so. You couldn’t do that in weakness. There are times that the song, the melody is there but the lyric is not there and you can’t patch it. Right? Church Gist. You cannot give a big man this suit (referring to his suit) to wear, he won’t enter inside. The wording has to match with the melody and it requires strength. The reason why that tension stopped was because the songs were so many and they were not going out. So it appeared like a waste. Why are these things flowing out like that and then it’s not going out? Let’s relax, let it move a bit. Let it saturate our World. It’s not for show, it’s not for fancy. Do you understand what I’m saying? That is, there are things inside that can’t come out in laziness. You need to pay attention with strength to bring forth certain things and there is no attention without tension. Attention is actually ‘at tension.’ Hallelujah! Strength!
There are people procrastinating over doing a particular course for years, over getting an expertise somewhere for years – procrastinating. Lazy! My wife came to my office the other day and she saw a stack of books everywhere (I mean there are books everywhere). Books in the office up here, books in where we stay, books in the house, in the sitting room, books in the office that I have left in Area One already. So, she went to the shelf here and took books randomly. Church Gist. She opened this one, underlined from the first page to the last page. She said, ‘ah, ah, what is this?’ (Laughs) She picked another one, same thing (lined, circled). Myself looked at one book the other day, I said, I like this title. I went and carried it, it has been read and underlined from beginning to the end. Are you following what I’m saying here today? Strength!
- I prophesy a baptism, a release of strength – receive it now in the name of Jesus!
Why is Strength Needed?
- To bring forth, to birth the vision, to birth potentials.
- Strength is needed for service. You don’t serve the Lord in laziness. Real service! Mark 12:29-20, 1 Chronicles 26:8. Could that be the reason why he said, ‘not slothful in business?’ Don’t give me lazy people.’ Romans 12:11. Strong! You can’t afford dizziness and laziness and hypertension and weakness and tiredness in the daytime. If you want to serve God and serve Him well, you serve Him with strength and capacity and energy.
In Ethiopia Crusade – I think it was in Kenya that I told my secretary, I said: I’m feeling very lazy. I’m feeling a bit lazy. Thank God for international crusades but look, national home crusades, I haven’t seen much of it this year. I said, there are empty weekends that we can fix. There are empty weekends that I want us to occupy. I said it on the altar in Kenya. Yes! That is, genuinely, I was feeling lazy. That is the truth between me and…I’m not trying to impress you and nobody was there when I told him. So I wasn’t trying to impress nobody. I said, “I’m just feeling a bit lazy, there is need for more work.” Church Gist. Strength for Oral Roberts…(Oral Roberts) did 5 weeks crusade everyday at Madison Square Garden in New York. That is their normal realm of crusade. That is, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and then continues. That’s how those people we are quoting, that is how they laboured. Billy Graham did 88 nights (2 days, it would have been 3 months) at Wembley Stadium until Wembley became the overflow. Strength for service.
One day, we did 90 days fasting, right? 90 days and we met 3 times everyday (6am, 12pm and 6pm) – every day for 90 days in the Church in Area One. In 2017, we fasted the whole year and met everyday and then midday…do you understand what I’m saying? Church Gist. This is the way our leaders laboured, (this is the way) our fathers laboured. Paul the Apostle preached a year and half in Ephesus, daily. Today somebody’s drinking tea in between preaching. I don’t have any challenge with that.

We were meant to have two sessions, I said we would do one session and have 7 hours in His presence. Church Gist. They came trepidatiously. Wondering how it will happen. By the time we were through, it was 8 hours. I think the name of the man is Bishop Kenneth Bloomer, he was in the meeting throughout. Jonathan Shuttlesworth was there. Kenneth Bloomer said “You kept Americans for 8 hours without food, without coffee and tea. That miracle is bigger than raising the dead.” Nobody drank anything, they didn’t eat food. Nobody went anywhere, they were sitting in the same place for 8 hours and these 8 hours people came from Canada, they came from everywhere. Spanish people, Caucasians, everybody. You kept us for 8 hours, nobody went anywhere. He said this is a bigger miracle than raising the dead. I see a new level of strength. I see a new level of energy.
Some people are sick in the body from infirmities that make you not to be as strong as you should, I take authority over the spirit of infirmity. Church Gist. Every sickness of the body that is making you weak and making you not to do the things that you are meant to do for God, for life and for the Kingdom, I declare they are arrested. In the name of Jesus, be well. Congratulations, strength is coming.
- Strength Is Needed For Exploits
Daniel 11:32b. There is a picture my wife took of me in the aircraft while we were coming from Ethiopia. I was blasting in tongues, I didn’t know when she took it. Files for admin work and other works were being treated while we were coming, Sunday message being prepared while we were coming. Everything was a pile. No blinking from Nairobi all the way home. All the others ‘who preached more than me’ were already overcome. Some were in Cloud 10 and Cloud 15, some were not aware, they didn’t bother them with any refreshments. Church Gist. No need, they were asleep. Just completely overcame. Strength! It is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth but God shows mercy. That strength is coming upon somebody here. That is, you went for crusade and you carried files from home, you are still supervising construction work, supervising approval matters, supervising church planting work. We were going to come back and do Church planting on Saturday and it happened. That Church planting the Saturday after we came back where the woman that had spinal cord transection was brought paralyzed to the Apo Crusade. She jumped and danced and was here on Sunday. I just feel like I am not wasting my life. I feel like crusade is not taking my attention from what I have to do here or there. Because you can succeed somewhere and fail elsewhere. This is working and that is failing. You got this but lost that. Some people got ministry but lost their families. Wife is in rebellion. Children don’t want to hear anything about God. Am I right? I told myself at the beginning of the ministry, what shall it profit a man if you win the whole world and lose your home or lose your family? Who will you take to heaven? What will you tell God? That the whole world heard you and your family refused to hear you. Church Gist. My children said “Daddy, you have spoilt us. You spoilt us with so much Word, that at times when we are listening to somebody and we want to take note, we find it difficult to take note. Because you just speak with clarity.” So they send prophets offering to me, their prophet and send parental offering as their father. Out of the money I am giving you, this is my offering for my prophet. This is my offering for my father.
- You won’t miss it.
- By the mercy of the God who brought you here, you won’t derail.
One of my children told me the other day, “Why is it that you don’t wait for me to tell you things before you tell me? Everything I want to tell you, you are telling me.” You know what, so this and this, just do it like this. “I am fearing you now. Church Gist. This is what I wanted to tell you to counsel me about and for us to pray about. You are telling me and giving me the answer before I tell you.” God can give you the strength to help us not to be successful here and fail there.
- Anywhere in anyone’s life where the enemy is undermining your destiny, undermining your purpose, in the name of Jesus it is over.
- Strength! Strength! Strength! Receive it now.
My father in the Lord, Bishop Oyedepo said he does not go to bed to look for sleep. Sleep has to carry him from work. That I went to bed and I am looking for sleep. No! I am at the work table, it is sleep that will carry me from there. I can’t be lying down and be looking for sleep. Church Gist. No! I will be working until sleep carries me from work. Receive strength! Strength Is needed for exploits, the people that do know their God, they shall be strong and they shall do exploits. Joshua 14:11. Caleb said give me this mountain. He was as strong as he was forty years ago. Strength!
What Is The Secret Of Strength?
- Waiting On The Lord
Isaiah 40:31. Waiting on the Lord is a secret of strength. Moses waited. Elijah waited, Jesus waited. One day Jesus preached for 72 hours nonstop. The people were tired, He wasn’t tired. Church Gist. He said, “Can you give the people food?” The disciples said where can we find it? He said, “These people have been with me for three days and they have eaten nothing.” That is 72 hours of non-stop ministry, waiting on the Lord. - Periodic fasting and prayer
Like Kenneth Hagin calls it, “The fasted life.” That is, your life is fasting. If somebody said I fasted for 40 days from morning till 12 noon which is a fasting. It means I don’t know for how long I have been fasting. Are you hearing what I’m saying here today? Without undermining any kind of fast because any type of fast that God leads a person is a fast. Church Gist. As for Sunday morning, food crossing this mouth? it’s if there are 10 services and the last service ends by 8 (p.m.) that is when the food will have favour. Do you understand what I am saying? You know? Your schedule may not be the same as ours so don’t force yourself to do anything especially if you have health issues.
-If you have health issues, be healed.
Be healed then you can do the things that you are meant to do. Periodic waiting on the Lord, you don’t eat just because you saw food, no! If there is no desire for food per time, let it rest a bit. That is, you prepare the food but you realize that you are not having any appetite. It’s like the call unto prayer. You feel that call unto fasting, it’s a burden. You don’t know what God wants to do so you abandon that for a while until that burden is lifted. Church Gist. It may be lifted in another one hour, it may be three hours, it may be till the evening but you are just available for God to work with you. When Jesus said: “This kind goeth not but by prayer and fasting”. He’s not saying if you see the devil go and fast and come. The fasting that will deal with that devil, you did it before the devil appeared. No! It is not at the sight of the devil you now go back to fast and come, the devil may have killed the person before you return especially if he knew you went to fast before you came. Praise the Lord!
- The Word and voice of God.
The Word of God carries strength and the voice of God in particular. Every time you connect His Word and connect His voice, you are connected to a new lease of strength. 1 John 2:14. When the Word of God is at home inside you, there is a strength that is produced. Church Gist. Daniel 10:19. The voice of the Lord carries strength, it’s powerful. The voice, the Word. Take time to listen to His Word and trust Him to speak His voice into your Spirit. We have seen unusual strength in the course of the assignment. When you just hear one thing from God, weakness disappears. - The joy of the Lord.
Nehemiah 8:10b. Habakkuk 3:18-19. Depression deprives (one) of strength. Church Gist. Joy, excitement impact strength especially excitement that comes with praise. It impacts! The joy of the Lord. - Trust and faith in God.
Isaiah 26:4. Jehovah is everlasting strength, strength that is durable, strength that lasts forever. In the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength. Hebrews 11:11. Church Gist. Your faith in God which comes from the revelation of the Word will equip you with strength. - The help of the Lord.
When God lays His help in you, tiredness disappears. Psalm 89:19. 2 Chronicles 26:15. King Uzziah was marvelously helped until he was strong. The rest of the story is bad but we’ll stop here. He was marvelously helped! When God helps you and helps you marvelously, help that makes people marvel, you will be strong. The rate and manner and way in which we operate, help! Strength from God. Church Gist. One day I flew from London England on Saturday night by British Airways landed in Abuja, Sunday morning by 5 a.m. went straight to Church in Area 1 and preached 5 services – flew all night! Preached 5 services because I didn’t want to be out on a Sunday morning. Are you ready to hear more? And then boarded flight in the evening to Venezuela in South America, the same day.
Now, I could have flown straight from Europe to South America but I wanted to be in Church on Sunday so I took that stress, came preached 5 services, went home, refreshed, took lunch or whatever straight to the airport flying to South America. The same day! And ministered in the week and retired back to continue (my) schedule like nothing happened. You know until you hear stories like this, you don’t really even know the details of things. Church Gist. Eh! And you come out fresh, bouncing! And when they declare dance, leg is still moving. One elderly bishop said: “You have seen the blind see, the deaf hear, all manner of miracles.” He said: “But my greatest miracle of you is your voice that is not cracking.” He said: “That is my own miracle of you.” It’s time to pray, you pray; it’s time to preach, you preach; it’s time to sing you sing and pitch. And the voice is not (cracking). Do you understand what I’m saying? Marvelous help.
-I stand here to announce to somebody! See! You will date many things to this Convention, there are many people here, many pastors here all of a sudden people will look at you and say what happened to you? Church Gist. And I announce to you, it shall be the connection to the marvelous help of God. You believe it shout the loudest Amen.
- The wisdom of God.
Wisdom gives strength, the wise man is strong. Proverbs 24:5. Isaiah 33:6. Church Gist. Wisdom which is still connected to the voice of God and the Word of God brings strength. - Knowledge of God.
Daniel 11:32. See! The more of God you know. Church Gist. The more you hang around God – the weariless, tireless God; the more of His energy you acquire. - The avoidance of iniquity.
Iniquity weakens. Psalm 31:10b. You see a young girl who gives her life to prolific iniquity after a while, she looks dilapidated, run-down. See a young man, alcohol, tobacco and all those terrible lifestyles. After a while, he looks 10 years older than his real age, run-down. Church Gist. And you can apply it anywhere – fraudulent, lying, iniquity deprives strength. Samson’s strength was lost to iniquity and it’s any form of iniquity. This Scripture is so critical. So if you are trusting God for strength, run away from sin. - Stillness and rest is key to strength and I will explain to you what that means. Isaiah 30:7. Busyness is a destroyer of strength. That is, overscheduled. I’m talking about the wrong business. Busy with phone, busy with this, busy with that, busy with aimless discussions and talk. Even where there is no time to be with God, for you and God to be sober. ‘Their strength is to sit still.’ Church Gist. There is a time to sit with God to renew strength. There is a time to just be calm. Isaiah 41:1. You know the strength that brought down the wall of Jericho – part of it was the strength of silence. ‘March round the wall and don’t speak anything for 7 days and don’t say a word until the day I bid you to shout.’ There are some who talk about; ‘talk fast.’ There are days I will…my daughter asked many years ago (many many years ago) after she had seen a very explosive Worship and Wonders Night. She said, daddy, how do you prepare for these programs? How many hours do you pray? I said, before, I can tell you, let’s say, 10 hours, 5, 7 hours but now I can’t tell you the time because prayer and everything have mixed together. And there are times I deliberately won’t utter a voice to nobody until I step down.
Those years of the crossover night where I will go to be locked up somewhere (my wife is aware of that). That is, no communication. The first thing I want to utter is the declaration of the year after 5 or 7 days. Christmas day to 31st (25th – 31st). I had to apologize to my children many times. While other people have their father and mothers around them at Christmas, I’m on a retreat. Church Gist. The first thing I want to utter is this is what this year is about then. He said, let the people keep silence so they can renew their strength. Too much talk (loquacity) is leakage of strength. It’s leakage of strength. It’s leakage of power. There are people who talk until they are tired. That’s physically tired (tired from talking).
One evangelist, I remember I was talking to him on the phone and you were there (referring to Dr. Becky Enenche). ‘So we just came back from Ethiopia; the stadium (was) jammed. We are just going to South America, 5 stadium crusades. I feel a bit tired.’ He talked, he talked a thousand miles per second. I said, excuse me Sir, calm down, okay? Calm down. There are people like us, this level of talk doesn’t impress us. Very direct. I said, this kind of talk we are not impressed at all. You put us off and there are people in our category. Anybody who is listening to you and being impressed doesn’t have work to do. I said, calm down. Anything you are doing is not you. It’s God who is doing it. Church Gist. You have 50,000 in a crusade, 100,000 and some half a million. How did you count them? One by one? I have never given a crusade count. I took an elderly man of God to Otukpo one day, St. Francis Primary School – both fields were jammed to capacity. He looked at me, he said; this place must be up to a million people. I said, I’m not sure sir. He said, this place should be up to one million people. I said, we didn’t count. He said, what can be the estimate? I said, I have no estimate sir. He was talking, talking and talking. I said, calm down. He said, Pastor, what you are telling me is true. My father in the Lord (something something) has told me like this before. He said, they have told him like that before. Then after he said that, he continued. (Laughs) I mean, somebody talking until he is panting. It’s not what I was told. Hallelujah! ‘Let the people keep silence and renew their strength.’
I know a man (a billionaire) connected to this Commission (under this Commission). Every Monday, he will talk to nobody for about 5 to 6 hours before going out for business. Every Monday! He said, it’s his personal retreat and refreshment time with God. He’s not a pastor. But he will hit the streets on evangelism (physical evangelism). So his fellow billionaire friends said, we like the way you are doing this your God work. If you are going out to this Place and they won’t kidnap you, we want to follow you. Church Gist. He said, ‘personal retreat.’ He will come out of that retreat and before the week is out, he has a job of 10 billion which is equivalent to 10 million dollars. Do you understand what I’m saying? ‘I am not talking to nobody.’ When our new acoustic album came out, he said, I have gotten something to listen to every morning before going out so I can correct my life before I step out. Yes! Do you understand what I’m talking about? For somebody, this particular point is the point you have been looking for. Isaiah 41:1.
Isaiah 30:15…you are just everywhere talking and talking and moving everywhere. Church Gist. When you come out from those seasons of just you and God – an hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, once a week, twice a week (whatever), he said that is where your strength lies.
- It’s a new day for you!
- The release of impartation. What a man has, he can give. Fire begets fire. Strength begets strength. The release of impartation. You saw the boldness of Peter and John (call it the audacity) in Acts 4:13. Acts 3:3-7. Church Gist. Who is holding your hands determines the strength you can carry. He held his hands and lifted him up and his feet and ankle bones received strength. There are times where your own strength is not enough where you need higher authority to hold you so you can be on your feet.
- Somebody is receiving strength today!
- That’s why we are here in this Service because strength is coming!
- You won’t be a victim of frequent weakness, tiredness, laziness, no more!
