Welcome to the Blessing Sunday in our month of praise and the subject, “THE BLESSING OF PRAISE”. When we talk about praise, it is actually praise and worship. Church Gist. In this month, we shall be doing very extensive praising and extensive worshipping. So the charge shall be as sharp as possible so we can have the time to do the practical. Hallelujah!
We want to appreciate the Lord, we want to honour Him, we want to appreciate Him for all the incredible manifestations of His power in the just concluded Destiny Recovery Convention. Church Gist. If you have not received yours, get ready, it will happen to you.
So, we have Psalm 67:5-7.
- somebody who is positioning for fearful blessings, shout the loudest Amen!
- somebody getting set for frightening blessings, shout the loudmost Amen.
Our objective this morning is understanding the diverse blessing of praise. By way of introduction, it is important to note that the praise of God, that is, the praise and the worship of God is one of the surest highways to blessing in life. Church Gist. If you don’t understand what to do to experience blessing in life, praising God, worshipping Him is one of the surest highways to the blessing. Church Gist. If we check through Scripture, some of the most blessed people in the Bible have something to with praise, they have something to do with worship and I will give you an example in this service.
- Abraham.
In Genesis 22:3 when God asked Abraham to offer his son Isaac. Genesis 22:3-5. The language of worship was the language of Abraham. Worship was ingrained in Abraham such that when God asked him to go offer Isaac for sacrifice, it was worship. Church Gist. And if you’re talking of the blessing, the number one symbol in the whole of the Bible is Abraham. You can’t talk about the blessing without talking Abraham. Church Gist. And Abraham was worship personified until sacrifice became a part of his own worship and we are going to look at that later on. - David.
The Bible calls David the Sweet Psalmist of Israel. David was the man of songs. David was the one who said in Psalm 34:1, “I will bless the Lord at all times”. Church Gist. David was the one who said in Psalm 27:4. David was song-personified. But look at the weight of the blessing of David in 1 Chronicles 29:10-13.

There’s no blessing under Heaven you’re looking for that you cannot find in David. Whatever blessing it is. Every spiritual gifting and spiritual grace was found in David – Prophet, Priest, King. And who is David? The symbol of worship in Scripture. Church Gist. He was a singer, a music inventor, he was the instrumentalist, the choir director, the songwriter. So massively blessed. Beloved, any time the devil wants to fight your blessing, he fights your praise. Every time the devil wants to fight your blessing, he fights your praise. If the devil cannot resist your praise, he cannot resist your blessing. Church Gist. There are so many people who know about prayer and fasting, they know many things but they know nothing about praising and worshipping. - I prophesy to you today, you’re stepping into the realm of unbelievable blessing as a result of this service this morning.

The question is, why is it that praise guarantees so much blessing? I have four reasons but I will share two with us in this service.
- Praise is the fulfillment of our purpose for existence.
You’re fulfilling your purpose for existence, our purpose for creation. Isaiah 43:21. “This is a major reason why I created these people. I created them to praise me. I created them to worship”. Church Gist. And you cannot fulfill the reason why you were created and exist in frustration, it’s impossible. It’s as if Jehovah is paying you for your assignment. “This is the assignment of your life. It’s the assignment of worship, it’s the assignment of praise, do it well and you won’t beg me to sustain you on the earth”. Church Gist. Listen, your assignment is connected to your fulfillment. If your assignment is praise, your fulfillment will come out of praise. Your assignment is connected to your fulfillment and your assignment carries your consignment. Your assignment carries your purpose and your purpose carries your package. Don’t forget it. Church Gist. Your assignment carries your consignment, your purpose carries your package. So, people do many things, every other thing but they’re murmuring, they’re grumbling, they’re complaining. Praise-worship time is not their own time, it’s for little children. Church Gist. Even in their privacy, in their closet, they have no business with that.
- but I see that changing today. If you believe that, say a loud Amen!
- Praise directly addresses the need of God.
The God of Heaven who is big and massive, does He need anything? Nothing else but to be praised. Every other thing we do addresses our needs. If you’re studying the Word, it’s for your benefit. Church Gist. Even if you’re living holy, it is for your benefit, if you’re giving, God does not need your money, it’s for your benefit, if you’re praying, it’s for your benefit. The only thing that is beneficial to God, let me say that, is your praise. Psalm 50:23. Church Gist. “When you’re praising, you’re glorifying me, when you’re praising me, you’re ordering your conversation aright, you’re using your words and your speech the way you should use it and when you do that, I will show you my intervention”.
Now look at John 4:23-24. See what this means; when you pray, you’re seeking God, when you worship, God begins to seek you. “The Father seeketh such”. A majority of people are seeking God, there are a few people that God is seeking. Church Gist. That is, it is God that is on the lookout for you. Many people look at people and say, “I want to be like this person”, you don’t know how they are until you see their secret with God. Church Gist. Read the wording of that song, “Lord, you know my love for you is for real”, listen to it and let’s internalize it.
“Lord, I come before your majesty, not to see what I can get from you but to see what I can give to you. But what can I give that you don’t have oh! Lord. And what do I have that I did not get from you. So, since I can’t give you anything that will make so much sense, so, I bring my praise to you as my sacrifice of love. Lord, I bring my praise to you as my sacrifice of love. Lord, you know that my love for you is not fake, it’s real. Search me Lord, you confirm yourself whether it is fake and see my sincere love you” then you go to verse 2;
“Lord, I come before Your Majesty, not in search of what is in your hands but in search of your lovely face. You can do all things but there’s one you can’t do, you can’t praise yourself. You can do all things, there’s nothing you cannot do but there’s one I am sure you can’t do, you can’t praise yourself. So, my best gift to you is the offering of my praise”.
When you praise God, you’re addressing a need that God can’t meet by Himself. Church Gist. “So, I give my praise to you as my sacrifice of love. Lord, I give my praise to you as my sacrifice of love. Lord, you know that my love for you is real. Search me Lord and see my sincere love for you”.
Then, you go to the third verse;
“Lord, I come before Your Majesty, not to boast of what I am in life but to glorify you Mighty God. For you made me Lord to show forth Your praises” this again is part of the assignment, “and if I hold my peace, then, the stones will cry out Lord”. Church Gist. Why don’t we reach this verse all the time? “If I hold my peace, the stones will cry out loud. So, I bring my praise to you as my sacrifice of love”.
That is, by the time you’re doing for God what God can’t do for Himself, God will do for you what nobody and nothing can do for you. Church Gist. You just come to a point of enviable existence. That was why David came to the point where there was no gift that was available that did not manifest. There was no realm of operation that was available that David did not flow in. Church Gist. He had no problem on money, no enemy could finish him because he had stepped into the realm where he didn’t just sing songs, he made music.
- I decree and prophesy to somebody here today, it is your new day!
- You believe that it’s your new day, shout the loudest Amen!
Very quickly, what is the blessing of praise and worship? This may be common in both services.
- It’s the blessing of His presence.
One of the highest things God can give to anybody is His presence, the blessing of His presence. Psalm 22:3. Church Gist. When you give Him your praise, He gives you His presence, the blessing of His presence. - The blessing of supply.
Psalm 67:5-7. When you give Him His praise, He puts the earth under pressure, the earth comes under pressure to release what is yours. Church Gist. Your praise puts the earth under pressure to release for you what belongs to you. - The blessing of strength and health.
He blesses you with the strength and the health to keep on doing your assignment and fulfilling your purpose. Proverbs 17:22. Church Gist. He gives you the strength and the help to continue to fulfill that assignment. - The blessing of direction.
In the climate of praise is direction. Directing you to where what is yours is waiting for you. Directing you to where your needs are to be met. Church Gist. Directing you here and directing you there. The blessing of direction. 2 Kings 3:15. - The blessing of preservation and victory.
You cannot be busy fulfilling your life’s assignment of giving God the praise and any witch or any wizard can waste you before your time, it is not possible. They can waste anybody but not you. 2 Chronicles 20:22.
- I announce to someone here today, those who came against you shall soon waste themselves!
- The gang up against your life shall soon scatter back to hell!
- you believe that, say the loudmost Amen.
In conclusion this morning, what is our praise about? What do we praise with?
- Praise and glorify Him with your life.
That is, God is not just looking for a song from your mouth, He’s looking forward to a life that brings Him praise. Matthew 5:14-16. Church Gist. There’s a life you live that brings glory to God. In the display of character, in the display of excellence. Where people in the place of your work can look and just honour God for you. When people in your neighbourhood can praise God for your life. When your classmates and contemporaries can look at you and praise God for your life. Church Gist. There’s a life you live that brings glory to God and there’s a life you live that brings dishonour to God. The meaning of that is, your lifestyle can neutralize the effect of your singing and your song. You character can neutralize the effect of your song. There’s a life you live that makes your singing inconsequential. Church Gist. Praise and glorify Him with your life, that’s your first primary assignment. That somebody will look at you and say, “thank you Jesus, God is real” and praise Him. - You praise and glorify Him with your song.
Yes, the song is part of it and this has nothing to do with the singing voice. Church Gist. It has something to do with melody from the heart. Praise and glorify Him with your song. Psalm 69:30. - You praise and glorify Him with your thanks. And that includes your testimony.
We praise and glorify God with our thanks and testimony. Psalm 69:30b. Church Gist. We talked about a thanksgiving list sometime ago, where you’re consciously and consistently listing out reasons, things you want to thank God for and you want to appreciate God for on a consistent basis and when it is time to step out to say, “God did this for me”, you’re ready to do that. - You praise and glorify Him with your resources.
Praise is complete when it is backed with sacrifice. Matthew 2:11. Church Gist. The natural thing to do is to open up your treasure. Any praise that has your treasure closed is not genuine. “Praise the Lord oh my soul, oh my pocket, hold your peace” (laughs). It’s not real. Anywhere your heart is, your treasure travels there. Your heart cannot be with God and your treasure is not there. Church Gist. You know the depth of a man’s worship by their depth of sacrifice. Beloved, I welcome you.
- today, I decree, the presence of God is coming on you like never before!
- You believe that, shout the loudest Amen!
- I prophesy, now listen to this, in this month of June, the kind of supplies you have never seen in your life is about to hit your hands! Supernatural supplies!
Now, this is the month to dance away HIV, this is the month to celebrate away hepatitis. This is the month to bury barrenness. This is the month to kill hypertension and kill diabetes and kill weakness all the time. This is the month of direction. That area where you’re trusting God for direction, “Lord, I need to know the steps to take and the move to make”, this is that month. This is that month where the enemies will fight and finish themselves. Is God speaking to somebody here? Lift your hands and give Him the praise, give Him the honour, give Him the adoration. Let’s position ourselves and get set for explosive praise.
