ONE OF THE BEST THINGS THAT CAN BE SAID OF ANY PASTOR IS THAT THE HAND OF GOD IS ON THAT MAN.
WHEN THE HAND OF GOD IS ON YOUR LIFE, THE FINGER OF THE devil CANNOT PROSPER.
WHEN GOD’S HAND IS UPON YOU, YOU HAVE BOTH STRENGTH AND SPEED AHEAD OF THOSE WHO WENT BEFORE.
IF YOU’RE READY TO FIGHT ON THE BEHALF OF THE KINGDOM, GET READY FOR STRENGTH TO DO THE FIGHT.
PEOPLE WHO ARE READY TO SEND THE devil BACK TO HELL ARE QUALIFIED FOR HIS STRENGTH.
THERE ARE MANY PASTORS WHO ARE WEAK BECAUSE THEY ONLY STUDY THE BIBLE TO PREACH, THEY DON’T STUDY TO EAT.
YOU VENTILATE YOUR SPIRITUAL STRENGTH WITH THE PRESENCE OF GOD THROUGH PRAISE.
YOU CANNOT BE WISE AND BE WEAK. WISDOM IS DIAMETRICALLY OPPOSED TO WEAKNESS.
WISDOM IS KNOWING WHAT TO DO AND DOING WHAT YOU KNOW CONSISTENTLY.
WHAT YOU KNOW MAKES YOU INTELLIGENT, WHAT YOU DO MAKES YOU WISE.
WHEN WISDOM IS ON GROUND, STRENGTH CAN’T BE LACKING.
EVERY PASTOR SHOULD HAVE A REGULAR SCHEDULE OF FASTING.
STRENGTH COMES FROM WAITING UPON THE LORD IN THE PLACE OF PRAYER AND FASTING.
THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD IS THE DEPOT OF STRENGTH.
NOTHING STRENGTHENS LIKE FAITH, NOTHING WEAKENS LIKE FEAR.

Ephesians 6.

-(May) the Lord bless His Word in Jesus’ name!

This morning, we want to look at SCRIPTURAL SECRETS FOR SUPERNATURAL STRENGTH. Understanding how to access strength on the basis of the Word. Actually, we have done a series already. Church Gist. Starting from Monday we had: “The Strength For Wealth” which had to deal with the financial aspect of strength which I believe that every minister and every businessman needs to pick up. But the secrets of spiritual strength are littered throughout Scriptures. We are going to look at about 8 of them. We will be taking some as stand-alone points in the course of the Meeting, but we are looking at about 8 of them.

  1. Strength comes by the hand of the Lord.
The hand of the Lord upon a man imparts unbeatable strength. Unbeatable! The hand of the Lord. Genesis 49:22-24. The arms of his hands were made strong by the hand of the mighty God of Jacob. The hand of God upon a man equals strength. Church Gist. Whatever you do to get God’s hand on your life makes it impossible to be weak. The hand of the Lord! You know? When we talk about helping hands, the hand of the Lord at times also equals the help of the Lord. Psalm 89:19. The laying on of God’s hands most times equals the laying on of His help and what did that help do for David? Psalm 89:19-24.

-Somebody who is ready for the help of God, shout the loudest Amen!

You know? One of the best things that can be said of any pastor is that the hand of God is on that man. The hand of the Lord is on that woman. The hand of God is on that person. When the hand of God is on your life, the finger of the devil cannot prosper. That hand of the Lord is our secret – that help of the Lord is our secret. When you are a help-made person, you are superior to a self-made person. Church Gist. There are help-made people, help from Heaven and there are self-made people. Help-made people are superior to self-made people in result, in impact. There are people who boast of what they have been able to do for themselves and they can… If you hear ten statements, it’s braggadocios and full of self than the hand of the Lord.

See the kind of help that came upon Elijah. 1 Kings 18:46. You know that horse is a symbol of power, symbol of strength. They measure power in horsepower, air-conditional systems in horsepower. Here was the man that had the hand of Jehovah on him that made him stronger and faster than royal horses. When God’s hand is upon you, you have both strength and speed ahead of those who went before. Church Gist. The horse went before, Elijah came from behind because there was a hand on his life. There was a help on him, he overtook, overwhelmed, overpowered the horse by the hand of the Lord. If the only thing you can pray and beg God in this Conference is: “Lord! Please lay Your hands on me.” 🎶 Lord, lay Your hands upon my life; it’s enough. Lord, I’m in need of Your hands on me today 🎶. That hand of the Lord makes the World of a difference!

One day I went to Europe to preach, I arrived Abuja on Sunday morning by 5 a.m. First Service was 6 a.m., right? I arrived, went straight, showered, freshened up and then turned around within an hour and was there for 6 a.m. Service and finished first service, second service, third service, fourth service. I think we were fifth (service) at that time. I mean, whether it’s fifth or sixth. I think we were fifth at that time. Finished the… whether the fifth or sixth service, dashed back home, freshened up, carried my bag back to the airport heading straight for South America. The same Sunday! Continued preaching like nothing happened! Ministered and returned back safe. It’s not possible for things like that to happen. After all the, I mean, the schedule we had ran this week. Church Gist. I mean, ran forever, not just this week; you set your alarm to wake up at a certain time and you woke up two hours before the time. My wife at times said: “Will you not sleep or rest a little?” I said: “I need to feel the need for sleep before I sleep then. If sleep is not catching me, will I force it?” And we need energy to sustain destiny. The reason for strength is that you need to fill your life’s assignment within your time allotment. There is an allotted time and there is an assigned work. You need to finish your life’s assignment within your time allotment. The strength of God! The hand of the Lord comes upon your life! The help of the Lord comes upon your life and gives you the energy to do things that must be done.

One of the men that we grew in the Lord with, Bishop Sunday Igoche. God helped us to build a Church where he’s pastoring now. He should be close to 80 (years) now. He said: “People talk about the miracle in your ministry.” Church Gist. He said: “My greatest miracle of you is the tirelessness and the voice that does not crack.” He said: “You can preach a hundred times a day and you are still preaching and singing. By the hand of the Lord!

-I pray upon somebody today, that hand shall be evident in your life. If you’re saying Amen, say a louder Amen!

Strength comes by the hand of the Lord.
This is very important!

  1. Strength comes for people who live in battle readiness.
There is a way God supplies strength to the man, to the woman who is battle-ready. Isaiah 28:5-6. People who are ready to send the devil back to hell are qualified for His strength. God does not supply strength to everybody. He doesn’t supply strength to spiritual cowards. Church Gist. He doesn’t supply strength to spiritually timid people, He gives strength to fighters. Psalm 89:19. The word “mighty” is the word “Gibbor” is the word “fighter.” “My help is reserved for fighters, my help is reserved for people with a fighting spirit.” If you’re ready to fight on the behalf of the Kingdom, get ready for strength to do the fight.

-Somebody say a loud Amen!

That was the strength that David enjoyed. He arrived the field as a fighter. “Who is this uncircumcised Philistine?” Everybody was cowardly hiding in the cave but here comes David: “Who is this uncircumcised Philistine? I rather die than watch this man defy the armies of the Living God. I’d rather die than watch this man.” And when God saw a fighter, He released His strength. And the strength of the Lord helped the stone, it sank into the head of the man. Church Gist. And to show you the mystery, when something hits a person like this, it should go backward. This man fell forward on his face, to bow to the strength that brought him down. If there is something you’re going to ask God today, “I need a fresh baptism of a fighting spirit.” You must be spiritually rascally and radical in a positive sense – positive one. Matthew 11:12. You know what Caleb said in Joshua 14:11. If you are ready for war you will not lack the strength for war! If you don’t know how to give up before any devil, if you don’t know how to cower, to turn your back before any devil (Speaking in tongues).

How many of us know that the weapons of our warfare that we just read in Ephesians – Helmet of Salvation, breastplate of righteousness, feet shod in preparation of the Gospel of peace, sword of the Spirit. Eh? The shield of faith! And I asked a question: What is it that is the one covering the back? What armour did God prescribe for the back? Nothing! What? Because you were not expected to turn your back. Turning the back is not a part of the game. That was why Joshua cried: “Lord! What will I say when Israel turneth its back on its enemies?” Joshua 7:7-8. Church Gist. What will I say? Israel is not permitted to turn its back on the enemy. What mouth do I have to speak when Your people are turning their back on their enemy. This is an abomination! An abominable abomination! In the course of our purchases and ministry adventure, we have come across several issues. Sometimes, our people will say: “Oh! They say it cannot be done this way. Let us do it this way. I said: “No! It will be done that way. Documentation issues, other issues! It will be done that way!” After it got done, they returned back; they say: “You said so.” You stood firm and said: “I knew what I wanted.” Jehovah owns the universe. There is no law that cannot be adjusted to the law of God. And strength to him that turneth the battle to the gate.

-I prophesy to somebody here today: That fighter spirit, that readiness spirit to turn the battle to the gate of the enemy, receive it now!

  1. Strength comes from eating, feeding on the Word.
Naturally, if a person does not eat he gets weak. 1 Samuel 28:20. Strength comes from the eating of bread. Hallelujah. 1 Kings 19:8. And I’m going to refer to this Scripture again, probably later tonight. He went in the strength of that food. Church Gist. Strength comes from bread – eating the Bread of Life. There are so many people… Now! What is bread? Matthew 4:4. Ecclesiastes 10:17. We eat for strength. There are so many pastors who are weak because they only study the Bible to preach, they don’t study to eat. The last time he opened the Bible, it is for what to come and say.

Today, I have dived into the Word for myself – Word that I dived into that has nothing to do with what I’m preaching now or anything I will preach today. Being a manager of a restaurant does not keep you alive if you refuse to eat. Being a caterer does not guarantee your strength if food is not eaten. You can actually die feeding others. Church Gist. This is Ministers’ Conference! Where you dived into the Word for yourself, for your daily edification, for your daily refreshing – has nothing to do with… Maybe what you are studying today you may not preach from it for the next 15 years. It’s just your personal life. 1 John 2:14. A continual diet of the Word, audio tapes, the Bible itself. Strength comes from eating, feeding on the Word.

  1. Strength comes from the joy of the Lord.
This looks simple but you are strengthened from the joy of the Lord. Depression depletes strength. It depletes strength. Nehemiah 8:10. The joy of the Lord is your strength. Habakkuk 3:18. Depression depletes strength. Pastor you don’t know what you’re doing to yourself when you don’t come into service during praise/worship and you arrive as a big man when the children have stopped playing. Church Gist. Do you understand? There are those who are… they don’t know how the praise/worship of the Church they are pastoring, how it goes. They don’t understand it. The big man! The children need to finish playing before he arrives. Finish playing! Before he arrives. So when do you praise God yourself? So what do you do with your time? What do you do at home? If I didn’t have, at least I would have had up to 45 minutes of worship before coming out today. Apart from the Word, apart from preparing for this Service. Are you hearing what I’m saying? I’m not saying anything to just… to prove any point because examples communicate principles.

I need the joy of the Lord! I need the excitement of the Lord, I need joy from the Lord to maintain strength. Otherwise, you just break down for nothing. You just break down! You ventilate your spiritual strength with the presence of the Lord through praise. When the man is depressed everything is dried up around him. His strength is dried up. There are people who can’t laugh no matter what you do or say. There are people who cannot be excited, they are not excited, they are not exciting. You can’t hang around them and be happy and they are not excitable. Church Gist. I don’t know if you know the difference between those three. They are not excited, they’re not exciting, they’re not excitable. They’re not excited – they are not happy; they’re not exciting – you cannot be happy around them; they’re not excitable – you can’t make them happy. What kind of life is that? And tension fences unction. It’s a fencing of the unction, you bottle up the unction with tension. The unction flowed freely in Elisha’s life when he said: “Bring me a minstrel!” And that is why it’s important that you don’t have a home that is under permanent pressure. You’re coming home, you’re not happy, your wife is not happy, children are not happy. Strength comes from the joy of the Lord. Some people when they send their testimony on Commanding The Day (Midnight Prayer), they say: “Thank you for showing us how to pray and thank you for being happy all the time.” Because somebody’s joy is connected to our joy. Amen!

  1. Strength comes from wisdom.
Proverbs 24:5. Isaiah 33:6. You cannot be wise and be weak. Wisdom is diametrically opposed to weakness. Job 9:4. Job was describing God and he talks about the God who is wise in heart and mighty in strength. Church Gist. He is wise in heart and that translates into mighty strength. And who hardens himself against God and ever prospered? Not one! He is wise in heart and mighty in strength. If you want to walk in the realm of mighty strength, you walk in wisdom. Job 36:5. Anywhere you will see wisdom you will see strength. Proverbs 8:14.

-Somebody say a loud Amen. Somebody say a louder Amen!

Lift your right hand and say: “Father! I receive wisdom to deal wisely with the affairs of life! I receive wisdom!!”

When this work was going on, many people didn’t know what was going on. When eventually some got to know what was going on and who was building. It was too late to resist. So when it was time to resist: “Okay, let’s find out whether things were done as they should, so (as) to know where to start from.” Nothing! Every single thing – Ground, approval for foundation, approval for the ground floor, approval for decking, every single thing! Wisdom is knowing what to do and doing what you know consistently. Knowing what to do per issue, knowing it from the Word and doing what you know.

A wise man is not known by what he knows, he is known by what he does. What you know makes you intelligent, what you do makes you wise. Intelligence is knowing, wisdom is doing. So knowing without doing equals an intelligent fool. Do you understand what I’m saying? He can be very, very intelligent but a fool. Church Gist. You do nothing; you know many things, but you do nothing. Wisdom is action on insight! Action! Insight-based action. Action on insight. Wisdom is access to the mind of God on all issues. Access to the mind of God – That can come from the Word. And so when wisdom is on ground, strength can’t be lacking. When wisdom is on ground, strength can’t be lacking.

-I speak to somebody here today, wisdom!!! That comes from above! Wisdom is released to you right now!

So where does strength come from? It comes from the hand of the Lord. Church Gist. Strength comes for those who live in battle readiness; strength comes from eating and feeding on the Word; strength comes from the joy of the Lord; strength comes from wisdom.

  1. Strength comes from His presence – appearing in His presence
Psalm 84:7. Dear child of God, you don’t only come to Church just to hear preaching or teaching. You come to Church for strength. 🎶 We have come unto the Lord!! We have come to the Father, we have come to renew strength 🎶. That is why the Bible says: “Don’t forsake the assembling of yourselves together.” Whether you are a pastor, whatever! Don’t forsake the assembling of yourselves. Church Gist. The Church you pastor is also an assembly for your own strength. One of the things I want to rush and catch in Church is the praise and also the testimonies. And then once service is through, I also analyze my own note to see points that I will pick from my own note. If what you preach did not touch you, leave there. If it didn’t touch you, leave the pulpit sir. What you preached didn’t touch you, you are a signboard directing people somewhere without entering there. I prefer to be a sign, not a signboard. The same Church you pastor is a place of your own strength. A conference like this is a place of your own strength. The feeder must be fed, the teacher must be taught, the trainer must be trained, the iron must be sharpened.

-Somebody say a loud Amen.

Psalm 84:7. I didn’t know how weak you were before you came, some of us almost gave up on ministry.

-But I announce to you today, strength is coming your way. Shout the loudest Amen!

Psalm 96:6. Are you looking for strength? Step into the Sanctuary. Do you want your life to be beautified? Don’t leave the Sanctuary. Church Gist. There are many things that are in the Sanctuary we don’t know – strength and beauty are in His Sanctuary. Strength and beauty!

-Somebody is leaving here beautified today! Somebody is leaving here with strength today. Church Gist. If you’re that person; you are that body, shout the loudest Amen!

Psalm 132:8. The Sanctuary David built, he was asking the Lord to arrive: “Arrive with Your presence.” – “Thou and the Ark of thy Strength.” The presence of the Lord is the depot of strength.

-Somebody is moving from here with that strength today! Church Gist. If you believe that, say a loud Amen! Those who have travelled from the ends of the World, you’re not going back empty handed in Jesus’ name!

  1. Strength comes from waiting upon the Lord.
Isaiah 49:28-31. Waiting on the Lord in the place of prayer and fasting. Luke 4:14.

-Somebody say a loud Amen! Somebody shout the loudest Amen! Somebody shout the loud most Amen!

My own belief is that every pastor should have a regular schedule of fasting. Just according to what you decide between you and God. A regular schedule!! Two days in a week! Beginning of every new month, beginning of the week! Whatever! Just a schedule! “I am not asking for anything, I am just building strength! I am building strength for the future.” Very, very important! Church Gist. Strength comes from waiting on the Lord. In those days when we fasted until our tummy went concave, no matter what you do, it will never come out; it just went in like that. I was aware that this physical depreciation in the flesh is an appreciation in the Spirit. I was fully aware that as I lost the weight in the flesh I am gaining the weight of the Spirit. I have that mentality! It’s weight gain in the Spirit for that season and that weight is not a weight to drop easily in the Spirit.

-Someone say Amen!

  1. Strength comes through faith.
Men of faith are men of strength. Hebrews 11:11. Romans 4:20. By being in faith, he got strong. Acts 3:16. The crippled man at the Gate – Beautiful Gate; you see what Peter said. Acts 3:16. Faith makes strong. Are you ready for the opposite? Fear makes weak. Nothing strengthens like faith, nothing weakens like fear. There is a paralysis of fear. Fear paralysis! That is what the Lion uses on victims. Fear! If he senses fear, he pounces. Maybe that was why God told Joshua in Deuteronomy 31:6. “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not!” So fear and strength don’t co-exist. It’s either you are strong or you are ‘fearing’. “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not.” Church Gist. You can’t be fearing and be strong at the same time. Joshua 10:25. Faith installs strength. 1 Chronicles 22:13. Fear not! Be strong. Isaiah 35:4. Beloved, kill the fear so that you can birth the strength. Kill the fear! You are going to ask the Lord: “Today! Every spirit…” He said: “God has not given us the spirit of fear.” So fear is a spirit. “Every spirit of fear, I reject you.” You suffocate fear with faith and faith comes by light from the Word. Hallelujah! You will be amazed at the level of strength that you have if you refuse to accommodate fear – the fear of failure, the fear of the unknown, the fear of the future. It’s a new day for somebody!

What are the secrets of strength? Can we go through the 8 things we saw just now?

  1. Strength comes by the hand of the Lord.
  2. Strength comes for those who live in battle readiness.
  3. Strength comes from eating and feeding on the Word.
  4. Strength comes from the joy of the Lord.
  5. Strength comes from wisdom.
  6. Strength comes from appearing in His presence.
  7. Strength comes from waiting on the Lord.
  8. Strength comes through faith.

Stand up on your feet! Is there somebody who wants to walk in unusual strength in this season? In life and in ministry? Church Gist. You saw yesterday why you needed strength and now you have seen how to access this strength!
