Formerly known as HarvestHouse International Worship Center, The Transforming Church was founded 18 years ago by Reverend Sam Oye on an instruction received from a 21-day fasting session and confirmed from Matthew chapter 9 verses 36 to 38:
“But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
Then saith he unto his disciples, The HARVEST truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
Pray ye therefore the Lord of the HARVEST, that he will send forth labourers into his HARVEST.”
With a mandate to “raise a people of total success through the preaching and teaching of the word of Hope and Liberation”, Reverend Sam Oye relocated from Lagos to Abuja and held the Church’s first Sunday morning fellowship on 6th January 2002 in the living room of a Senior Officer in one of the Military barracks in Abuja, Nigeria. Although the marching order from God showed multitudes, they were less than 10 adults four months after inception. Notwithstanding her growth, the Church commenced full Sunday service in a classroom at Lightway Academy Wuse, Abuja in April 2002.
Just like the mustard seed when sown, the Church has continued to grow through her commitment to the spiritual foundations of discipleship, fellowship, ministry and mission. Presently the Church is spread across 4 centers within Nigeria’s capital city (Gwarimpa Worship Center; City Center at Central Business District, Abuja; Galadimawa Worship Center) and the oil rich region (Port Harcourt Worship Center) with a vision to make global impact.

In line with her vision to equip 10,000 transformational leaders with Kingdom leadership principles by 2027, the Church plans to be an international leadership multiplication hub for global evangelization and is running with this vision through various conferences such as Frontline Women Conference, Transformers Women Entrepreneurship, Advance (a global Pastors, Leaders and Ministers Conference).
The Church is also passionate about her corporate social responsibility and has been involved in providing succour to the less privileged, orphans, widows and families in crises through her community outreaches and developmental initiatives.
