26th September 1976: Christian Association of Nigeria is established. The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) is an umbrella organisation containing numerous Christian denominations in Nigeria. The Organisation is made up of five blocs: the Christian Council of Nigeria, the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) , Organisation of African Instituted Churches and the Evangelical Church Winning All/Fellowship of Churches of Christ in Nigeria.The organization initially left out the PFN. However the PFN has become one of the largest blocs of CAN. CAN is 48 years today.

26th September 1968: Reverend Samuel Oluwasegun Olubiyo is born. Rev. Samuel is the Senior Pastor of the Word of Power Global Ministries International also known as Triumphant Christian Centre (TCC). TCC is headquartered in Ikeja, Lagos State.

26th September 1978: Pastor Mildred Kingsley Okonkwo (nee Chijide) is born. She is the Associate Senior Pastor, David’s Christian Centre and Founder, Just Us Girls Global Network. She is the wife of Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo.

26th September 2021: 27 members of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) are abducted. They were abducted in an attack on the Gabachuwa Community in the Southern part of Kaduna State.

26th September 1968: James Patrick Caviezel is born. He is the Lead Actor in the movie, ‘Passion of The Christ’. The ‘Passion of The Christ’ is a movie about the birth, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
