17th November 1961: Bishop Charles Harrison Mason goes to be with the Lord. He was the Founder and First Bishop of the Church of God in Christ (COGIC). COGIC headquarters at Memphis was the Church in which Martin Luther King Jnr gave his famous speech-‘I have been to the Mountain Top’ just a day before his assassination. C. H Mason served for 54 years and passed on to glory at the age of 95. He was succeeded by his nephew.
17th November 2019: Reverend Sam Aboyeji is officially installed as the 5th General Overseer of Foursquare Gospel Church Nigeria at the 64th Annual National Conference of the Church.
17th November 1906: The Foreign Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention appoints George Green as the First Medical Missionary to Africa. He was the General Secretary of the Nigeria Baptist Convention from 1926 to 1936 and the General Superintendent of the Convention from 1937 to 1944.
17th November 1999: The first Campus Holy Ghost Service (CHGS) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) is held at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile-Ife, Osun State,
Nigeria.
17th November 2022: Assemblies of God Nigeria elects Reverend Dr. Abel Amadi as her General Superintendent. The election took place at the 37th General Council Meeting of the Church held at Evangel University Okpoto Campus, Ebonyi State Nigeria.
