WE ARE ALWAYS OUT TO HELP PEOPLE AT ALL TIMES AND IN VARIOUS WAYS
– Bishop David Oyedepo
Bishop David Oyedepo, the Founder and Apostle Over The Commission, Living Faith Church Worldwide, says a percentage of the income of the ministry globally is committed to welfare and humanitarian efforts. While speaking during a recent sermon, he told the congregation,
“Recently, I saw that we started a Creativity Promotion Fund in Kaduna to help people to have something positive to do (to earn a living). Creativity Promotion Fund, it began in Kaduna in 1985. We are on the way to help at all times through various means. Church Gist. Up till now, a percentage of our income globally is committed to welfare. When you hear we have ministered to 30,000 people, it is from it. You hear that there is a natural disaster somewhere and they push in resources to alleviate the sufferings of the people, it is from it. When I give to the poor, I am lending to the Lord, He records it. What I have given, He will give it back to me. He that giveth to the poor shall not lack. Giving is not a church doctrine, it is a covenant of God with man that is binding as long as the earth remains.”
Using his personal life, ministry and foundation, he charged the congregation on tithing, “This ministry is a tithing ministry as small as it is. I have various platforms in my office. There is David Oyedepo Ministries International (DOMI), there is David Oyedepo Foundation (DOF) and there is me. Church Gist. So when I am giving the tithe for DOF, I say ‘on behalf of DOF’. Giving the tithe for DOMI, ‘on behalf of DOMI’, giving my own tithe, ‘this is my own tithe’. They are in three separate envelopes. My own proper gold, the one that came to me, not the one I am representing. The one that came to me. My own proper gold and the account has been mounting forever.”

“This is not a Church of rich people, it is a Church of poor people made rich. That’s what He does. He raises the poor out of the dust and sets them among princes. If you are already raised, you have raised yourself. He raised us from the grassroots. Total income of this Church in 1984 was ₦18,000 plus. My own tithe and sacrifice was part of it. Church Gist. That was our level. He raises up the poor out of the dunghill. This is not a lottery place, it is a Kingdom mystery place. You better awake out of your slumber. There is no ‘Papa lay hands on me’ that will result to breakthrough. My hand laying cannot break the covenant. I don’t have the keys to the windows of heaven. I am not the one that holds the key, Jesus holds the key and He receives tithe up there” Bishop Oyedepo further said.
