While preaching on Sunday, Pastor Kumuyi distinguished between individual adversaries and what he termed ‘systemic enemies.’ Church Gist. He clarified that an enemy isn’t just someone who seeks to take away your job or bread from your mouth, but rather the system that wants to put fear inside you, so that you will not stand for God and for righteousness.
He elaborated that this is done in an attempt to create panic and instil fear, aiming to prevent believers from speaking their convictions and proclaiming the message of Salvation. Church Gist. He stated, “The one who wants to make me panic and put fear in me so that I will not be able to tell my conviction and say, ‘ye must be born again’, that fellow is a great enemy.”
He further asserted that any system designed to hinder one’s ability to speak, preach or live a life of holiness is an opponent.
Concluding his message, Pastor Kumuyi reassured his congregation, stating, “The Lord has given you not the greatest enemy. But God will deliver us from all enemies.”
