Bishop David Oyedepo while charging his congregation on the power of faith for health and healing said no doctor’s verdict is superior to scriptures. He shared the testimony of the co-founder of Lakewood Church USA and mother of televangelist Joel Osteen, Dolores (Dodie) Osteen’s healing from cancer.
He said “Many who claim to be trusting God are simply tempting Him. They believe more in the doctor’s verdict than the Word. So they go with it. This woman of God just passed on the 30th of July 2025 by Dodie Osteen, the wife of John Osteen. She was diagnosed in December 1981 of metastatic cancer of the liver at the age of 47 and given few weeks to live. She just passed at 91. She was given just six weeks in 1981. If you subtract 47 from 91, that is 44 years. That’s a long way out. Six weeks turned to so many years. Everyone appointed to death is declared rescued. Church Gist. There are reports and there are reports. No report is superior to God’s report. No report will ever be superior to God’s report. God’s report can recreate the heart, recreate the kidney, recreate the liver. She just passed last week. I saw her last when my friend passed on in the U.S. We were there and she was there also. God reverted that report. When it comes to the truth, medical verdict is falsehood. When compared with the truth, medical verdict is falsehood. Complete error, except when you embrace it and see it as a verdict that is superior to God’s Word, then you fall with it.”
